I've reported this upstream.

You're correct that it is unreasonable to expect KWin to workaround this. :/

Please report to xwayland that it doesn't show these warnings. We are not going
to add functionality to customize xwayland command arguments.

According to another forum's post on a similar issue, -nolisten inet6 solves
this issue. Would be nice to be able to customize some of the options passed to

[kwin] [Bug 394431] New: KWin hangs forever when trying to start with XWayland with inet6-related errors

2018-05-18 Thread Kyle Devir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394431

Bug ID: 394431
Summary: KWin hangs forever when trying to start with XWayland
with inet6-related errors
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.12.90
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: platform-x11-nested
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kyle.de...@mykolab.com
  Target Milestone: ---

This happens when I start KWin from the VT using startplasmawayland, or
starting a nested kwin_wayland using the --xwayland option.

I get this error repeated endlessly:

_XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for inet6
_XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for inet6/valmar-desktop:15579
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for inet6

Additionally, I run a custom Arch kernel with IPv6 disabled, because it has
caused mysterious DNS resolution slowdown for me in the past.

Bumped into this bug and it's super annoying to dance around with complicated
nested group setup to use masks and pass-through feature. And frankly don't
even understand why that limitation exists at all since you can already change
opacity of the group.

I'm having trouble reproducing this so far. Any other details you could notice

"Save" in the dialog, then without closing the dialog, saving the DB, right?
And the editor dialog resets?

[frameworks-kimageformats] [Bug 360821] Show xcf files (from Gimp 2.9) not (yet...) working

2018-05-18 Thread Jehan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360821

So I spent a good part of my day updating the docs, and I think it's not too
bad now. After reviewing myself the changes, I think that the main points
you'll want to check are:

- of course the new layer modes algorithms, as you note, but also the new
composite mode, composite space and blend mode properties.
- the fact that pointers can now be on 8 bytes (XCF 11 and over).
- zlib compression

We recently overhauled the statusbar in Gwenview. Going forward, we decided to
mostly show document counters and selection/file size information in the status
bar, while keeping the image dimensions in the information sidebar as well as
in the titlebar.

Note that you can also add this information to the thumbnails in Browse mode
via "View → Thumbnail Details → Image Size".

[krita] [Bug 394061] Brush blobbing mid-stroke ink_gink_25 | archlinux | wacom cintiq 21ux

2018-05-18 Thread Quiralta
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394061

Based on your last screenshot I can tell you are not using the default curve
(or a least not the one in the Krita3-pack that comes included in later
versions.

I do can reproduce some "bubble" kind-of if I put little pressure (see my first
screenshot) but again that seems like spacing value (set at auto) and look at
the second screenshot set at 02, complete smoothness.

I would think that if this is the only preset you experience this, and only
when you modify it, then is not a bug, but simply a matter of finding the good
value for your tablet/pressure.

I do recommend to try other brushes and see if (in their original settings)
bring the problem. Also this will not be a issue either with the drivers, there
is no need to get rid of input-wacom as it brings more features to your tablet,
although evdev is pretty much history specially on distros like Arch where is
likely to go away sooner than expected.

First pic= shows bubbles and default settings for soft in mask type.
https://i.imgur.com/lA2Drk4.jpg

Second pic= shows no bubbles and changed spacing. (test strokes right under the
settings dialog)
https://i.imgur.com/fKNa0Nt.jpg

Sorry for the delayed response and I hope it helps you a little on how to sort
this out, if you feel is the personal customization that gets things "wonky"
and not a bug feel free to close as invalid :)

Is there any resolution to this? I still have the problem with KMyMoney git
master. I don't use umbrello, so I don't know if the problem remains there or
not. The QT bug looks like it was closed as "out of scope" which sounds to me
like it was NOT fixed. As my concern is with KMyMoney, do I need to open a
separate bug, or is there some way to treat this more generally?

