[plasmashell] [Bug 393630] System tray icons not clickable and collapsible when an entry's visibility is changed to hidden

2018-11-06 Thread Michael Kaiser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393630

No icons are hidden here so there's no system tray down button.
When it happens some of the icons work permanently (remmina, telegram) others
very occasionally but mostly never (network, clipboard, sound, kconnect,
devices, printer, monitor settings). Instead I'm getting the empty "system &
notifications" 'popdown'.
And the keepassxc icon isn't shown anymore.

Running Solus Plasma 3. with KDE 5.14.2 on 5.51.0 framework and qt 5.11.2

Thanks to Robert Griffiths for the temp. workaround!

to test this, but it seems that new accounts only support authentication via
SMS, which Kopete does not support and the user is not allowed to set a

Note : one root album collection = one trash, not one album = one trash.

Why one trash by collection ? In fact, the trash is located at the same

same place and move with it.

This is, as you say quite normal, which is why memory that is still reachable
at exit is not reported as a leak.

Only memory that is no longer reachable is reported by default, which
effectively does what you want I think.

If you have explicitly asked for it then valgrind will report every block that
is still allocated.

[kmail2] [Bug 400785] New: GPG Group Support not working any more

2018-11-06 Thread Stephan Mueller
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400785

Bug ID: 400785
Summary: GPG Group Support not working any more
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: crypto
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: smuel...@chronox.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Starting with kmail shipped with 18.04 and still present in kmail whipped with
18.08, the GPG group support does not work any more.

I.e. when creating an Addressbook entry and assign multiple GPG keys to it,
kmail used to encrypt the emails to all of those GPG keys before submission.

This does not work any more. Instead, kmail states that it cannot find the key
for the given email address as in my case that email address is a mail-exploder
email address without its own GPG key.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have an email address without a GPG key
2. Create an addressbook entry for this email address and assign GPG keys to it
in the addressbook
3. compose an email with kmail and encrypt it to that email address

OBSERVED RESULT
kmail does not know the recipient key and asks for it.

EXPECTED RESULT
kmail should automatically select all GPG keys configured in kaddressbook.

As the last maintainer of Palapeli, I think it is premature to close this bug
and others like it. I believe that they share the same underlying cause and I
see nothing in the commit history
https://phabricator.kde.org/source/palapeli/history/master/ to suggest that the
bugs have been fixed since September 2017. They were certainly active then and
resisted efforts by Christian Ehrlicher and myself to nail them down. They are
highly intermittent and non-reproducible. See the kde-games-devel archive at

https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-games-devel/2017-September/thread.html

for discussions of the issues. Back then I did try Christian's idea of
extending the animation time for the "merge pieces" action, but still failed to
reproduce the problem as it occurs during normal game-play. Unfortunately I am
unable to try the KF5 and Qt5 version of Palapeli.

That said, the bugs are very annoying but fairly harmless when they cause
Palapeli to crash, because Palapeli saves the puzzle state every 2 seconds and
the user gets a fairly "hot" recovery when he/she re-runs Palapeli. Crashes
occur intermittently around once per hour on large puzzles.

Other bugs that I believe are related to this one (bug 312267) are bug 31194,
bug 303059 and bug 336075. Christian resolved the last of those in Sept 2017
(D7637), see

https://phabricator.kde.org/R423:39cf28839784a4daca127ca4032e55239732def4

The most commonly occurring crashes are represented by 31194 and 303059.

I wish to contribute with a ShellCheck Linter

Shellcheck: https://github.com/koalaman/shellcheck/blob/master/README.md

What's the best way to do this? Is a new plugin needed, or is it there
already a Linter plugin where I can add the Shellcheck support?

u/aKateDev in Reddit provided with this help so far:

> All plugins are located here: https://github.com/KDE/kate/tree/master/addons
> Maybe of interest is the projects plugin, since it already has linters:

But I'm still not sure the best way to go with this.

We can really make use of some experiences kate developer dropping us
down some high level guidelines on how this feature should be
implemented, and if we should base our solution on some existing code.

Best Regards.

Bug ID: 400782
Summary: Option to ignore leaks immediately preceding program

   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.12 SVN
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: memcheck
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: andrew.penneba...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Some C/C++ developers use the convention of not bothering to free memory at the
point where an application will immediately terminate, either by invoking
exit(), or returning an integer value from the main() CLI entrypoint. This
convention has the benefit of finishing the application a little more quickly,
and also uses less code.

