But GNOME Tweak Tool totally inapplicable and inappropriate for 99.9% of Discover users, nearly (if not actually) all of whom are using Discover on KDE Plasma, not something GNOME-based. There are many other pieces of GNOME software that feature prominently in Discover, yet should probably not be recommended because there is a high quality KDE equivalent: - Nautilus (Dolphin) - GNOME Builder (KDevelop) - Pitivi (Kdenlive) Not that there's anything wrong with these apps in general, but they're probably not what a novice KDE Plasma user should be encouraged to install because they will look weird and bring in a huge number of GTK and GNOME dependencies that may mess up the system. Where there is a high-quality KDE equivalent and Discover is being run in Plasma, we might want to find a way to present that. [frameworks-kio] [Bug 364039] Dolphin crashed on file transfer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364039 k...@swiftninja.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@swiftninja.com --- Comment #51 from k...@swiftninja.com --- This bug has haunted me for years. I found the fix (at least for me) by complete accident. I'm using a Synology NAS Connected via SAMBA through fstab entries at startup. I had this problem. Cut & Pasting a group of files from my local machine to the remote share (on the same network) would crash. This was an issue that appeared one day after updating to Linux Mint 17. It would only ever crash on a CUT operation. Copy and paste worked fine. Prior to that, everything worked (not requiring the fix I'm about to observe). The fix for me, which I found accidentally: specify your UID & GID on the mount parameters in the FSTAB entry. For me, adding uid=1000,gid=1000 to the mount options. Restart Samba or reboot. Voila, problem solved. Confirmed by reverting said change, problem reappered. Added the UID & GID options back in, rebooted, voila - confirmed - problem solved. [krita] [Bug 382944] krita-3.1.4-x86_64.appimage fails to run with 'could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb"'
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382944 --- Comment #16 from Sean Bolton--- I'm sure this is no surprise, but the krita-3.3.2-x86_64.appimage still fails to work on my Slackware 14.2-current system, failing for the exact same reason. If the libpng package is being installed as a dependency of libpng-devel, why does libpng16.so.16 not get included in the AppImage? Is it maybe because libpng12.so.2 is included, and the build script thinks that satisfies the need for libpng16? @cpel, if you do pursue this standard AppImage build tool, you might look at how the pax-utils 'lddtree' [1] tool scans for library dependencies, which could relieve the packager of the necessity of listing the dependencies by hand. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379649 --- Comment #4 from h.k.gh...@gmail.com --- I encountered what seems to be a variation of the issue after configuring an additional keyboard layout. I added another keyboard layout as follows: 1. Open System Settings >> Input Devices >> Keyboard >> Layouts tab 2. Check "Configure layouts" to enable the widgets below 3. Click the "Add" button 4. Use the following settings: a. Limit selection by language: English b. Layout: English (US) c. Variant: English (US, international with dead keys) d. Label: es e. Shortcut: None 5. Click "Apply" It'll work fine immediately after adding it, but I encounter the issue after the PC wakes up from being suspended. 1. Open the Application Launcher >> Leave >> Suspend 2. Wake up PC after a while and log back into your session 3. Open Application Launcher and try to make a search Any setting may work, but I've not tested many and the ones above are the ones I used. I don't know if it'll happen with any possible keyboard layout, or if a specific layout needs to be "active" at some point to trigger it. In addition, after hitting the issue, trying to re-open the "Configure layouts" window after waking up the PC takes 1+ minute and often hangs, making it difficult to undo the cause. In order to fix it, I've had to (patiently) go back to the keyboard layouts, undo the steps I outlined above, and then reboot the PC for things to go back to normal. There seems to be a deeper issue here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 351008] Automatic change of Timezone based on location
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351008 --- Comment #11 from Peter Tselios--- I would like to reopen the bug because I think it is a very useful feature for people that travel a lot. So, let's start from scratch. system-timesyncd is used in order to sync the local **clock**. Local clocks should be in UTC (as all distros advice uses to set the clocks to UTC) and Timezones should be handled by the shells/Desktop Environments. Other DE already have this implemented and I would just love to have this in KDE as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 382944] krita-3.1.4-x86_64.appimage fails to run with 'could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb"'
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382944 --- Comment #9 from c...@protonmail.com --- (In reply to Boudewijn Rempt from comment #8) > Installing libpng-devel will also install libpng, it's a transitive > dependency. I could not get the build script provided by the Krita git working; I couldn't find a single working packaging script elsewhere. I'm curious as to how the Krita team generates its Appimages, cause it seems like a mess at the moment. I feel like KDE needs a standardized Appimage packager, like Electron provides. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 387370] Brush doesn't correspond to stylus tip
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387370 Boudewijn Remptchanged: What|Removed |Added Platform|Windows CE |MS Windows CC||b...@valdyas.org Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED OS|Windows CE |MS Windows Resolution|--- |INVALID --- Comment #1 from Boudewijn Rempt --- Hi Barbara, Uninstalling and reinstalling Krita won't make any difference. You could try to reset Krita's configuration (https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Resetting_Krita_configuration), or try to enable the Windows Ink API in Settings/Configure Krita/tablet. But in any case, this is simply _not_ a bug in Krita. Not even if your stylus works in other applications. If Krita was working fine before, and now it doesn't then something else must have changed on your system that broke things. Did you get a Windows update? Or did you update the driver for your tablet? Try to check whether you have the latest driver for your device. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387365 Bug ID: 387365 Summary: Kate unwantedly resolves symlinks when adding files to a session Product: kate Version: 17.08.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: nfx...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- This is an issue when opening files from a path that goes through symlinks (i.e. symlinked directory). It seems saving and reloading the session "resolves" any symlinked portions of a file path. Before cleanly reloading the session, there's also some weird behavior that makes it sometimes show the same document under the resolved and unresolved path, and there are weird issues with the project view. This weird behavior surely qualifies as bugs.
