[amarok] [Bug 328359] Amarok crashes when using MusicBrains to update tags [@ MusicBrainzTagsItem::childCount]

2017-03-31 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328359

The crash is caused by this code around
musicbrainz/MusicBrainzTagsModel.cpp:205:

if( !index.isValid() || !parent( index ).isValid() )
  [...] static_cast(
index.internalPointer())->childCount() [...]

ie the internal pointer of an invalid item is dereferenced. Checking that the
pointer in not null before using it makes the crash go away:

if( !index.isValid() || !parent( index ).isValid() )
{
// Disable items with no children.
MusicBrainzTagsItem *item = static_cast(
index.internalPointer() );
if ( !item || item->childCount() == 0 )
return QAbstractItemModel::flags( index ) ^ Qt::ItemIsEnabled;
}

When the crash is gone, empty rows show up in the track list. The corresponding
QModelIndex are invalid, and I think these are the ones created in
MusicBrainzTagsModel::index when childItem is null. This should not happen,
because in principle row < parentItem->childCount(), but sometimes it's not the
case.

I suspect the check for !parent.isValid() in MusicBrainzTagsModel::rowCount may
be the root cause of everything, but I was unable to understand how to fix the
problem.

[kate] [Bug 378330] New: Kate is very slow when deleting or pasting a lot of text

2017-03-31 Thread Aaron Williams
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378330

Bug ID: 378330
Summary: Kate is very slow when deleting or pasting a lot of
text
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aar...@doofus.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I am copying and pasting logs from a konsole session that contain 7000-12000
lines of text, often 100 columns wide.

As I update the logs I select all of the text in a window ( A) then hit
to delete the text. This takes many seconds to complete with the
CPU pegged at 100%. This is plain text. The select all is fast but the delete
operation is quite slow.

Next I select all of the text in a konsole session with a large buffer which
can contain upwards of 12000 lines of text from minicom then type to
paste it into Kate. This takes several minutes to complete, again with the CPU
pegged at 100%.

I also see that Kate is using roughly 3.7GB of virtual memory (518K resident).

Note that this is Kate 3.14.9.

The titler needs to render the characters as a single QString, otherwise Qt
cannot apply its text shaping algorithms. Rendering characters individually
will break not only Arabic, but also many Brahmi scripts.

Tested Windows version:
The letter spacing should be increased, and that depends on the font it self.
But it doesn't solve the problem 100% complete.
The text while editing is correct and doesn't have breaks in it. It just have
breaks when it's painted to be used and not edited (clicking on the background
of the text clip dialog, for example)
Sample text: "تجربة لنص عربي"

Maybe this [1] is the related slot, but not sure what's the problem there.

On Archlinux you need to recompile applications with debugging enabled to get
useful backtraces.

Anyway, this is a known bug

Please stop assuming/hoping that a bug in CONFIRMED state is fixed faster than
in UNCONFIRMED state. Both simply mean the bug is OPEN. There is no difference

I'm experiencing the same issue. For me it occurs every time the song switches;
not only when using amarok -r or amarok -f, but also when I push the
previous/next buttons in the main Amarok window, when I use the corresponding
commands from the Amarok menu, and when I use them from the tray icon's popup
menu. It also happens when one song ends and the next begins, even without
clicking any buttons.

Here is the diagnostic info from the help menu, in case it's useful:

---

Amarok Diagnostics

General Information:
   Amarok Version: 2.8.90
   KDE Version: 4.14.29
   Qt Version: 4.8.7
   Phonon Version: 4.9.1
   Phonon Backend: VLC (0.9.1)
   PulseAudio: No

Enabled Scripts:
   Lyricwiki (.3)
   Librivox.org (2.0)
   Cool Streams (1.0)

Enabled Plugins:
   MySQL Collection (1.0)
   Universal Mass Storage Collection (1.0)
   AudioCd Collection (1.0)
   DAAP Collection (1.0)
   Clementine Importer (1.0)

Enabled Applets:
   Current Track
   Lyrics
   Albums

---

(I do have PulseAudio installed and Amarok appears to be using it for playback;
I'm not sure why it says "PulseAudio: no" in the diagnostic.)

OK. I filed a bz here:
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-59876

I was kind of hoping someone from KDEpim team would interact with the Qt people
because I have almost no chance of answering their questions about kontact's
code. I guess we'll see what comes up.

