Hi all, 
When I set the logout=false directive in my KDE Action Restrictions, it hides
the logout item from the Application Launcher "Leave" tab, but still shows the
Logout item in the Shutdown/Reboot countdown overlay.

The Logout option should not be visible in the Shutdown/Reboot overlay if the
logout=false directive is set.

I've attached a couple of screenshots highlighting the problem.

My complete [KDE Action Restrictions] section looks like this (all the other
directives work):

Any news on this after 8 years?

I'd be happy with a very simple solution: Add one global option whether to
determine the album date automatically or manually. That is, somewhere in
settings, there'd be "Determine album date from" with options:

- oldest image date
- average image date
- newest image date
- manually specified date (this is the current solution)

If the album dates are stored in the database, then changing this option to
oldest/avg/newest could update all the album dates in the database (thus, one
loses any manually set album dates). Also, the date choosing in album
properties and album creation would be disabled/removed when not in "manually
specified date" mode.

My initial comment wasn't clear.  The crash is when I exit Google Chrome.

My comment about having started it using a keyboard shortcut is how I started
Chrome before the crash - the crash happening upon exiting Chrome.

Selections made with the polygon, outline and bezier selection tool which used
to get extended beyond canvas boundaries too in 2.9 and also in 3.0, don't get
beyond the canvas boundaries, they get clipped to canvas edges.

Some times user has to selects parts of image beyond the visible canvas area to
resize and modify, this big hinders that process.

This regression started happening from 3.1.1

I am trying to find the exact commit that introduced this, but it is taking
time. Ill comment here when i find the commit.

I can confirm having this issue. I think this is unfortunate and the
workarounds not great options. I specifically also have the issues with
MuseScore and Calibre specifically. I hope this will be fixed.

There is an option "Image sorting order: ascending/descending". I'd like to
have a similar option for albums. This order would apply at least to the album

I'm syncing my photo directory between two machines. If I write the metadata to
the image files and enable "Rescan file when files are modified", changes in
the metadata on one machine are automatically shown on the other machine.
However, if I read and write metadata to sidecar files, this doesn't happen. I
need to manually "Reread metadata from image". I would have expected that
digikam notices modifications in both the image file and the sidecar file, but
apparently "Rescan file when files are modified" doesn't apply to sidecar
files, only to image files.

Settings: I've enabled "Read from sidecar files" and "Write to sidecar files
(Write to XMP sidecar only)". Also, I've enabled "Rescan file when files are
modified" and enabled all information to be written to the metadata.

Overview:

Using a brush in eraser mode, switching to the outline selection tool, then
switching back to the freehand brush tool, results in the eraser mode icon
appearing as if eraser mode is off, but the brush will still be in eraser mode

Steps to Reproduce:

1) Select a brush, draw a stroke
2) Enable Eraser Mode, erase a bit of the stroke.
3) Select Outline Selection Tool.
4) Select Freehand Brush Tool. the Eraser Mode icon will now show as disabled.
5) Attempt to draw a stroke. This will result in nothing happening.
6) Attempt to draw a stroke over a previous stroke. This will erase the
previous stroke, despite Eraser Mode displaying as disabled.

Actual Results:

The brush remains in eraser mode, but the eraser mode icon displays itself as
disabled.

Expected Results:

The brush state matches the eraser mode icon, and is not in eraser mode.

Interesting thing I found on this topic: Chromium and Slack (which I believe is
a Chromium-based app) both support xembed- and appindicator-style tray icons,
depending on whether or not they find libappindicator installed.  See attached
image for a comparison of the icons created (xembed on top, appindicator on
bottom.

Hello,

Right now manual face tagging workflow looks like this:
- Click on "Add Face Tag" button (mouse)
- Draw a face region (mouse)
- Entry field shows up right after you released the mouse button. The field
already has "Unknown" in it and it allows you to start typing a name. After you
start typing a drop down list pops up and the search results narrow down while
you typing.

The issue is that the last step requires keyboard entry. There is a button on
the right side of the entry field that you can click on but that drop down
window, first, seem to have an inconsistent size (try to open and close it few
times) and, second, clicking on a name in that list does not do anything (try
it).
Since we use mouse for first two steps it would be nice to be able to finish
the last step using the mouse too. We would need the window with names from
people sidebar to drop down automaticaly right after you finished drawing the
face region and released the button. The size of that window should depend on
the length of the list or at least be no shorter than 5-7 lines. Also, recently
used names should show up on top of the list.

Let's say you have an activity with some file open in Kate. When closing it
while a document isn't saved to disk, Kate will ask for confirmation (do you
want to save your changes before closing? dialog). The confirmation dialog
prevents the activity from closing, which is fine. 

However, the activity manager seems to think the activity was closed correctly:
* The current activity gets changed
* When switching back to the activity, all open applications are started a
second time

The Plasma UI displays the "half-closed" activity as running.

Notice that in the confirmation dialog, the user can choose *not to* close
Kate. I don't know how activities could behave in this case.

It would be great to be able to see/edit the current star rating as well as
title/caption in Preview mode. Right panel can be left for Tags Tree then and
there will be no jumping from tab to tab required.

Stars are easy to set using hot keys but to see the current rating you have to
either go back to thumbnails view or switch right panel to Description tab.

Title/Caption fields with small font would look very nice under the preview.

I created a new bug, even though I recognize this bug is tightly linked to Bug
158837.

The reason I'm documenting this as a new bug is because I am _NOT_ highlighting
this as a readability issue from the sidebar. In fact, I don't even use the
sidebar normally, until I started investigating this issue.

