[rust-qt-binding-generator] [Bug 400994] New: build tools not detected by cargo install on Fedora Rawhide

2018-11-12 Thread Jos van den Oever
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400994

Bug ID: 400994
Summary: build tools not detected by cargo install on Fedora
Rawhide
   Product: rust-qt-binding-generator
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: j...@vandenoever.info
  Reporter: j...@vandenoever.info
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Run `cargo install qrep`. This will download rust-qt-binding-generator for
`build.rs`. On Fedora rawhide, Qt binaries are called differently.

moc is called moc-qt5
rcc is called rcc-qt5

build.rs in rust-qt-binding-generator should check for these more specific
names first and only then try moc and rcc.

seemingly the current master/tree version works.

I removed the .qml manually and put the master version in its place.

relogin, verified Alt-F2 does nothing without the .qml , then copyied the right
.qml, and the down-arrow was back like it should be.

6 changes were made, maybe some intermediate version is not well.

this one works:

https://cgit.kde.org/plasma-workspace.git/plain/lookandfeel/contents/runcommand/RunCommand.qml?id=8227e4e2b7f034166cbf5efb01e4e715028b4606

save in raw mode to /usr/ to have the arrow back in place.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400990

Bug ID: 400990
Summary: Data loss due to an unsuccessful folder move task
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: mila...@eclipso.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Data loss due to an unsuccessful folder move task.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Delete a folder (e.g. ~/.kde)
2. Open Trash within Dolphin
3. Drag & Drop the deleted folder to the Folder Desktop > Select Move

OBSERVED RESULT
Data loss. There's a message that the copy was not successful, but the old
folder is no longer visible in trash (however .kde was exisiting in ~/Desktop).

EXPECTED RESULT
No data loss. If a folder move is not successful, the old folder shouldn't be
deleted & there should be no folder at the target location.

The .desktop file for Spectacle doesn't have a "Keywords" entry. It would

[plasmashell] [Bug 400987] New: XWayland application focus breaks

2018-11-12 Thread Brian
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400987

Bug ID: 400987
   Summary: XWayland application focus breaks
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic-wayland
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: brianabe...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

>From time to time within applications using XWayland, the window focus will
break and it will be impossible to interact with the window anymore. This often
occurs when you right click within the application or when you minimize the
application and then restore it later. (When this problem occurs it also seems
to cause current, or later right clicks to not register, requiring to you
either logout, or try to minimize/restore the window a couple times until it
decides to start working again)

This problem occurs even if you don't have a second monitor, however it seems
to effect secondary monitors more so.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run a xwayland application (Firefox, Chromium, Spotify, Discord,
Thunderbird)
2. Minimize it to the task bar, Restore it
3. If it doesn't loose focus, do it a few more times. You can also try right
clicking, especially within Firefox (v63) (The behavior is seemingly random)

OBSERVED RESULT

Windows will no longer detect input you give them, but are still seemingly
focused in regards to the window Titlebar.

EXPECTED RESULT

Right clicks register and display their menus, Text is detected, Mouse clicks
are recorded at all times.

Fresh examples:

The guy at 5 to 12 should wear glasses, but instead his hole face is covered in
black

exaggerated line width of buttons and outer silhouette of TV

outer edge has no 3D, only a few solid colors

missing 3D highlight on belly and darker shade of brown in Acorn-cap

Haven't seen wrong aspect ratio so far. But sometimes gwenview will create
correct thumbnail and cannot display the full image. Also overwriting the same
file multiple times in incscape and reloading it in gwenview might crash the
later.

This is with:
Gwenview 17.12.3
KDE Frameworks 5.44.0
Qt 5.9.5 (kompiliert gegen 5.9.5)

PS: Example from bug 336436 is also still broken: no text and graphs leave
bounding box to the right

SUMMARY
Since yesterday I can no longer browse files on my device (Samsung S6 Active)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Browse Device via KDE Connect plasmoid
2. Folder opens with two sub-folders, "All files" and "Camera pictures"
3. Clicking on either folder results in a "does not exist" message

OBSERVED RESULT
The file or folder

Accessing /run/user/1001/6a2c2a9ed051c297/ in a terminal shows it as empty.

I have tried rebooting both the computer and the device, deleting config files,
unpairing and pairing the device to no avail.
I can ping the computer and the device from the computer. I can send files
from the device to the computer. I can use the device as a remote and to
control Amarok, etc. I have all functions except I cannot browse for files
since yesterday.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to browse folders and files on the device as normal.

When I open the Review Panel, the Tool will automatically switch to the Browse
Tool. When the Review Panel is open and I select another Tool, the Review Panel
is automatically being closed.
However, I sometimes want to simultaneously take notes but also copy some
quotes to a text file on my screen and it is annoying that I always have to
switch between Text Selection mode and Review mode.
I suppose it would be possible to combine them, i. e. to allow the selection of
any Tool when the Review Panel is open. Thanks for your consideration!

This is, basically, an RFE to enhance the testing. You'd need to update docs to
specify that when a utility fails it does not exit with a status of 0. If that
is now done, then kmixctrl must have been fixed. If that is not done with the
release of new utilities, then kmixctrl may or may not have been fixed and you
would not know.

