[korganizer] [Bug 393059] KOrganizer crashes when using caldav calendar

2018-05-16 Thread bugzy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393059

I was able to find and fix the actual cause of the problem by running the
"calendarjanitor" tool. The tool found an orphaned TODO entry in the affected
calendar. It turns out that whenever I added a new entry into the affected
calendar, the orphaned TODO would cause korganizer to crash when parsing that
calendar. So my new entries (attached above) were not the problem, I was simply
adding new entries to a faulty calendar:

==Output of calendarjanitor (default scan mode):==

Checking for orphans...
[!!]
The following incidences are children of nonexistent parents:

* Found buggy incidence:
id=159344; summary="Set in plant dividers for garden in plot behind
house"
DTSTART=invalid;
DTDUE=invalid;

In fix mode these children will be unparented.

Running the too in fix mode solved the problem and everything has been running
smooth since then.

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi

Application: kopete (1.13.0)

Qt Version: 5.9.3
Frameworks Version: 5.46.0
Operating System: Linux 4.13.0-41-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon LTS User Edition 5.12

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I'm using kopete to communicate through our company local jabber sever.

I have opened several tabs (chats) with different persons. After several
messages (sending/recieving) i changed to another tab. But when i wrote message
to this chat - i can't send my message due to inactivity of "Send" button. So,
the first issue, that "Send" button does not become enabled after text typing
in chat window. Also my send shortcut key doesn't work.
After that - i'm trying to reopen my chat window, to "fix" this issue. But
after close this chat window my kopete crashes.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[plasmashell] [Bug 394119] Panel should not stop auto-hiding even when a window wants attention

2018-05-16 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394119

Yes it's my primary and only panel.

Firefox "wants attention" any time I move the mouse off it without one mouse
event position being on the border (ie if I move the mouse quickly), no idea
why. Also konsole and kvirc often want attention as do various other apps.

I don't know what a SNI is, but this is on a desktop and the only battery
notifications are for my mouse, which goes for about a year on one battery so
popup notifications for that aren't a problem.

I wouldn't mind at all if the panel popped out for a few seconds when something
wanted attention, or even stayed out until I mouseover-mouseoff (which worked
in kde4) - but having the panel remain visible until I focus every single thing
that wants attention is extremely irritating.

The whole reason I want it to autohide is so I can have more uncluttered
desktop space, and as I don't use the panel that often, having it jump out and
*cover things* until I've well and truly interrupted my workflow is a big
problem for me.

The attached patch has quite completely solved my issue, although I completely
understand that it's not the correct solution and states as much in my first
post :)

Perhaps I'll keep it in my local patch list until I (or someone) works out a
more acceptable/generic way to fix this.

I do not know if this behavior still persists. The bank that produced
the problematic file has merged with another institution and the .OFX
file I now receive is nearly useless. There is a small sample file
attached to the bug report that demonstrates the issue.

(To be clear the following is not a KMyMoney issue but rather a bank
issue that illustrates some of the gross inadequates of this bank's .OFX
implementation.

Almost every transaction downloaded must be edited to make it useful.
There is no Memo field only the Name field is given.

I have/had two vehicle and a personal load open and paid automatically.
The name that appears for all three is "Member Transfers" and the only
way to distinguish which is which is by the transaction amount.

All Debit card purchases include the text ATM/Debit Card Purchase as the
first 24 characters of a 30 character field leaving six characters for a
unique name.

All checks written show Share Draft as the payee and do not even include
the check number.

Probably more information than you wanted, but thank you for allowing me
to vent.

[plasmashell] [Bug 394351] New: Plasma suddenly crashes as pointer moves to system tray

2018-05-16 Thread Matheus Marques
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394351

Bug ID: 394351
Summary: Plasma suddenly crashes as pointer moves to system
tray
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.12.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: System Tray
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: martr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 112697
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112697&action=edit
Log report.

Application: plasmashell (5.12.5)

Qt Version: 5.10.1
Frameworks Version: 5.46.0
Operating System: Linux 4.16.8-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Archlinux Packages

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
(I'm filling this on browser as bug reporter had error 410)
Using Waterfox 56.1.0 (64-bit) version, moved my pointer to system tray to
switch wireless on / off (connection was down) and then there's a crash.
Redshift turned off in the meantime.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Redshift suddenly turned off, but I think its a side effect of Plasma crashing.
Albeit it, nothing was unusual.

- Custom settings of the application:
I'm using 'Icons-only Task Manager' as my default bottom bar. As I'm using
Arch and KDE, I have lots of custom and don't know what else I can provide.
Some light would be helpful.

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

[krita] [Bug 394061] Brush blobbing mid-stroke ink_gink_25 | archlinux | wacom cintiq 21ux

2018-05-16 Thread Loren Dias

Created attachment 112696

Brush Soft Mask Issue

I believe we have narrowed down the issue.

