Segfault, with the patch applied on detect faces only

Once I rebuilt digikam with debugging enabled, I ran it through gdb with
detecting faces only.
It failed fairly quickly with a segfault, and I have attached the log here.

Right now I am running the same through Valgrind, but it might be a while
before it crashes.

FYI
Running: Win10 64bit French

The installer 5.0.0-1 published on http://download.kde.org/stable/digikam/
gives the 0x...7b error
The installer 5.0.0 published on google drive is working fine
The installer 5.0.0-2 published on google drive is also working fine

Regarding the installation location it seems that it remember the last install
path.
1st tried the 5.0.0-1 and it detected v4 in x86 folder. After uninstallation it
asked to install in the same location (x86). Which I manually changed.
After installation I got the error message and tried to reinstall the same
v5.0.0-1, it removed itself and then asked to be installed in the same folder.

  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

On UBUNTU 16.04 when I load a file which was created with wordquiz in Ubuntu
12.04, only the first 20 entries of the quiz are shown.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open kwordquiz on Ubuntu 16.04
2. Open kvtml file with greater than 20 entires (note, file was made using
version that was available with 12.04 in 2012
3. Only 20 questions are displayed when file should have over 100

Actual Results:
Only 20 questions are displayed when file should have over 100

Expected Results:
Entire file with 200 plus questions is displayed

The quiz file was created in 2012 and functioned normally at that time. Trying
to use today and it does not work on kwordquiz with Ubuntu 16.04. I even tried
installing the full kubuntu desktop and the results did not change. I was able
to re-produce this error on different machines using 16.,04.

[digikam] [Bug 365202] External MySQL database faces update segfault [patch]

2016-07-09 Thread Evert Vorster via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365202

Hey there...
Unfortunately, that patch did not stop the crashing.
With just scanning for faces, it got about 6% through my collection of 30,000
photos ( 160Gb ) before crashing again. This time it's not a segfault, but the
program halts with this weird error:
digikam.dbengine: Prepare failed!
digikam.dbengine: Failure executing query:
"SELECT orientation FROM ImagaInformation WHERE imageid=?;"
Error messages: "QMYSQL3: Unable to prepare statement" "MySQL server has gone
away" 2006 2
Bound values: ()

One thing worth noticing though, is that I also tried to scan and recognize
faces, and it zipped through that entire collection in seconds, and did not
find a single face.

Just recognizing faces on their own seems to work fine, however.

I'll start building digikam with debugging enabled, and see if I can track this
one down.,

I have code that will allow any font to be picked which should help you. It

I'm a bit concerned people will start picking non monospaced fonts and the

[kholidays] [Bug 365310] New: Cannot turn off display of holidays in Digital Clock widget after kholidays installed as a required package

2016-07-09 Thread Ron Willhoite via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365310

Bug ID: 365310

widget after kholidays installed as a required package
   Product: kholidays

  Platform: Archlinux Packages

During package upgrade, a new required dependency, kholidays, was installed.

Clicking on the Digital Clock widget now displays a large area with nothing in
it but the date and "No events for today" to the left of the calendar.

I checked Digital Clock settings, and see no way to turn off this off.

Not sure if this is a packaging issue on the Arch side or intended behavior by
KDE.

[plasmashell] [Bug 365308] New: Left clicking on some system tray icons results in no action

2016-07-09 Thread Jared Sutton via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 365308
Summary: Left clicking on some system tray icons results in no
action
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: jpsut...@gmail.com

Left-clicking certain icons in the system tray which are displayed by some
applications (e.g., Google's Hangouts extension for Chrome, Slack's desktop
application) seems to perform no visible action. Performing the same action
with the same applications on other desktop environments (e.g., XFCE) opens the
associated application's main window.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start an application which displays an icon in the system tray (e.g., Slack
for Linux)
2. Close the application's main window.
3. Try to raise the application's main window by left-clicking on the
application's icon in the system tray.

Actual Results:
The application's main window does not appear.

Expected Results:
The application's main window show appear.

As indicated in the description, I have only noticed this behavior with certain
applications. I have not seen any issues with Plasma's built-in items in the
tray. I believe I first noticed this issue after Xembed system tray icons was
restored to Plasma 5 (after having been previously removed from Plasma 5 in
June 2014). I had been hoping that the re-written tray component in Plasma
5.7.0 would resolve this issue.

