It gets triggered when the number of items is >= 6, which in my opinion is too
low. There isn't a "never show it again" option either. We could get rid of it
altogether or increase it to a large number(like 50?)

This is exactly what I tried: I tried to control the brush tip rotation with
the tilt sensor. I've tried X-Tilt, Y-Tilt, Tilt elevation, and Tilt direction.
None of these influence the brush tip. I could use ANY other brush tip setting.
None is influenced.

I also would like to ask not to set bugs to RESOLVED when you raise questions
and are not clear about what the bug is really about, i.e., when there's a
request for more information. This is a bit confusing.

[krita] [Bug 391035] New: feature request: reload in scripter

Bug ID: 391035

  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Scripting
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aiena.makehu...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I often find myself externally editing my python script files. I noticed if I
don't want to do the desktop shortcut thing etc yet. If I dont close and reopen
scripter I cannot get external changes to show up in Scripter.

Kate has the feature to autodetect if scripter has made changes to the file. So
editing in scripter and then moving to kate is no issue.

But editing in kate and moving to scripter to run is an issue because scripter
stores the old code. There is no refresh button currently the fastest way to
get new code changes is to close scripter and reopen it. The longer way is to
close the file in scripter and reopen it.

Is it possible for you to add a refresh button to scripter so that the code
changes made externally can be refreshed within the scripter text widget?

[kwin] [Bug 391034] New: KWin fails querying root window property _NET_CURRENT_DESKTOP

2018-02-24 Thread Bharadwaj Raju
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391034

Bug ID: 391034
Summary: KWin fails querying root window property
_NET_CURRENT_DESKTOP
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.12.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bharadwaj.raju...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

When a program queries KWin for the root window property _NET_CURRENT_DESKTOP,
fails to respond correctly.

According to the FreeDesktop spec on "Extended Window Manager Hints",
specifically the section "Root Window Properties (and related messages)", at
https://specifications.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/1.3/ar01s03.html, window
managers _must_ return an integer between 0 and (num_desktops - 1) in response
to a query for this property.

Expected Behaviour:

  $ xdotool get_desktop
  0

Actual Behaviour:

  $ xdotool get_desktop
  XGetWindowProperty[_NET_CURRENT_DESKTOP] failed (code=1)
  -1

Notes:

If one switches workspaces/desktops and tries again, it begins to work.
However, after a reboot or just waiting for some time, it agains starts
failing.

  Getting the _NET_NUMBER_OF_DESKTOPS property works:

$ xdotool get_num_desktops
4

Hi, I'm using KDE user edition. I've set the taskbar/window list(?) to only
show the applications, shown on the specific display (using a multi display
setup). When I disconnect the second monitor, the list is not updated and the
applications from the disconnected display are not shown in the window list of
the still connected display. Even worse, it is completely empty regarding
opened applications and opening new applications on the still connected display
does not show them in the window list.

[dolphin] [Bug 152150] Cannot 'Open as Root' files/directories

2018-02-24 Thread Bo Weaver
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=152150

First let me correct your English. “Resolved” is not the right word to be
using. This problem has NOT been resolved. OK it is also marked “WONTFIX”
this is fine since your arrogance has spoken and you feel you have the right to
restrict to use of applications that someone wants to use as they see fit.
What happened to the term “Open System”??

I am totally appalled of the fact that you cut out threads in the bug report
posted by me and others saying this is a bad idea and doesn’t secure a thing.
This is an open forum you know the “free exchange of ideas”. This was only
done in order for you the developers to not look bad and not look stupid.
Still sweeping things under the rug doesn’t make things right. It just shows
your integrity as a Human Being.

There are work arounds around your broken applications Leafpad works just fine.
Sure it doesn’t have the features and functions Kate does. It isn’t as pretty
but… IT WORKS! I just loaded PcmanFM file manager and it works great it even
has some nice functions that Dolphin doesn’t have, and IT WORKS! This will
keep me making a living until I can move my work machine over to LXDE.

The sad thing is after over 20 years of using KDE and loving it I am now in the
process of moving over to LXDE. After doing some research the LXDE group seem
to have a better understanding of the term “Open Systems”. No it isn’t as nice
and isn’t as polished but everything works.

As a Pen Tester normally on a Linux machine when I try to hijack a root process
I go for more of a system process and not Kate or Dolphin processes running as
root. A system process is less likely to be killed while compromising the
machine where Kate running as root can be killed at any time by the user when
they complete whatever task they are doing with Kate. Rest assured from this
day forward when I’m in a Linux box looking for a running root process to
hijack I will go for all those root processes that start with a “K” just to
prove you have secured NOTHING by your actions. Just made your product
unusable.

