Kdenlive bug. I don't know what kind of bug it would be called so I commented
here and then made my own report.

   Product: kdeplasma-addons
   Version: 5.8.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Dashboard
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: sun...@hotmail.ru
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Settings -> Shutdown and Startup -> Desktop Session -> Turn off "Offer shutdown
options"
Go to Dashboard and see only Logout under Favourite list
Now Turn on "Offer shutdown options"
You can still see only Logout. Shutdown and Restart are still gone.

Shutdown and Restart must re-appear after i turned on "Offer shutdown options".

Also if i create new Dashboard it will have those options but if repeat steps
they'll gone in the new one as well.

This bug is closed. The original reporter has reported this being an
installation/system issue. So please do not file new bug reports unless you
have clear indications that this is a Kdenlive bug and not a distribution or
system installation problem. We can't fix bugs that are neither reproducible on
other systems nor installation problems. Use the forum for such issues. We ask
you to help us by not unnecessarily putting load on the fevelopers with bug
reports about installation problems. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Btw, at least for me, this isn't an issue that affects just KMail. Other things
like the terminal, and settings dialogs, and icon resolutions are all also bad.
I am assuming these things don't use QtWebEngine. Do they?

[plasmashell] [Bug 373409] New: Plasma crash for no obvious reason

2016-12-07 Thread Edward
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373409

Bug ID: 373409
Summary: Plasma crash for no obvious reason
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: edwardb_...@shaw.ca
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.8.3)

Qt Version: 5.6.1
Frameworks Version: 5.26.0
Operating System: Linux 4.4.27-2-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.2"

-- Information about the crash:
What I was doing when the application crashed:
- Nothing special or unusual at the time - doing common stuff with Firefox
and/or Thunderbird.
- I had rebooted the system (openSuSE 42.2) about fifteen minutes earlier,
following updates to some core KDE packages.
- I also had, on boot, kgpg segfault on me. On later attempts to run it, too.
Bug#373408.

- Note that, besides the standard default package repos, I also have the
following enabled:
kde-applications |
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Applications/openSUSE_Leap_42.2/
kde-extra|
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_Leap_42.2/
So it is possible that I have an unstable mix of libraries present.
I would be happy to install specific versions of whatever packages in order to
help troubleshoot this; just let me know.
Thanks.

   Product: krita

  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: marupa.as...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Dragging an image from a web browser to krita normally works as intended
(allowing insertion as new layer or opening as new document) except when the
image link is from an https site (giving the 'https is unknown protocol'
error).

Steps to produce:
1) drag image from https site (twitter, tumblr, google images, etc)
2) select either 'Insert as New Layer' or 'Open As New Document'
3) Krita will throw an error stating 'https' is an unknown protocol and refuse
to insert/open the image

Observable since 3.0, possibly earlier versions affected.

screen shot

Hello, I am having problems with the new update of Kdenlive when ever I try to
use it.
The problems are: The Timeline position indicator does not move at all. It just
stays at the beginning of the timeline. When I try to move it, a gray line
shows where it is supposed to be, but the timeline position indicator does not
move to that spot. Also when ever I try to separate sound from video, the sound
does not go away. Only the sound wave symbol goes away from the video clip.
Also where do I find the zoom in and out guide features that used to show on
the right side of the video clip monitor?

I really hope this gets resolved soon because I need to finish up some projects
with this program.

Thank you very much!

I also uploaded a screen shot to show what is going on.

Yes I am having the same problem..Ever since I updated my Kdenlive, I can no
longer use the timeline. Even when I put a clip into the timeline and play it,
the tracker cursor does not move at all. In it's place is a gray tracker that
shows were it should be at. Also when I try to separate the sound from the
video it just removes the sound waves but you can still hear the sound.
I hope this can be fixed soon.

Status: UNCONFIRMED

CC: myr...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Gwenview 16.08.2
KDE Frameworks 5.27.0
Qt 5.6.1
xcb windowing system

Problem: When browsing images, Gwenview includes .NEF files in the browse list,
even when $HOME/.kde/share/config/gwenviewrc contains the following
configuration:

[General]
HistoryEnabled=true
BlackListedExtensions=NEF,new

According to this page of KDE documentation:

/userbase.kde.org/Gwenview/Hidden_Configuration_Options

Gwenview will ignore *.NEF files when browsing a file directory.
Unfortunately, that isn't happening. I have a directory full of .JPG and .NEF
files and Gwenview is loading both the .JPG and .NEF files when only the .JPG
files should be loaded into the list of images to view. This results in
browsing twice as many photos as expected, with redundancy.

