I experienced this problem, under Fedora 25. When KPM added an fstab entry, it
removed the entry for '/'. That was scary. :)

I'll try to double-check, but I believe in this case, the removed line did
include a UUID.

If I right click on any other window I see move and resize options available
but they are inactive for the digiKam window. Terminal does not show any error.
Any ideas?

[kdenlive] [Bug 366571] Kdenlive git master w/ movit: video playback corruption after end of CPU transition

2017-03-12 Thread lukefromdc
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366571

Original behavior of the bug seems to be back with a git master build from
3-12-2017. Not sure what happened on 3.7, maybe something got corrupted and I
just needed to reboot? I've seen that happen before with Kdenlive. Movit noise
once again appearing only after a CPU transition (non-GLSL) between clips
containing at least one CPU effect. If all the effects ever got ported to Movit
this would be no longer an issue due to the CPU effect requrement to invoke it

[kdenlive] [Bug 377075] transition checkboxes do not save checked state

2017-03-12 Thread lukefromdc
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377075

Further testing with git master from 3-12-2017 showed the bottom checkbox on a
"wipe" transition not having its checked state saved in the GUI, but being
correctly applied at playback or render so long as it has been checked and
unchecked (or unchecked and rechecked) at least once each. Top checkbox works
as expected, bottom checkbox actually seems to save its state to the project
but not be properly re-read by the GUI when the transition is selected a second
time as or 3-12.2017.

This is touchy but actually usable with a bit of fiddling, though one error
with a transition will cause me to re-render the project if it gets that far

Lokalize gives wrong spelling errors, in the same line after colon (:), in
Greek.

Translated strings examples:

   bars:\t χρήστης = %llu, προτεραιότητα = %llu, sys = %llu, iowait = %llu,
intr = %llu,

   center:0 scaled:0 = παράλληλη τοποθέτηση\n

   center:1 scaled:1 = διατήρηση αναλογίας διαστάσεων\n

If I break the line, by just using the Enter key, the fault "errors" are not
highlighted
(as they shouldn't be).
Example:
   center:0 scaled:0
   = παράλληλη τοποθέτηση\n

2017-03-12 Thread Dany
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375595

It isn't a specific way. If you have only one cutting clip in one track you can
play undo/redo a lot of time, it does'n happen.
You have to cut, move tracks, add clips, add snippet of footage, invert their
position, cut again, push "quikly" ctrl+z <-> ctrl+shift+z, add tasks and again
undo and redo. In short, you need to have things on which to work on timeline
and have an "heavy" history on cache.

[valgrind] [Bug 377006] valgrind/memcheck segfaults under certain kernel versions (amd64) but not others.

2017-03-12 Thread John Reiser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377006

It looks to me like some part of the problem arises when memcheck is working on
the driver for the video graphics card. This suggests a cause for
non-determinism, and also a reason for different behavior on different Linux
kernels. At various times over the last few years, different parts of the
driver have moved between kernel space and user space. So one strategy to
avoid SIGSEGV might be to choose a video driver that is as simple as possible;
probably this is "VGA framebuffer" (which does exist, but I don't know its
actual name.)

Another source of non-determinism is the use of threads. I usually see two
threads. One of them gets the SIGSEGV, then the other terminates "normally".

I ran this group of sessions on :
Linux deb81p64 4.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.6-3 (2017-01-28) x86_64
GNU/Linux
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GK208 [GeForce GT
710B] [10de:128b] (rev a1)
libdrm-nouveau2:amd64 2.4.74-1
Gnome 1:3.20+3 desktop environment
Thunderbird is icedove-45.7.1 re-built from source in the usual Debian way.
THUNDERBIRD_BIN=icedove-45.7.1/obj-thunderbird/dist/bin/thunderbird-bin

After building valgrind from current SVN, I modified vg-in-place so that the
last command is
 strace -i -e signal=SIGSEGV -e trace=file,memory
"$vgbasedir/coregrind/valgrind" --run-libc-freeres=no --trace-flags=1000
--trace-notbelow=22081 --trace-syscalls=yes $THUNDERBIRD_BIN >foo 2>&1

and then experimented with --trace-notbelow until I got close to just before
the killing SIGSEGV. [The number of basic blocks varied from run to run, which
I attribute to non-determinism.] The last two basic blocks are below. You can
see the SIGSEGV in the middle of the last block.

