When I enter a bad password the response is immediate that I have done so. When I enter a correct password it will blank the screens (I have 4 of them) for a few seconds and then return to the lock screen. Eventually, it will accept the password and life goes on. I have yet to identify the exact alchemy that causes the problem. Sometimes it works perfectly and other times it does not. When it does not I am always eventually successful. When one tries to install an app from flathub, e.g. by downloading and opening a ref-file (https://flathub.org/repo/appstream/org.audacityteam.Audacity.flatpakref), the file gets opened with kate. Of course, Kubuntu should install flatpak by default and I will submit a bug for that, but they may deny that request for political reasons (snappy).