Could leak checks provide an option to ignore this situation? Leaks are mainly
a problem for long-running programs, especially loops, not where program
termination is imminent.

Wow, this is an old bug!

I can't comment any further on the bug as I gave up using Baskets some time
after my comments and migrated all my data to Zim Desktop Wiki.

Cheers,

I know WinSxS is full of hard links, and NTFS junctions
Maybe run
cd /run/media/filip/System/Windows/WinSxS
find > ~/TargetList.txt
cd /home/filip/Testing/WinSxs
find > ~/DestinationList.txt

and attach the two files that will then be in your $HOME?

[kdeconnect] [Bug 400780] New: Browsing the Android filesystem from

2018-11-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400780

Bug ID: 400780
Summary: Browsing the Android filesystem from
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 1.10
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: ifsare...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Did a clean install of Kubuntu today. I could access my phone's files through
Kde Connect just fine until I updated the Android app through Play Store to
v1.10. After the update process, I could not explore "All Files" on my phone
through Dolphin, despite reinstalling the app and rebooting the phone and the
PC. The issue persisted until I compiled the 1.8.4.1 version of the Android app
and installed it on my phone.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Do a clean install of Kubuntu 18.10
2. Install the 1.10 version of the Android app from the Play Store
3. Attempt to access "All Files" on your phone through the desktop widget

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin doesn't display any files and spits out an error message whose exact
wording escapes me but it was something about location not found, I think.

echo $QT_PLUGIN_PATH showed an empty line.
/usr/lib/qt5/plugins/kcms/kcm_energyinfo.so appeared to be the kcm_energyinfo
plugin referred to by the first error. I ran export
QT_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib/qt5/plugins:/usr/lib/qt5/plugins/kcms:/usr/bin followed
by kinfocenter & in konsole but the Energy Consumption Statistics panel was
still blank with the same error messages.

/usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_energyinfo/contents/ui/main.qml:459 is
var value = currentBattery[modelData.value]
My computer is a desktop without a battery so that might be why
currentBattery was null.

/usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_energyinfo/contents/ui/Graph.qml:64 is
var scaledX = (plot.x - xMin) * plotWidth / (xMax-xMin); in

function scalePoint(plot) {
var scaledX = (plot.x - xMin) * plotWidth / (xMax-xMin);
var scaledY = (plot.y - yMin)  * plotHeight / (yMax-yMin);

return Qt.point(xPadding + scaledX,
height - yPadding - scaledY);
}

The plot variable might have been undefined due to currentBattery at
/usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_energyinfo/contents/ui/main.qml:459 being null
leading to plot.x being undefined. I'm not familiar with this program so I'm
just guessing about the reasons the panel wasn't shown. The missing panel and
errors occurred each of a few times I tried the steps described. I can provide
more information.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start kinfocenter on a computer without a battery
2. Click Energy Information
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Energy Information panel was blank.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Energy Information panel is shown.

[digikam] [Bug 400777] New: [patch] Group images by timelapse / burst

2018-11-06 Thread Krzysztof Kapusta
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400777

Bug ID: 400777
Summary: [patch] Group images by timelapse / burst
   Product: digikam
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-Group
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 116139
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=116139&action=edit
Patch implementing this functionality

SUMMARY

Provide functionality to group images together when they were part of the same
timelapse or burst. This will be especially usefull when timelapse photos are
mixed with single-shots, or when importing from a sports camera like Gopro.

Photos from the same timelapse are assumed to have an increasing number in
their filename (IMG0001.jpg, IMG2.jpg and so on). They will be also taken
with the same time interval between each other (ex. every 30 seconds or so).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Compile with the patch provided
2. Import some files that belong to a timelapse.
3. Select imported files (and more possibly) and use the context menu to select
Group->Group By Timelapse / Burst

EXPECTED RESULT
Images belonging to the same timelapse should be grouped together. The
selection process should be smart enough to distinguish several different
timelapses from each other as well as ignore single-shot photos in between.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
All

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All suggestions are welcome :) I'm wondering whether the minimum acceptable
number of photos in a series should be configurable in the GUI. The patch
assumes 3.

