So, to summarize:
you are not convince by my arguments, and I am not convinced by yours.

There are ways in the current code to satisfy your need without affecting the

Maik,

Warning, the QtAV official player must be compiled with MSVC and, if i remember
the QtAV code, the Windows deployment use ffmpeg pre-compiled dll. So it will
be difficult to compare directly with digiKam embedded QtAV.

[kwin] [Bug 375740] New: Shaded windows no longer valid target for snapping.

2017-01-29 Thread Matthew Guiddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375740

Bug ID: 375740
Summary: Shaded windows no longer valid target for snapping.
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: core
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mgui...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Until fairly recently I have been able to snap windows (shaded or unshaded) to
shaded windows.
I first noticed that a shaded window would not allow other windows (shaded or
unshaded) to snap to it a few days ago.

Going by my update logs, I suspect this is a side effect of the fix for
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365892

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Shade a window.
2. Attempt to snap another window to the shaded window.

Actual Results:
The second window fails to snap to the shaded window.

Expected Results:
The second window should snap to the edges of the shaded window.

Example of issue

So there appears to be a bug at least with the MacOSX version of Krita and I am
assuming it is where the image resolution is quite large. If I use Command+S
(to save) and then click exit on the window (Red circle) it will present me
with this troubling issue.

What is not shown in the screenshot is that the cursor is unable to use the
windows asking "Do you want to save" unless you exit the "Saving Document"
window. Even then it does not hint that you can use the other window again due
to the cursor's icon change.

Sometimes plasmashell consumes a great amount of CPU cycles. This is happening
while Skype is animating its tray icon, which it does whenever network is down.
Closing Skype or bringing the network up stops the CPU overload, therefore it's
likely that Plasma is doing some resource-intensive action whenever a tray icon
is updated. This should be optimized so rapid icon updates don’t cause the
overload.

SVN commit 1218185 by aacid enabled the "continuous" selection of a tool by
double-clicking on it, for example when using annotations. I wish there was a
(configurable) hotkey for this, but I cannot find it.

Use case: when using a graphic tablet to scribble on PDF documents, I keep an
hand on the keyboard for switching between tools (eg. keyboard "2" for inline
note, "3" for free-hand line, etc) and one on the stylus. But if I wish to keep
one tool active, I have to grab the mouse or travel with the stylus to the
toolbar button.

User scott
IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_rsa
ProxyCommand ssh homeserver nc -w10 %h %p 2> /dev/null

ssh hud

works as expected. However, from the Dolphin File Manager:

1. Press CTRL + L to make the address bar editable.

I have tried sftp://scott@hud, but this makes no difference.

When there's no "hop", things work perfectly. For example:

sftp://192.168.0.21

or (from the above example):

sftp://homeserver

[kcalc] [Bug 375681] Not correctly handle binary numbers

2017-01-29 Thread Evan Teran
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375681

So, the issue here is that the number is being interpreted as Octal due to the
string format.

Typical conventions (that are used by kcalc) echo those of programming
languages. Which are that numbers which start with "0x" are hexdecimal, "0" are
octal", "0b" binary. Otherwise, it assumes the current mode. So there are two
workarounds for this behavior:

1. prepend a leading 0b
2. omit the leading 0's and paste while in binary mode

I've built the entire plasma5 from sources to confirm and the problem is still
happening here, so it happens in master and also 5.8.5 as reported originally.
Disabling the check that throws ShellCorona::showOpenGLNotCompatibleWarning()
would probably fix it.
There are several very suspicious TODOS and comments throughout the file:

plasma-workspace/shell/shellcorona.cpp
" //TODO: does a similar check make sense?
  ...
  ::showOpenGLNotCompatibleWarning);

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #375679 +++

This happens every time and it's NOT an issue with opencl/opengl libraries,
NVidia's proprietary driver or underlying hardware capabilities, it's a BUG in
the check which is done prior to launching Kwin.
The same configuration and libraries are working great when running other
Desktop Environments while using the same libraries and drivers.
i.e. I can run World of Warcraft flawlessly with wine with opengl-3.1 from
LxQT.

Hello,

I'm using digikam on Ubuntu 16.04 with kipi-plugins updated

sudo apt-get install digikam kipi-plugins
digikam is already the newest version (4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7).
kipi-plugins is already the newest version (4:4.12.0-0ubuntu7).

Since maybe January 26th 2017 the upload to Google Photos has stopped working.
Things happen as usual, no error message, but the pictures are not uploaded.