BTW Did you all work for Microsoft in the past?

This is consistent with my testing. However, I've been using curves with 3 - 8
peaks, attempting to visually match the fitted curve precisely to the actual
data so that without zooming in they appear to be 100% identical.

It is while repeatedly calculating the curves and tweaking the resulting values
that the crash occurs, and continues to occur.

I'll attach a screenshot of what I managed to get as far as results go
yesterday, but have not been able to get the 'L' curve to fit any better
(theoretically I should be able to get it to fit as well as the 'M' curve, but
the algorithms refuse to behave rationally in some cases). All three curves are
fit with 5 peaks.

Either way, my troubles with fitting the curves are not the topic of this bug,
but rather the fact that the program crashes after simply changing some values
over and over. I don't believe that should happen.

Also, I had already built Labplot with debugging symbols, but I'm now in the

[kdeconnect] [Bug 391029] New: Remote control cursor sensitivity is not consistent for different DPI

2018-02-24 Thread Jonathan Doman
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391029

Bug ID: 391029
Summary: Remote control cursor sensitivity is not consistent
for different DPI
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Android
OS: Android 7.x
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: jonathan.do...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

KDE Connect v1.7.1, installed from play store
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S8

Observed Behavior:
When the device's resolution (pixel density) is increased, the remote control
cursor sensitivity also increases. Then I have to adjust the plugin settings to
decrease sensitivity to get a consistent experience.

Expected Behavior:
Ideally the app should transmit a constant cursor movement for a constant
length input from the touchscreen (i.e. cursor movement should be based on
centimeters rather than pixels).

This is a really minor issue for me - just thought I'd report it in case it's
an easy fix.

Crashed when navigating system settings using search box, arrow keys (and maybe
mouse, I don't know for sure).

It does not easilly reproduce (I only manged to hit it once despite some effort
trying to reproduce it) so it may be a distinct issue from the bug that all
similar issues seem to be listed as duplicates of (it claims 100%
reproducabliity when typing a search)

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

@Alexander Schlarb: Have you tried running 'radeontop'? It's the only tool I've
found so far that can report on the VRAM usage level. plasmashell definitely
leaks VRAM like a sieve when it's running a slideshow. I haven't tried with
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=true yet, but that's a good pointer, so thanks for that.

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Created attachment 110980
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110980=edit
Video showing the issue described

Just played with modifying brushes. It seems that thumbnails are not correctly
saved. (Also changing the part of the thumbnail does not trigger the flag that
the brush has changed.) Additionally, the lists of brush selection dialogues
seem not to be updated accordingly with these changes. Please see attached
video.

Also note that overwriting a brush setting remove the tags of the brush (at
least it looks like that so that it is no longer present in my own brush list).
When I change a brush and overwrite it, I, personally, don't want that tags get
lost.

I can only draw using the mouse by clicking.

[okular] [Bug 390971] Delayed content rendering during scrolling on a hidpi screen

2018-02-24 Thread Henrik Fehlauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390971

Thanks, I guess we'd need someone with such a high resolution display to try to
reproduce.

There's one more thing you could try: Does this also happen when you use the
same screen, but set scaling to 1x? This way we would know whether this is more
about the screen dimensions/pixmap size, or the special HiDPI rendering mode.

[konsole] [Bug 391019] Inconsistent prompt line ending (compared to other terminal emulators) with extra spaces

2018-02-24 Thread GuHua
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391019

Worth to mention: powerline doesn't have the "extra one space" bug in bash, so
I presume the extra spaces are purely generated by the terminal emulator
(konsole generates that; terminator doesn't).
More information on this: https://github.com/powerline/powerline/issues/1886

What I do in KDE: Run the KDigest KDE-themed blog that is now again active,
participate and contribute to KDE Promo on Phabricator tasks and coordinate
through Promo Telegram group. Only posts tagged 'planetkde' will be in the feed
to avoid superfluous content from appearing.

I am aware included hackergotchi picture does not comply - i.e. no transparent
background. I tried in Gimp for a few hours to get a compliant image but did
not succeed.

Created attachment 110977

Illustration of the behavior with zsh and powerline

I'm using zsh and powerline. I set some right widgets in powerline and they
should be displayed precisly to the right boarder of the console screen.

However, in Konsole, there is one extra space displayed to the right of the
widgets. More strangely, there are two extra spaces for the second line of the
powerline prompt.
In other terminal emulators, there are no these extra spaces.

In (the first part of) the attached screenshot, there are altogether two extra
spaces for the first line and three extra spaces for the second line. One of
(each of) them is a bug related to powerline itself, which also exists in the
other terminal emulator (Terminator).