The first buy price for each buy date is wrong. Amount values are also wrong.
Total amount for each stock is consequently also wrong.

As a result, this report cannot be used to assess gains and losses for each
security. There does not appear to be any other way to get this info from KMM.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on Reports icon in left vertical pane
2.expand 5. Investments
3.launch Investment Transactions Default Report

Actual Results:
Incorrect Price and Amount values for many lines of data. Commission handling
appears to be confused.

Expected Results:
Each line should be correct. The Total should give the correct gain or loss
for that security.

Experiencing the same issue on Arch following the plasma 5.7.0-2 update. 4
monitors are configured with icon-only task manager to "only show tasks from
current screen". Only primary monitor functions properly with all the rest of
the windows appearing on the wrong task manager. Problem is also reproducible
with the non-icon-only task manager. Deleting and re-creating the default panel

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340267

Are there any repo's about with 5.6.x components for testing? I found ubuntu's
landing-11 overlay with 5.6.0, but it seems more broken than 5.5 default with
kubuntu 16.04.

Otherwise, is there a recommended method of rebuilding the packages to test
someone can point me at? Has there been any progress from the other reports
that have identified the problem yet?

I'm at the point I just leave the monitors on most nights, but they create a
lot of heat and power usage that i'd love to just flip them off without having
to reboot daily as a result to stabilize things.

Bug 334525, "Gwenview hangs when switching from normal to full screen mode" is
still present. The fix that was applied before only works on Gnome. Gwenview
still hangs if there is nothing listening on dbus for screensaver inhibit
requests.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch an xsession with no screensaver daemon, or with xscreensaver.
2. Launch Gwenview.
3. Try to go fullscreen.

Actual Results:
Gwenview makes its window fullscreen, but then hangs for 25 seconds before
redrawing or responding to input.

Expected Results:
Gwenview does not hang.

Using Gwenview --version 16.04.2, which was not listed in the version selector
form.

I was wrong.

Just imported a new batch of photos, about 250 on an SD card.
Clicked Import > Card readers > SD
Scrolled down straight away.
The Item menu became disabled until the off-screen thumbnails loaded. Luckily
it didn't take very long, loading of thumbs is faster, but I still see no
reason for it to be disabled, it is still wasted time.

[plasmashell] [Bug 365153] False holidays, at least for Poland

2016-07-09 Thread Roman S . via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365153

I have briefly looked at the libkholidays source - if I'm not mistaken (sorry,
I'm not familiar with KDE development), this is already supported - one can use
KHoliday::dayType() to get Workday or NoWorkday enum value. It seems to me that
all the 'public' type holidays are reported as NoWorkday, all the others - as
Workday. At least this is what the author intended (I didn't test whether it
works correctly).

Are you 100% sure that the problem is within the libkholidays?

Nevertheless, I have started working on the holiday_pl_pl file (current version
in the attachment). Seems to be more work I expected - changes done so far by
me:

- [most important, this HAS TO BE MAINLINED!!!] 6th of January is now a public
holiday, since 2011 (see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphany_(holiday)#Poland)
- 'Śledzik' is not really a religious holiday, this is just the last day of
carnival (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival#Poland), there are no
special religious celebrations at this day in Poland
- moved Valentine's Day ('Walentynki') to civil holidays; I'm not really sure
what is the different between 'civil' and 'cultural' holidays, but it seems no
sense to have just the Valentine's Day in cultural and nothing else there
- 'Zaduszki' (full name: 'Dzień Zaduszny') is definitely a religious holiday
(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Souls%27_Day,
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaduszki)
- 'Wigilia' is also a religious holiday (see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_Eve,
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wigilia_Bo%C5%BCego_Narodzenia)
- 'Wniebowzięcie NMP' ('Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary') is a bit
complicated; this is both Army Day and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Poland). Since in the
polish law act the Assumption is mentioned, it is now a 'public religious', and
the Army Day ('Dzień Wojska Polskiego') was added as a civil one
- 'Lany Poniedziałek' ('Wet Monday') is a (still live) slavic-pagan tradition;
since it is not mentioned in the polish law act, I have moved it to civil (this
day is a holiday, because it is also a second day of Easter). I am not 100%
sure about this change, any help would be welcome
- 'Dzień Programisty' (Programmers Day) added as a civil holiday; I couldn't
resist :)
- added 'Tłusty Czwartek' (Fat Thursday -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fat_Thursday#Poland); since there are no special
religious celebrations this day, I have marked it as civil
- added 'Dzień Górnika' (Miners Day -
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barb%C3%B3rka) - there are traditional
celebration held in mining areas of Poland
- added 'Dzień Edukacji Narodowej' (Teacher's Day -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teachers%27_Day), it is celebrated in every
school
- renamed 'Św' Mikołaj' to 'Mikołajki', as this is more common name - see
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miko%C5%82ajki_(zwyczaj)
- polish 'Andrzejki' is a night 29/30 November (again, slavic-pagan tradition -
https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrzejki), not really the same as 'St. Andrew's
Day'; moved to 29th November, as 30th November is already after the feast
- daylight saving time added (same time is in the whole European Union) - 'Czas
letni', 'Czas zimowy'
- added equinoxes and solstices

