[krita] [Bug 379463] New: Advanced Color Picker stops updating after picking a color with the Zoom Selector UI

2017-05-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379463

Bug ID: 379463
Summary: Advanced Color Picker stops updating after picking a
color with the Zoom Selector UI
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.3
  Platform: Windows CE
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: color selectors
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: 301993...@etlgr.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 105322
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=105322=edit
Screen capture of the bug occurring

After using the Zoom Selector UI to pick a color, and going to the canvas and
picking another color, the Advanced Color Selector doesn't update, but other
selectors like Color Sliders do. I need to pick a color from the Advanced Color
Selector to 'unfreeze' it

Steps to replicate this problem:
1) Open the Zoom Selector UI from the Advanced Color Selector
2) Pick any color
3) Go to the Canvas and color-pick any other color
4) The Advanced Color Selector doesn't update

I've been experiencing this problem with 3.1.3, 3.1.3-beta, 3.1.1, but I don't
know if it's present before then.

The attachment is a GIF of me performing the steps and consequences I just
mentioned.

I am confused because the installer defaults to "C:\Program Files" and because
many Unix programs support spaces in file names (note the linked article is a
decade old). Also, I told the setup script to use the Microsoft C compiler.

Per the submission comment I was trying to use MSVCC - any idea why MinGW was
pulled in? Any idea why MinGW compiles the exact same package successfully when
installed in that location if MinGW is set explicitly?

[krunner] [Bug 379461] New: Enter keypress ignored if too soon

2017-05-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379461

Bug ID: 379461
Summary: Enter keypress ignored if too soon
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.9.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: pbs3...@googlemail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I trigger this bug surprisingly often.

Steps to reproduce:
  - Press Alt+F2.
  - Type the first few letters of a program's name and hit enter, all done
extremely quickly (say, less than 100 ms).

Expected results:
Program launches same as if I had typed it slowly.

Actual results:
krunner remains open and does nothing.
Enter keypress gets ignored because the completion didn't appear in time.

Proposed solution:
Record a timestamp whenever the enter key is pressed on no suggestions.
When a suitably good match to the search string is later found, if enter was
pressed less than 200 ms ago then pretend enter had just been pressed.

[kde-windows] [Bug 379427] 'C:\Program' not recognized as internal or external command in compilation of zlib.

Kevin Funk changed:

Upstream issue in zlib: From the root CMakeLists.txt:
```
add_custom_command(OUTPUT ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/zlib1rc.obj
   COMMAND ${CMAKE_RC_COMPILER}
-D GCC_WINDRES
-I ${CMAKE_CURRENT_SOURCE_DIR}
-I ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}
-o ${CMAKE_CURRENT_BINARY_DIR}/zlib1rc.obj
-i ${CMAKE_CURRENT_SOURCE_DIR}/win32/zlib1.rc)
```

=> MinGW Makefiles code generated by CMake does not properly escape the path
containing spaces for CMAKE_RC_COMPILER, thus fails the compilation.

Fix: Don't install MinGW in a path containing spaces. It's as easy as that. The
MinGW project itself recommends against it, see e.g.:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5999507/mingw-make-cant-handle-spaces-in-path

One note: We need to be able to still checkout specific branches/tags. This
seems possible with shallow clone (depth=1):
  http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31278902/how-to-shallow-clone-a-specific-

What isn't possible is checking out a specific revision (SHA1) here. So we'd
need to instruct Craft to do a full clone whenever we intend to check out a
specific SHA1.

@Reporter: We likely won't have time to implement this, so patches welcome!

[plasmashell] [Bug 379456] New: Desktop folder view broken icons on startup

2017-05-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379456

Bug ID: 379456
Summary: Desktop folder view broken icons on startup
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Containment
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: aldo.mat...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 105319
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=105319=edit
Before and after for the bug in question

On every system startup, icons appear broken as per the attachment. After a
left click on the icon, it fixes itself.

Cannot say if this was introduced in 5.9.5 since I very recently switched to
Folder view desktop.

Could not write to .

Sadly, implementation of network filesystems in KIO is very very poor. Also
missing correct NFS implementation badly.

[kwin] [Bug 379410] Window tab dragging has no effect

2017-05-02 Thread Bill Michaelson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379410

> We currently don't have any time line on it. With all of GTK going to CSD
> I'm not even sure it makes sense to add it as it means a weird user
> experience (why can't I add Libreoffice?)