I suspect Google has once again stopped supporting some parts of the API.

Can you please have a look ?
Thanks

[kdenlive] [Bug 371404] Preview render a zone in timeline: not work correct, maybe too tracks..?

2017-01-29 Thread Wegwerf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371404

Just for developers' information: with a larger MLT pixmap cache I can now
successfully work with 11 track static image compositing. Before, compositing 4
static images was possible, 5 caused performance to drop dead. Preview
rendering was, well, rendered useless (sorry for the bad pun), as MLT still
trashes the pixmap cache, even with the preview track on top. Recent git master
MLT now automatically resizes the pixmap cache, as tracks gets added.

[kdenlive] [Bug 371404] Preview render a zone in timeline: not work correct, maybe too tracks..?

2017-01-29 Thread Wegwerf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371404

Seems we have a daunting language barrier here.

Please try to run Kdenlive from a terminal window (bash command line) using an
enlarged pixmap cache as described in the G+ post. If you use 5 or more image
clips simultaneously (that is, within same timecode region) then this should
give you better performance, but probably still less than 25fps:

MLT_PIXBUF_PRODUCER_CACHE=10 kdenlive &

Please understand that this will only help in case you've hit the current 4
concurrent clips limit while compositing them in the timeline. This does not
improve overall performance.

Manuel, I don't have time to scan all bug reports whenever I find an issue
while working on my projects. This is even more difficult as many bug reports
have misleading titles, incomplete or misleading descriptions, and many more
issues. I'm helping here as I notice that you may have actually run into this
issue, but I noticed only by sheer luck, not because of your bug report.

You'll need to check the G+ forum for regular notices about important bugs we
discover, as well as for more arcane bugs that we think may affect multiple
users. The bug tracker is not a help forum. Please use it with great wisdom,
and that includes preparation on the side of bug reporters, so that we can fix
bugs. This is not a help forum.

[Breeze] [Bug 375694] Breeze light window decoration missing

2017-01-29 Thread N . W .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375694

(In reply to Hugo Pereira Da Costa from comment #6)
> Not really no.
>
> Change that and one will immediately get bug reports about "active window"
> is not distinguishable from "inactive".

I don't think so. There already is a very good indicator to show if the window
is active or not: The text and the buttons in the title bar become grayed out
on inactive windows. It's done like that for many other DE's as well as other
OSes, so that's actually what the expected behavior would be.

(In reply to Hugo Pereira Da Costa from comment #4)
> The dark background for the active window title in the breeze-light
> decoration is a design choice, decided to make the active window more easily
> distinguishable from the inactive ones.

See above. You already have the text and the buttons become grayed out for
inactive windows, that's enough to distinguish it.

For some folders I am not interested in (like trash or spam) I would like to
disable Baloo text indexing. I have found the option Enable Full Text Indexing
in folder properties dialog on Maintenance tab. But if I disable it and reopen
the folder properties dialog I can see that the option is still enabled. Looks
like the option does nothing when disabled. Text still gets indexed.

The reason was that the alarm was deleted before the command execution result
was known. The alarm's execution status was then updated, but the alarm no
longer existed, so the error was produced. KAlarm now checks if the alarm has
already been deleted before attempting to update its status.

To be more precise:

When hovering over the launcher, it looks like this:
https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103708

When clicking on the launcher, it suddenly looks like this:
https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103709

But I would expect that clicking on the launcher simply toggles between
minimizing/maximizing the most recent window of that group, just as it does
when clicking on a launcher which has just one open window.

the title is descriptive. Subsequently, the symptom could then not be

I open several files simultaneously in Kate.
I remove non-active file.
I close Kate.
One of options is funny: to reload deleted file.
Reloading this context is meaningless, because program will exit regardless of
existence of file:
- even if I undo delete of file, after pressing Reload, Kate immediately exit;
- if I don't undelete file – Kate also immediately exit.

You should remove button "Reload" for this context.

  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Documentation
  Assignee: ttg...@gmail.com
  Reporter: rbing...@acm.org
  Target Milestone: ---

There does not appear to be a Windows release notes URL on the download page
https://kdenlive.org/download/ nor a kdenlive.org Website search function to
search for same. Release notes at
https://community.kde.org/Applications/16.12_Release_Notes#Known_issues do not
mention the Windows beta release.

The effect is for those adventurous enough to brave the beta & give bug
feedback is to spin their wheels on functions that are known not done or known
not to work. I suggest that declaration of a beta means that, from alpha, a
KNOWN NOT DONE list exists (if possibly empty) and, realistically, a KNOWN NOT
TO WORK list as well at beta version release time.

