   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: gtk theme

images that describes the bug

If I start gvim from a shell, e.g. bash + konsole, and type the command `:tab
new` then a new tab will be open, and it's easy to distinguish between the
active and inactive tab;

If I start gvim using the application launcher "Applications -> Utilities ->
GVim", and then do a `:tab new`, then it's very hard to distinguish between the
active and inactive tab.

Please see the attached image.

2017-02-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375987

Bug ID: 375987
Summary: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: gtk theme
  Assignee: scionicspec...@gmail.com
  Reporter: incompl...@aixon.co
  Target Milestone: ---

This bug description includes Erlang (a programming language) and ERTS (it's
runtime environment), but I don't think this bug is specific to Erlang, because
a quick search leads to
http://askubuntu.com/questions/225093/emacs-gives-warnings-in-lubuntu, which is
somewhat similar to this bug.

Error message reported by ERTS is:

** (Erlang:13811): WARNING **: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap:
/usr/share/themes/Breeze/gtk-2.0/../assets/line-h.png, borders don't fit within
the image
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1052:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

Steps to reproduce:

1) install Erlang, the bug was found on version `Erlang/OTP 18 [erts-7.3.1]`,
(archlinux package version 18.3.3-1), but I think the version is not important
2) type `erl` in a shell to start ERTS, the type `observer:start().` to start
the observer
3) in the started GUI, click "Table Viewer" tab, then click the "View" menu,
the reported message should appear in the shell.

confirmed on arch linux with latest git version of krita,

This is also a problem in similar color selection tool. selecting similar
colors only works if the color is present in the top half

if there are no similar colors in upper part of the image and all the similar
colors are in the bottom half , it doesn't select anything, meanwhile if there
is a color in top half of the image it selects the color in entire image even
if we click on the bottom half, As if it is only sampling from the top half of
the image

To do it, run the AppImage file from a console with the argument "debug".
This will run digiKam in GDB. When it crash, just use "bt" command in GDB

Global menu is not scaled with the panel

When the panel is appreciably tall, the widget text is centered vertically.
With the smaller panes size, the widget is not centered vertically.

I've received the update to KDE Neon 5.9.0 now and the icons in the thumbnail
preview frame are smaller now, but they are mostly pixelated.

The app icons for Dolphin, Firefox, Audacious, System Settings, Chromium, KGet,
Konsole and many others are pixelated.

I've found one app icon which is not pixelated: KMail.

Most others are pixelated. It looks like they are very poorly scaled up or down
or whatever.

I've imported a bunch of images that came with shoddy keywords. Some of them
are the same if you lowercase them, and differ only in capitalization, e.g.
"victory" and "Victory". For certain letters, this is hard to see (c & C, k &
K, v & V etc.)

After adding two of these keywords to an image, digiKam crashed. Here's the

Can you reproduce the crash every single time?

If you can reproduce the crash every single time, can you run okular with
valgrind (give it some time, it'll be slow), can you paste the trace here?

[neon] [Bug 375979] New: Akonadi sqlite backend crashes Akonadi, incompatible qt versions

2017-02-03 Thread James Young
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375979

Bug ID: 375979
Summary: Akonadi sqlite backend crashes Akonadi, incompatible
qt versions
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages User Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: marmar...@gmail.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently akonadi is crashing when using the sqlite backend on neon user
edition. This appears to be because the qsqlite3 driver
(akonadi-backend-sqlite version 4:16.12.1-0neon+16.04+build20) is built using
Qt 5.7.0 but is interfacing with the current version of Qt in neon, which is
5.7.1 (5.7.1+dfsg-3+16.04+build5). When akonadiserver crashes, it prints this:

Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (version 0x50700) with this library (version
0x50701)

[krita] [Bug 375977] New: Pressing escape to cancel transformation does not bring back the transform widget

2017-02-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375977

Bug ID: 375977
Summary: Pressing escape to cancel transformation does not
bring back the transform widget
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.1
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dofg...@tfwno.gf
  Target Milestone: ---

When you press escape to undo a selection, it makes the transformation widget
disappear, but if you click anywhere on the canvas, it appears again

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create canvas with 2 layers (or more) and draw a shape on the top canvas
2. press ctrl+T
2a. the transform widget appears around the shape, as it should
3. press ESC
3a. the transform widget is gone
4. click anywhere on the canvas with the mouse, or stylus

EXPECTED RESULT
after pressing ESC, the tool you had selected before doing the transformation
should be automatically selected OR the transformation widget should be
displayed automatically without having to click anywhere on the canvas.

