[kwin] [Bug 361154] Running native OpenGL games - with compositing enabled - breaks X11 Plasma 5.6.0 Window Decorations

2016-04-12 Thread Martin Gräßlin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361154

Thanks for the log! There are two things in the log which I consider
suspicious:
* lots of "QPainter::restore: Unbalanced save/restore" - that's probably the
breeze deco
* QOpenGLContext::swapBuffers() called with non-exposed window, behavior is
undefined

the latter must be from Qt, we don't use that in the rendering path, so
hopefully should not matter.

Let's focus on the first issue: maybe try a different window decoration?

After looking twice I was small difference

so I'm adding the last one

[krita] [Bug 361701] New: Hand cursor won't go away if mirroring is turned off

2016-04-12 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361701

Bug ID: 361701
Summary: Hand cursor won't go away if mirroring is turned off
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0 Alpha
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: u...@null.net

When I use the mirror tool and change the position of the mirroring divider,
the hand cursor will not disappear when my move my cursor away from the
divider. I've noticed that the brush size outline is still visible under the
hand if my brush is big enough to not be obscured by it. The only way to make
the hand go away is to restart Krita altogether.

After attempting to reproduce the problem, I found that it only happens with my
tablet's pen (in my case, a Cintiq 12WX). The cursor disappears if I move the
divider with my mouse.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Turn on mirroring. I've only ever used the horizontal mirroring, so I'm not
sure if this happens with the vertical.
2. Use my tablet's pen to move the mirror divider around.

Actual Results:
The open hand cursor does not disappear and obscures the brush size cursor.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

With older versions of Konversation, using Alt- to select one of the first
10 tabs worked while leaving the tablist scroll wherever it previously was,
even if the new tab was not visible in the list. With 1.6, however, the tab
list is scrolled if necessary to make the tab item visible when switching to
it. I much prefer the old behaviour.

 CC||akarsh.si...@kdemail.net

Dear Rob

I'm sorry that this is happening. Such an issue is rather hard to debug, unless
we can find out what KStars is doing / spending time on. If we can isolate the
problem a bit more and find what can be disabled to prevent this, we could
introduce a patch that has timers to further trace the issue.

The other option, if it works is to run KStars on valgrind with callgrind, keep
the machinery off until the problem begins, and then turn on the machinery to
investigate what KStars is spending most of its time.

I didn't read this anywhere in your post, but have you tried turning off the
simulation clock? Does that have any impact? I had a similar issue a while ago
with simulation clock running. If the simulation clock being off ameliorates
the problem, a temporary solution would be to keep it off and update the time
once every minute using a DBus command like this:

while true; do qdbus org.kde.kstars /KStars org.kde.kstars.setTimeToNow; sleep
55; done;

[krita] [Bug 361698] New: Brush Tip Misalignment in the Preview Window when using Monoprice Tablet

2016-04-12 Thread Sam Keeper via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361698

Bug ID: 361698
Summary: Brush Tip Misalignment in the Preview Window when
using Monoprice Tablet
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0 Alpha
  Platform: Windows CE
   URL: http://stormingtheivory.tumblr.com/post/142710470765/t
rying-to-document-a-minor-bug-in-krita-for-some
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Brush engine
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: unusualc...@aol.com

The brush appears to be misaligned in the brush preview window when using a
Monoprice tablet. In the linked image you can see that the cursor seems to be
offset from where the brush is actually painting by quite a few pixels
diagonally. In the second image you can see painting with the mouse--the brush
is NOT misaligned in this case. Thankfully, the brush also is apparently NOT
misaligned on the actual canvas, JUST on the preview window.

I am running this on Windows 8.1 using a Monoprice with UC-Logic drivers,
version 8.0.2015.204.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See system and driver notes
2. Open Edit Brush Settings
3. Paint in the preview window with a standard mouse and with a stylus; note
whether the cursor tip aligns with the center of the brush area.

Actual Results:
Brush tip appears to be consistently misaligned.