I'm not always sure what weird means, but I understand utility. I currently
cannot group knotes windows with each other or with other windows because they
eschew window manager decorations. I don't regard it as weird, but rather, a
feature of that particular application which I have accepted. Still, grouping
with window tabs is immensely convenient for dynamically reorganizing elements
of my workspace, which typically includes xterms or emacs frames and is a key
part of the workflow I have become accustomed to.

Now I'm just coming up to speed on this and I had to go learn what CSD means.
And I'm bewildered. What is the point of having a window manager if not to
provide a consistent user interface for managing windows? It would seem that
the placement, sizing and grouping of windows is its core responsibility, and
only very exceptional applications should reasonably override WM preferences.
I haven't thought through all of the implications, but I would be OK with a
heavy-handed approach that encapsulated a window with CSD within a WM frame, if
only to restore functionality I find extremely useful. And yeah, that could be
weird... but I prefer ugly and weird to broken.

Just my thoughts.

[valgrind] [Bug 378293] False Negative on memory leak

Hi

Sorry for the delayed response. While trying to create a minimum working
example for the bug, I realised that the issue was in how we were using
valgrind and not in valgrind itself. The leak was indeed there, but the
original memory was allocated by a part of the program which wasn't run under
valgrind.

Sorry for the noise!

Git commit f31b2605fbf863ab6bd4d1863125c8959807e1ef by Milian Wolff.
Committed on 02/05/2017 at 20:57.
Pushed by mwolff into branch 'master'.

Also show tooltips with function identifiers

Do not try to use fancy HTML formatting here though, as its making
text elision harder than necessary. It would also break tooltips
for very long function names which often happens in STL-using code.

[dolphin] [Bug 379450] New: drag and drop a URL from a browser fails to create a shortcut with the right URL

2017-05-02 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 379450
Summary: drag and drop a URL from a browser fails to create a

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Target Milestone: ---

Using Kubuntu 16.04, Plasma 5.8.5.

When I drag and drop a URL from a web browser location bar (I tried Firefox and
Chromium), after choosing to get a link, instead of getting a .desktop file
with a link, Plasma (which module?) tries to create a .desktop to a different
URL, full of %00 and using the title of the window. Usually that fails, but
sometimes it does create the file.
For instance, for the URL https://bugs.kde.org/, I get the following .desktop
file:

[Desktop Entry]
Icon=unknown
Name=%00K%00D%00E%00 %00B%00u%00g%00t%00r%00a%00c%00k%00i%00n%00g%00

Type=Link
URL[$e]=%00K%00D%00E%00 %00B%00u%00g%00t%00r%00a%00c%00k%00i%00n%00g%00
%00S%00y%00s%00t%00e%00m%00 %00M%00a%00i%00n%00 %00P%00a%00g%00e

My guess is that the bug is not caused by dolphin, but I do not know what is
causing it.

Hello,

I noticed when crafting KDevelop that some of the packages were pulled from
version control with full working copies being made. Passing an argument like
--depth=1 to Git would help cut down on bandwidth usage and build times.

As far as I found the callq instruction is supposed to write the
return value into the rax register.

So I assume function xcb_image_get returned a NULL pointer.
Shouldn't there be a "if (image)" before
the QImage construction?

Are some more informations needed from the core dump?

Kind regards,
Bernhard

[frameworks-kapidox] [Bug 372627] Qt Assistant rendering glitch

2017-05-02 Thread RJVB

Current master of what?

Are you by any chance running the Assistant built with QtWebKit support? I have
learnt since submitting this ticket that doing that prevents the issue.

That's no more than a workaround though because sooner or later WebKit support
will be removed from the sources.

Hi Milena,

I'm still pretty sure you're suffering from an outdated Intel display driver.
Check
https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Krita_starts_with_a_black_or_blank_canvas_and_nothing_changes_when_you_try_to_draw.2Fshows_a_black_or_blank_screen_on_my_Windows_system_with_an_Intel_GPU
-- start with disabling opengl and then try to find whether there's a newer
display driver for your system.

Interestingly, I see that a lot of people who report this problem cause the bug
to be reported twice, almost as if the web browser also has an update problem!

But it's not a bug in Krita, I'm afraid :-( If it were, we could fix it!

Thanks for the report.
I've marked the bug as possible duplicate of a class of bugs -- #377578 and
#377579, and I'm waiting for some feedback.

A fix will go to 3.0.2 nevertheless. Because it's not released, maybe you can
try 3.1 Alpha release to test:

Universal Kexi "AppImage" for Linux - a new version from April 29 is
now linked at https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Snapshots.