ACTUAL RESULT
the transformation widget is invisible, and the transformation tool is
selected.

Linux Mint 17.2, Krita 3.1.1 - but AFAIK this small bug happened with every
version of Krita, on both Linux Mint and W7.

[kwin] [Bug 375940] kwin_wayland stuck (kill -9); weston ok

2017-02-03 Thread Fabio Coatti
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375940

While configuring kwin to be compiled with debug info, I noticed that for some
forgotten reason kwin was compiled with clang and not with gcc.
Recompiling it with gcc 5.4.0 made the trick and now kwin_wayland works as
expected (ok, with the expected issues :) ) even (somewhat) on two screens.
I don't know the level of support of clang that kde offers, if "none", just
disregard this bug report; otherwise I can provide more info, of course.

Thanks and sorry for the noise.

[krita] [Bug 375974] New: canvas does not scroll up when moving cursor too slow

2017-02-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375974

Bug ID: 375974
Summary: canvas does not scroll up when moving cursor too slow
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.1
  Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dofg...@tfwno.gf
  Target Milestone: ---

When you move your cursor up or down to scroll up/down, if you move your cursor
too slowly, then the canvas does not move.

Steps to reproduce:
1-create a document (size, dpi etc does not matter)
2-go to the top left corner (to see a color difference between canvas and UI),
press and hold space bar, and using your stylus, move your cursor down (to make
the canvas scroll up). Do it SLOWLY, as slowly as you can (I stress that part,
if you go fast it will work normally).

optional:
3-repeat step 2, but using your mouse. Krita works as expected with the mouse,
the cursor stays in place and the canvas scrolls up or down.

Expected result:
canvas scrolls up or down depending on the distance you've moved the cursor

Actual result:
cursor moves up or down, canvas does not move.

Additional infos:
I made 2 small videos showing both situations (with mouse and tablet):
https://gfycat.com/SpicyRepentantHadrosaurus <- this one is with the mouse.
works as you'd expect
https://gfycat.com/FrigidBestGenet <- this one is with the tablet. the cursor
moves, not the view. I show it works when moving the pen faster, but not slow.

Another user in the Krita Forums
(https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=139=138771=371406#p371406) helped me
confirm this bug, he also made small video showing the problem.
http://www.peppercarrot.com/extras/forum/2017-02-03_cursor-spacebar-bug.gif

Linux Mint 17.2 KDE, Wacom Bamboo, Krita 3.1.1
I also reproduced the bug on W7.

Yes.

This is the top of my list of options that "might be more desirable" but
"seem to require significant re-architecturing how data sources handle field
names."

I am honestly not sure that this can be done without a pretty serious re-write

[kst] [Bug 375612] Session files not portable between different system locales

2017-02-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply

netterfi...@astro.utoronto.ca changed:

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED

--- Comment #6 from netterfi...@astro.utoronto.ca ---
This is a ... deep bug.

When no column names are provided by the file, the ascii datasource plugin
automatically names the columns "Column 1" etc, and, of course, makes "Column"
a translatable string. So in German it calls it "Spalte 1" etc.

Kst proper knows nothing of the names being automatic or translated - it just
knows the list of field names that the datasource provides - and when it saves
a vector, it uses the only name it has been given.

Trying to load in a different language fails.

Options:
- don't translate "Column" - field would be called "Column 1", etc, regardless
of language.
- don't add "Column" to the automatically generated name of the field. So
"Column 1" would just become "1".
- Save the translated name in the data source config section of the session
file, and use that translation regardless of what language the session is
reopened in.
- Apologize that session files are not compatible between languages.

Other options that might be more desirable seem to require significant
re-architecturing how data sources handle field names.

Thoughts?

Thank you! Will try as soon as there is an appimage.

Since sudo apt install kde-runtime seems to work: I found this via Google in
some seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5-XPdDF9QI

This is one (of many, imho) packaging issues in Ubuntu.
They simply dont care about .. well, basic things like sane packaging and
testing a software, before they ship.

Cantata, Virtualbox and dozens of other examples prove it as well.

Such issues lead users to say that "KDE is buggy", while their packagers are
simply incompetent.

Using Neon Wayland Dev Unstable (git master), kwin_wayland is taking 100 of CPU
core, and memory usage wet up to 2G then down again, but CPU stayed 100% (about
an hour now), I asked in #kwin and they suggested using strace, so this is some
output, something wrong with sendmsg and recvmsg.

There is a workaround posted by Alexey:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356782#c6
With this workaround krfb should work correctly and you should be able to
connect to VNC even with active desktop effects.

Edit ~/.config/krfbrc