You probably miss a KDE library.
FWIW: shortcuts are not necessarily the same on different desktop interfaces,
Amarok being a KDE based application, please make sure you have a full
installation of all KDE libraries needed for the shortcuts.
FWIW2: no problems making shortcuts with KDE 4.x, so this is desktop dependent.

Having an indicator that there are additional windows hidden behind a taskbar
entry does make sense (as it prevents any "Huh, where did my window go?" kind
of situations).
The problem is just that in tiny panels (I'm impressed that you can actually
work with such a tiny panel!), the application icon becomes tiny but the
indicator keeps its size, thus covering the whole icon.

The indicator should therefore scale with the icon. That does mean that at some
point it becomes invisible, but as long as it's visible in the default panel
height, I don't see much of a problem with that.

2016-04-12 Thread Thomas Pfeiffer via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 361695
Summary: Rating star should use the theme's highlight color

   Product: Breeze
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Icons
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org

The rating star is currently yellow, which which isn't a commonly used color in
Breeze-themed applications and therefore makes it difficult to integrate them
smoothly into an overall design
They should instead use the color scheme's highlight color (which is blue in
Breeze).
See for example https://community.kde.org/File:Mockup-A-1.png

[dolphin] [Bug 361694] New: The search (Find) function in Dolphin is useless, doesn't return results as it should

2016-04-12 Thread Abderrahman Najjar via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361694

Bug ID: 361694
Summary: The search (Find) function in Dolphin is useless,
doesn't return results as it should
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 15.12.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: search
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: abderrahman.naj...@gmail.com

Find in Dolphin is almost completely useless. This is has been filed many times
here, and a simple Google search returns many similar complaints.

There are some workaround proposed, but they don't work. Bug 356737 says it's
FIXED in 15.2 (back in December 2015)

baloosearch status returns "Baloo File Indexer is running
Indexer state: Idle
Indexed 37207 / 37209 files
Current size of index is 217.45 MiB"

However, / has 337657 files. Searching for files even if they're in the same
dir the Find is opened in doesn't return results (or turns less than it
should), even without complex terms (like a filename that's one word)

Reproducible: Always

[plasmashell] [Bug 361692] New: Clock doesn't update while compositing is off

2016-04-12 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361692

Bug ID: 361692
Summary: Clock doesn't update while compositing is off
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Digital Clock
  Assignee: mklape...@kde.org
  Reporter: tamius@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

When I start a game that disables compositing (e.g. CSGO, XCOM:EU/EW, Civ 5),
the digital clock stops updating at all. If I launch a game that disables
compositing at, say, 18:30, the digital clock in my panel will display 18:30
until the moment I quit game and compositing becomes enabled — regardless of
whether I've played for 15 minutes or 6 hours.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch a game that disables compositing (e.g. Counter Strike)
2. Note the time
3. Play the game for some time, e.g. one competitive match (or ten)
4. Tab out of the game (or don't run the game in full screen in the first
place)

Actual Results:
Clock displays time from few hours ago (depends on how long you were playing)

Expected Results:
Clock displays current time.

2016-04-12 Thread Sergio Martins via KDE Bugzilla

contains(QL1S) and indexOf( QL1S) are 30% slower than their QString
counterparts, last time I measured.
It was caused by some fromLatin1_helper() calls, or something like that (I
don't recall the exact name)

A workaround would be to disable this logging category by putting a line like

kscreen.xcb.helper=false

in your ~/.config/QtProject/qtlogging.ini.

The root cause seems to be X acting weird, but I'll let Dan comment on that.

[digikam] [Bug 361689] New: Provide a real (and simple) full screen mode

2016-04-12 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361689

Bug ID: 361689
Summary: Provide a real (and simple) full screen mode
   Product: digikam
   Version: 4.12.0
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums View
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: y...@riseup.net

I just switched to digikam from f-spot and it's really great! But one important
thing I miss is a real (!) full screen mode. I know that I can enter into that
mode and then hide the sidebars. But that requires a couple of clicks (not
simple) and still leaves some controls (not really full screen). My favorite
would be that double clicking on an image in album mode leads me to the image
and then another double click to a full screen view of that image.

