How I sorted it was by closing Skrooge and reopening.
Im still having problems with the visibility of checked items the checkmark

ok... fixed, background contrast kwin effect was activated at cases that it

Not sure what you mean. When I look at the 18.08 release on kde.org, it has
kdepim-addons 18.08. But when I look in the apt repo at the address posted,