Given the various bugs I have filed this release feels more like an alpha,
which is OK - just don't advertise it as a beta because that sets up an
avoidable expectations fail.

fwiw I cannot reproduce the issue here, here it properly stores the launcher as
file:///usr/share/applications/steam.desktop

I also searched my entire hard drive and there is no such file (neither in
~/.local/share/applications, nor in the Steam install dir, nor anywhere else)

[digikam] [Bug 123097] SCAN : ignore some directories in digiKam [patch]

2017-01-29 Thread Jan Wolter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123097

Hello Gilles,

I suppose, we have a misunderstanding here. My patch does not introduce new
directories that get ignored by default. Even the @eaDir directory gets ignored
only, when a user adds it to the new configuration dialog (the directories are
saved as part of DbEngineParameters). My approach was that digikam behaves with
my patch but without configuring directories in the new dialog in the same way
as in the current version without my patch.

Concerning your comment with the info dialog, I thought you want a list
including all directories from which we know that they will be ignored. And
that’s just all directories starting with a dot. Since, my patch does not
introduce additional ignored directories by default, such info dialog with
exemplary ignored directories could be skipped.

What do you think?

OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Screenshot of menu Settings/Theme/Configuration fail

Selecting menu path Settings->Theme->Configuration throws error msg "Cannot
start Colors Settings panel from KDE Control Center". Presumptive hidden
assumption here is Kdenlive is running in a complete KDE desktop environment.
Screenshot attached.

Note this is perfectly fine IFF this feature is not done yet for Windows as
indicated in release notes for this beta referenced on the Kdenlive download
page at https://kdenlive.org/download/ . However, there does not appear to be
a Windows release notes URL on the download page nor a kdenlive.org Website
search function to search for same. Release notes at
https://community.kde.org/Applications/16.12_Release_Notes#Known_issues do not
mention the Windows beta release.

If not yet baked for Windows then should have release notes saying so and
better the functionality throwing a useful display msg when selected.

[kdenlive] [Bug 375271] v16.12.1 beta for MS Windows complains about missing Breeze icons

2017-01-29 Thread Wegwerf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375271

What does the title of this bug report read? "v16.12.1 beta for MS Windows
complains about missing Breeze icons". So one could imagine that this is what a
comment under this title refers to, or is this unimaginable?

Next, what is the # of this bug report? It can be found next to the bug report
title: 375271. A comment thus usually, see below, refers to this number. Or
does this sound far fetched?

Did you see the english writing sign for a question in my comment? No? Good.
So, a solid assumption would be that it's a statement.

Actually, the concept of bug reports and comments in bug reports: the title of
a report should be descriptive and referring to the bug being reported. Unless
explicitly referencing another bug report, bug report comments are belonging
and thus related, to the report they are part of. I hope that clarifies the
situation. Feel free to ask fuethwr questions in the G+ community or the forum
if you need to. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

[krita] [Bug 375720] New: All files with gradient maps are corrupt

2017-01-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply

   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: adjustment layers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bentontram...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Any Krita file that I have created that has multiple gradient maps appears to
corrupt (cannot be re-opened). Everything works as intended until shut down
and re-open.

Working resolution 2000x2000 px

Computer: Surface Pro 3

Tablet: intuospro

# of gradient maps: 5+

Adjustment layer type: filter mask

Typical number of layers: 20+
Typical number of Group layers: 5

Additional: Drawing also has all other edits, so the corruption destroys the
ability to go back to make any future fixes. I can still access the png file
by converting the corrupt kra file to a file but I can't work on individual
layers.

Multiple gradient maps on simple grayscale image seems to work fine as there
are less calculations per adjustment layer.

[krusader] [Bug 375639] Quick search only let type one vocal with accent mark at first place

2017-01-29 Thread Alex Bikadorov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375639

>"Quick search" should work like Dolphin "search" function.

It doesn't work for me in Dolphin: a directory called "test_á" is not found
with the search string "test_a". Not with filter bar or with "Find"

But back to the actual problem: the list view is focused and not the search
field line you're typing in. This is for seeing the current item for navigating
inside the file view.

But filtering key events is tricky now. Writing a letter with accent is not a
QKeyPressEvent but a QInputMethodEvent.
I would be better to focus the correct widget and find a way to always show
current item marker.

Oh, and a quick workaround: before you want to type the accent, click into the
search field with the mouse to focus it. It will work this way.