[krita] [Bug 364887] [WACOM] Pressure Sensitivity Not Working (only for Krita)

2017-03-31 Thread -L0Lock-
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364887

I tried to reset the wacom settings : ineffective.

However, I maybe found a way around the problem. Kind of.
Instead of "extending" my desktop to my tablet, i clone it from my main screen.
It brings the pressure back, but the cursor position is completelly screwed in
the canvas (not in the UI of Krita). If i just move my stylus from left to
right, the cursor follows well on the UI, but while on the canvas it will
accelerate, decelerate, block on the right side and finally hover the right
side of the UI when i reach it with my stylus...
And it's not a good solution either, working on the same screen isn't handy for
me. Plus i'm left handed, so i usually rotate the tablet to be able to use the
buttons and because my cable is on the left side anyway. But with the cloned
screen, i'm forced to use my tablet in a right handed configuration.

Still better than nothing untill someone found the final solution.
I have the feeling that I'll be hard to read, I'm still not comfortable with
english.

[kdenlive] [Bug 377859] High CPU usage while idle.

2017-03-31 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377859

--- Comment #2 from skoupad-bugzi...@yahoo.com ---
Additional info:

As I suspected, the problem is most likely related to pulseaudio. Searching for
a solution I stumbled across some bug reports on various distros that suggested
to try inserting the following line to /etc/pulse/default.pa :

load-module module-udev-detect tsched = 0

This indeed fixed the problem. But it messes up gnome sound so I can't use this
solution. To my understanding the issue has to do with some problems in the
alsa drivers and pulseaudio scheduler. Debian 8 uses an old version of
pulseaudio and Debian 9 is just around the corner. Maybe the bug is fixed in
the newer versions of pulseaudio. So, I don't know if this is actually a
Kdenlive bug.

[juk] [Bug 378325] New: FLAC aren’t being added to playlist (and can’t be played)

2017-03-31 Thread Karl Ove Hufthammer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378325

Bug ID: 378325
Summary: FLAC aren’t being added to playlist (and can’t be
played)
   Product: juk
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: whee...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@huftis.org
CC: mp...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I have set Juk to scan a bunch of folders at startup. All the music files are
automatically added to the collection playlist *except* any FLAC files
(*.flac). No FLAC files (I have several thousands) are added. Dragging and
dropping FLAC files doesn’t work either, i.e. no files are added when I drop a
.flac file to a playlist.

Other formats, such as Opus, Ogg and MP3, work fine. The FLAC files seem to be
valid, and the metadata can be ready by Taglib (tested using ‘tagreader’) and
the files played using GStreamer (tested using ‘gst-play-1.0’).

I observe this bug in Juk version 3.14 (version 3.11 is the latest version
listed in Bugzilla, so I had to select ‘unspecified’ for the ‘Version’ field).

I cannot reproduce the bug, so I will not report it. If Qt developers need more
information, only someone who can reproduce the bug will be able to provide it.

Checking available input method plugins in Qt, there is also "ibus" besides
"compose", so you might check if switching to IBus helps to resolve the issue.
On the other hand, we always had many crashes with input method helpers; it
seems they are not used by many people.

There is no "KDE focus policy", but only "KWin focus policy", in other words,
it affects windows, not widgets.

I suggest to use multiple Konsole windows. No other application uses the KWin
setting to focus widgets when moving the cursor, I do not see why Konsole
should be different.

As mentioned in the original bug report, this was working, and then got broken

Created attachment 104834
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=104834=edit
Patch to increase tool load addresses via configure option

I've had some time to clean up the patch and work around the
__gnu_cxx::__freeres problem. The patch introduces a new configure flag,
--enable-high-load, that increases the base address and switches the memory
model to large when compiling the tools, but not the preloaded so's (this gets
rid of the freeres problem). Through a few additional tweaks, the load address
can now be set to much higher values. It is currently set to 1TiB, which should
be enough for virtually any executable linked with the default base address.

Apart from the modifications to configure.ac and Makefile.all.am, the patch
changes some assembly instructions so they work when the symbols inserted by
the linker have values not representable as signed 32bit ints. Also, the
eh_frame descriptors in coregrind/m_trampoline.S have changed from an absolute
to a PC-relative addressing scheme.

The diff is against Valgrind 3.12.0. Regtest completes with the same failures
as the unmodified version.

