2016-06-27 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla

Preview render seems to be working, now. I'll do some more extensive tests, but
the functionality is good enough to close this bug.

Just need to fix the zone tool above the timeline shrinking when there's a
preview render, and this bug will be resolved.

[kdenlive] [Bug 364837] New: High CPU usage when kdenlive window is on top

2016-06-27 Thread BobSCA via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364837

Bug ID: 364837
Summary: High CPU usage when kdenlive window is on top
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 15.12.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: bobs_spa...@cox.net

When kdenlive is the top window and idle, high CPU utilization occurs as
follows:
compiz:100%
Xorg: 25%.
kdenlive: 15%

Observed on kdenlive 15.12.3 and 16.07.70.
Opening any dialog in kdenlive, e.g. "New" or "Open" dialogs, drops CPU usage
to normal values while those dialogs remain open.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start kdenlive.
2. Start "top" in a terminal window.
3. Position the two windows so that both can be seen, with kdenlive having the
focus.

Actual Results:
High CPU utilization as described above.

Expected Results:
Normal idle CPU utilization (typically no task >5%).

Running on a Windows 8.1 host in a Ubuntu VirtualBox VM with 3D acceleration
disabled.

If 3D acceleration is enabled in the VM, then CPU usage is reduced to:
compiz: 17%
Xorg: 12%
kdenlive: 15%

[plasmashell] [Bug 364835] New: Permissions on breeze background.png cause SDDM Login screen blank - sddm-helper exit with 6

2016-06-27 Thread Gerald Cox via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 364835
Summary: Permissions on breeze background.png cause SDDM Login
screen blank - sddm-helper exit with 6
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Look & Feel package
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gb...@bzb.us
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

Please refer to Fedora downstream bug here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1350107
and SDDM bug here:
https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/651

Use of sddm-breeze fails because of permissions on background.png.

I'm using the breeze theme. What I found was that the other themes worked
fine. I then did a compare between the 01-breeze-fedora theme and the breeze
theme. What I found was that the permissions on the file:

/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/components/artwork/background.png
/usr/share/sddm/themes/01-breeze-fedora/components/artwork/background.png

were different. In the 01-breeze-fedora version it was 777, in the breeze
version (which has the issue) it is 644. Apparently, that is the issue.

I changed the permissions for:
/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/components/artwork/background.png
to 777

2016-06-27 Thread Xavion via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 364834
Summary: SVG icons are no longer displayed; please roll back
any recent changes
   Product: kdeplasma-addons
   Version: 5.6.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Dashboard
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: xavio...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I've been noticing recently that SVG icons are no longer displayed in the
Application Dashboard.

As an example, download and install 'pCloud', preferably via Arch Linux' AUR
repository: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pcloud/

You'll notice that, instead of the proper pCloud icon, the default (blank page)
icon is shown in the Application Dashboard.

Reproducible: Always

[kdenlive] [Bug 364833] New: Crash when adding .wtv (Windows Media Center) clip.

2016-06-27 Thread BobSCA via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364833

Bug ID: 364833
Summary: Crash when adding .wtv (Windows Media Center) clip.
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 16.04.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: bobs_spa...@cox.net

Attempting to add a video clip from Windows Media Center (.wtv) causes a crash.

I've tested with two different files - a 1 hour and a 1 minute file. Both files
play OK in both FFplay and melt. They also load instantly and play fine in
kdenlive 0.9.6.

The following results are for Kdenlive version 16.07.70 (not a choice in above
dropdown).

1 minute file: Causes an immediate crash. Dump shown below.

1 hour file: Causes the screen to go gray, with some pretty scary noises like
I've never heard coming from the hard drive. It's a loud continuous vibration
at roughly 20 Hz. Even after I close the greyed-out kdenlive window, the
kdenlive and FFplay tasks continue to run and the hard drive noise continues.
Killing the FFplay task also kills the kdenlive task and stops the hard drive
noise.

In kdenlive 15.12.3, loading these files fails for a different (?) reason –
they create many (infinite?) clips in the project bin with repeated "Multi
Stream Clip" dialogs, taking about 1 minute to load each iteration with lots of
grey-screen time in between.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load a .wfv file created by Windows Media Player. Sample file available at
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52261998/kdenlive_crash_1.wtv.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Crash.

Expected Results:
Not crash.

I did several tests here with Kaffeine 2.0.3 and didn't notice any problem with
DVB life view and changing the system clock. I even did instant records and
paused/played the stream a few times, without noticing any problems.

As this bug was reported against a version we're no longer maintained, and
version 2.0.x has huge changes since version 1.2.x, I'm closing this bug.

Please ignore this comment. It was meant for another BZ. Re-opening it, as I
didn't check if this issue still happens on version 2.0.x.

This was a bug related to passing parameters for DVB-S/S2 to libdvb5. This was
already solved at the -git version. I should be releasing a new version this

[plasmashell] [Bug 364832] New: Calendar widget displayed as icon on the desktop

2016-06-27 Thread Lastique via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364832

Bug ID: 364832
Summary: Calendar widget displayed as icon on the desktop
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Calendar
  Assignee: mklape...@kde.org
  Reporter: andy...@mail.ru
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

When I add the Calendar widget on the desktop, the widget is displayed as an
icon instead of the calendar.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on the desktop, click Add Widgets.
2. Select the Calendar widget and drag it on the desktop.

