[korganizer] [Bug 393059] KOrganizer crashes when using caldav calendar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393059 --- Comment #9 from bugzy --- I was able to find and fix the actual cause of the problem by running the "calendarjanitor" tool. The tool found an orphaned TODO entry in the affected calendar. It turns out that whenever I added a new entry into the affected calendar, the orphaned TODO would cause korganizer to crash when parsing that calendar. So my new entries (attached above) were not the problem, I was simply adding new entries to a faulty calendar: ==Output of calendarjanitor (default scan mode):== Checking for orphans... [!!] The following incidences are children of nonexistent parents: * Found buggy incidence: id=159344; summary="Set in plant dividers for garden in plot behind house" DTSTART=invalid; DTDUE=invalid; In fix mode these children will be unparented. Running the too in fix mode solved the problem and everything has been running smooth since then. ==Output of calendarjanitor --fix (fix mode):== Checking for orphans... [plasmashell] [Bug 394119] Panel should not stop auto-hiding even when a window wants attention
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394119 --- Comment #5 from triffid.hun...@gmail.com --- Yes it's my primary and only panel. Firefox "wants attention" any time I move the mouse off it without one mouse event position being on the border (ie if I move the mouse quickly), no idea why. Also konsole and kvirc often want attention as do various other apps. I don't know what a SNI is, but this is on a desktop and the only battery notifications are for my mouse, which goes for about a year on one battery so popup notifications for that aren't a problem. I wouldn't mind at all if the panel popped out for a few seconds when something wanted attention, or even stayed out until I mouseover-mouseoff (which worked in kde4) - but having the panel remain visible until I focus every single thing that wants attention is extremely irritating. The whole reason I want it to autohide is so I can have more uncluttered desktop space, and as I don't use the panel that often, having it jump out and *cover things* until I've well and truly interrupted my workflow is a big problem for me. The attached patch has quite completely solved my issue, although I completely understand that it's not the correct solution and states as much in my first post :) Perhaps I'll keep it in my local patch list until I (or someone) works out a more acceptable/generic way to fix this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

There have been > changes to the import code - but I do not know if this behavior should have > changed, as I do not have this issue with the OFX files that I import. > I do not know if this behavior still persists. The bank that produced the problematic file has merged with another institution and the .OFX file I now receive is nearly useless. There is a small sample file attached to the bug report that demonstrates the issue. (To be clear the following is not a KMyMoney issue but rather a bank issue that illustrates some of the gross inadequates of this bank's .OFX implementation. Almost every transaction downloaded must be edited to make it useful. There is no Memo field only the Name field is given. I have/had two vehicle and a personal load open and paid automatically. The name that appears for all three is "Member Transfers" and the only way to distinguish which is which is by the transaction amount. All Debit card purchases include the text ATM/Debit Card Purchase as the first 24 characters of a 30 character field leaving six characters for a unique name. All checks written show Share Draft as the payee and do not even include the check number. [plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838 --- Comment #116 from Matt Whitlock --- (In reply to Ovidiu Chi from comment #114) > Matt, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say which memory leak this is, or the > precise nature of it, but scrolling the list of widgets doesn't do much for > my system as you can see in the first video in my comment #106. When I was > using KDE Neon I could get the memory usage to 1GB in a few seconds by doing > just that. The leak demonstrated by rapidly scrolling the list of available widgets occurs *much* more slowly on my system now than it used to. I too could previously get plasmashell up over 1 GB in under a minute. I tried again just now and was able to bloat it up from just under 200 MB to over 300 MB with about five minutes of scrolling the widgets list. So it's *better* but still not totally solved. The leak demonstrated by the slideshow is fully gone for me. I am running a slideshow of 2560x1600 images every 2 seconds with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic as I write this, and both plasmashell's memory usage and the VRAM usage (as reported by radeontop) are remaining in a narrow range. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdenlive] [Bug 352489] 15.13 git master: MLT processing threads>1 causes (re)positioning playhead to not work any longer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352489 Eric Fontaine changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ericrfonta...