>From my perspective, following a change to the path (either file name, or a
changed directory), the bookmarks are completely lost (!). Now, I have since
learned that they are not in-fact lost, but instead simply disconnected to my
updated file name.

The issue is not readability. The issue is that I may not want to bother
bookmarking future PDF files in future. File name and path name changes occur
_all the time_. You can't see them all in the attached screenshot, but I have
about 20 bookmarks in that one research paper. I have to re-link them
individually or just re-create them anew, which is probably easier.

This is a major nuisance. Had I not researched this bug, as an ordinary user I
would have not understood why my bookmarks just disappeared from the Bookmarks
menubar for no apparent reason. Since path changes are commonplace in my
typical workflow, it makes me wonder whether okular bookmarks are worth using
at all.

Do you mean removal of Krusaders bookmarks and connect to Places? That's a good
idea but I'd miss folder hierarchy of Krusader's bookmarks. Also, since
KUrlNavigator integration right next to media button there is another one which

I agree with this suggestion (Ctrl+[1-4]). Although e.g. on czech keyboard
layout without numpad the numbers are accessible only with shift, so it would

Overview of wrong (Krita) and correct (Gimp) HSV blending

The result of blending a color-layer and value-layer with HSV layer blending
modes "HSV Color" and "HSV value" appears to be not correctly calculated (maybe
similar issues with HSL, HSY...).

To be: In the Krita result of the attached overview (top right figure),
vertical y-axis slices (like the orange line) should represent gradients with
same hue+saturation and increasing value from top to bottom. Like it is
correctly implemented in Gimp (top center figure). Saturation and value in HSV
mode are independent of each other. Value refers to the MAX(r, g, b) while
saturation determins the ratio between MIN(r, g, b) and MAX(r, g, b). The value
affects all RGB channels proportionally (multiply).

As is: Instead of constant saturation over the whole vertical slice, the
saturation in the top part is all 100% and decreases from a certain point
towards the bottom from 100% to 0%. The extracted saturation channel (right
figure) illustrates the problem, where the whole top left half of the demo
setup composition is 100% saturated, which not at all corresponds to the
initial redscale color gradient.
Looking at the change in RGB values along the orange section of top right
figure from bottom (white) to top (black), the absolute values are reduced in
parallel, more or less by the same amount (subtract). I suppose here's a
problem in the formula, as the ratio between R, G and B should be constant.

Screenshot of menu failing to detect installed apps.

In Dolphin clicking on the filesize indicator in the bottom right brings up a
"More" menu which allows launching several file-system tools. These include KDE
Partition Manager, GParted, Filelight and a few more.

However all are listed under the heading "Not Installed" and only give the
option to visit the website for each app. I do infact have several of these
packages installed but they are not detected.

Thanks for the clarification ;)

It's a bit weird that the setting is applied per panel (i.e. it's not
symmetrical), but at least the feature exists. :)

qualquer tipo de video e formato de arquivo.
quando eu clico em importar, seleciono o arquivo desejado e assim, não consigo,

It is not visible by default. You will see a new button on both sides next to

If this feature already exists, then where can it be found? :)
There is no such option nowhere in any toolbar nor menu item.

Please do not confuse this with "Synchronize folders", which is completely
different.
(Synchronize folders means to perform a kind of "rsync".)
The suggested feature (synchronized browsing) is simply a navigation helping
hand, to automatically change dirs in the other panel when changing dirs in one
panel. (This is helpful mostly when connected to remote SFTP servers)

When the Light Table window is active, keyboard shortcuts for ratings are
ignored Ubuntu 16.04. If this is by design, consider that the Light Table is
used to compare images and choose which one should be processed further.

In that case, you'd have to determine if the process holding the lock is still
active in order to avoid an infinite loop. Or timeout after a while, increasing
complexity for a very niche use case.

Another approach is to introduce producer-consumer relationships between
commands, where 'git status' is a consumer, but that introduces a complex
hierarchy between commands. I'm not involved in git development, but if I were
maintaining git, I would not consider running 'git status' in parallel with
other operations to be a valid reason to add this level complexity.

I actually can't think of any other solution than what Gregor suggested. Files
can have the same name in different directories, i.e. we need to show the path
which is already done in search.
And it only needs three clicks.

I'm reporting a crash experienced on:

Windows 10
Krita 3.1.4
GTX 1050ti with driver 22.21.13.8233 from 05-17-2017
8 GB Ram
optionally an INTUOUS CTH-480 tablet, but I could recreate the crash using a
mouse.

Krita crashes on this machine at seemingly random times while drawing.
Sometimes it works for minutes, sometimes it crashes almost instantly. This
might have to do with some third party brushes, although crashes have
apparently appeared with a wide variety of brushes.

I could consistently recreate the crash as follows:
- open krita
- File->New->Custom Document:
- 3508x2480px@300ppi
- Model: RGB/Alpha
- Depth:8-bit integer/channel
- Profile: sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc.icc (Default)
- using the Brush vb3CA - Smoke, rapidly move the mouse and paint smoke all
over the image.
- As mentioned above, krita has crashed with different brushes before, although
I'm not certain as to which brushes lead to a crash.

I am attaching the .bundle file containing the brush I used to recreate this
crash, as well as the kritacrash.log file containing data about several crashes
that have been happening on this machine.

This is a new machine and I have been experiencing crashes since the beginning
using krita v3.1.2 and now v3.1.4 on it.

Git needs to release the lock in order for operations such as conflict
resolution to not deadlock, or rebase with edit. Or a number of other things.