I saw the SIGSEGV on every run, usually in about 20 seconds of real time on
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3GHz.

[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 377545] New: Drag & Drop Plasmoids Out of the Panel is broken

2017-03-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377545

Bug ID: 377545
Summary: Drag & Drop Plasmoids Out of the Panel is broken
   Product: frameworks-plasma
   Version: 5.32.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: libplasma
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: electricpr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Bug Demonstration: https://youtu.be/EIKQcxcCmyQ

Dragging Plasmoids out of the panel is often not successful.

A. Most of the time the plasmoid tweaks out and fails to relocate to the
desktop.

B. Sometimes the plasmoid enters a hidden area of the panel which is not
visible

C. Eventually the Plasmoid will break and have no header bar and no longer
respond to drag & drop operations until plasma-shell is restarted.

In the case of this video showcasing the behavior, I attempt to have a left and
right panel on the bottom and drag Plasmoids in and out and to the other Panel.

Requested Fixes:

1. Fix Drag & Drop In and Out of the Panel

2. Don't Allow Plasmoids to be relocated to a invisible part of the panel.

3. (Extra) In the case of the System Tray, I would like the Panel to expand if
it isn't large enough to the a minimum size according to the required width of
the Plasmoids the panel contains. Eg: The Bottom Right panel should have a
minimum size of System Tray + Clock and whatever else is in there it can't go
below.

I reported a bug at https://issues.openmandriva.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2077 and
was told to report it here.

In language list i see a mixture of big and small starting character like:
"dansk".
"Deutsch".

I would like all of them to start with big character so "dansk" becomes
"Dansk".

This one definitely causing the crash. I copied it to a different folder and
now digiKam crashes when trying to scan this folder.

Try to isolate the JPEG image file which introduce the dysfunction. It's a JPEG
image as i can see on the backtrace.

After that, share the image on the cloud. I will try to reproduce the problem
here.

The codecs are in digiKam, included at compilation time.

There is no way for the moment to know which codecs are available. I know that
only GPL2 licensed codecs are installed. No GPL3 and no patented codecs are
compiled for legal reasons.

No. Your codecs that you have installed are not used by digiKam

We compile ffmpeg codecs for QtAV player used in digiKam.

This kind of error is explicit :

avcore\npsm\localprovider\baseprovider\lib\baseprovider.cpp(604)\NPSMDesktopProvider.dll!7FFA59332140:
(caller: 7FFA593326E5) ReturnHr(497) tid(2de8) 80070490 Element not found.

It miss a codec for your video. avcore come from libav codecs into ffmpeg.

Which kind of video type you use exactly ?

[digikam] [Bug 376661] When importing ~200,000 video files Digikam crashes in about 2-5 seconds of starting.

2017-03-12 Thread Poz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376661

These are the codecs I have installed:
https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
The mega version and updated.

I will look into sharing some video sample through the cloud to reproduce the
problem. However I believe it is a shear numbers problem as sometimes a few
thumbnails load, even up to 20-30 videos show thumbnails. As soon as I scroll,
they flip back to gray. Not a particular video in the group that is causing the
issue.

Here is the output from debugview:
I edited path name and video locations for privacy reasons. Also this is a snip
it of starting digi cam, with thumbnail data base removed, and after hitting
F5. For each video file it simply repeats making a very large file where the
only thing different is the file name.

Let me know if you have trouble viewing that pastebin and I will copy the text
here.

qmljs: Fix crash access internal function context

Fix crash accessing non-existent internal function context.
Unfortunately the reporter can't provide any test QML/JS files.

Note: kdevplatform duchain still warns when encountering function decls
without valid internal function context. This scenario should never
happen to begin with.

function context encountered!

