[digikam] [Bug 440197] Not loading any JPG file but load & display DNG/TIFF
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440197 --- Comment #12 from Maik Qualmann --- You have connected your NAS via FTP protocol. In this case, only linear reading of the file is possible, but programs cannot seek or rewind within the file. This is what some programs need. See the old bug report: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gvfs/-/issues/78 Your NAS provides additional protocols so that you can establish a connection at the file level, such as SMB or NFS. [digikam] [Bug 440465] Opening folder just opens the last folder, you cant open folder with other folders, like a tree.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440465 Maik Qualmann changed: What|Removed |Added CC||metzping...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Maik Qualmann --- The menu items "Open ..." and "Open folder ..." are only available in showFoto. Do you mean that? The "Open ..." entry opens a selected image and loads it into the view. Due to user requests, the other images in the folder are also loaded into the thumbnail view. The entry "Open folder ..." opens a folder and the first image is loaded into the view. Maik The behavior is similar, but not the same and so intentional. [digikam] [Bug 440197] Not loading any JPG file but load & display DNG/TIFF
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440197 --- Comment #11 from RFDupuis --- First, thank you for your detailed response in a very short time ! I am impressed. But... I dont understand your comment about fixing this issue. If I use the same computer and access the JPG files on the NAS, I see these pics no problem. I tried the same from a MacBook. So the JPG files are fine. By curiosity, I tried the same setup I use for digiKam but did use the trial version of AfterShot from Corel and I got the same result than I got with digiKam. So I agree with you that the problem do not seem to be in digikam. I notice that to access these remote file, I dont use the same path because digikam do not show me the remote drive that I mapped. This may be the problem. If digikam could show me the same remote drive that my Ubuntu or my Mac give me, the problem may not be there... I am very confuse. I sure would like to use the NAS to store my pics bu tuse digiKam to manage them. Again, I very appreciate your time on this issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 440469] New: kdeconnect fails transferring files over 2G GiB (Android to Windows)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440469 Bug ID: 440469 Summary: kdeconnect fails transferring files over 2G GiB (Android to Windows) Product: kdeconnect Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: android-application Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: ltek@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 140429 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=140429=edit File smaller than 2 GiB working SUMMARY kdeconnect fails transferring files over 2G GiB from Android to Windows 10. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a file on the Android device which is at least 2Gib (not GB) large 2. Use the send file feature to send it to a Windows 10 pc. 3. Look at the destination folder and wait for the file transfer to complete OBSERVED RESULT After the transfer completes kdeconnect reports a success on the file transfer but the file itself is not present at the destination. During the file transfer the .part file is always present. After the transfer finished the .part file is deleted but the final file is not present at the destination. Also during the whole transfer the kdeconnect file transfer windows on Windows does not report the current progress when the file size is over 2 GiB. The file size and the current amount of MiB transferred is not shown and the loading bar is only showing that the application is working but not the current progress. Android also reports a success on the file transfer. This problem / bug only occurs when the file size is larger than 2 GiB. Transferring a file with 2047 MiB works without any problems, but a file with 2048 MiB fails. EXPECTED RESULT Files larger than 2 GiB can be transferred from android to windows 10. [konqueror] [Bug 440468] New: Lynx plugin - open a new tab with konsole/lynx (if /usr/bin/lynx executable)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440468 Bug ID: 440468 Summary: Lynx plugin - open a new tab with konsole/lynx (if /usr/bin/lynx executable) Product: konqueror Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: New Plugin wishes Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org Reporter: kjf...@startmail.com Target Milestone: --- Since Konqueror is now a usable browser, is there a way to make it lovable and a viable alternative? Yes there is. Baby steps. Ok, this is not exactly a minor request. But let's stop pretending Konqueror is a general browser for everyone on every system. We have Firefox for that, so most people don't use Konqueror. That doesn't mean konqueror cannot be cool. How can Konqueror be cool? By embracing GNU/Linux fully and special use cases while keeping the browser light but good at browsing the web (thanks webengine). Am I wrong in remembering there was a way in the past to integrate a shell terminal in Konqueror. Maybe.. But this would basically be what this plugin would do, but it would also automatically launch Lynx. 1. Plugin checks if /usr/bin/lynx is executable, if no; outputs "you must have Lynx installed to use this plugin", if yes executes Lynx in a shell and puts this in a Konqueror tab. 2. Lynx and shell creates a konqueror/config-profile and use this to allow various setting variations while staying away from user Lynx/shell settings. Optionally allow loading user Lynx settings. 