Please advise if this is due to a configuration error on my part. Thanks.

[valgrind] [Bug 371989] PCMPISTRM $0x72 and PCMPISTRI $0x12 validity bit propagation is imprecise

2016-12-07 Thread Patrick J . LoPresti
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371989

Just a thought... How about adding VEX opcodes corresponding to these string
instructions?

Although the behavior of these instructions is (ludicrously) complex, the data
flow is pretty simple: Two vectors of input; one vector and a few condition
codes of output; every byte past the first zero ignored.

It seems to me that it should be pretty straightforward to do the memcheck
instrumentation directly for most (all?) of the PCMPxSTRx variants.

Intel has had a few instruction set iterations (AVX2/AVX512/BMI/etc.) and they
have not added any more monstrosities like these, so I do not think this would
be entering an endless rat hole.

What do you think?

I've attached screenshots of the Monitor and screen resolution setups.

Screen 1 is the Cintiq
Screen 2 is a 1920x1080 monitor
Screen 3 is a 1920x1200 monitor (Primary display).

(No, I don't know why they're numbered right to left when they're set up as
left to right.)

I've also attached the DebugView logs for both setups.

Wintab.log is when I use the display settings that Wintab suggests. (6400x1440)
Manual.log is when I use the manual settings of 2560x1440.

(sorry for any spam, this bug tracker isn't working quite as I expected
regarding attachments)

[valgrind] [Bug 373192] Calling posix_spawn completely broken

2016-12-07 Thread Philippe Waroquiers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373192

(In reply to megahallon from comment #0)
> Executing the program below with valgrind 3.12 built from sources on Fedora
> 25 gives the following output:
>
> pid 21786 child 21787 r 0
> pid 21787 child 83036382 r 0

As far as I can see, the above happens because Valgrind transforms a
  clone (SIGCHLD | CLONE_VFORK | CLONE_VM)
into a simple
  clone(SIGCHLD)
but wrongly assumes that both parent and child will check for clone
return code, and executes 'their' part of the code.

I have not (yet) understood where/how Valgrind gives the
guest thread function pointer for a 'thread clone'.
If/when I understand that, it might be possible to ensure that the cloned
child 'jumps' to the correct function for a vfork clone transformed
into a 'normal fork'.

[konsole] [Bug 356459] Fonts are half cut in konsole

Different fonts: Courier, Courier New, Mono, etc, different font sizes. Now
migrated to MATE because of many bugs and issues in KDE, so can't recheck
current state.

[valgrind] [Bug 342040] Valgrind mishandles clone with CLONE_VFORK | CLONE_VM that clones to a different stack

CLONE_VM without CLONE_VFORK is effectively unsupported.
However, the way valgrind "supports" CLONE_VM|CLONE_VFORK is to just
remove these 2 flags: valgrind does not support vfork semantic, and
so transforms a vfork into a fork, hoping the application does not
depends on the vfork semantic.

See the following code in e.g. syswrap-amd64-linux.c:
   case VKI_CLONE_VFORK | VKI_CLONE_VM: /* vfork */
  /* FALLTHROUGH - assume vfork == fork */
  cloneflags &= ~(VKI_CLONE_VFORK | VKI_CLONE_VM);

   case 0: /* plain fork */
  ...

That being said, it is unclear why SEGV is raised.
A simple fork test (none/tests/fork) gives the following strace -f valgrind:
clone(child_stack=0, flags=CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID|CLONE_CHILD_SETTID|SIGCHLD,
child_tidptr=0x7f15d396a9d0) = 18741

With your test program, strace -f valgrind gives:
clone(child_stack=0, flags=SIGCHLD) = 18774

So, I would guess that what causes the SEGV is not the child stack being 0,
as this looks 'classical' when vfork-ing or clone-ing under Valgrind,
but rather the CLEARTID/SETTID and child_tidptr aspects.

The decision which fonts are used as a substitute is made by the Qt library,
and the algorithm probably has changed for Qt 5. If this is still an issue with
recent Qt versions (5.6 or newer), please report it directly to Qt developers
via https://bugreports.qt.io/

You should provide a list of available fonts, and a reason why a certain font
should be used as a substitute for a specific script.