Are there any plans for that? Would be really great! Or am I missing something?
In that case this feature request would be for better documentation and UI. ;)

Reproducible: Always

Hi There

I just tried this myself on Muon 5.4.2 I allowed the Authentication popup to
sit awaiting my password for 30 seconds, and it all worked.

Recently changes took place to Muon - splitting out Discover, and others.
Leaving just Muon ( aka Muon Package Manager )

Is your bug talking about the same thing ?

We welcome bug reports, and it would really help us lots if you could provide
more detail when reporting

[krita] [Bug 361619] Input event lag/drop-out when OpenGL is ON with large window

Hi, Tyson!

Can I ask you to record a video with the slowdown? Activate crosshair cursor +
brush brush outline dispay, so I could see the real delay.

I would also like to know, what happens if you activate openGL performance
logging and do a very long stroke (20-30 seconds long). Do you see any "glSync
effectiveness" lines in the terminal output?

[plasmashell] [Bug 361437] startkde -> startplasmacompositor -> startkde = "blackscreen"

2016-04-12 Thread James via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361437

Ok - finally - yes "export $(dbus-launch)" - BUT - apparently there is a
running:
 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --session --address=systemd: --nofork --nopidfile
--systemd-activation

that comes up with "startkde" that plasmashell cannot use. So, instead, first
kill the running dbus-daemon, then run:
 export $(dbus-launch)

and then run plasmashell, and it works again.

There is some odd relationship to startplasmacompositor, in that running
plasmacompositor causes the subsequent startkde to start a dbus-daemon that
plasmashell cannot use, with "connection refused" messages in the log.

After starting and then exiting from startplasmacompositor, there are:
$ ps waxl|grep dbus-daemon

[digikam] [Bug 361686] New: When returning from full screen to preview mode the same image should be selected/shown.

2016-04-12 Thread Simon via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361686

Bug ID: 361686
Summary: When returning from full screen to preview mode the
same image should be selected/shown.
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.0.0
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Preview
  Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: freisi...@gmail.com

When I look at images in preview mode, then change to full screen mode, switch
through some images and end up with another than I started with, then end full
screen mode, the initial image is presented. The expected and useful behavior
would be, that the last viewed image in full screen is selected when returning
to preview mode.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to preview mode and from there switch to full screen.
2. Change the image.
3. Return to preview mode.

Actual Results:
The image from step 1 is selected/shown.

Expected Results:
The last viewed image in full screen mode should be selected/shown.

Affects me also. Not the same behaviour though. "Logout" button works fine. But
when I press "Restart" button, the whole interface freezes while mouse cursor i
still moving and when you click anywhere - nothing happens. The only thing i
could do was pressing Ctrl-Alt-F2 and in 'top' see ksmserver eating 100% cpu.

from the root window (which I guess is the same as the desktop window?).

I'm trying to accumulate damaged regions so that I can scrape only pixels that
have changed, then encode and transmit them over the network to remote the
desktop.

[amarok] [Bug 361685] New: Global shortcuts not functional under Xfce4

2016-04-12 Thread John Doe via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361685

Bug ID: 361685
Summary: Global shortcuts not functional under Xfce4
   Product: amarok
   Version: 2.8.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Shortcuts
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: puga...@leeching.net

When using Xfce4, it is impossible to set any global shortcut.

This happens after a fresh install of amarok.

After opening the "configure shortcuts" window, if you try to set any global
shortcut then nothing happens.
Basically, I click on the little arrow, then I have two choices: default or
custom. The custom option is selected.
If I try to click on default option nothing happens (even if the default option
has a defined key combination).
If I try to set a custom shortcut by clicking on the "None" button, then the
button text changes to "Input...", after that I type in the key combination,
but after I release the keys, the button text is reset to "None".

When I run amarok --debug, I see no particular message when trying to set the
global shortcuts.

When starting amarok, however I see these messages:
http://pastebin.com/raw/G86nQrtx

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open amarok's: Configure shortcuts
2. Try to set a global shortcut
3. Nothing happens

Actual Results:
Nothing...

Expected Results:
Should set the global shortcut