Various clocks, same calendar error

There appears to be a bug in org.plasma.component.calendar that highlights the
wrong day for "today". It's a day behind. I tried it in every clock plasmoid
that displays a calendar and got the same incorrect result. They all use the
same library. I also checked `hwclock` on my machine and it's accurate.

With dolphin kde-apps/17.12.3 and kde-frameworks/kio 5.43.0-r1 the problem is
definitely gone.

I usually keep my Gentoo installation updated and I think the crash stopped
happening last autumn. I just forgot to report on that.

Git commit 1d8c0c10ca99b086b77b0365a471cafa391b0687 by Dmitry Kazakov, on
behalf of Emmet O'Neill.
Committed on 18/05/2018 at 19:24.
Pushed by dkazakov into branch 'master'.

Bug fix: Ctrl-activated color picker no longer glitches out when double
clicking with a mouse.

Summary:
Currently a glitch exists where double clicking with a mouse while using the
ctrl key-activated color picker causes the `KisAbstractInputAction::eventPos`
and ``KisAbstractInputAction::eventPosF` functions to return an incorrect
value, which then causes the ctrl-picker to return an undefined and unwanted
color (usually black or white).

This patch fixes this bug by simply adding the `QEvent::MouseButtonDblClick`
case to both switch statements, returning the correct position info for the
abstract input events.

I believe this should close https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394396 .
Although the user reported a crash associated with this bug, I was unable to
reproduce any.

I also threw in some tiny formatting/style changes while I was in those files.

Test Plan:
Using a mouse, select the Brush Tool, hold the Ctrl Key to pop up a color
picker, and double click.

Without this patch applied the picked color will often incorrectly be pure
black or pure white, which seems to change depending on the zoom level.

After this patch, double clicking should not create any unwanted or
unpredictable behavior from the ctrl-picker.

The behaviour you describe matches what bug 392408 was about, though I really
had the impression that it was fixed in both the nightly builds and 4.0.2/3.

I will either need to be able to reproduce it myself or see a Process Monitor
capture of things happening. Since I am not able to reproduce it, would you be
able to get a capture with Process Monitor? You should make the capture with
the filter "path contains 'C:\Users\Will\Dropbox\[something]'" and then attempt
to save a file in the folder [something] (pick a name and create the folder
beforehand).

Description:
After a while since the begin of my kde session (I didn't identfy the event
that causes it) the window of EACH system tray objects doesn't show up any
more. The tooltip shows up but the window doesn't.
I have to relog in the session to let it work again.
This happens with my current Fedora27 and kde 5.44.0 but the problem was
present on my previous Fedora26 from some time (I upgraded my Fedora just to
hopefully solve this problem)

Steps to Reproduce:
I didn't identfy the event that causes it but I have the feeling that it occurs
after few switch among virtual desktops (I use 4 of them)

[plasmashell] [Bug 393912] The Activities switcher steal the focus after I switch using meta+tab and after that it does not autohide

This behaviour has been around for quite a while. It's very annoying, I
haven't found any workaround as of yet. It is not even 'reproducible' (though
it happens all the time). It seems to be a timing issue of some sort -- Doing
meta-tab very slowly makes it never seem to occur... going _very_ fast seems to
make it rarer as well.

I turned off meta (the Windows key) opening up the application menu, wondering
if it might be a conflict. This did not help.

Clicking "remove from this tag" doesn't remove the brush from the My Favorites
tag. You can add to it but you can't remove the preloaded brushes from the tag.
If you add a new brush to the tag and then go to remove it you can, though.

Since commit 2683d4c6e60a9b8cca32f9b342d9010f4cc46086, the folder view is
displayed expanded in the panel instead of as a pop-up icon. You need to make
the panel absurdly narrow to turn it into an icon. This makes the applet
useless, since it only has room to display the title.

I suspect one possibility this doesn't work is because the config doesn't
actually change, so it's not reloaded.

If so, a workaround is to use a differently named file each time, that should
help ensure that 'writeConfig' actually changes