@hotmail.com --- Comment #16 from Eric Fontaine --- I'm noting this happens on my machine too (arch linux kdenlive 18.04.1 mlt 6.8.0 on intel i7-6500U), and the workaround of reducing MLT thread count to 1 works. I'm also noting that I can't step through individual frames with right or left keyboard buttons when I have >1 thread, but I can with only 1 thread. I suspect this is related to this issue. I'm also noting that on demanding multi-track videos, that with >1 thread I notice that pressing spacebar to initiate playback will result in playback playing like half a second and then restarting playback a few times (similar to how a CD player would loop when stuck on a bad disc). However on the same video with only 1 thread, the playback won't experience that multiple false start looping problem, but will instead simply take a little bit longer to get rolling. I'm thinking while this might be related to the issue of the playhead not working properly...(maybe the multiple threads send conflicting information about the progress of processing of the start frame, which confuses the playhead cursor). I can't find this issue in the issue tracker...so I'm mentioning it here cause I think might be the same underlying issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838 --- Comment #115 from Ovidiu Chi --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #112) > @Ovidiu, A packager stating something doesn't necessarily mean much. Can you > point me to the packaging code. Also do you have > https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/202781/ which is for a different leak. David, I'm not a packager, nor a Qt/C++ dev so I couldn't point you at much except for user facing stuff. The link looks like a commit. If you're asking if my system has that included, I don't know how to check precisely (I assume it would be in binary form anyway). But you mentioned at some point it should be in Qt >= 5.9.3. Kubuntu 18.04 has 5.9.5. I was hoping someone could reproduce what I showed in the videos, with the known fixes applied: either switch wallpapers manually for a couple of minutes or start a slideshow with 4k images and change from 3s to 2s in the middle of it. Memory should increase continuously and not be released. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838 --- Comment #114 from Ovidiu Chi --- (In reply to Matt Whitlock from comment #113) Matt, I'm not knowledgeable enough to say which memory leak this is, or the precise nature of it, but scrolling the list of widgets doesn't do much for my system as you can see in the first video in my comment #106. When I was using KDE Neon I could get the memory usage to 1GB in a few seconds by doing just that. Keep in mind that Kubuntu 18.04 has backported the Qt patch slated for release with Qt 5.11. As it stands, in practice, Kubuntu's memory seems fine as long as I don't test a new wallpaper to use, or fiddle with the slideshow feature. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 368838] plasmashell memory leak when slideshow is used for wallpaper/media frame/photo widget with QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368838 --- Comment #113 from Matt Whitlock --- (In reply to David Edmundson from comment #112) > @Matt > How can you tell what is leaking from looking at comment #0? There have been at least two distinct memory leaks discussed in this thread. The original report by Antonio Orefice is about a memory leak that occurs when Plasma renders images. Antonio posted a link to a video demonstrating the leak in Comment #59. I am able to reproduce his leak by the same method: force Plasma to paint a lot of images in a short amount of time. It will also leak just the same eventually in normal use, but it takes longer. The leak occurs even without opening the "Add Widget" panel and scrolling the list up and down like mad, but that's one quick way to reproduce it. The other leak was due to the logic error that you described in Comment #86. That leak has been fixed by https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/202781/. > and what do you mean by an "in-process leak". All leaks are in-process. Firstly, that's not true; it's entirely possible to leak pixmaps, and those are in the X server's process, not the X client's. But in this case, what I meant was that the leak that was fixed by calling endSync() was a leak of graphics memory, not a leak of system memory, so it wasn't accounted to the plasmashell process. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

What it *should* do: 1) Use the language set in the file header or, if this doesn’t exist, 2) use the language set in the project options. Simple demonstration that Lokalize guesses the language: Open any PO file containing translations. Hover over the translation pane. A tooltip with the language name and code will be displayed (example: ‘Danish (da_DK)’). This is the language that is used for spell checking. Right-click on a word that is marked as misspelled to confirm (this shows a list of translation suggestions in that language).
