[kdevelop] [Bug 395986] New: HELP / F1 Does Not Work on Windows 10
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395986 Bug ID: 395986 Summary: HELP / F1 Does Not Work on Windows 10 Product: kdevelop Version: 5.2.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Documentation viewer Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: william.full.m...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I have installed KDevelop on Windows 10. I am just getting started. I wanted to see what the command line options were. There is a little pop-up but it won't let me copy the text can I can look at it. (That's another story). I pressed F1 for help and I had that annoying Windows app store pop-up saying I need an application to read this file. BUT, being Windows, it did Not tell me What file it was trying to read. In contrast I have also installed KATE on this PC. When I press Kate's F1 I go to a web page. - https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/applications/kate/index.html So I know the basic mechanism works. It KDevelop also a web page? I think, in general, it would be good for these menu items ot show a tooktip with the name of the resource it uses. And for bonus points such a tool tip CAN support a right-mouse-click option to COPY hte path/URL to the resource. That would be very handy. Anyway I used Choco (Chocolatey) to install Kate, KDevelop and Ockular. I figured either way I'd have the help covered. Once last question -- can you say where to look for the KDevelop help page? Many thanks and kind regards. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 395985] New: QIF Export manually typing file path adds .qif after every character
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395985 Bug ID: 395985 Summary: QIF Export manually typing file path adds .qif after every character Product: kmymoney Version: 5.0.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: exporter Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: chrisjoshtop...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- When trying to manually type a path in at the QIF export dialog, the string ".qif" gets added automatically after each character press. See the linked gif showing what is happening on my computer when I type "a" followed by "b" then "c". https://gfycat.com/SkeletalThunderousCockroach The final string is "a.qifb.qifc.qif" and if you choose to export with that in the path field then the file is written to $HOME/a.qifb.qifc.qif (on linux, I presume similar for other operating systems?) If you write the path you want in a separate program such as a text editor, you can copy and paste the path into the field and it will export to the path/file given as expected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[gwenview] [Bug 395925] gwenview main menu broken
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395925 --- Comment #9 from Duncan <1i5t5.dun...@cox.net> --- Created attachment 113637 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113637=edit Hack-around partial-revert patch Once I bisected to a single commit I had a patch I could try to revert. But based on the error when I tried there were a couple files that have further changed in that area since then and the revert wouldn't cleanly apply. So I semi-blind (as I'm not a dev) deleted the chunks that added (and the revert would have deleted) the new files, along with the two conflicting chunks (lib/slideshow.(cpp|h)), and tried that, not even knowing whether gwenview at head would build then, let alone run, but it did. And it indeed did eliminate the problem -- I have my gwenview menus back, on (yesterday's) current gwenview, with the partial revert, of course. Here's that semi-blind hack-around partial revert patch. While I don't expect it to help much in getting a proper fix, it does confirm that commit as the culprit, and lets you see what I did to get a menu on otherwise-current gwenview back. I can test debugging or alternative patches too, if needed. Gwenview rebuilds fast, especially with a hot ccache. =:^) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395925 --- Comment #8 from Duncan <1i5t5.dun...@cox.net> --- (In reply to Henrik Fehlauer from comment #6) > > gwenview would take a long time to startup again > @Duncan: Could you quantify how long regular and slow startup is taking for > you each, i.e. barely noticable, seconds, or minutes? Note that I'm on (btrfs on) ssd, so even cold-cache startups /should/ be fast. Regular startup: Under 1 second. I suspect the kwin slide-in effect is actually delaying the window appearance. (I have gwenview's clear-thumbnails on exit option set, and actually have the thumbnails dir pointed to tmpfs, so from cold-cache it does take a slight bit of time to generate the thumbnails on the start-page's recent-folders tab, but the dir icons themselves show up effectively instantly and the thumbnails on them populate in under 10 seconds, I'd say.) Slow startup: I've not timed it and perception is notoriously unreliable, but the window doesn't show up for long enough I can launch say kpat and start playing a game, before it shows up. Stracing a slow-start it's quite clear there's some sort of timeout (later diagnosed as the menu load timeout) it waits for, as there's the usual rush of multiple pages of output as it reads all the libs/icons/fonts/config/etc, followed by a pause of I'd say at least 30 seconds, perhaps a minute or two (it was long enough I could select some strace output so I could scroll back to it after the window /did/ show to see where things stopped and notice it was menu related, the clue I needed to test and see that the menu button in the titlebar wasn't responsive), while nothing at all is printed, before it resumes printing more pages of output as the window appears and it regenerates thumbnails for the start page. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Spectacle] [Bug 358641] Have Spectacle remember filename
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358641 Albert changed: What|Removed |Added CC||anonis...@yahoo.com --- Comment #7 from Albert --- After many months, I tried spectacle again, and almost everything is on par with ksnapshot, except this particular issue with the filename## The new naming convention Screenshot_%Y%M%D_%H%m%S is a workaround, since (in theory) you will never have a duplicate date/time. However the original idea of having filename+[some number] that auto updates per screenshot doesnt seem to work. The only other thing is the ability to have multiple ksnapshot windows open (for different screenshot abilities that retain their settings) is lost. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 394921] Desktop Display Corrupted
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394921 --- Comment #21 from nroycea+...@gmail.com --- Good to know. I actually just had to use that right now, but for something different and I'm not even sure what bug category to classify it under... I just paused spotify then turned off my audio receiver (via HDMI). I know stuff happens on my PC whenever I turn my receiver on/off. EG. Kodi will come to the foreground. My desktop and system bar all disappeared this time, almost like a crash except there was nothing listed under coredumpctl and journalctl didn't flag anything in red. The only entries at that time were a bunch of: * Jun 28 16:49:46 computername ksmserver[2873]: UnmapNotify: 26275158 Jun 28 16:49:46 computername ksmserver[2873]: Unknown toplevel for MapNotify Jun 28 16:49:46 computername ksmserver[2873]: UnmapNotify: 100663376 * and * Jun 28 16:58:49 computername kwin_x11[2883]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 49621, resource id: 52821, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 * and a bunch of * Jun 28 16:59:11 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: RRScreenChangeNotify Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Subpixel Order: 0 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Connection: "Disconnected" Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Rotation: "Rotate_0" Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Mode: 70 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: CRTC: 64 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Output: 68 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: RRNotify_OutputChange Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: State (newValue, Deleted): 1 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Property: EDIDd Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Output: 68 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: RRNotify_OutputProperty (ignored) Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: State (newValue, Deleted): 1 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Property: EDID Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: Output: 68 Jun 28 16:59:10 computername kscreen_backend_launcher[2865]: kscreen.xcb.helper: RRNotify_OutputProperty (ignored) Jun 28 16:58:50 computername ksmserver[2873]: Grab Released * Hmm, actually those ksmserver UnmapNotify related stuff seems to be peppered throughout my log. Not just at that time. The kscreen_backend_launcher stuff "MAY" be from when I restarted plasmashell. Again, no crash per se... it just disappears. Still no corruption ever since I deleted my configs AGAIN. I'll wait some more days before I start to customize it again and also wait some days in between customization. I'm thinking widgets will come first. Committed on 28/06/2018 at 22:02. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. Show an icon for hidden files in Dolphin Summary: Dolphin uses the `hint` icon for invisible hidden files and the `visibility` icon for shown hidden files. Everything works fine with Breeze icons, but with Oxygen, there is no `visibility` icon. The `hint` icon is symlinked to something appropriate, so this patch just symlinks `visibility` to the its companion icon.