[valgrind] [Bug 340777] Illegal instruction on mips (ar71xx)

2017-03-31 Thread Luiz Angelo De Luca
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340777

--- Comment #15 from Luiz Angelo De Luca ---
root@router.lan3:/usr/bin# valgrind --version
valgrind-3.13.0.SVN

The test was using commit svn://svn.valgrind.org/valgrind/trunk@16225
a5019735-40e9-0310-863c-91ae7b9d1cf9 That I got from
https://github.com/liquid-mirror/valgrind. Is it recent enough?

I'm using the patch. All patches at
https://github.com/luizluca/source/tree/cc/valgrind-svn/package/devel/valgrind/patches
are applied before compiling.

The behavior changes a lot depending on the checked program. scp is just a
symlink to dropbear (as ssh is). However, valgrind does not break with it (for
showing help).

[kate] [Bug 378322] New: Kate-ctags-plugin can not passes path string which contain space character to ctags command correctory

2017-03-31 Thread Yuki
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378322

Bug ID: 378322
Summary: Kate-ctags-plugin can not passes path string which
contain space character to ctags command correctory
   Product: kate
   Version: 16.08
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: x1353...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Kate-ctags-plugin separate path string by space character then passes to
command.
Thus, ctags can not find the directory when the path string contain space
character.

Example:
- Setting of CTags plugin -
Index Target: D:/Projects/tmp/src dir
CTags database file: D:\Projects\tmp\tags dir\tags

[plasmashell] [Bug 378321] New: device notifier not mounting device: problem with polkit

2017-03-31 Thread Olivier Carton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378321

Bug ID: 378321
Summary: device notifier not mounting device: problem with
polkit
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Device Notifier
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: olivier.carton@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When a plug USB key, the devices notifier pops up. If I click to "Open in
file manager", the device is not mounted and Dolphin is not launched. If I
click on the small button of the right, the device is then mounted. I
I think that the problem is more or less related to the interaction with
polkit. I have traced the ruled fired by polkit (see below). The main
difference is that in the former case local=false active=false while in the
latter case local=true active=true

There is also another problem but I do not know whether it is related or
not. Even when the device is mounted, if I click to "Open in file manager",
Dolphin is not launched.

KDM is long unmaintained, and distributions usually use SDDM. Even if you do

[kmail2] [Bug 378320] New: SMIME/X509: Encrypted message Not enough information to check signature. %1(I18N_ARGUMENT_MISSING)

2017-03-31 Thread Achim Bohnet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378320

Bug ID: 378320
Summary: SMIME/X509: Encrypted message Not enough information
to check signature. %1(I18N_ARGUMENT_MISSING)
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@mpe.mpg.de
  Target Milestone: ---

On KDE Neon-User installation with Plasma 5.9.4 and Kmail 5.4.3, I added my
X509 Cert and key and installed kleopatra

I can decrypt a S/MIME message, but signatures can't be verified, despite the
fact that encryption and signature used the same key. After decrypting the msg
and clicking on 'Show details' in the upper right oranage part of the message
view:

Encrypted message
Not enough information to check signature. %1(I18N_ARGUMENT_MISSING)
Status: No status information available.

This is reproducable with all signed and encrypted msg that I have.
Also with msg I sent with my key from Apple Mail to me.

In Kleopatra the X509 chain to my certificate seem to be trusted. At least
Kleopatra over only the option to distrust them. Others are options are
disabled (light gray). My X509 cert is in Bold and RMB Menu I can't change
trust at all.

Achim
P.S FWIW signing and encry do not work at all with my X509 key. I always get
'not found ' when I add it to my Kmail-Identity. (Will be another bug report
when reading is fixed)

[plasmashell] [Bug 378318] Cannot activate Global Menu.

2017-03-31 Thread R . T . Sun
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=378318

Hi,

Thank you again,

The file from both machines do include the snippet.

After installing qdbusviewer, I have discovered both
com.canonical.AppMenu.Registrar & org.kde.kappmenu normally.

The plasma-integration version, according to portage record, is also at 5.9.4.

Gwenview's file-open can show me a file open dialog with dolphin-like sidebar.
So I guess it's the KDE's file-open dialog.

I have a very small home environment right now on 1 of the machine.

Do you think it can help by providing the whole home directory?
