Could you provide a backtrace please ?

Could you provide me some testcase which crashed kaddressbook ?

I encountered this same bug today on Kmm 5.0.1-1 on Arch Linux. I get "not able
to create all objects the investment" in English when adding via the
investments tab. Thanks to Danny Scott here for the workaround which also works
for me.

Bad bug which should get more priority.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 397438] New: Not Able to Import Data

2018-08-13 Thread Real Name
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397438

Bug ID: 397438
Summary: Not Able to Import Data
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugrep...@sonic.net
CC: to...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I am unable to import data. Program crashes after selecting "Import CSV
Feature" Initially data shows up, but then the program prompts me to select an
address book that the data should be saved in, but doesn't offer a tool for
selecting the address book. I am using version 5.2.3

Is this program in the Debian Backports? In some cases problems like this can
be remedied with backports since STable often only has dated software.

[plasmashell] [Bug 397114] problem switching/cycling windows with clt tab

2018-08-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397114

David, I don't know if you are able to get to this, but after tinkering, I
found this workaround / solution for the time being.

I went to Global Shortcuts / system settings menu / Walk through Windows
Reversed - Global Alternative / and manually set to ALT TAB.

For some reason the global alternative walk through didn't work completely with
alt-tab. Only when I placed it to the walk through windows reverse - set to alt
tab- that I got my windows switching back.

When I did it otherwise, it only switched to 2 windows out of the 3 i had
open...it just kept skipping it.

When I put it to the reverse walkthrough, alt-tab worked for switching through
every window...although, i still don't have a preview like grid, or flipthrough
to cycle through...it just goes to the exact window.

I'm not sure whether or not this will actually help anyone but I am having the
exact same issue as described in the original report in that a presumably stuck
refresh of comics causes high cpu usage by plasmashell.

I have one new note to make thanks to the fact I am usually offline. The
problem will only occur when there is an internet connection. I am always
connected to a lan without any dns and the problem does not arise until I
connect to web via second network.

For a different bug, I just created a new kmy file, with one checking account
with $100 opening balance. On the home page, the Net Worth Foredast graph
shows several months of date (x axis) on one line, with the graph title
overlaid on the same line, all at the top of the graph, and also overlaid with
what looks like some part of the Y axis. I'll attach a screenshot. It looks
like perhaps an odd formatting issue if there is no data in the graph, or
perhaps no change in Y value for the entire graph.

You need to actually *log in* using the root user. You can't elevate your

Regardless, that's unrelated to this bug, which tracks PolicyKit integration
(which I think really is coming along quite soon...)

This is still a valid bug/wish for KDE/Plasma 5. A notification of the sort
'Logging out, please wait …' is useful for new users IMO, so that they know the
system is responding. My system, for instance, will take 30-60 sec from
choosing 'Log out' until the user selection screen is shown.

[valgrind] [Bug 397424] glibc 2.27 and gdb_server tests

2018-08-13 Thread Philippe Waroquiers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397424

filter_gdb already contains some sed expressions to canononicalise
select syscalls e.g.
...
-e 's/in select ()$/in syscall .../'
  \
-e 's/in \.__select ()$/in syscall .../'
  \
-e 's/in select () at \.\.\/sysdeps\/unix\/syscall-template\.S.*$/in
syscall .../'\
...

Isn't there a way to use or extend this technique instead of adding a new
filter_select ?

[krita] [Bug 397432] New: OVERVIEW LAG

2018-08-13 Thread thiago
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397432

Bug ID: 397432
   Summary: OVERVIEW LAG
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Instant Preview
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tigs.a...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Overview docker has a significant lag to update. About 2 seconds on a picture
1600 x 1200 pixels. I'm not having other performance issues in Krita. This
happens while changing layer visibility or on brush strokes. While painting
sometimes I have to toggle visibility several times to check if the changes
look good so it bothers a little.
I tried to send the performance log but couldn`t find it.

The Similarity database is now independent. Check the default settings in the
digiKam settings under Databases. The Similarity database can be created within
the core database (like all other thumbnail or face databases).