[kate] [Bug 377538] New: Create a new file from selection

2017-03-12 Thread Victor Porton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377538

Bug ID: 377538
Summary: Create a new file from selection
   Product: kate
   Version: 16.08
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: por...@narod.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

Please add "Create a new file from selection" menu item.

An additional useful feature would be to immediately save this new file to a
(configurable) directory under a configurable name dependent on the original
file name. For example: editing file Ring.pm I want to create the file
/home/porton/t/Ring-extract.pm where /home/porton/t/ is a configurable
directory and the file name is determined by the option %s-extract somewhere in
preferences.

I moved on to FreeBSD, it was already planned. Basically the same setup and the
same results with qtcurve.

I think I can't apply the color scheme without KDE, or I do not know how to do
so.

Thanks!

Bug ID: 377537
Summary: Complains to malformdness of patch file containing
several trailing empty lines
   Product: kompare
   Version: 4.1.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: parser
  Assignee: kompare-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ash...@linuxcomp.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

If a .patch file contains more than one empty lines at the end of file, Kompare
complains that it has errors:

"The diff is malformed. Some lines could not be parsed and will not be
displayed in the diff view."

I have created my patch file using rbt utility, not by myself. So I was
surprised that kompare found some errors in it.
I have found out, that it is because additional trailing new line.

However, I am not familar with diff format specification. If it is really
restricted, then it seems, that it is rbtool's bug.

Original file (generated by rbt) and modified one are attached.

[kmail2] [Bug 373040] Stop line wrapping long links

2017-03-12 Thread William L . Thomson Jr .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373040

Not how Bugzilla is NOT breaking the links I put here. Learn from that Kmail
devs... Use the stuff you make. Put long links into emails and send to other
Kmail devs as part of development. Watch they break, and then say how great
Kmail is...

[kmail2] [Bug 373040] Stop line wrapping long links

2017-03-12 Thread William L . Thomson Jr .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373040

This is very frustrating... Trying to share links with others. Kmail wraps and
breaks the link. Requiring copy/paste to get the link to work again.
https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Firebird-Java/conversations/messages/11297

It is really amazing how Mobile stuff gets it, but other do not. In mobile
anything that looks like a link and/or phone, etc is clickable and actionable.
It is ridiculous that kmail messes with urls such that when they arrive. They
are not seen as URL. They are not clickable. They are line wrapped and broken.

Really seems like kmail is an experiment in people who need to fulfill their
time writing code. Rather than a serious email client that the developers use
themselves. Do Kmail devs never send out long links?

I even tried to disable the option to line wrap at so many characters, default
78. No difference. Next email/long url, wrapped several lines and broke. This
is stupid...

Just look at this garbage
https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Firebird-Java/conversations/messages/11299

Every link broke... What a wonderful piece of software kmail is. I never ever
had this issue with Evolution. This has bothered me for so many years I finally
filed this bug. But issues with kmail are stacking up, the end is very near for
me.

Seriously worse email software ever!!!

Yep, a lacking features in KWin's own qpa plugin.

Only if we assume that we will never have a wayland display on X11. And I have
an experimental branch to support that ;-)

[kwin] [Bug 377536] New: Tearing on Intel HD Graphics 4400 on intel and modesetting driver

2017-03-12 Thread Lemmiwinks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377536

Bug ID: 377536
Summary: Tearing on Intel HD Graphics 4400 on intel and
modesetting driver
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.8.6
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: andylem...@googlemail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Since upgrading from plasma 5.8.4 to 5.8.6 on Fedora 25, I get tearing when
scrolling, watching videos in windowed mode or fullscreen, moving windows
around etc., so pretty much whenever something is moving.
I have only a single screen setup (HP Laptop). Changing from intel 2.99xx
driver to kms did not change anything. Changing kwin's Vsync settings does not
improve the situation.
Mesa is version 13.0.4, kernel is 4.9.13-200.

Since you have no options not to install a boot loader I installed it to
/dev/sda4 so it would not overwrite my current. Guess what, it installed on
/dev/sda anyway.

You should also ad a choice to "Dont install bootloader".

