Since adding a second account to kmail I get many unnamed identities popping up
without any input from me. Is there anything I can do to debug this? I don't
see anything in the journal.

[Spectacle] [Bug 394504] New: Calculate %Y, %M, %D, %H, %m, %S at the time of capturing screenshot

   Summary: Calculate %Y, %M, %D, %H, %m, %S at the time of

Pattern of saved filename can be configured in Spectacle configuration in
"Save" tab as e.g. "Screenshot_%Y%M%D_%H%m%S".

Currently %Y, %M, %D, %H, %m, %S are calculated at the time of pressing "Save
As" button and opening "Save File" window or at the time of pressing "Save"
button.

The reasonable behavior would be to calculate %Y, %M, %D, %H, %m, %S at the
time of capturing screenshot.

What's the problem exactly? It's not clear so far. Please provide steps and
screenshots, what system and Krusader version you're using. Are you using
{Krusader - root mode} menu entry like Toni said? It's been removed since v2.6.
Current stable is v2.7.0 - please consider upgrading if you haven't done so.

If you still want to run krusader in a root mode, please run `sudo krusader`.

Thanks for the screenshots, Toni. My system doesn't have the issue with Oxygen
icons. `su -` changes environment to root user env, it may be that under Ubuntu
it's not configured well enough. Are you using v2.7? What `krusader -d` shows?

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

It is a recent regression in Konsole (introduced somewhen on >=2018-05-09).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Find some longer word or write it (e.g. "aa")
2. Double-click this word to select it, keep mouse button pressed and move
mouse cursor to the right

This results in additonally selecting text (often whitespace) located right to
mouse cursor.

The longer the word, the easier to notice this problem.

When using "Rectangular Region", guidelines for the area, if any, are not

It is impossible to filter out modules in a kdesrc-build run using
--ignore-modules [modules ... ], either at cmdline or in the rcfile, if those
modules would be picked up by --include-dependencies.

Testcase:

"kdesrc-build --include-dependencies -p dolphin --ignore-modules khtml" should
avoid building KHTML, but does not. The same is true if equivalent options are
set in the config file.

As far as I can tell, the bug is still present on Plasma 5.10.5 (Kubuntu

Graphics 640, Dell XPS13).
I didn't do much testing, but it seems to happen more likely when I'm using an
external monitor connected via the USB-C dongle.

Not sure what other info I should provide, but I'll be happy to do it, if
somebody thinks it would be helpful.

Unfortunately right now I have no access to my laptop, I will in a week.
However I'm pretty sure that it is happening regardless of how many monitors I
connect. IIRC, it is the same with only the internal screen or with one or two
external monitors connected. However, v in a few days I will be able to check
this.

Why would it ? There could be valid reasons for having such large pictures.

What you could do however:
- stop hotlinking the dot pictures for your blog (the sysadmins will thank you)
- resize them, people with low bandwith will thank you.

[plasmashell] [Bug 394491] New: Segfault while looking at menu

2018-05-20 Thread Steve Soule
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394491

Bug ID: 394491
Summary: Segfault while looking at menu
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.7
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: sts33n...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.8.7)

Qt Version: 5.6.2
Frameworks Version: 5.32.0
Operating System: Linux 4.4.126-48-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.3"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I clicked on the Application Menu, went to the Games submenu, looked at some of
the sub-submenus, realized what I wanted was actually under the Internet
submenu, and moved over to that submenu. Then the menus and the task bar
disappeared, apparently because something important crashed.

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

[kmymoney] [Bug 393953] Can't print to PDF or printer

2018-05-20 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393953

Well, i'm getting even more confused. I compiled from git master on an Artix
Linux box, and it prints OK with or without WebEngine. On my Gentoo box, I
finally just removed the system version, since it always insisted on loading
the system plugins instead of the new ones. I've tried to gdb step through to
find what is happening, but at least two tries failed because it didn't even
load the reports view. I might try to trace through printing of the home page,
but that seems to be done in a higher level KDE routine, not within KMM. I
finally did get to step through the reportsview printing, but I just don't
follow what's happening.

Question: is there anyone seeing this problem who is NOT on Gentoo? While I'm
still open to any other suggestions here, I'm going to try looking for
suggestions within the Gentoo community.

>From the About KMyMoney, Libraries tab, I currently have
KDE Frameworks 5.43.0
Qt 5.9.4 (built against 5.7.1)

Tested with PTK-640 (00B9)
GIMP 2.10 from flatpak
Current wacomtablet from git
xf86-input-wacom-0.36.0
Kenrel 4.16.7

Mapping buttons to [ and ] seems to work fine, however buttons send only a
single click so you need to press them multiple times to see any noticable
effect. However I use russian keyboard so I don't need to press any extra keys
to get square brackets.

I've tried setting the key to Shift+[ to get { and it still works. Setting
Alt+F4 combination works too. I'll close it for now since this bug is four
years old. Feel free to comment & reopen if it's still somehow relevant and
happens.

Appears to be an old bug (but I'm not sure).

How about you try the suggestion in the duplicate bug - mapping the pen button

Closing now, because you have to uncheck "Ignore images" in Klipper's settings
for this to work if you checked "Quit after Save or Copy" in Spectacle.

I guess we should add some kind of warning message to the copy button regarding
this (unfortunate) obstacle.

(See the duplicate for more information why it behaves this way.)

Yes, you've got it!
Indeed, this box was checked. Immediately when I unchecked the box, copy to
clipboard and pasting into Thunderbird ==> works. Hurra!

Pls. feel free to close this issue, if you think this is expected behaviour.

In my view, the "Copy to clipboard" should work independently from the setting
of this checkbox.

At least, the text and button should be removed, or greyed out, because this
function does not work if the checkbox is activated.