Actual Results:
The widget is displayed as an icon instead of the actual calendar.

Expected Results:
The actual calendar should be displayed.

Kubuntu 16.04, x86_64. Nvidia drivers 367.27.

The widget worked initially on this system. At some point I was re-configuring
widgets on the desktop, removed the calendar and added again. That's when the
widget broke. Now I'm having this problem and see no way to fix it. Removing
~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and re-configuring the
desktop doesn't help - the widget still doesn't work.

Sorry, but we're no longer maintained Kaffeine 1.3.x upstream. There were lots
of change since it to Kaffeine 2.x, including the library changes from qt4 to
qt5 and from KDE4 to KF5.

I did a quick test on Kaffeine 2.0.3+git to check if selecting a channel by
typing its number works, and it seems to be working fine there. If the bug
still happens upstream, please re-open.

Ok, thanks for the example. I think I fixed the problem in commit

[dolphin] [Bug 364831] New: Create a Dolphin Service to manage LUKS encrypted file containers

2016-06-27 Thread alessz via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364831

Bug ID: 364831
Summary: Create a Dolphin Service to manage LUKS encrypted file
containers
   Product: dolphin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@openafre.info

Let's develop a dolphin service that deals with managing luks encrypted file
images ala truecrypt. I don't think something like this exists. This would be a
real handy service for people that want to get away from using truecrypt.

Use case 1: Create luks encrypted file image
* define size (eg. 10 MB) name and location through an dolphin action.
* choose passphrase
* create container and mount right away

Use case 2: Mount luks encrypted file image
* context menu on file container. "Mount encrypted image"

I would be happy to help but I am not a C++ developer I have to admin ;-)

Reproducible: Always

Did this manually and it seems to work. But I don't know if other parts of the
code may get confused about this fake album.

I don't really understand the mechanism of hints for now. Just calling
deleteStaleAlbums() unconditionally will do, what you're suggesting. Maybe this
is overkill and we can hook this in another place better.

[kdenlive] [Bug 364106] git master - Preview render not working & Adding preview zone makes in-out zone area real small

2016-06-27 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364106

Kdenlive is supposed to detect the best matching profile. It may fail if the
profile uses a codec unsupported by your FFmpeg version. Can you check if that
is the case ?

In a terminal, type:

ffmpeg -formats | grep dnxhd

If the DNxHD codec is supported, you should see a line like that at the end of
the output:

DE dnxhd raw DNxHD (SMPTE VC-3)

I investigated the second comment by running the requested test. After fixing
a bug that was found found with some missing register support, it ran fine.
After some private discussions with Julian, the is_BCDstring(),
increment_BCDstring(), and the support for bcdctz., bcdctn., bcdcfz., bcdcfn.,
bcdsetsgn.instructions were reimplemented using clean helpers.

The minor comments:.
There is no change in the functions, putCR321 and putCR0. They were unswapped
so there is no change in the patch.

The duplicated code was replaced with a temp.

The typos were fixed.

Note, it was found that one of the instructions in the test suite was missing.
The test suite was updated.

The VEX support patch and test suite patch have been updated.

[kdenlive] [Bug 364827] New: git master - library widget isn't working. Can't add clips to library, then add them to timeline in another project

2016-06-27 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364827

Bug ID: 364827
Summary: git master - library widget isn't working. Can't add
clips to library, then add them to timeline in another
project
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com

When I add clips in the library from one project, then open a different project
and try to add that .mlt library file to the timeline, nothing happens. The
status bar says audio thumnail creation done, but the clips don't show up.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a project, add clips to timeline, then select them and click "Add
selection to Library" in the library widget.
2. Close project, open a different project.
3. Go to the library widget, left-click the .mlt file you want to add, then
click "Add clip to Project" button.

Actual Results:
Status bar shows, "Audio Thumbnails done", but nothing else happens. Clips
don't import.

Expected Results:
Clips should import into the timeline -- at the timeline position cursor, I
think would be best... or wherever the clips were in the timeline of their
original project... not sure which would be best.

[kdenlive] [Bug 364825] New: git master - suggest not automatically highlighting "Properties" widget when a clip is selected in the timeline

2016-06-27 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364825

Bug ID: 364825
Summary: git master - suggest not automatically highlighting
"Properties" widget when a clip is selected in the
timeline
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com

There have been a small number of annoyances when working with a project in
Kdenlive using specific layouts, mainly because the Properties widget comes up
automatically when a clip is selected in the timeline.

Now, I know this is the way it's been for a long time, but, in my opinion, I
think it would be better to not have it automatically pop up, anymore. I
believe it inhibits the user's ability to navigate the way that fits their
workflow best.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add clip to timeline
2. Select clip in timeline

Actual Results:
The Properties widget automatically appears above all other tabs, showing the
properties of effects of the clip.

Expected Results:
I'm suggesting it not pop up above all others automatically, but instead behave
like all other widgets: highlighted when chosen/clicked on.

I cannot confirm. It works for me. Do you happen to have your system locked
down through KIOSK restricftions?
