[okular] [Bug 443055] New: Pdf File's Size Changed to 0 Bytes After Sudden Power Outage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443055 Bug ID: 443055 Summary: Pdf File's Size Changed to 0 Bytes After Sudden Power Outage Product: okular Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: jlame...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I was reading a book using Okular. I made some annotations and then pressed Ctrl+S to save the changes. Just 2 seconds after i pressed Ctrl+S there was a power outage and my pc powered off(note pc didn't have any UPS). Next when the power came back on i started my pc and found that the same pdf file is now occupying 0 bytes of space. Unfortunately, i was not using git in this case so i cannot get the old file back. I have found that there are some xml files under the folder /home/username/.local/share/okular/docdata/ that correspond to my old pdf. For example the files are named like: /home/username/.local/share/okular/docdata/4297319.NetworkProgramming.pdf.xml /home/username/.local/share/okular/docdata/4298415.NetworkProgramming.pdf.xml ... My question is that Is there a way to get back my old pdf file back using these above xml files? For example, i have an old pdf which is the same as the old pdf except that this one doesn't have any annotations in it. So Will it be possible to add these xml information into that file(that doesn't have any annotation)? I am using Ubuntu 18.04 x86_64 and Okular 1.3.3 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 442929] Header and footer incorrectly draw corners
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442929 --- Comment #2 from doncb...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > We would probably need to ask for different SVGs, or make that SVG into a > 9-grid style one and make the theming engine choose corners dynamically > based on instructions from each applet that uses it. No SVGs have to be changed, plasmoidheading is already made in a 9x9 grid. Based on what I see, it appears that a rectangle is made from the 9 parts and it just resizes to fit the area of the header/footer. It does not appear to omit sides when the parent dialog has done so, so the 8 parts of the frame are always drawn. This means that the footer of a a plasmoid (say kickoff) has its bottom border drawn when the plasmoid itself is attached to the panel below it, even though the plasmoid has removed its bottom border. I am unsure if this functionality will harm themes that take advantage of always having the entire frame shown, so an option to decide whether to draw the entire frame or not may be warranted. Without such an option, only floating plasmoids will have the entire frame of the header/footer drawn. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Since the CLI > tool works for you, it seems like you have a supported kernel and hardware. I had been using Linux Mint Cinnamon for about a year and a half and then switched due to an issue with VMware Workstation performance. On Linux Mint Cinnamon and on my current distribution, Pop!_OS (System 76) Distributor ID: Pop Description:Pop!_OS 21.04 Release:21.04 Codename: hirsute Whenever I copy or move a file the progress bar is always on top and I am unable to minimize it. In between the Linux Mint Cinnamon and the Pop!_OS installations I ran Kubuntu. While using Kubuntu I experienced the behavior that I would expect from the copy / move progress bar. I was able to minimize the progress bar so that it was unobtrusive / out of the way. So, why is it that the progress bar can be minimized on Kubuntu, but not on other Linux distros? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Copy or move any file 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Unable to minimize the progress bar EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 442921] Icons in task manager shrink too much, too abruptly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442921 --- Comment #2 from David --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Icons do not smoothly scale because this would cause them to get blurry at > the smaller sizes in particular; rather, they snap between the following > pre-defined sizes: > > 16px > 22px > 32px > 48px > 64px > 128px > > As you can see, there are some pretty big jumps between sizes especially at > the higher end of this scale. But typically people don't use icons that > large in their Task Managers. Can you maybe attach a screen recording that > shows the icon scaling behavior you're seeing which also shows the height of > your panel? Was playing with it again, now I noticed that the issue does not happen while launching apps that add icons, but while triggering actions that widen existing widgets (such as playing a file with a long name while having the “media player compact” widget), and also when changing the settings for maximum number of rows and clicking "Apply". And by the way they do scale and have many sizes inbetween those. The problem is particularly once they shrink below 16px. When adding icons by launching apps, they then start overlapping once shrunk enough, but when shrunk by other means, they shrink too much. In any case, even when adding icons by launching apps, they shrink more than necessary (for example, after reaching 20px or so, they continue shrinking as I add more icons despite roughly 1/4 of the panel space being free), and the icons are the only thing that shrinks, while latte also shrinks other widgets (which looks better as some widgets have too much space inbetween when put next to each other in a plasma panel compared to a latte dock). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