Operating System: Linux 4.9.11-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Archlinux Packages

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Every time I tried to definitely delete some files in Dolphin, I pressed
Shift+Supr on some selected files and Dolphin hanged when a dialog tried to
appear. A few seconds later, the whole application closes and Crash Reporting
Assistant appeared.

This also happened in the scenario when first I send files to Trash and then
right click its icon and clicked the option "Empty Trash". The same dialog
tried to appear but crashing the whole app.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

KDE su Window Hangs Trying to Run partitionmanager

KDE neon LTS User Edition 5.8
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kdesu 5.8.6

To reproduce:
Install partitionmanager (at version 3.0.1)
Run partitionmanager from application launcher or terminal in an unprivileged
user session
In the KDE su dialog that comes up, enter the privileged administrative user's
password and click OK button.

Expected:
Clicking OK should cause a password check and execute the given command if the
password provided matches the privileged admin user password.

Actual:
KDE su window hangs without executing the program, the OK button stays
highlighted. Attempting to close the kdesu window results in a Application
"kdesu" is not responding message window.

2017-03-12 Thread Bill Goodman
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374355

When run from a console, it appears that control is immediately returned to the
user, i.e. there is a console prompt. digiKam does not output any information
at all.

I looked in the Windows event viewer but did not find anything that seemed to
be relevant to digiKam, QtAV or QT.

Is the error message displayed by digiKam or by QtAV?

Are you using a different version of QtAV now than what was used on Feb 13?

Screenshot of the issue.

When you right click on an application in the task manager it opens the options
menu, when you right click multiple times without closing the initial menu, it
spawns multiple menus on top of eachother.

When you right click on one application and without closing the menu, right
click on another application it also opens multiple menus

Screenshot attached.

Notice the shadow on the KInfoCenter menu, tens of menus are spawned there

[krita] [Bug 375878] Eraser will not switch back to brush after turning Wacom pen back around

2017-03-12 Thread László Fazekas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375878

Please check my attached possible solution. It works fine for me. In my
opinion, there are many strange things in the design of this feature. I think
its design is over complicated. There is a deadlock: if both LastEraser_%1 and
LastPreset_%1 gets the same preset somehow, then there is no way to separate
the pen tip and the eraser again. It actually happened to me, both contained
the "Eraser_circle" value. I also don't understand how to use more than one
stylus with different settings now.

Hum,

There is nothing about usual printed information from QtAV player embedded in
digiKam.

Only debug trace from digiKam wrapped in debug log are visible. QtAV do not use
it.

What's happen if you run digikam.exe from the Windows terminal (cmd) ? There
are more information printed. Typically under Linux all debug traces appears in
the console.

2017-03-12 Thread Bill Goodman
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374355

I added a lengthy comment previously, but it seems to have disappeared.

What I observe is that when a video is started in Preview, it plays normally.

If I switch to a second video while the first is playing, I can hear the second
video playing but there is no image. Only the message "An error has occurred
with the media player...".

If I wait until the audio stops and select another video, it plays properly.

I don't think this was happening in the digiKam 5.5 version I downloaded on Feb
13.

left side is what we have now, right side is what it has supposed to be.

Plasma Task Manager widget (and icon only task manager too) use too much space
when screen edging to left or right. Please make it more 'compact', not
consuming too much screen estate. Example in attachment (left is what we have
now, right is what I expect it has supposed to be).

Thanks!

Patch to implement SVG watermark features

I made this simple patch for svg formated watermarks. The user is able to add a
specific one-line text to the svg xml, and has the choice to insert today's
date and/or the image name into the xml. He can choose the font size, text
positions , and color for all of these, with appropriate default values.

Second half of the fix

The drm-version.patch allocates temporary memory to pass the buffer sizes to
POST(sys_ioctl). I chose not to abuse ARG4-6 to do this since the kernel
appears to always preserve these registers on the three architectures that I
checked.

The patch adds a macro container_of to pub_tool_basics.h. Contrary to the
definition inside the Linux kernel, this one does not use GCC extensions to
force an error if the pointer does not match the type of the member. Shall the
macro be renamed to VG_something?