[kde] [Bug 394489] New: Graphical glitches on panel

2018-05-20 Thread David

Bug ID: 394489

  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

  Reporter: kaig...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 112780
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=112780=edit
Glitch in panel UI

As you can see in the attachment, my task-manager only shows black, distorted
boxes instead of the symbols. It somehow appears that the color gets inverted.

I have encountered this issue for the second time now. It seems to happen
randomly while using the PC with an external LCD (not sure though if it has
something to do with that). It affects the panel and its symbols as well as the
application launcher. It does not make a difference if icon-only task manager
is used or the standard one.

My notebook is a Elitebook 810 Revolve G3, i5 5200U with integrated graphics
running Tumbleweed, Kernel 4.16.8, Mesa 18.0.3, Plasma 5.12.5, Frameworks 5.45,
QT 5.10.0.

This information helps indeed. You are using a development snapshop from
November last year.

I am not sure how familiar you are with compiling KBibTeX yourself, but maybe
there is a way for you to get a more recent (K)Ubuntu package from some PPA?
Please check if you can get debugging information for this more recent package,
as this is required to get source code line numbers in backtraces at crashes.

I've also experienced this, but with a twist: when I first experimented with
SMS reply, it worked as expected, but now it no longer does. The "Reply" option
shows up, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I'm also unable to access
the SMS option in the KDE Connect Indicator dropdown. I installed the KDE
Connect dependency tree after successfully replying, so I'm wondering if
something in that process impacted the SMS function?

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 with a Motorola Moto G4 phone. KDE Connect version is
1.3.0-0ubuntu1 on the desktop and 1.8.4 on the phone.

Hm, not sure what to do now, because I cannot reproduce the problem.

Maybe that question is too trivial to ask, but do you get the message "The
screenshot has been copied to the clipboard." after clicking on "Copy To
Clipboard" in Spectacle?

> perhaps you are not even running Plasma, or you are using another

Could you tell us what desktop environment you are using and whether the
clipboard applet is running?

You can also try with a new user to eliminate any problem with your local
configuration or non-standard software.

that's interesting thought thank you, to me it doesn't sound right, I'm not a
technical person but I think it must be update related becasue of the temporal
relation between the two, unless the update somehow broke the existing driver
which probably isn't right, or else my drivers are incompatible with something
new in the update , and therefore now 'broken', regardless I made sure I
updated all the drivers I could via manjaro but no difference, and as noted,
there is discrepency when switching to wayland, it works via wayland, as much
as wayland so far works, so I would guess it's compostor related, no hassle
though I have dualboot as a back up in event eveything breaks, I'm really happy
with the way KDE is shaping up so far, thanks to you guys!

Confirmed: this works (Mozilla -> TB; Mozilla -> GIMP)

> Composition".

This setting _was_ and _is_ activated.

However, I _just_ found this:

I _recently_ disabled (as mitigation/ad-hoc solution to #efail issues) in TB
the _VIEW_ Setting from HTML or SIMPLIFIED HTML to TEXTONLY.

Summary:

1. Image pasting from MOZILLA is not possible for TEXTONLY, but is possible
when HTML or SIMPLIFIED HTML is selected.
2. Image pasting from SPECTACLE is not possible in any of the three selections.

I've re-tested this in git version of Krusader (2.7.0+) and now the behaviour
is this: After a few seconds tar protocol give up opening the archive and
writes a regular red protocol error in upper side of the panel.

This is probably a limitation of tar protocol provided by kio-extras project.
Interesting is that there is no problem opening such archive in ark.

Anyway mentioned bug ("200% complete") is not happening anymore (probably fixed
in kio-extras) and problem with opening big archives by tar protocol can be
reported to kio-extras project. I'm closing this bug now. Please feel free to
reopen if I was wrong :).

[krusader] [Bug 393320] Editing a local path in Bookmark Manager breaks a bookmark

2018-05-20 Thread Martin Kostolný
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393320

Sorry, I forgot about it. Now I've found the change in KIO which is causing the
crash. Q_ASSERT for emptiness of protocol was added and briefly discussed here:
https://phabricator.kde.org/D11013

IMO it makes sense that caller with empty protocol (Krusader in this case) is
the one that need to be fixed instead informing user of an incorrect URL which
regular user is not able to fix anyway.

KIO change only made this bug (393320) more important to fix now:).

2018-05-20 Thread Henrik Fehlauer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394479

Well, we need a way to distinguish between a general clipboard problem with
your system or Thunderbird, and something specific to Spectacle. Can you try to
open an image in Firefox, select "Copy Image" in the context menu and paste
into GIMP and Thunderbird?

BTW, I now can paste from Spectacle and elsewhere to Thunderbird after enabling
"Compose messages in HTML format" under "Account Settings → Composition".

> What do you mean with "Klipper's settings" ?
Klipper is Plasma's clipboard manager applet, which you'll find in the system
tray. Right-clicking on it will offer "Configure Clipboard". But perhaps you
are not running even running Plasma, or you are using another clipboard
manager?

   Product: krita
   Version: 4.0.1

[^ screenshot of the bug]

Hi, this is a bug seen on Krita Sprint 2018 (sunday afternoon): when
double-click on a *.bundle file in filemanager open Krita, but fails to
auto-install.

To reproduce:
=
1. Download a bundle on your disk (eg. from
https://www.peppercarrot.com/extras/resources/ )
2. In the filemanager, open the bundle

Result:
===
Krita is loading (the file association is done by the system/distro?) then a
message displays warning: "Could not open this format, Reason Krita doesn't
support this format." (it can be hidden behind the splash screen)

Expected:
=
Having Krita loading is fine, but it would be better if the *.bundle could be
installed that way too. (eg. Showing the resources manager containing the
bundle with a green information message: "bundlename.bundle installed and
activated"
