Works OK here but this has nothing to do with ui files,
 read "steps to reproduce" above.
It happens when previewing a newly created form, as described, and

[plasmashell] [Bug 355258] plasmashell is preventing systemd automount shares from idle unmounting

2017-05-15 Thread Joseph Yasi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355258

Joseph Yasi changed:

   What|Removed |Added

   Target Milestone|--- |1.0
Version|unspecified |5.9.4
   Severity|normal |major
  Component|general |Device Notifier
Product|frameworks-kio |plasmashell

Here is the bug:
On a disconnect or connect event:
Device Notifier loops over all elements in my fstab and calls
KDiskFreeSpaceInfo on each of them.
This triggers a stat on the mount points in KMountPoint::List::findByPath which
causes every automount point in my fstab to mount.
Device Notifier is set to only show removable devices. No removable devices are
connected, yet it gathers free space information for devices it will never show
me.
This is a major performance issue. My automounts are set to timeout after 1
minute of inactivity. This bugs causes them to remount every time the time out.
Device notifier should not be asking for free space information for every line
in my fstab when it will never display them. Free space information should only
be requested on demand when the applet needs to show it for a specific device.

Hi Cristian,

Please do not report the related or duplicated bugs, thanks!

If you created virtual CD-R like this:

cdemu create-blank --writer-id=WRITER-TOC --medium-type=cdr80
--param="writer.write_raw=1" --param="writer.write_subchannel=1" 0 ~/virt.toc

K3b would detect it as Empty CD-R medium, the screenshot:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C6NVWsuVMAAxOad.jpg

Then you can New Data Project, added some files, burn it, if success, you might
find ~/virt.bin

Please feel free to contact Rok, just like

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 379887] New: KIO does not show (copy-)progress windows without a running kuiserver/JobViewServer

2017-05-15 Thread Kartoffel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379887

Bug ID: 379887
Summary: KIO does not show (copy-)progress windows without a
running kuiserver/JobViewServer
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 5.34.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: fa...@kde.org
  Reporter: kartoffels...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The progress of file operations by KIO is usually shown as part of
the notifications in the system tray. This can be disabled by
unchecking "Track file transfers and other jobs" in notifications
settings (and restarting the plasma session), in which case the
progress will be reported using a small window [1].

However, when using a KIO based application without the plasma
desktop (in my case dolphin and i3) one gets no progress information
at all, as the KDE system tray is (obviously) not available and
the check for showing the window is somewhat flawed. The relevant
code should be in KDynamicJobTracker::registerJob. As far as I
understand it checks for a DBus session and asks the kuiserver,
wheter the system tray notifications are disabled before creating
a separate window. This fails without a running kuiserver. I have
attached a small patch, which leads to the expected behavior, but
I don't know, wheter this breaks any other use case.

Steps to Reproduce:
- Start dolphin without the plasma desktop and copy a larger file.

Actual Results:
- The file is copied without a progress window.

Expected Results:
- The file is copied while showing a progress window.

Possible Solution:
- See the attached patch for a minimal working solution.

Test 1:

[systemsettings] [Bug 379822] Multimedia icon confusing for new users

Yes, I'm using Breeze Dark, but also regular Breeze shows the same LCD panel
with a play logo. I filed bug 379885 to track this.

Can we leave this bug open for the remaining suggestions? Specifically:

1) Promote the Sound kcm to a top-level entry in the System Settings main
window

2) Alternatively, rename Multimedia to "Sound and Video"

3) Move the Hardware group up, at least before Network and possibly also before
Personalization

[Breeze] [Bug 379885] New: Breeze icon for "Multimedia" in systemsettings is confusing for new users

2017-05-15 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 379885
Summary: Breeze icon for "Multimedia" in systemsettings is
confusing for new users
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.9.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Icons
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org
  Reporter: ber...@codewiz.org
CC: kain...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I recently observed a new KDE user browse through the main System Settings
window in search for the sound configuration KCM and miss the Multimedia icon
in the Hardware pane because "this one looked like a monitor, but I wanted to
configure sound so I was looking for a speaker".

The Oxygen version of this icon is a video clap with a musical note, which
might have been easier to associate with "sound controls".

I personally think a speaker icon would be more recognizable. This is what both
MacOS and Windows use. Cinnamon also has a speaker, and Gnome shows a volume
knob.

I filed a separate bug on systemsettings to track renaming Multimedia to "Sound
and Video" or splitting it into two separate icons (#379822).

Please run amarok in debug mode and check the output in the konsole when you
try to play the file.
Running Amarok in debug mode is done by starting amarok from a konsole with

amarok -d --nofork

What might also be helpful is to know where those files are located, and of
course to check the permissions of those files, they should be readable AND
writeable for the user.

Graphics errors indicate a problem in your OpenGL drivers. I suggest to report
this to the bug tracker of your distribution. They can decide if the errors are
indeed caused by the nvidia OpenGL driver and have to be reported directly to
nvidia developers.

I think it's important to keep bumping the version so KDE know it's an issue in
latest version.

Still broken in KMail 5.2.3 from KDE backports
(http://www.kubuntu.org/news/plasma-bugfix-releases-frameworks-selected-app-updates-now-available-in-backports-ppa-for-zesty-and-xenial/)

I suspect a crash in Exiv2 library. It's not explicit in the trace, but we have
receive a lots of reports like this.

Please check if the problem is reproducible with digiKam 5.6.0 pre-release for
Linux as AppImage bundle available here :

2017-05-15 Thread Daniel

Hello
Kmail finally opens after completing a Kmail autoremove and resettlement.
But as I can't seem to set up the mail account (after you configure cannot
send).
There I threw sponge and use another email.
Too bad because the interface I liked it.
Best regards

Est ce que tu as des erreurs en console ? Est ce que Akonadi est bien installé
sur ta machine ?"