For general information about polish holidays (especially the ones we do not
work in Poland), see:

- see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Poland
- relevant polish law act:

Display shows previous and last frames of animation switching between them
randomly.
Example: moving cursor in Dolphin suddenly starts alternating highlights
between two files.
Another example: after writing some text in Vim I see that text appearing and
disappearing.

Video of unminimizing animation when this happened - looks like it started
alternating between two last frames of animation → https://youtu.be/SpZdhF2WVXM

Happens from time to time… every 5 or 15 minutes maybe.
Started happening with Plasma 5.6.5.
Clicking on background image or other kind of interaction with the environment
usually fixes the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Do your usual stuff and wait patiently. ;-)

Two monitor setup - one is notebook display - 2.5K, second is external 4K
display. Compositor effects are enabled.
Plasma version is 5.6.5.
Qt version is 5.7.

[plasmashell] [Bug 365294] New: Notification popup: way too much information in too small space

2016-07-09 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365294

Bug ID: 365294
Summary: Notification popup: way too much information in too
small space
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.6.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: System Tray
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: slartibar...@gmail.com

After finishing a copy job (or, even worse, copying multiple files) the
notification popup tells you about the successfully copied files.
But:
The space available is way too small to make the information readable.

Example: The following text appeared inside the notification popup (i did a
copy-and paste of the text)
fish://192.168.3.141/home/someuser/Downloads/soft02/2014-01-10-Henrik.jpg
fish://192.168.3.141/home/someuser/Downloads/soft03/12249.jpg

which appears as
fish://192.168.3.141/home/someuser/
Downloads/soft02/
2014-01-10-Henrik.jpg
fish://192.168.3.141/home/someuser/
Downloads/soft03/
12249.jpg

There is no visual separation of start/end of the new data line and the
word-wrap appears somewhere in between...

Possible workaround:
- shorten the data to, say, just the filename being copied (optionally with an
onClick behaviour to see the detailed data with protocol and path)
- or add visual separation with e.g. hypens/blobs whatever (similar to
html tags)
- or use alternating background colors
- any other idea?

Whatever is best and easily implementable, but the visual data garbage is not
helping anyone (even if it is technically correct)

Reproducible: Always

[akregator] [Bug 365293] New: scroll-bar position is reset centered whenever i switch feeds or articles using default hotkeys (N, P, Arrow keys).

2016-07-09 Thread Arthur Shchipletsov via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365293

Bug ID: 365293
Summary: scroll-bar position is reset centered whenever i
switch feeds or articles using default hotkeys (N, P,
Arrow keys).
   Product: akregator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
   URL: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwIXGElc3ZduWHRDZ0M2
eUVQUnM
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: geex...@gmail.com

Akregator switched to "Normal View" in View menu and font is enlarged one time
in same menu, other setting is in their default state.

In unmaximized or pinned to any side Akregator window, switching articles or
feeds with shortcut keys leads to strange behavior of bottom scroll-bar of
article title list, rendering article titles unreadable in that list. Clicking
article titles or switching feeds with mouse - does not reproduce the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unmaximize or pin Akregator window.
2. Switch to next article or switch feed using shotcut keys (N, P, Left-Right
arrow keys).
3. Good luck reading that articles listing.

Actual Results:
Scroll-bar positioned itself in center.

Expected Results:
Scroll-bar should keep default position unless otherwise is specified by user.

Debian GNU/Linux 8.5 (jessie)
KDE SC Version 4.14.2
Akregator version is 4.14.1