I also tested bash with powerline. This time, the second line doesn't contain
the correct widgets so I can't tell if there are extra spaces there. But the
first line still has the (one) extra space.

[kdenlive] [Bug 391017] New: AppImage fails to access Lumas when loading project

2018-02-24 Thread Dominik Leiner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391017

Bug ID: 391017
Summary: AppImage fails to access Lumas when loading project
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 17.12.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@dominik-leiner.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I had created a project, using the AppImage Kdenlive-17.12.0d-x86_64. At one
position in the project, I have used a composite transition with wipe
"symmetric_clock.pgm". This worked fine, incl. rendering.

However, when I open the project, I get this "Clip error":

Luma File: /tmp/.mount_AWD1kz/usr/share/kdelnlive/lumas/HD/symmetric_clock.pgm

I can only open the project after removing the clip. The wipe method of the
transition than changes to "none".

If i then save the project, close kdenlive, start a new instance from the
AppImage, and load the project, a new temporary mount path is reported where
the pgm file is not found.

I could, of course, create a copy of the pgm file into my project folder an use
that one. However, it was easier, if kdenlive stored a path relative to the own
folder.

+1 for showing the system load applet in your video, this way we see you are

I tried on a FullHD screen, but your screen resolution would be interesting to

[konsole] [Bug 391016] New: Additional text rendered after auto-completion with powerline and zsh

2018-02-24 Thread GuHua
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391016

Bug ID: 391016
Summary: Additional text rendered after auto-completion with
powerline and zsh
   Product: konsole
   Version: 17.12.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: emulation
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: renyune...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 110972
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110972=edit
Illustration of the problem

With the combination of powerline and zsh (not sure whether other things are
related), when performing auto-completion, a duplicated text will be rendered
(but it doesn't actually exist for that command line), causing the whole line
mis-match (i.e. the text under the cursor is one character sibling to the
correct text).

The attachment shown an illustration of this problem. The only action performed
between the two segments is: hit the "tab" key to trigger auto-completion.

I have tested that this problem won't happen if I'm using bash with powerline
or I'm using zsh without powerline; it also won't happen if I'm using other
terminal emulators (e.g. Terminator, (u)xterm) with zsh and powerline.
As a result, this seems because of some special thing generated by powerline
not correctly handled by konsole.

If needed, my zsh config is
https://github.com/renyuneyun/myconf/blob/master/home/.zshrc . The `.shrc` is
simply many aliases and (non-related) environment variables.

For me, this is true for 3.3.3 as well as 4.0.0-beta.1.

Let me know, if you need more information.

I took a quick look at this problem.
I have to admit that I do not too much understand the logic used
to mark some syscall as SfMayBlock,
or mark them as SfMayBlock only if --sim-hints=fuse-compatible
or not marking them.
For example, sys_rename is FUSE_COMPATIBLE_MAY_BLOCK();
while sys_renameat is not marked.
I am guessing that depending on the fs (in particular, network file systems),
all/most file system operations might potentially block. See e.g. bug 278057
comment 2).

That being said, I think the problem you have is because PRE(sys_readlink)
is doing the complete work of the syscall to possibly have some
special logic needed to handle some /proc filenames.

When using fuse-compatible, the syscall is marked as SfMayBlock but that
is not expected when the PRE(sys_*) is doing all the work : effectively,
if the PRE(sys_*) is doing all the work, how can the syscall block later on ?

So, I think there are 2 ways to fix this:
  * if this syscall cannot block, then we can just remove the
FUSE_COMPATIBLE_MAY_BLOCK.
  * if the readlink syscall can really block, then it is not ok to
have the PRE(sys_readlink) doing the work. The PRE(sys_readlink)
should change the first argument when needed, let the async syscall
handling do the syscall, and then the POST(sys_readlink) should cleanup
the changed argument (assuming we need some dynamic memory for the
changed argument).

So, at this point, what is really needed is a better understanding of
the SfMayBlock logic ...

Fix security retrieval from engine

The call to MyMoneyFile::currency() not only returns currencies but also
securities. This was broken due to a recent change.

[krita] [Bug 379595] Request : option to bring back color selector from 3.0

2018-02-24 Thread Isaac
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379595

Created attachment 110971
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=110971=edit
Same issue on Windows 10, but worse performance.

Surprisingly, Windows has the same issue, but it's much worse. The Advanced
Color Selector docker actually performs much better than the internal color
selector. But updates much slower than the internal color selector when both
are being used.

Ah! Yeah, as I said, you only need two different source names there when the
sources are different, like on your case :-)