The issue only occurs when the the active brush (in this case gink_pen_25) has
a brush setting "Mask Type" of "Soft".

We have removed evdev and confirmed that the issue is not present on
krita-3.3.3-2 and confirmed that the issue follows the painttopresets pen by
resetting the ~/.local/share/krita profile aswell.

[plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic

> just that.

The leak demonstrated by rapidly scrolling the list of available widgets occurs
*much* more slowly on my system now than it used to. I too could previously get
plasmashell up over 1 GB in under a minute. I tried again just now and was able
to bloat it up from just under 200 MB to over 300 MB with about five minutes of
scrolling the widgets list. So it's *better* but still not totally solved.

The leak demonstrated by the slideshow is fully gone for me. I am running a
slideshow of 2560x1600 images every 2 seconds with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic as I
write this, and both plasmashell's memory usage and the VRAM usage (as reported
by radeontop) are remaining in a narrow range.

[kdenlive] [Bug 352489] 15.13 git master: MLT processing threads>1 causes (re)positioning playhead to not work any longer

I'm noting this happens on my machine too (arch linux kdenlive 18.04.1 mlt
6.8.0 on intel i7-6500U), and the workaround of reducing MLT thread count to 1
works.

I'm also noting that I can't step through individual frames with right or left
keyboard buttons when I have >1 thread, but I can with only 1 thread. I
suspect this is related to this issue.

I'm also noting that on demanding multi-track videos, that with >1 thread I
notice that pressing spacebar to initiate playback will result in playback
playing like half a second and then restarting playback a few times (similar to
how a CD player would loop when stuck on a bad disc). However on the same
video with only 1 thread, the playback won't experience that multiple false
start looping problem, but will instead simply take a little bit longer to get
rolling. I'm thinking while this might be related to the issue of the playhead
not working properly...(maybe the multiple threads send conflicting information
about the progress of processing of the start frame, which confuses the
playhead cursor). I can't find this issue in the issue tracker...so I'm
mentioning it here cause I think might be the same underlying issue.

David, I'm not a packager, nor a Qt/C++ dev so I couldn't point you at much
except for user facing stuff.
The link looks like a commit. If you're asking if my system has that included,
I don't know how to check precisely (I assume it would be in binary form
anyway). But you mentioned at some point it should be in Qt >= 5.9.3. Kubuntu
18.04 has 5.9.5.
I was hoping someone could reproduce what I showed in the videos, with the
known fixes applied: either switch wallpapers manually for a couple of minutes
or start a slideshow with 4k images and change from 3s to 2s in the middle of
it. Memory should increase continuously and not be released.

Matt, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say which memory leak this is, or the
precise nature of it, but scrolling the list of widgets doesn't do much for my
system as you can see in the first video in my comment #106. When I was using
KDE Neon I could get the memory usage to 1GB in a few seconds by doing just
that.
Keep in mind that Kubuntu 18.04 has backported the Qt patch slated for release
with Qt 5.11.
As it stands, in practice, Kubuntu's memory seems fine as long as I don't test
a new wallpaper to use, or fiddle with the slideshow feature.

Can you give some more background on your specific situation.

Patch as-is definitley isn't oging in, it'll break way too much, but there's a
few options on what the best approach forward is.

Is it your primary panel?
Which app keeps becoming needs attention any why? Does it have any other
alternative notification?
Any issues with SNIs being marked as needsattention? (from within plasma I
think that's only the battery when on <15% power)

[plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic

2018-05-16 Thread Matt Whitlock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838

(In reply to David Edmundson from comment #112)
> @Matt
> How can you tell what is leaking from looking at comment #0?

There have been at least two distinct memory leaks discussed in this thread.
The original report by Antonio Orefice is about a memory leak that occurs when
Plasma renders images. Antonio posted a link to a video demonstrating the leak
in Comment #59. I am able to reproduce his leak by the same method: force
Plasma to paint a lot of images in a short amount of time. It will also leak
just the same eventually in normal use, but it takes longer. The leak occurs
even without opening the "Add Widget" panel and scrolling the list up and down
like mad, but that's one quick way to reproduce it.

The other leak was due to the logic error that you described in Comment #86.
That leak has been fixed by https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/202781/.

> and what do you mean by an "in-process leak". All leaks are in-process.

Firstly, that's not true; it's entirely possible to leak pixmaps, and those are
in the X server's process, not the X client's. But in this case, what I meant
was that the leak that was fixed by calling endSync() was a leak of graphics
memory, not a leak of system memory, so it wasn't accounted to the plasmashell
process.

