[digikam] [Bug 426175] Segmentation fault while Faces detection
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426175 --- Comment #37 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- Marcel, Looking your full valgrind trace do not show any memory leak, only uninitialized values. As explain here : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2612447/pinpointing-conditional-jump-or-move-depends-on-uninitialized-values-valgrin This can be considerate as false positive and in all cases not the real case of the leak of memory from face detection. How to investigate better : 1/ always use a digiKam compiled with debug symbols using valgrind. 2/ The whole memory leak trace is generally reported at end of valgrind session, when digiKam is down. Valgrind will take time to list leak sorted by size. This part of valgrind report is missing in your trace. Gilles -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 426230] New: Joystick KCM updates values and crosshair slowly

I don't know, it's almost looks like it's smoothing the values. You can see on the video both the crosshair and the values go back to zero slowly. It makes no sense to have a KCM to test your controller if it can't show the values accurately. PS: The controller is connected through USB, not bluetooth, so it shouldn't show any delay. It works normally with games too, so I suppose this is a bug with KDE. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect game controller (the controller won't show up if the joystick KCM is already open, it needs to be reloaded to detect the controller) 2. Open up system settings and go to Input Devices >> Game Controller 3. Move analog stick OBSERVED RESULT When you look at the crosshair and the raw values, will notice they take some time to catch up with the real inputs. If you move too fast it will just skip around. Cassis =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Hello, I am not a computer scientist, you may consider that the problems exposed should be divided into several categories for specialists. I recently installed Debian10 Buster and the version of KDE Plasma which is proposed with (see above). I discover that this version of KDE is less customizable than the previous ones. 1) In particular, having a screen of 3840x2160 or resolution about 125 px/inches, I need to adjust the width of the scroll bars. The default width is too thin and I have trouble reaching the cursor. The current width, measured on a screenshot, is 5px. I would like to move to 15 to 20px. 2) The KDM window or what acts as a start screen is written in very small as if configuration settings were not taken into account. For the record, I set the Noto fonts without 16 points for my 4K screen. For the record, 16 points is a bit small for me, but at 17 points the display is incomplete or too overlapping with the top line. Also, in this window, the password input width is a little fair to be able to track if the keys are properly taken into account. My password is 13 characters. I found that sometimes the seizure of a character resulted in 3 to 5 points! (involuntary repetition) That's why I think it's necessary to be able to visualize the feedback on the keys. 3) In the system configuration panel (systemsettings5), I can't find where to install the backup screens. I tried a separate installation, but the demon takes too many resources and ends up slowing down the whole system. In the past, this used to be found either in "Workspace Behavior" or in "Energy Management. For my part, this function being closer to energy management than to normal workspace, it seems to me more logical to manage the screen savers in this section. Especially since the different waking times are in this section. So here

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426222 Bug ID: 426222 Summary: No thumbnails for XCF (GIMP) Images with more than 8 Bit precision per channel Product: digikam Version: 7.0.0 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Albums-IconView Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: d...@lachner-net.de Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 131439 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=131439=edit Test image with 32Bit floating point precision per channel GIMP 2.10 now can save XCF images with more than 8Bit Precision per channel. Digikam don't show thumbnail images for this files. I attached a test image to the bug report to reproduce this behavior. I tested this with digikam 6.4.0 (openSUSE Leap 15.1 package) and 7.0.0 (appimage). For example this images are created by the following workflow: Open RAW from digikam in GIMP 2.10 -> Rawtherapee plugin starts -> Finish work in Rawtherapee -> GIMP opens the image -> Finish work in GIMP and save as XCF Sure, it is possible to reduce the precision in GIMP but this is not really a solution. I know, I can even send this bug report to the KDE framework or Imagemagick which are used by digikam to load XCF files. It seems none of them can handle XCF files with higher precision. Btw. Is there a way to save a thumbnail as an additional file for the XCF which is than used by digikam? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ark] [Bug 426051] ark crashes when opening an encrypted 7z
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426051 Tom Moebert changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED --- Comment #2 from Tom Moebert --- No I can't, sry. The archives in question contain data that I'm not willing to share publicly, even though encrypted. Instead, I analyzed the problem myself: Ark calls the 7z executable asking it to uncrypt the archive. This doesn't work, because wrong password. Now, the 7z exec is spamming the stdout with msgs "ERROR: Data Error in encrypted file. Wrong password?" Ark says: "Oh, we've got new input on stdout? Let's handle it!" In CliInterface::readStdout() we find the wrong password message and kill the process in CliInterface::killProcess(). There we do m_process->waitForFinished, which goes back into Qt's event loop. Any more work to do? Yes! Another "ERROR: Data Error in encrypted file. Wrong password?" Great, let's handle it! We find the wrong password message, kill the process, wait again, and search for events. What comes next? Oh, another message on stdout. Let's handle it! So, if you want to kill the process, I'd suggest to disconnect() the QProcess::readyReadStandardOutput signal in CliInterface::killProcess(). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 426218] New: Pictures from old collection still in database after removing it
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426218 Bug ID: 426218 Summary: Pictures from old collection still in database after removing it Product: digikam Version: 7.1.0 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Database-Maintenance Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iwannaber...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 131437 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=131437=edit Screenshot showing the issue SUMMARY As a test, I added a folder with pictures (/home/user/Images) as a new Local collection. It scanned the pictures inside and its metadata. When I was done doing those tests, I went to the settings menu and removed the local collection. However, the pictures still appear in my database, and manually cleaning it, or the automatic cleanup on the startup does not delete them or their metadata (tags, dates, etc). I cannot see the pictures, not even their thumbnail (see attachment), but they are still shown as icons Shouldn't that action be performed immediately? How can I remove them permanently? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On existing Digikam installation, manually add new Local collection in the settings menu. 2. Wait for digikam to scan the new files and update the database 3. Delete the Local collection from the settings menu. 4. Restart digikam and wait for the startup cleanup to finish. (or, alternatively, Perform Database Cleaning on Tools/Maintenance) OBSERVED RESULT Placeholders for the old pictures are still shown, and their tags appear on the tree. EXPECTED RESULT Pictures from that collection should have been deleted from the database. This may actually be a substantial architectural defect. I'm only glancing over the code but it looks a whole lot like the way the client<->helper communication is built assumes that only one action of a single type e.g. "org.kde.foo.action" is run at any given time. Specifically the helper gets told to run an action and then informs on progress for that action via signals that only link to the request by the action name. That is why two instances of kwrite would get finished, the helper emits actionPerformed("org.kate.whatevs", {}) and both clients think their request is the one that was performed. Fixing this essentially needs the entire IPC to get changed :| Oh dear oh dear -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