3. Konqeuror tab always keeps Lynx shell maximized inside the tab and controls tab geometry as it would any other tab. 4. Closing tab kills Lynx/shell. Closing Lynx kills shell and closes tab. 5. Plugin allows running multiple tab instances of Lynx/shell I can't claim that I can say how this would optimally be done and what complexities it would add. I said baby steps, because I hope it would not take too much effort to be able to do something like this, and the components already exist. At best it would just take some clever tweaks to make it happen. At worst it would require some significant changes. I chose "plugin" because I believe it doesn't have to be complex or a browser function. The main point would be to launch an instance of Lynx/shell inside the Konqueror GUI (inside a tab) and have it behave as any other tab would (geometry etc). I guess, to make it easy, it could be possible to just make it possible with a plugin that launches an instance of Konsole inside a Konqueror tab, and have it automatically launch Lynx. The main (and really only) point of this request is to be able to launch the Lynx browser in a Konqueror tab and have it seamlessly act as a tab. And to implement this in the simplest and least expansive way possible. So, what is the purpose of this? Purpose it to make Konqueror cool, and able to do cool things. That's how I first remember Konqueror. It used to be cool and able to do cool things, but eventually turned into a bad web browser and a file manager that nobody uses. Konqueror can be cool by fully embracing GNU/Linux instead of embracing the "browser software suite" concept. Konqueror can be better than other browsers in its own way, while not necessarily competing with them. In regards to Lynx, this means being able to run an ultra lightweight browser inside a lightweight browser (konq), for the purpose of use or testing or whatever. Or to be able to run Lynx in "another way" as a main browser, while complementing it with Konqueror browser functions in the same window (another tab). It's a kind of Konqueror/Lynx twin browser concept and has many different potential use cases aside from just being cool or geeky. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 440464] New: Screen rotation broken on wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440464 Bug ID: 440464 Summary: Screen rotation broken on wayland Product: kwin Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: log4...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I am unable to rotate the screen under a wayland session. The screen will always stay in non-rotated mode, regardless of which rotation I select. Sometimes, the desktop will crash and restart upon applying the setting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open display settings and under manual orientation pick 90° clockwise, counter clockwise or upside down. 2. Click Apply. OBSERVED RESULT The screen either doesn't rotate, or desktop crashes, blinking to text mode before reloading. EXPECTED RESULT The screen is rotated to selected setting. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon 5.22 (User Edition) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - The system is running on nvidia proprietary driver, version 470. - I have two displays connected and the behavior is the same on first and second one, as well as when disabling one. - I have found reports of similar issues on KDE forums in regards to Plasma 4.21 (https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=111=170833). Note that a similar bug was supposedly fixed in 1.19, so this could be a regression (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389665). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The zooming speed is perfectly fine in the X11 session, and using an actual mouse with a scroll wheel behaves fine in both the X11 and Wayland sessions. The problem is only seen with touchpad scrolling in the Wayland session. Since the view does not zoom smoothly but rather jumps from one zoom level to another, and mousewheel scrolling works on both platforms, I suspect the issue is how the zoom code transforms the scroll delta into a number of scroll ticks/zoom steps. Qt is known to handle touchpad scrolling differently on Wayland compared to X11. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 440197] Not loading any JPG file but load & display DNG/TIFF
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440197 --- Comment #7 from Maik Qualmann --- This is a very strange problem and I don't think the bug is in digiKam. First of all, Exiv2 cannot load metadata !!! Loading via the JPG extension fails !!! digiKam now checks the magic bytes and correctly finds 0xFF 0xD8 - a JPG file. The JPG Loader checks again for 0xFF 0xD8 and rewinds to the beginning of the file with rewind(). The Libjpeg now identifies the 2 following bytes 0xFF 0xE0 and of course refuses it as a JPG file. So your filesystem doesn't seem to support file positioning like rewind() for example. We could perhaps do a workaround for our JPG loader, but Exiv2 does not work with your file system either - you must repair your file system. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440457 Bug ID: 440457 Summary: Touchscreen tap on sidebar parent item does not show subcategory page Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: sidebarview Assignee: notm...@gmail.com Reporter: n...@kde.org CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Everything KDE from current git master on Wayland with a touchscreen. *Clicking* on a parent category item in the sidebar shows the subcategory page and loads its first KCM. However *tapping* the same item with a touchscreen does not show the subcategory page. The correct KCM is loaded, and the subcategory page is pushed onto the stack. However it is not automatically shown. Likely related, or with the same root cause: if you manually swipe to the subcategory page and tap the back button, it visually depresses but does not take yo back to the base page in the page stack. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 438890] kdenlive crashes when applying auto mask effect and resizing rectangle on ubuntu linux appimage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438890 --- Comment #4 from CryptoTester --- UPDATE: I've seen that "Auto Mask" -already deprecated- was removed in kdenlive 21.11.70. Also, asking for an alternative in the telegram group, a nice guy (AAron Burr) suggested me to use the "Obscure" effect, which basically does the same, it seems simpler and it doesn't crash! Does the problem also happen copying files with Dolphin? > STEPS TO REPRODUCE > 1. Create tags with Dolphin, or set extended file attributes with setfattr. > 2. Move or copy the file. > 3. Resulting file will not preserve any of the extended file attributes. > With Dolphin I added a "labelTest" tag to an "example.txt" file under Kubuntu 21.04, I used F5 in the git version of Krusader to copy that file to the same folder, and the resulting file "example2.txt" had the same attributes: $ getfattr -d example.txt # file: example.txt user.xdg.tags="labelTest" $ getfattr -d example2.txt # file: example2.txt user.xdg.tags="labelTest" Is that what you expected? Note: - That didn't work under Kubuntu 20.04, maybe because [Please add Extended Attribute support (setxattr, getxattr)](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116617) still was a problem there.
