[plasmashell] [Bug 369658] Different windows from same app show icon defined in .desktop file instead of app-specified icon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369658 Anguochanged: What|Removed |Added Resolution|WONTFIX |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED --- Comment #31 from Anguo --- What you refer to as bugs are slight visual ugliness in some places. I much prefer those to the complete unusability of the current default behaviour. Since applying the fix, my workflow and efficiency has improved a lot. Actually, fixing this regression allowed me to discover another reason why I previously always confused my konqueror tasks. The default plasma behaviour is that the tab orders in the taskbar is not fixed but depends on which tab in the konqueror window is currently active. It happened invisibly without me ever noticing before, so that I was getting almost crazy: "I could have sworn that the window opened on that site was the right-most task in the taskbar". Within 5 minutes of fixing the regression, what was happening without me noticing, all of a sudden became apparent. It was night and day. The regression is a huge usability nightmare, at least for many of us, judging by the number of duplicate reports. KDE has always been the DE which offered the most customisability, giving users the most freedom. It would take any seasoned KDE developer no more than 30 minutes to offer a settings and take it into account in the patched method. I dare take a chance at reopening this bug report, because: 1) We have a choice between slight visual inconsistencies versus a huge usability regression. Which one is more important? 2) hiding other existing bug with the use of a regression and dumbing down a software is akin to sweeping the dust under the carpet. Let the dust be apparent until someone is motivated enough to fix it in a more appropriate manner. 3) I am concerned about other users who experience the same problems. My own system is fixed so I am happy for myself. 4) A single setting is all what it would take to have the best of both world, giving the choice back to the end users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Tested in Photoshop and it works there. Using Krita 3.1.2, Wacom Drivers 6.3.20-5 (latest) and Windows 10. Also using a double monitor setup + Cintiq screen, where the monitors are all on top of each other with the Cintiq at the bottom. Everything worked fine the first time I used Krita 3.1.1 but since the second time starting it I've had this issue. Solutions I've tried: -Rebooting -Unplugging the tablet -Hold shift on opening to calibrate tablet area (this did fix the offset I had) -Reinstalling drivers & updating Krita -Purging tablet settings -Clearing Krita files from Appdata/Roaming I'll attach a tablet log as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376124 Bug ID: 376124 Summary: Some Photos are not previewed Product: digikam Version: 5.4.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Preview Assignee: digikam-de...@kde.org Reporter: evert.vors...@yandex.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 103873 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103873=edit Photo which does not show a preview in DigiKam or Dolphin (but works fine in GwenView) Some images created by my phone do not show a preview icon in the album view. When clicking on the image, it also does not open. Admittedly some of these images are large, and this bug appears to be related to bug 328090. However, I have a 3.4mb file that also does not load in both DigiKam and Dolphin, but loads fine in Gwenview. So, it is not related to filesizem and that bug. I am adding an example photo as an attachment to this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375625 Evert Vorsterchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||evert.vors...@yandex.com --- Comment #2 from Evert Vorster --- I had a review of this bug and the bug marked as duplicate. I believe that this is a new bug, and that the duplicate tag is in error. I tried the proposed fix in bug 328090, and it did not resolve the issue for me. The effects of this bug is noticed in both Dolphin and DigiKam. In DigiKam large photos are not previewed, and in fact are not even displayed when clicking on them. 5mb is a ridiculously low limit for modern machines, the photos I am having trouble previewing was made by my phone, and there are no issues viewing these photos on Android or MS Windows. [kwin] [Bug 376116] New: Output limited to 60 FPS?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376116 Bug ID: 376116 Summary: Output limited to 60 FPS? Product: kwin Version: 5.9.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: gr...