Using the desktop with 2 monitors attached (one scaled manually with XRandR) -
hitting the alt spacebar shortcut results in a crashed application. Restarting
it in the console runs it for a while, and does not crash when triggered after

I have a collection with many similar images (~20 takes per shot) and the goal
is to quickly go through duplicates and delete all but one of the images.

After I click Find Duplicates, I click on "Ref. images", then double click on
the first thumbnail to go into the Preview. As I'm navigating with left/right
arrow through the duplicates, I press Shift+Delete to delete one of them that's
clearly worse than the ones I've seen so far. I would like to repeat this
process until I end up with only one image.

The problem is that after I delete an image, digiKam unhelpfully displays
"Failed to load image" and kicks me out of that duplicate set. The keyboard
focus is also lost.

What would make a lot more sense is to let me navigate with the arrows through
the other images in the set of duplicates, and keep deleting them.

I've tried Alt+3 to set flags, and while this is a workaround, it's
unnecessary, I think. I don't see a good reason to take the user out of the
flow of deleting duplicates in a set after they've deleted the first one.

Yes, I know digiKam is loading. Now let me click somewhere else...

When the database is large, digiKam takes quite a while to load. I wouldn't
mind this too much if I could do something else in the meantime, like read
email. However, the splash screen keeps covering the topmost application - see
screenshot.

Did some more testing, and Nextcloud is the culprit. Tried doing CalDAV with my
Google account and I didn't have the issue, tried with CalDAV from Nextcloud
and it caused this

I really want to jump on this one. I hope someone is looking at this. I just
had the same thing happen on Fedora 24 with plasma 5.8.5 and I was able to
watch what happens with ksysguard open:

RAM fills entirely (filled 16GB in a matter of seconds), CPU spikes to 100%,
swap fills up entirely and then plasmashell crashes. I have the PIM events
plugin enabled in the digital clock widget and now all I have to do is click it
to pull up the calendar view and it does exactly what I described

I asked in the intel-gfx and xorg IRC channels about these ioctls, and the
answers were basically "try newer Valgrind" and "look at the source..oh they're
not there, macros are a hell of a drug," so I don't expect upstream to be very
helpful.

Given that I no longer have access to this hardware, I'm just going to close
this.

Sorry, but here the problem is still reproducible with the latest AppImage. I

debugging infos from the onboard program cookbug in sabayon linux

Dear team,

after my last update in my Sabayon Linux (based on Gentoo) I couldn't start
kalarm by clicking on the starter button. It returns me an error message that
KDEInit couldn't find /usr/bin/kalarm.
It was always reproduceable by clicking on the starter button. 

By clicking on the main menu kalarm died with no response.

Now I found another reproducable thing. When typing kalarm -h in the terminal
with the normal user access, it lists the help menu and returns this as an
error:
"Message recipient disconnected from message bus without replying"

If I would only type in the command kalarm, nothing happens.

With this I did solve this issue partially by repeating the above step.

Another issue seems to be, that if kalarm is now running, I couldn't click on
the desktop menu bar. It just works again, when completely finishing the kalarm
program, then the error message 
will be returned again (KDEInit couldn't find /usr/bin/kalarm) although it's
there. And after clicking on "OK" I can use my desktop again. 
But I have to exit it completely and not only press the little "x"

I don't know if it's an akonadi issue though it sometimes returns me also an
error message that akonadi control couldn't be loaded.

The main problem is that the pdf is saved as a temporary .ps file (which isnt
scaled), try the pdfprintpdf branch for now... that branch sends the .pdf
directly to thd cups server (and also the -o fit-to-page option).

I am working on custom print dialog, the current one (qtprint) doesn't offer a
"fit to page" option - you could add it at a new tab... but thats messy.

Maik, Reread Metdata from Image in the Item menu on pics that are already
imported does  n o t  solve the problem. Only if I import the pics again the
wrong history is gone, but only with "Use file metadata" un-checked.

When I run a Vulkan game such as vkquake or Talos Principle, tearing occurs
with enabled KWin compositing. This shouldn't happen, since vsync setting of
KWin is set to either always repaint or reuse of image parts.
This does only occur with Vulkan applications, OpenGL games are fine
(applications are not allowed to block compositing).
Doesn't seem to be limited to certain proprietary Nvidia driver versions.
As a workaround, the vsync compositing for such applications can be enabled by
reenabling it via hotkey (turning it off and on again).

I'm on this repo currently (but I think it alo occurs with latest 5.8 stable
version):

Yes - this is a feature missing for people who have to print a lot of PDFs. 
Most notably since sometimes the "automatic scale" that is determined to print
a document is completely wrong.

IIUC, on mips, the test hgtls fails to properly show the static thread
variable:
static __thread int local;

I do not understand why we need this code on mips
but e.g. not on other platforms such as x86, amd64 or ppc.
Any idea ? If yes, it would be good to document why mips is special.