This is normal. Valgrind transforms a vfork into a fork, as it does
not support vfork semantic.
See the following code in e.g. syswrap-amd64-linux.c:
   case VKI_CLONE_VFORK | VKI_CLONE_VM: /* vfork */
  /* FALLTHROUGH - assume vfork == fork */
  cloneflags &= ~(VKI_CLONE_VFORK | VKI_CLONE_VM);

[akregator] [Bug 368798] Akregator crashes on close. Downloaded articles are not saved.

2016-12-07 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368798

kdeb...@caseyconnor.org changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||kdeb...@caseyconnor.org

Possible workaround: I click on the "All Feeds" folder and then I can exit
without the crash.

I'm on Kubuntu 16.10, Akregator 5.2.3 -- every time Akregator closes, it
crashes, and the feeds database is not saved.

If I open Akregator and immediately Alt-F4 or ctrl-Q, it does not crash, and if
I click on "All Feeds" before closing, it does not crash. If I have an article
open, or a subfolder selected, it will crash.

For me this didn't start happening until recently (a week or two ago?) --
perhaps related to some other system update?

[plasmashell] [Bug 373396] New: Persistent padding around clock

2016-12-07 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373396

Bug ID: 373396
   Summary: Persistent padding around clock
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Digital Clock
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: alexhollingh...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 102673
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=102673=edit
Screenshot of issue

There's some odd padding around the digital clock. This is persistent
regardless of font size as well as displaying date, seconds, or time zone. When
time and date are stacked, padding is not present.

[amarok] [Bug 373395] New: Crash on exit after playing track silently

2016-12-07 Thread robert marshall
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373395

Bug ID: 373395
Summary: Crash on exit after playing track silently
   Product: amarok
   Version: 2.8-git
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
  Reporter: rob...@capuchin.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 2.9

I use bluetooth headphones on a few occasions I take the laptop away from the
headset and turn off the bluetooth device within plasma. I return and reconnect
the device - which works and the volume control sees the device. But sometimes
when I then play a track it appears to play but is silent (nothing on the
headphones - or on the wired phone connection). If I then exit amarok to try to
sort it out it crashes on exit with the following traceback

doesn't have support for that. One of the issues is that it seems that there
are some patent issues related to the usage of such tables.

On DVB-T2 the EIT tables are compressed using Huffman coding, using the
same coding table as Freesat. This reduces the size of the EIT and thus
the bandwidth that has to be used to broadcast it.

I believe that the coding table is subject to copyright and is not
generally made available. However it was speedily reverse engineered and
most open-source media players include the reverse-engineered version by
default.

Hello,

First of all sorry for not responding earlier with this. Yes I just
replicated the bug again:

Laptop (Wheezy 7.11) running KDE/Openbox: During the first try, the
software crashed during Slideshow session - it exited without any
window, and did that just at the beginning of the *first* mpg file I
have in the ~/Image folder. (By the way, there I have several jpg files
that were played in the slideshow completely fine, followed by several
mpg files where the problem occurs.) During the second try, the software
exited with the window you have mentioned (see the attached
snapshot1.png). After clicking on 'Developer Information', I got the
snapshot2.png that did not provide much info.

Laptop (Wheezy 7.11) running KDE Plasma Workspace: After changing the
environment, the crash window was as in the snapshot3.png while the
click on 'Developer Information' resulted in snapshot4.png (I copied the
whole output in attached KPhotoAlbum.odt).

Btw, I used different jpg's & mpeg's content from the one I used few
months ago when I discovered the problem for the first time. For
example, now they are jpg files ranging 150 kB - 6.5 MB in size (that
play well), and mpg files ranging 7-80 MB (that fail). The only
difference in between the 1st test and the 2nd test above was that in
the 1st test there was no playing any video at all (it failed
immediately with the first mpg), while in the 2nd test it played the
first 2-3 mpg's fine, and then crashed.

That's all for now. Let me know if that helps. When find time I will try
to replicate the bug in some other system configurations ...

M.S.

Git commit 7e2f9d839f5af447a0fc7fd178dd5d8f58e489bb by Christoph Feck.
Committed on 07/12/2016 at 19:12.
Pushed by cfeck into branch 'master'.

Render text at primary font's baseline

This only addresses the vertical shift and cutoff of lower
parts of characters, but not horizontal shift (characters
moving to the left or right).

See the linked review request for details.

This commit is for the 17.04 version. If you can test master
builds, please add feedback.