@sub.red Target Milestone: --- The graphical desktop output feels locked at 60 FPS, even when the screen supports a higher refresh rate. Screen is set to 90, 120 or 144 Hz and only the hardware cursor seems to benefit from that. Using the plasma desktop effect to show the current fps does confirm the lock just above 60 (~62). This results in noticeable stuttering and non smooth output. It might be related to #353038, additional tests to confirm are scrolling, moving windows or open a browser and visit http://testufo.com/#test=photo=quebec.jpg Also, setting V-Sync to "never" seems not to be accepted. This might explain stuttering. I can't observe tearing as long as compositing is enabled. When disabled (alt+shift+f12 or disable on start), tearing is clearly visible. I'm using Arch, but also can confirm the problem exists on Neon. Using xf86-video-ati, -amdgpu or the generic modesetting driver. Libinput supports different acceleration profiles: https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/pointer-acceleration.html The KCM offers selecting a factor, but not the profile. Therefore this issue is *not* yet resolved in 5.9. [kdenlive] [Bug 375859] Loading project created in 0.9.10 results in "double free or corruption (fasttop)"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375859 --- Comment #9 from Alan Hagge--- Thank you for your efforts with this issue (you too JBM!). My further attempts to isolate the issue have proven futile. I have been able to crash the AppImage version as well, but have not been able to create a reproducible test case. Even something as simple as moving the project file from one directory to another has in some cases allowed it to be opened successfully. At this point, I'm willing to chalk it up to some kind of issue with my system. In every case thus far, I've been able to get the file to open via some other means, such as moving the project file or using the AppImage version instead of the locally-installed one. [frameworks-ki18n] [Bug 376114] New: KDE Plasma force Qt5 applications layout direction
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376114 Bug ID: 376114 Summary: KDE Plasma force Qt5 applications layout direction Product: frameworks-ki18n Version: 5.29.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: caslav.i...@gmx.net Reporter: ttv...@gmail.com CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- When I move to KDE Plasma I notice that english Qt5 applications Always on direction Right to left My KDE is in Hebrew - on Right to left language this make this applications to be Uncomfortable or even impossible to use (because of ui element is one on another) for example: zeal, Qt Designer (all qt official develop applications) I try on another desktop, but there everything is fine, those apps are LTR. After long investigation I understand that KDE force the Qt5 app to be on Layout direction of the system language. You can see the function load() in /src/main.cpp in ki18n repository: // The way Qt translation system handles plural forms makes it necessary to // have a translation file which contains only plural forms for `en`. That's // why we load the `en` translation unconditionally, then load the // translation for the current locale to overload it. LoadTranslation(QStringLiteral("en")); QLocale locale = QLocale::system(); if (locale.name() != QStringLiteral("en")) { if (!loadTranslation(locale.name())) { loadTranslation(locale.bcp47Name()); } } the function loadTranslation loat the translation from QLibraryInfo::TranslationsPath - the default Qt translation You can see that the translation are import based on the system language. On program who use KDE Framework this is not influencing on the layout direction, probebly because that KDE Framework check if the app have translate and change the Layout direction in accordance. But on plain Qt5 applications the function set the default translation file of Qt5 and this make them always be on system layout direction, because Qt5 set the direction of app by those translations (you can see here: https://github.com/qt/qtbase/blob/dev/src/gui/kernel/qguiapplication.cpp#L210 ) I try to fix it, but I don't know how I Build the library with this function disabled, and the plain Qt apps work well but the KDE apps don't. You just need to do: If the app is use KDE Framework -> set the translations else -> don't do anything Thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-kxmlgui] [Bug 375555] Opening KDE apps gives multiples notifications about: "There are two actions(...) that want to use the same shortcut"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37 Craigchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||craig.finne...@gmail.com --- Comment #7 from Craig --- Same issue here since updating to the latest on Arch linux x64, it was either plasma 5.9 or the last applications update (not sure which exactly). But almost every KDE app does this. Dolphin, Konversation, KRDC, Kate, etc. all somehow got the "Alternative" keyboard shortcut duplicated from the default/primary shortcut on anywhere from 5-15 shortcuts per app - usually the most common ie Cut, Paste, Delete, but also ones like the Dolphin Handbook, etc. I confirmed XDG_DATA_DIRS has /usr/share duplicated, that seems to be a separate bug in /usr/bin/startkde script which has usr/share twice, but after fixing that and restarting the duplicate shortcuts continued. Hitting defaults and reset does not have any effect. Any ideas? This also happened in the past on updates but only ever noticed it on Kate, though this time it seems to be every KDE app I've tried. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
