[digikam] [Bug 453275] Renaming files is not folder aware, even with folder aware option
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453275 --- Comment #5 from Maik Qualmann --- Numbering with ###[f] respects the folder. For example, if you selected 3 files from different folders, without the 'f' option, the numbering would look like this: 001, 002, 003. [plasma-systemmonitor] [Bug 453283] ksystemstatsd starts nvidia-smi, which prevents GPU from entering powersave on offline use
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453283 --- Comment #1 from Matti Rintala --- I made a small mistake in my testing, so a clarification is in order: If I don't use *any* GPU sensors (in System Monitor or System Monitor widget), then nvidia-smi is not started. But if I include any sensors from the AMD iGPU (like its temperature), it seems that nvidia-smi is started even though no Nvidia sensors are used. (I tried by adding AMD GPU temperature to System monitor widger, then logged out and in again. That started nvidia-smi in the background.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KDE Itinerary] [Bug 453321] New: Show all seats and names directly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453321 Bug ID: 453321 Summary: Show all seats and names directly Product: KDE Itinerary Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Android 11.x Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: vkra...@kde.org Reporter: c...@chilliet.eu Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The application shows a drop-down with names of passengers, and you have to switch from one to another to see all the seats. I always have 3 seats in the same coach and it is really annoying to have to do this to see where we should seat. I understand that for the qr code you cannot show all 3 of them, but it would be better if we could swap right/left between the passengers rather than having to click a precise thing twice (while turning the phone to the controller machine, so the easiers the gesture the better). But for the seat numbers it would really make more sense to see all of them at once. There is a challenge on how to show this when they are not all on the same coach, and how to map the seats to the names if needed, but that should not be too hard. Maybe put in bold the current coach and seat for the selected name? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451975 Côme Chilliet changed: What|Removed |Added CC||c...@chilliet.eu --- Comment #4 from Côme Chilliet --- Hello, I second the need to be able to send information to the calendar from the Android application. I use KDE Itinerary for SNCF tickets, which are not attached to the email they send. So, instead I download the ticket to a folder sync through Nextcloud, and on my phone I import the ticket with the app. This way all the information is in the app (and I have the original ticket as a fallback on my phone, I would like it if KDE itinerary stored the original PDF and allowed to consult it, but that’s another subject). Committed on 02/05/2022 at 20:15. Pushed by eoinoneill into branch 'master'. Fixes Specific Color Picker docker from expanding when switching between HSV/RGB The previous code sets the RGB sliders to visible, then hides the HSV sliders. For a split second, the docker is expanded due to the sliders being doubled up. This makes it appear that docker had bloated. The bug occurs when the Specific Color Selector is in a floating state and squished as small as it can be, then switching from HSV to RGB causes it to expand slightly. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450914 kodatar...@yahoo.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kodatar...@yahoo.com --- Comment #15 from kodatar...@yahoo.com --- Hmm, there seems to be something more going on with it - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453268 this suggests that if the app remains in windowed mode and keeps it's border's it'll fix it, while for some cases it works it's not always the case. KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT does manage to fix Retroarch for example, but most xwayland apps still have some weird syncing going on. For example using 2 displays one 165hz and one 144hz, the syncing gets confused and results in horrible timings on the main monitor. [Skanlite] [Bug 453318] New: Scanner access not working with Canon PIXMA TR8520 device
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453318 Bug ID: 453318 Summary: Scanner access not working with Canon PIXMA TR8520 device Product: Skanlite Version: 22.04.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kare.s...@iki.fi Reporter: natalym...@rocketmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** I have a Canon PIXMA TR8520 multifunction device which comes with is a scanner, printer, copier and fax machine all-in-one system. Ubuntu 22.04 automatically installed a driver that is working with its printing function, so that I can send documents to my printer through the USB port. Yet, it appears that it did not automatically install scanner support for my device. So, when I open this Skanlite application on my desktop, I get an error message saying: "Sorry. No devices found. The SANE (Scanner Access Made Easy) could not find any device. Check that your scanner is plugged in and turned on or check your scanner setup." I tried to resolve this error message by looking up my scanner in the SANE project's website to find out what package I needed to install in my computer, in order to get it to work. By doing that, I discovered that sane-escl.5 works with my Canon PIXMA TR8520 scanner. (I found this information at http://sane-project.org/man/sane-escl.5.html.) Then, I tried to find out what I could install in order to get sane-escl.5 installed in my system. So, I found a page in the Ubuntu manual that told me that sane-escl.5 was included in libsane-common package. I made sure that this library is installed in my system, but it still won't work! I had permissions set for this application in the software store and gave it permission to do what it needed to do. So, that was not the issue! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. I open this Skanlite application on my desktop and, 2. I get an error message saying: "Sorry. No devices found. The SANE (Scanner Access Made Easy) could not find any device. Check that your scanner is plugged in and turned on or check your scanner setup." 3. I press the "reload devices list" button and, 4. I get the same error again. OBSERVED RESULT I cannot use the Skanlite application to access my Canon PIXMA TR8520 scanner that I have connected to my computer via USB. EXPECTED RESULT I was able to use my scanner with Ubuntu Linux up through version 21.10. I would like to still be able to do that and, I would like to be able to use the Skanlite application to do so, because, unlike many other scanner applications, it is marked as safe, in the software store. [kwin] [Bug 449957] KWin crash in KWin::PlacementArea() when turning off or unplugging monitor with windows on it
