[krita] [Bug 394067] New: Palette is really flakey
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394067 Bug ID: 394067 Summary: Palette is really flakey Product: krita Version: 4.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Dockers Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: k...@kenevans.net Target Milestone: --- I am having trouble using the Palette docker at all. Some examples: I save a new palette, say Test, then select it, then press + to add a color: Nothing happens The added colors seem to appear if I choose another palette, then re-choose Test. Having some colors showing, I then press delete (Circle with slash): Nothing happens. Again, if I choose another palette, then re-choose Test, the color is not there. These two seem reproducible. At other times: Pressing delete: Krita crashes. Sometimes the added colors have appeared but in narrow boxes, not squares. Cannot drag the colors. Sometimes can drag the colors but only to the left. Creating a new Group fills it with ten colors of the last selected color. Can't delete groups. So far have been able to drag a color from one group to another. I haven't quantified all these. I also haven't redone all the tests I made with selecting another palette, then re-selecting Test after doing an operation. The fact that it doesn't refresh is undoubtedly compounding the problems. At a minimum, not refreshing is an issue. I have started and restarted Krita numerous times and cleaned out the bad palettes in AppData/Roaming/krita/Palettes. It has crashed maybe five times in the last couple of hours. I also notice Save does not save the current palette with a new name, but creates a new, empty one. I'm not sure if this is the correct behavior, but it is not what I would expect. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[LabPlot2] [Bug 386800] Custom fitting often fails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386800 --- Comment #24 from Uwe Stöhr --- As I wrote in comment 22: "the fitting result are now correct but as long as LabPlot does not draw the fit curve with the given start parameters, the problem is not fixed in my opinion." > does MagicPlot Pro find the "correct" parameter values when the starting > values are 1,1,1? If it is, then it's almost magic Well, it is called MagicPlot ;-) No, it does not find the optimal fit result with these parameters. it finds this: https://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=108821 The reason this bug is now still open is that LabPlot does not give feedback about the fit curve. So if I use 1,1,1 as start parameter it is very important that LabPlot drawn immediately the function exp(sin(x))+1 into the plot. Then the user gets a feeling if his start parameters are sensible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Kossebau --- Hi. Thanks for having reported this crash. IIRC at that time there had been a few reports like that (done in chats). As the backtrace did not show any hints to what could be wrong in the weather applets (config) code, I had only watched this report, hoping for some further information one day or some QML-internals experienced person to appear to help me. Given it is now many months later, and I have not heard similar reports for a while or experienced myself any crashes despite heavy configuration changing during development testing, I would assume that the actual issue had been somewhere deep in Qt's QML engine code or somewhere in the Plasma Framework code, and since has been fixed there in newer versions. [plasmashell] [Bug 394006] Weather widget applet window too small by default
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394006 Friedrich W. H. Kossebau changed: What|Removed |Added Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|UNCONFIRMED |CONFIRMED --- Comment #1 from Friedrich W. H. Kossebau --- Hi, thanks for the report. This is a known issue with the old layout code of the weather widget for the full presentation mode, which has a hard-coded random initial size. not taking into account any possible content. And that size not only depends on chosen font sizes, but also on data provided by the selected weather service, where some services have lots of days in the forecast, others only a few. And with EnvCan there is additionally this glitch that the forecast reports are split into day & night, screwing over the UI concept and doubling the need-for-width. Myself I have had only adapted this code as maintainer for Plasma 5 and since done some porting and brush over, but did not yet get around to adapt the general Plasma dataengine forecast data model to deal with that. But at least I already have rewritten the UI layout code, which now adapts to the content (few glitches still, but mainly done). Sadly this will be only available for Plasma 5.13 and later, given this also was done based on other refactoring done meanwhile. So for the Plasma LTS versions 5.8 & 5.12 this would be too much of a rewrite for this annoying, but relativly minor bug. Keeping this bug report open for now, but will close it once I am done with the last glitches in the new layout code. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
