[kwin] [Bug 386936] New: Native wayland applications scaling
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386936 Bug ID: 386936 Summary: Native wayland applications scaling Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kiv.ap...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- KDE 5.11 has good support for scaling applications when using display configurations with different DPI. The application can be scaled up or down and it's very cool. However, there is one important flaw. As I understand it, Wayland lets you tell native applications about changing DPI while dragging between monitors. Anyway it works in Gnome. If I drag, for example, gedit (an application that does not use xwayland), it does not scale the bitmap, but changes its real DPI when most of it reaches another monitor. This is a much better behavior, because it does not lose image quality and do not consume unnecessary computing resources for scaling. It would be nice to add support for this protocol to kwin, since this would be a very important step to support High DPI, no less important than what has already been done. After all, raster scaling significantly degrades the quality and should be avoided if there is a possibility to change DPI on the fly by simply asking the application about it. Of course, for xwayland applications, it only remains to apply the current approach with raster scaling. This is quite good (and, as far as I know, at the moment on Linux only KDE can do it). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386928 Bug ID: 386928 Summary: Operation complete / file transfer notification : incorrect open button behavior Product: plasmashell Version: 5.11.3 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifications Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de Reporter: ma...@free.fr CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Hi ! After completing some tasks, such as : moving several files in Dolphin, or extracting an archive in Ark, a notification appears at the bottom right of the screen. It obviously states the operation is complete. It also has an "Open" button that is supposed to open the target directory of the operation. However, it doesn't. It does something else. For instance : - when moving several files, the "Open" button doesn't open the target directory but one of the files of the list - when extracting an archive, the "Open" button doesn't open the target directory, but re-opens the archive (so Ark is started twice with the same content). I filed a bug against Ark but realized that was not an Ark issue as it also occurs with other files operations related notifications. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386900 Fabian Vogtchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||mgraess...@kde.org Component|kded|common --- Comment #1 from Fabian Vogt --- Looks like this is a bug in QEMU, some kind of allocation failure. Probably some kind of internal buffer is too small... Anyway, this shouldn't be triggered at all automaticaly. I can easily explain the difference to X now: It seems like libkscreen does not handle the preferred attribute on kwayland modes yet, so it always picks the one with the biggest area (+ refresh rate). [krusader] [Bug 372964] At least one Oxygen icon in Krusader is not correctly seen (using Kubuntu 16.04)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372964 --- Comment #9 from Toni Asensi Esteve--- Thank you for your comments, Alex! > If this bug is about Krusader using icons only included in Breeze, this is > what 372966 is about. > If there are icon-names is Oxygen which are somehow not used by Krusader it > would be different though. After all that has been discussed, it seems that there are those problems: - Oxygen not having all the icons that Breeze has and Krusader uses (like "edit-select-none"); - Oxygen having a "edit-select" icon that shows only a generic image of a mouse arrow, unlike its Breeze equivalent, which shows a mouse arrow and a distinctive little circle. And maybe Krusader is doing a good job by not mixing Oxygen and Breeze icons. So this bug report would not be a 372966 duplicate, but a bug about the Oxygen icons and Krusader. Additionally somebody else could think that it would be better that Krusader would include Breeze icons as fallback in the Krusader package (though it would look ugly with other themes), then somebody could write here his opinion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