Picture of Dialog

SUMMARY

When opening auto-save file, Krita asks that will you open auto-save instead.
And three buttons are "Yes,No,Cancel"
When choosing No, Krita discards auto-save file.
Users don't know about that or Krita warns them about that.

Wishlist

-A warning text that tells that choosing "No" will discard auto-save file
-Change button name "No" to "Discard" so it 'll be "Yes,Discard,Cancel"
because meaning of "No" for me is I don't want to open auto-save file. But what
it does is discarding file it should be named something else

Kmail log & filter listings

SUMMARY

Kmail filters sometimes appear to be either not actioned at all or only partly
so. I think I've discovered this occurs if Kmail2 is started during the normal
power-up process but not if it's started manually when the system is running,
however the problem doesn't always appear.

I've attached a file containing filter-log output which demonstrates the
problem and a filter-listing.

This may be related to the following bug reports: 378231, 384943, 118213.

I've also noticed another issue which isn't important but may be related. When
Kmail is started automatically during power-up, the download progress-bar is
frequently displayed immediately at 0% even though no download should be
happening (Retrieval Options > Check mail on startup is off), and checking mail
doesn't appear to work. Restarting Kmail then clears the problem.

The software versions are Kmail2 V5.5.2 running on OpenSuSE Leap 42.3, with all
updates applied.

Regards,
David Lochrin

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. See above, but problem is intermittent.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Filters are not actioned, or not completely actioned.

EXPECTED RESULT
Filters should always be actioned when "Check Mail" is clicked and mail is
downloaded.

Like Duncan, I play Forty and Eight a lot... :-) ...and get this same bug.

FWIW the solver sometimes also gives false positives re winning. I think this
happens when its "winning" sequence includes an illegal move. I can overcome
that by using Undo and then one or two moves of Demo to get past the illegal
move and go on to win... ;-) i.e. Demo permits the same illegal move as solver.

IIRC the illegal move is to move two cards that are not consecutive, although
(I seem to remember) the two cards are in the same suit.

I doubt now if I shall ever get around to having a go at fixing these bugs, but
if you are interested, Parker, I could try and capture more details next time
it happens. It's nice to see you around again... :-)

When Konqueror engine is set to "KHTML", this is still reproducible (unless you
edit the config file by hand).

When Konqueror engine is set to "WebEngine", this is not reproducible. This
sounds reasonable as it's hard to integrate DNS prefetch into QWebEngine.

" I'm constantly using all my open apps" Of course you use it but can you watch
at every opened task in the bar ?

Depending on your template, the asking task highlighting might be nearly
invisible. I use "Breeze light" desktop theme and I have to put my nose on the
task bar to see whitch one is highlighted.

[digikam] [Bug 400768] New: Many different trash cans hard & slow to use

2018-11-06 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400768

Bug ID: 400768
Summary: Many different trash cans hard & slow to use
   Product: digikam
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-Trash
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: d...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Trash can hub?

Separate trash can on every album is hard & slow in a way that browsing tons of
folders in the side panel to reach trash can is not the most convenient - and
it's slow.

I suggest some kind of trash can hub. Perhaps a link to a "folder" that has
links to all trash cans of the folders?

Or a 1-does-it-all button to empty all trash cans.

Perhaps most I'd like to see trash cans all in links in a top bar (of a folder)
and clicking those different trash cans would open up the clicked trash can to
rest of the view - keeping the top banner links of other trash cabs visible.

Tabbed trash can hub?

[konqueror] [Bug 206739] Printer settings forgotten between print operations

2018-11-06 Thread Jammer

Jammer changed:

KDE 4.14.32 on Slackware: There is no change to reported behaviour.
I think this is just the accepted way the print dialogue operates.

Almost a decade on, and no other people have reported problems with it working
this way so maybe I'm an outlier. Either way, there doesn't seem to be much
reason to change the current operation so perhaps this is "not a bug" and can
simply be closed.

Dear Andrew,
Due to the way the latest Konqueror version has turned, it was a major
disapointment so I dropped completely Konqueror in favor of Falkon. So I am not
able to confirm the status with latest version.
As it seems I was the only person concerned, I propose to drop this issue. I
could not find a suitable status for this so I let you choose the most
appropriate one?
Regards,
Christophe.