And I think https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397204 might be related too.
Possibly the dock/panel switch might be involved after all.

Now that I think about it, the bug appeared when I first selected the Panel
type. Before that I think nothing was selected (neither dock nor panel).

2018-08-13 Thread Don
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397431

Bug ID: 397431
Summary: Background: Enabling blur OR setting background size
to 100% removes transparency
   Product: latte-dock
   Version: 0.8.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: k...@mailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

I have a top panel which I like to have transparent and blurred while no window
is maximized. While this worked nicely until recently some update must have
changed something (sorry for being so unspecific but I just don't really know).

Now when I enable blur and have the background size set to 100, the background
will always be just plain black although transparency is at 70.

Now I can either disable blur or decrease the background below 100 and the
panel will be transparent again. I can also do both but neither is an agreeable
setting for me. And I also noted that the type will change automatically
between dock and panel depending on the background size but I am not sure
whether this is related.

[krita] [Bug 397423] Add build option to change default ICC profiles path

2018-08-13 Thread Peter Eszlari
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397423

Actually, I'm not certain what the original reporter's problem is. When I go to

"Settings > Configure Krita > Color Management > Display > Add new color
profile"

in a freshly installed Krita (no configs) running under flatpak, the file
dialog opens in "/usr/share/color/icc" (host), as one would expect.

(The flatpak of Krita has the option --filesystem=host set, so it gets the same
read/write access to the host, like a regular user.)

But if you opened another file (e.g. regular picture) before, the last location
is remembered and maybe the problem is, that user might have trouble finding
the location of the color profiles. So the solution might be to always open
that path in there color management settings, instead of the last location.

Hello, I also have this issue and I have to resize and reposition 9 widgets.
We need to have several solutions for this.
One would be backup/restore of widgets configuration. This would help restoring
after a reinstall.
Also, restoring after 3D windowless layer/application fullscreen should be
known and should be able to restore the widgets layout. I see a way,
resolution-related widgets configuration. I know it is a possibility to have a
big config, as effect, also some things changed between resolutions changes,
but should solve decently the majority of situations. It is possible to know
when the widgets are resized by the user or by resolution change also.

Hm... This does show a real problem, but I'm not sure where we have a sig/slot
connection in different threads:

QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to QWidget "", which already has a layout
QMetaObject::indexOfSignal: signal selectionChanged() from

QMetaObject::indexOfSignal: signal selectionChanged() from

However... _Why_ is Qt built with asserts enabled? That shouldn't be done in
release builds, should it?

Ah, that's what I thought. But all of this is dynamic in Krita, and depends on
the the values of the XDG variables. If XDG_DATA_DIRS includes /run/host/usr
then the profiles will be found, so we actually only need a way to set that
before starting Krita. Does flatpak support that?

I guess we can just add that to our list of places where we look. It feels a
bit like a kludge, though.

Did you take into account the update interval of top and ksysguard ?
The values are pretty much(as far as I can match them visually) same if we set
the update interval same on both.

Tip:To change update interval in top press 's' or 'd'.

In fact the reason about the SSL dysfunction and AppImage is due to missing
libssl.so in the bundle. See the crash with the 6.0.0 pre release :

Qt5Network from the bundle try to open ssl lib but it cannot and fallback to
the system wide version and crash due to binary compatibility issue.

Making a symbolic link in the bundle from libssl.so.10 (the version used to
build the AppImage under Centos6) and libssl.so solve the problem.

[kwin] [Bug 397426] New: kwin crash when desktop swtich OSD is turned on

2018-08-13 Thread imad
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397426

Bug ID: 397426
Summary: kwin crash when desktop swtich OSD is turned on
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: imadudd...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kwin_x11 (5.13.4)

Qt Version: 5.11.1
Frameworks Version: 5.48.0
Operating System: Linux 4.14.62-1-lts x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Archlinux Packages

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Set number of virtual desktops > 1 (currently 2). Turn on desktop switch
on-screen display in system settings. Disable transition effects when
switching desktop.
Now press the keyboard shortcut to switch desktops repeatedly a few times.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
kwin crashes. Only window in foreground responds to mouse/kb input. Keyboard
shortcuts related to window/desktop management stop working. Need to run
'kwin_x11 --replace' to get a working gui again.