As another test, I have left Dolphin open for the last two days. Now clicking
on any GUI element shows several seconds of delay and refreshing the file panes
is very slow.

"top" shows high CPU usage for Dolphin in response to these routine GUI
actions. Closing Dolphin causes 100% CPU usage for several seconds.

After reopening Dolphin, normal responsiveness returns for most actions (but
not for bookmarks in the Places panel).

CD/DVD images aren't ejected properly when cdemu is being used. After they been
ejected device notifier still lists them. Dolphin lists them too in the device
section.

Actually the folder in /run/media/user disappears after unmounting but the
image (.iso, bin, etc) is still present in the device notifier and Dolphin.
This happens only with CD/DVD images. With flash drives all works as intended.
Here you are some screenshots:

The image is mounted and is properly listed in Dolphin and device manager:
https://s7.postimg.cc/apt0ux5l7/image.png
https://s7.postimg.cc/6goastmx7/image.png

The folder in /run/media/user is also there:
https://s7.postimg.cc/jm3syhlt7/image.png

When the image is being ejected from Dolphin or the device manager, the folder
in /run/media/user disappears but Dolphin and the device manager continue to
list it. If you close and open Dolphin, the image disappears from it's device
list, but it is actually there and it exists in the device manager and the icon
for pluged removable devices is still being shown in the panel. This icon can
onle be removed if the DE or machine is restarted.

Here are some screenshots:
The image is unmounted either from Dolphin or from the device manager. It makes
no difference, the result is all the same. The options for eject or release are
gone:
https://s7.postimg.cc/41wf8696j/image.png

The folder in /run/media/user has diappeared:
https://s7.postimg.cc/xtthn6o8b/image.png

The icon in the panel is still here and the device manager still lists the
image file with the three actions for this mime type which doesn't work for the
image isn't there:
https://s7.postimg.cc/kqxv3txzf/image.png
https://s7.postimg.cc/ru5qjwdu3/Screenshot_20180517_002007.png

If one of the three options are being chosen, the malformed url error appears
because the image is gone:

@Ovidiu, A packager stating something doesn't necessarily mean much. Can you
point me to the packaging code. Also do you have
https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/202781/ which is for a different leak.

@Matt
How can you tell what is leaking from looking at comment #0? and what do you
mean by an "in-process leak". All leaks are in-process.

Although we know investments still need major work, I'm changing from critical
to normal.

Are you still getting the reversed interest? Are you using 5.x on Linux and
4.8 on Windows? If the interest calculation is really wrong, it does deserve
more attention. Also, where are you seeing wrong investment interest that you
think would be fixed by including additional categories? Or - is this a
translation issue, and you are talking about a different display or report?
Please give an example so we can be sure what you mean.

[frameworks-solid] [Bug 394348] New: Umounting image, like iso, does not hide in system tray

2018-05-16 Thread Anthony Fieroni
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394348

Bug ID: 394348
Summary: Umounting image, like iso, does not hide in system
tray
   Product: frameworks-solid
   Version: 5.46.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: lu...@kde.org
  Reporter: bvb...@abv.bg
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Unounting flash drive works as expected e.g. notification tray icon goes empty
and hide, but umounting iso image via eject buttons, does not hide entry even
menu is still accessible but image is *really* umounting -
/run/media/ is empty. So i think is Solid related bug, please fix
me if i'm wrong. It'll follow a screenshot by original reporter.

I installed the app version on the microsoft store on my surface pro. it
currently feel unuseable cause of a runtime error that pops up shortly after
making a canvas. do you think this is a problem that could be solved by
uninstalling then reinstalling? if so would all my work created be safe? or is
there a less drastic measure?

[lokalize] [Bug 394347] New: Lokalize uses wrong language for spell checking

2018-05-16 Thread Karl Ove Hufthammer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394347

Bug ID: 394347
Summary: Lokalize uses wrong language for spell checking
   Product: lokalize
   Version: 2.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: editor
  Assignee: sha...@ukr.net
  Reporter: k...@huftis.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Lokalize seems to randomly *guess* the language to use for spell-checking
strings, resulting in many words incorrectly being marked as misspelled.

What it *should* do: 1) Use the language set in the file header or, if this
doesn’t exist, 2) use the language set in the project options.

Simple demonstration that Lokalize guesses the language:

Open any PO file containing translations. Hover over the translation pane. A
tooltip with the language name and code will be displayed (example: ‘Danish
(da_DK)’). This is the language that is used for spell checking. Right-click on
a word that is marked as misspelled to confirm (this shows a list of
translation suggestions in that language). Move to a different string and
observe that the language detected is (sometimes) different.

This is especially a problem for languages that are similar (share many words),
e.g. Norwegian Nynorsk, Norwegian Bokmål and Danish.