That being said, as this (mips only) code fixes the test hgtls, it looks good
to commit this.

Some small comments:
* As far as I can see, there is no (easy) way to modify auxprogs/getoff.c to
  also generate the offset of tls_offset.
  So, I would add a comment in the code, such as:
  /* To check the assumption, start a gdb on none/tests/tls and do:
  p &((struct link_map*)0x0)->l_tls_modid
  p &((struct link_map*)0x0)->l_tls_offset */

* the function valgrind_get_tls_addr has a lot of dlog calls to indicate
  which branch(es) it takes. It would be good to add a dlog (1, ...)
  inside the 'if' to trace this branch is being taken.

I don't understand how it would help, an eventFilter on the menu isn't going to
help you get mouseEvents on the button grid.

Wow. Ten hours to process 40 36Mpx images... Incredible.

Do you process RAW files ?

How many RAM do you have ?

Do you process items in parallel with BQM ?

In all case, i have similar image size here (panorama), and more, and this do
not take this time to process. My computer : i7-3Ghz, 32Gb RAM.

If you share some items through the cloud, i can try to reproduce your workflow
to compare.

My bad, it happens when you turn off running all konsole's in the same process.
I recently committed a change that defaulted to running them in separate
processes for crash safety. You can change it back in settings -> configure
konsole.

- Navigate to a mounted NTFS partition
- Shift-Del to delete a directory
- Confirmation window appears - click "Yes"
- Plasma crashed

The directory was deleted regardless. I even had a notification with the
deletion progress after Plasma restarted.
I was unable to reproduce the crash by trying to delete a different directory,
following the steps above.

here is a more detailed video that shows attaching the beamer and the handling
of the applets 

you can see how the current containment is replaced with a blank new one and
how applets are placed on the initial containment and disappear to the new one
the moment you try to move them.

Resolve symbolic links in findDocument() just as KTextEditor does.

Not resolving the links resulted in multiple instances of the same

Cash Flow Forecast with Budget Items on MS Money

Thanks so much for your attention.

MS Money has an option to use amounts from the current budget (difference for
the current month and the full budget for the next months) to forecast the cash
flow. It will forecast cash flow for the selected accounts based on the active
budget. In the category setting, it's possible to select an account so the
forecast budget values might be considered.

I couldn't do that with KMM, not even with reports.

So, the feature i'm proposing is, alike the forecastiong with scheduled
transactions or based on past trends, we have another setting that forecasts
with the values set on the budget, or somehow include that feature on the
reports.

I'm also attaching four images that somewhat shows what i'm talking about.

In one, it's possible to se the budget items in the cashflow forecast with MS
Money, in the other, you can see what i could obtain with KMM, the other one
shows how the "past trends" works on MS Money (can be compared with the KMM
version, it's almost equal), and the last one shows the report configuration
screen where (like the scheduled transactions) the feature could be
implemented.

I tried, but my patches are not in the right format and I really didn't feel
like creating yet another account. It's too many hoops for me to jump through
for supporting a format I don't use for a music player I don't use. Feel free

Hey Niels,

great to hear you like it.
I restricted the DnD on purpose.
Allowing DnD for remote files may be a security risk. Thus, only local files
are usable.

KDE Bug report

New digikam installation - wiped old database and digikamrc file to be sure it
was ready for the new QT5 and hit a snag. Every time I have it scan my images,

That's because the filenamesearch ioslave uses regular expressions.
If you type "filter\(" (without quotes) you will see the expected list of
files.

This is not user-friendly, indeed. We could add an additional query item to the
filenamesearch URL that tells the ioslave whether the user wants to use
regexes.

Re-assigning to kio-extras for now, even though we'll also need a "Use regex"
checkbox or toolbutton on the Dolphin side.

BQM is extremely slow; in my case, I have:
- Nikon 36,3 Mio pixel-pics.

- sharpen image (refocus)

- Add watermark (=Text)

??? With 4 quadcore AMD running @ 3300 MHz, some 40 pages need more than ten
hours processing times

One can drag around panels and the desktop background freely as if they were
normal windows (they also can be focused, selected through Alt+Tab etc.),
panels configured to show on the bottom of the screen get condensed into the
top left corner and there are no decorations on Qt wayland windows, X11
programs are working fine however.

Functionality of panels and windows however is fine, one can e.g. minimize a
window fine from the task manager

As a note: The decorations have been been broken ever since the Qt 5.8 rc, even
with Plasma 5.7, could not test the panels at the time though as plasmashell
used to crash with it (which appears to be fixed for me since the official Qt
release)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start the plasma wayland session
2. Try opening any windows etc.

Expected Results:
Panels and window decorations working properly as in X11

Didn't I explicitly add the event listener hack to allow this? It doesn't work
when the mouse is on the outer edge of the panel because of its padding,
though. Here this works.