- Custom settings of the application:

+ Compositor is enabled
+ Desktop switch OSD is turned on in settings
+ Using Nvidia propreitary drivers

The crash can be reproduced every time.

example on-exit terminal output with the "AlwaysEnable" patch

I saw that setting AlwaysEnabled also makes a plugin "ununloadable" ... but
apparently it doesn't make a difference here. Those early returns thanks to my
patch would be space heater hangs otherwise.

This output is reproducible (details may vary though), and occurs whether or
not ilanguage plugins are made AlwaysEnabled.

The session contains projects for ECM, kwidgetsaddons, kwindowsystem, KIO and
qqc2-desktop-style, but only has .cpp, .h and CMake files open.

Conditions:
DK 6 beta git rev d3dc7d3b8d482f3fd60c9797957dcca940b90f7f
Arch Aur system, Mysql db
Some bugs:
1) Each time I want to find duplicates, DK ask updating fingerprints, even if
nothing changes.
2) Normally, DK has to scan 2 main directories/collections, 1 and 2.
After updating fingerprints it doesnt find in subfolders in directory 2 they
are not displayed.
Same bug after using "maintenance" tool to update fingerprints

glibc2-27 & gdbserver problem

In version 2.27 of glibc is added file sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/select.c, which
contains wrapper for select sys-call, so some tests (mcinfcallWSRU, nlcontrolc,
nlvgdbsigqueue; all from gdb_server group of tests) have different output from
excepted.
Also, output of glibc is different among architectures.
I suggest following patch, which introduce more restrictive filter.

When running Krita under flatpak, the standard ICC profiles path

Gimp solved this by adding a compile time option for specifying this path:

Git commit f1452472b9448acad20665eabfe75813c5e4af44 by Dmitry Kazakov.
Committed on 13/08/2018 at 15:21.

Add a workaround for loading broken files with negative frame ids

Summary: CCBUG:395378

Test Plan:
Try to load the file attached to this bugreport:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395378

Every layer in the file should have two frames (in random order). At least one
of the frames should have sane pixel data

No guarantees I'll get around to that the next 2 weeks (and even less so that
I'd get the issue during that time!)

BTW, how is this supposed to help if the issue is caused by unloading plugins
too early? Doesn't that mean they were loaded at some point, regardless whether
AlwaysEnabled was set or not?
(If anything I could imagine that loading more plugins only increases the
chance that some plugin is unloaded with outstanding references to it?!)

This returns the position of the layer: that is the offset in the image stack,
not the topleft of the bounds around the visible pixels. The position only
changes if you move the layer.

It depends on compositor/ environment, may be...For me, Wayland works better,
quicker, than X, with some minor bugs, on my Enlightenment (git) graphic

This is crashing/hanging inside a library provided by nvidia. You'll likely
have to contact them for support to resolve this.

[plasmashell] [Bug 397082] The new media player icons rely on the icon theme instead of the desktop theme

2018-08-13 Thread Filip
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397082

To sum this up, from what I understand the squared icons people are seeing are
fallback icons that have been added to the Breeze icon theme. If someone is
using an icon theme which does not have these fallback icons (most likely
pretty much any non-Breeze icon theme), then they will have no icon for the
media applet.

Now as for the various desktop themes and the state they're in, here's what I
get when I try them out:

Manjaro specific desktop themes: Andromeda, Maia, Breath = all broken

Trendy desktop themes: Adapta, Arc and Materia = all fixed
- note: patch your Arch/Manjaro community package (arc-kde) theme with the
media.svg icon from Github.

Legacy desktop themes: I expected them to be broken, but both Slim Glow and
Oxygen seem to fall back to Breeze desktop theme's icon... which looks a bit of
place, however.

So the bottom line is: know which themes have been updated and make sure you
have the latest versions of said themes. If it's not showing up right, then
cleaning the cache and/or wiping custom theme installs in System Settings
should help.