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449957 --- Comment #21 from phrxmd --- Potentially important information: I can connect/disconnect the external monitor *as long as there are no windows on it*. A Plasma panel seems to be fine. However, as soon as there is an application window on the disconnected output, I get this crash. In my regular work setup I would always have windows on the output because it's my main monitor; I'm now testing this in a road warrior setting with a projector, and here I can reproducibly crash KWin by putting a window on the projector and then disconnecting it, while the projector disconnects just fine as long as there is no window there. It seems like KWin tries to redraw the windows on the lost output by placing them on the remaining outputs, and that the crash happens during the recalculation of the placement coordinates. As long as there is nothing to place, there is no crash. (Subject line edited accordingly) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 453314] New: When changing display resolutions, desktop icons should try to keep the same position as much as possible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453314 Bug ID: 453314 Summary: When changing display resolutions, desktop icons should try to keep the same position as much as possible Product: plasmashell Version: 5.24.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Desktop Containment Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: tomash...@gmail.com CC: notm...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 This is a follow-up bug to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360478 and a sister bug to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453141 (which concerns widgets, this concerns desktop icons) Previously, when changing resolutions, icons and widgets positioning would get scrambled. Now, Plasma remembers layouts for each resolution, but that still leaves two problems: 1) Icons still get scrambled once per new resolution. 2) When icon gets moved in one resolution, it is not moved in other resolutions. Therefore, I think the behvaiour when changing resolution should be modified as follows: 1. Unless manually moved, icons are always top aligned (this is the current state). User can change whether they are left-or right align (also current state). This sets "corner alignment". 2. When resolution changes, a test should be made whether each icon is still visible on screen. 3a. If an icon is is visible and it has not been automatically moved in a previous resolution change, keep it where it is. 3b. If an icon is is visible and it has been automatically moved in previous resolution, move it back where it was previously. 4. If an icon is not visible, test whether there is a saved resolution with a saved position of this icon. 5a. If yes, place it to that saved position. 5b. If not, place the icon to the opposite corner of the "alignment corner", starting with icons that are th furthest from the "alignmnet corner", respecting whether icons are sorted into columns or rows. The rationale: I think nobody wants icons to dissapper and most or all people want to keep placement of the icons as much as possible across different resolutions. The above logic would solve the current state when moving icon in one resolution is not preserved into another resolution. I will try to illustrate it with a diagram. Lets have a 4x4 grid of icons. Numbers are positions, letters are icons: A B 3 4 C D 7 8 9 10 E 12 13 14 G H When the alignment is top left and into columns, transforming to 3x3 would yield this: AB G CD H 78E (H and G went off screen, so they get automatically re-arranged, from bottom right corner, which is opposite to the "alignment corner", starting with H, which was the most "off screen"), number 9 is occupied, so it i placed on 8, then G on 7 - if there was another icon, it would have gone to 8 and 7). When the alignment is top left and into rows, transforming to 3x3 would yield this: AB3 CD6 GH E (the same as above, but now G and H are rearranged into rows, not columns) Now imagine we move icons as follows (from the previous example with rows): AB H CD E G8 9 (so H and E were moved from 8 and 9 respecitvely to 3 and 6 - a property would need to be added tha would record whether placement is manual or automatic - only automatically placed icons would change place when going back to a higher resolution) Now going back to 4x4 would give: A B H 4 C D E 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 G 16 (note H and E staying i their place set in 3x3, but G is rearranged). An obvious question is what should happen when we have 4x4 grid and more than 16 icons. Actually, I think then a scrollbar is a good solution. Also, I played with the current implementation a bit more 1) When one changes Alignment in "Desktop folder settings > Icons", it behaves in funny ways. It seems to just flip X and Y coordinates. Previously, it would rearrange icons so they would all fit onto the screen. Now it happilly introduces scrollbars. I think it should behave according to the logic above using the property "manually|automatically placed" and should only change the position of automatically placed icons. Further, it should not just flip their X and Y coordinates, but fill them one by one onto the visible untaken-by-other-icons area starting from the alignmnet corner (roughly the behaviour before this patch). The more I think about it, the property "manually|automatically placed" is quite crucial. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