You've mentioned you use compiled sources of Kexi (by you), if this is true and
you want to compile, you can - 3.0 branch of kexi.git for Kexi 3.0.2-pre. Or
master branch for 3.1-pre.

We currently don't have any time line on it. With all of GTK going to CSD I'm
not even sure it makes sense to add it as it means a weird user experience (why
can't I add Libreoffice?)

Thanks for the report.

The visualized call graph is a part of the full call graph,
generated on the fly both in caller and callee direction of
the selected function.

I obviously have a bug here when the selected function calls
itself recursively. The 5x call count is added to the edge two
times: once when going into caller direction and another time
when adding the callee direction.

I have to think about the correct solution here. I probably should
remember when I visited a call edge to not pass it again
in the other direction...

I was using winetricks on a 64-bit wrapper in an attempt to install the vcrun

fine. Wine Version is compiled from the staging branch.

And another one, involving chargePercentChanged. The laptop had been on AC for
an extended period of time prior, and was likely at 100% charged, but that
doesn't mean that ACPI can't report changes.

Installing all of the debuginfo packages is a pain, but would installing the
debuginfo for libKF5Solid alone be helpful?

Git commit 86c5dd3baa3c4483fed1cea8fc140c18a9c27d0d by Luigi Toscano.
Committed on 02/05/2017 at 18:14.
Pushed by ltoscano into branch 'master'.

Solve a visibility conflict for meinproc5

Summary:
This seems to affect only mingw, which can't link meinproc5 as
the symbol exported affects in the sources shared with the
library affects the build (but not on gcc on *nix and with MSVC).

The other (probably better) solution would have been to split the
source code so that the sources of the libraries are separate, but
that would require more changes. As this seems to work, I'd prefer
to move the more complicated changes to "later".

Thanks to Hannah Von Reth for the hint.

Test Plan: Compiles with gcc 6.3 (Debian Testing), as before), with mingw (as
deployed on current Craft) and with MSVC (2017) (the latter with less linking
warnings so it was an issue there). All on x86_64.

2017-05-02 Thread Jesse

Bug ID: 379441
Summary: git master - Movit Nvidia GPU rendering is SLOWER than
CPU rendering?
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: git-master
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: jesse.dub...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I just tested movit and GPU rendering, which hasn't crashed since I enabled
it... which is awesome, but I came across something that's definitely a bug.

BEHAVIOR
Rendering a 90-second video edit with CPU took 3 minutes 30 seconds, while with
Movit GPU rendering enabled, it rendered in 5 minutes 40 seconds! WAY longer
than a GPU should be taking to render. I also have two Nvidia GTX 980ti's in my
system. I monitored the percentage each GPU was used during rendering, and the
2nd card wasn't used at all, while the 1st card showed only 17-24% utilization
of the GPU!

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Much like Blender, actually. Blender uses both Nvidia GPU's for rendering, and
Nvidia shows 100% utilization during each frame render; it cuts render time in
half, sometimes 3x as fast to use GPU's for rendering in Blender. I'd expect
GPU rendering (Nvidia or otherwise) in Kdenlive to be able to render with full
utilization of both (or at least one) GPU on my system.

BUG DISCOVERED USING

Movit package version 1.4.0-1

(Render Animation - PNG file format settings)

...I can reproduce the issue with "PNG" as file format. No problem with "JPEG".

The Realease Notes for Krita 3.1.3 (not sure it matters):
- Fix for converting floating point channel depth to 8 bit integers with PNG
format (BUG 375217)
- Fix memory leak in PNG converter (BUG 378134)
- Set the default PNG compression to 3 instead of 9: this makes saving png’s
much faster and the resulting size is the same.

Hi, I think I can reproduce the issue with:

- Krita 3.1.3
- ffmpeg version 2.7.2

The bug is fixed now. The user interface works properly and project view with
files from previous session appears after choosing the session to import.

Thank you very much Leslie.

Regards.

Hi,

Oh. Now it is probably too tolerant. :))
(RESERVE TRACK may not be used with all media types. According to MMC-5
it is related to CD, DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R DL, HD DVD, BD-R, and
 unformatted DVD-RW.
 So with DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, BD-RE, formatted CD-RW, formatted DVD-RW,
and BD-R in mode RRM a real drive will probably throw an error.)

Whatever, the diagnosis confirms my suspicion that not libburn was to
blame in this case. Not this time.

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
