[Falkon] [Bug 393527] New: Speed Dial custom wallpaper doesn't get saved

2018-04-25 Thread Korvin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393527

Bug ID: 393527
   Summary: Speed Dial custom wallpaper doesn't get saved
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: onl...@korvin.eu
  Target Milestone: ---

When I set a custom wallpaper in speed dial, it only stays there until I close
the browser. When I start it up again, the speed dial has its default blue
image. I tried JPG and PNG files, with and without non-letter characters, and
also in various places in the file system.
I noticed that in the settings.ini file there's this part:

[FileDialogPaths]
SpeedDial-GetOpenFileName=

When I change the wallpaper, it changes to the folder where the picture's in. I
don't know if that's the desired value or if it should hold the filename as
well, but I did try inputting the filename after the path, but although it
won't get replaced by Falkon, it doesn't work either.

The bug can be reproduced with a clean install on Windows 10 with version
3.0.0-62, and also on Arch Linux with its package in the extra repo. The onl
difference is that in Arch, the wallpaper can sometimes be saved once for the
first time, but it can't be modified after that.

--- Comment #3 from Kevin Ottens  ---
That's the thing... it shouldn't since in that case it'd just pick a "random"
one for you... but for some reason in your case it'd picked one it didn't like.
I really wonder why.

Heya Yuri,

unfortunately it's not possible to reproduce the crash using your file (it is
not standalone, needs other includes, thus cannot be parsed properly here).

It would be best if you could supply a backtrace of your crash, please check
out the following link to see how to create a crash report on Linux:

[elisa] [Bug 393525] "A Shared Library was not found" when opening "Configure Elisa"

Another error message: this time from the terminal:

```
Error loading plugin: "The shared library was not found."
This module has no valid entry symbol at all. The reason could be that it's
still using K_EXPORT_COMPONENT_FACTORY with a custom X-KDE-FactoryName which is
not supported anymore
[elisa] [Bug 393525] "A Shared Library was not found" when opening "Configure Elisa"
2018-04-25 Thread Nicholas Estrada
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393525
--- Comment #2 from Nicholas Estrada <116ni...@gmail.com> ---
I found the file kcm_elisa_local_file.so in the build/bin directory of the
unzipped source folder, created when I installed Elisa. I moved it to
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kcm_elisa_local_file.so
I then restarted Elisa and tried again. Here's the error message I got:
"The service 'Elisa Local Files Indexer' does not provide an interface
'KCModule' with keyword 'kcm_elisa_local_file'"
So the error message is different. Not sure what it is now. Could it be because
I disabled Baloo on my system? Baloo wasn't a required package and it shouldn't
interfere with the settings module for Elisa.
Okay I opened elisa using the terminal and looked at the output there. Here's
the terminal output when I try opening "Configure Elisa":
```

Can confirm this too on Arch 4.16.3 with Plasma 5.12.4
I tried to fiddle with the font settings and found that the global menu seems
to take its font size only from the "General" font size setting. Maybe the font
size adjustment calls depending on height got messed up?

Found the actual setting that controls this. It's buried deep in Edit >

It is my viewpoint that this should be made the default. I shall submit a patch
shortly, and I expect the ensuing discussion to gather quite a few opinions...

[konsole] [Bug 393523] New: Dragging a file or folder to Konsole should always paste the path

2018-04-25 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393523

Bug ID: 393523
   Summary: Dragging a file or folder to Konsole should always
paste the path
   Product: konsole
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: copy-paste
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When you drag a file or folder to a Konsole window, you get the standard KDE
menu giving you the option to copy, link, paste the path to the item, or
cancel.

The only action that makes any sense is "paste path"; copy and link
conceptually make no sense for this use case and choosing either of them brings
up a scary "that action would replace the file" dialog.

Therefore, Konsole should always interpret dragged files as the desire to paste
the path and not even bother showing the pop-up menu of drag options.

Fixes for this bug (and probably 391634) can be found here:

Anybody willing to get them merged has my blessing. I'll probably try to do it
eventually, but likely not anytime soon, since that phabricator thing does not
look overly inviting to someone trying to quickly drop a few lines of patches.

Sorry, but avoiding spaces at all costs is not a reasonable behavior. Real
people use spaces in their file names, and real tools handle them gracefully.
Shells and CLI tools that can't handles that aren't worth the bits they're
printed on, and you should file bugs against them (or even better, submit
patches) to fix that.

There is also a Poppler bug concerning fonts in annotations which might be
related to the present matter:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65956#c14

Apparently the font configured to be used in the annotation is ignored in
general. Maybe this should be fixed and the rest might work then?

Another point is I agree with comment saying that the shape and size of the
bounding box cannot be reasonably be fixed in advance ("drawn boundaries")
.

I think it should be marked as duplicate of the above Poppler bug; and as for
the "drawn boundaries", a wishlist bug should be opened where the intended
behavior of the "drawn box" could be discussed.

Also, since applications 17.08, it is very easy to reshape the box after the
text is entered.

Forward-duping to Bug 175051 since there's less distracting argumentation in

I should add that I use the Colemak keyboard layout. I can reproduce this bug
with a new user account by switching to colemak, and then assigning Meta+N to
something. It's probably related to this in some way, since keys that are the
same in qwerty and colemak, like H, are unaffected.

We can't have multiple issues tracked in a single bug report. We'll use this
one to track Ark support for ISOs, and we'll use Bug 175051 to track mounting
ISOs.

Since Ark now has ISO support, closing this bug.