So, this is a bug report against testing documentation.

   Summary: org.kde.plasma.mediacontroller QML loading errors
breaking media controller
   Product: plasma-mediacenter
   Version: git master

Media controls widget crash

SUMMARY

This morning after updating to the latest packages in KDE Neon Git Unstable (In
both xorg and wayland), i noticed the media controls were broken when i opened
a media player (in my case Spotify from flatpak). The media controller shows a
monitor icon in place of the usual icon, with crash information which displays
in the widget once you open it.

I'm sorry if this isn't the proper place for this bug, I've never reported one
before, and I'm hoping i selected the right component. I'm also not sure if i
should report Git unstable bugs here?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a media player
2. Click media player widget (which looks like a monitor now)
3. Observe red error icon with error list

OBSERVED RESULT

Monitor icon pops up in the task bar and on click it displays
errors in place of the media controls.

EXPECTED RESULT

Media controls to pop up in the widget & Keyboard media shortcuts to work

Committed on 12/11/2018 at 20:55.
Pushed by ltoscano into branch 'master'.

Revert "Rename src/customization/xsl/pt_br.xml to pt-BR.xml"

This is not the right fix: this file should have the same
name as the original file from docbook-xsl.

If the fix had been easier, it would have been fixed already.

[zanshin] [Bug 400982] New: Do not add spurious newline to task DESCRIPTION, but differentiate SUMMARY in unified text box

2018-11-12 Thread Erik Quaeghebeur
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400982

Bug ID: 400982
Summary: Do not add spurious newline to task DESCRIPTION, but
differentiate SUMMARY in unified text box
   Product: zanshin
   Version: 0.5.0
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: er...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@equaeghe.nospammail.net
CC: mbe...@ipsquad.net
  Target Milestone: already done

In vtodos Zanshin's task description is decomposed into a SUMMARY and a
DESCRIPTION. Because zanshin itself does not explicitly differentiate between
these concepts, when adding a task to Zanshin, I separate with a white line the
SUMMARY and DESCRIPTION (that looks better visually). However, then a '\n' is
inserted in the vtodo item at the start of the DESCRIPTION field. It should not
be there. It can be easily stripped, I guess.

I am talking here about vtodos, because that is my use case, but this report is
equally valid for interoperability with Kontact's task manager, which is
heavily inspired by vtodo functionality. There, in the DESCRIPTION field also a
spurious blank line is added.

In Zanshin itself the first line of the unified SUMMAR+DESCRIPTION box is used
as a SUMMARY/Title for purposes of listing the task in the task list. So
perhaps this first line should also be differentiated in the unified text box,
e.g., by italicizing it, or adding some whitespace or a line below it, or yet
something else.

SUMMARY

The tool tip over the "Test" button says that it should test the selected

ignore the selected device and always plays the test sound to the default one.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open System Settings - Hardware - Audio and Video - Device Preference
2. Click "Test", the test sound plays through the default (initially selected)
device
(on my system, "HDA ATI SB, ALC888 Analog Default Device).
3. Select another device (on my system, "HDA NVidia, HDMI 1 HDMI Audio Output")
4. Click "Test" again, the sound again plays through the default device. No
sound is heard
   over HDMI.

OBSERVED RESULT

Test sound is always played through the default device.

EXPECTED RESULT

Test sound should be played through the selected device.

Yes, this still occurs with K3b 17.12.3.

Simplest example: Using
  @a{test}
as a file pattern will work (naming all files "test.ogg"), while
  @A{test}
won't expand and name all files "@A{test}.ogg". This bug is especially annoying
as even some of the examples from the pop up dialog won't work.

Ok then, you'll have to fix this using the translation scripting capabilities
of ki18n. The code itself can't be fixed since basically no localization
framework accounts for having different strings for numbers with decimals.

The problem is that i can't really find documentation for it, though i'm almost
sure it did exist at some point. Please email Chusslove about it.

[extra-cmake-modules] [Bug 400976] New: Fatal error: assert.h: No such file or directory with Android.cmake as toolchain

2018-11-12 Thread NSLW
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400976

Bug ID: 400976
Summary: Fatal error: assert.h: No such file or directory with
Android.cmake as toolchain
   Product: extra-cmake-modules
   Version: 5.51.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: testcase
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: AndroidToolchain

Simple Android app

SUMMARY
Building x86 Android app (see attachment) with the use of
/usr/share/ECM/toolchain/Android.cmake causes fatal error about not finding
"assert.h". Building without this toolchain allows to compile the app
successfully.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. unpack testcase.tar.xz
2. adjust paths to java, qt, and android's ndk, and sdk in setupScript.sh
3. run setupScript.sh to compile simple Android app

OBSERVED RESULT
Compiler reports that it cannot find "assert.h" (see attachment)

EXPECTED RESULT
Compiler should compile the app without errors.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.13.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.48.0 (but ECM is 5.51.0)
Qt Version: 5.11.1 (but I've installed precompiled Android's Qt x86 5.11.2 from
qt-unified-linux-x64-3.0.5-online.run)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Remove
-DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE=/usr/share/ECM/toolchain/Android.cmake\
from setupScript.sh to compile successfully.

[RFC PATCH] configure.ac: disable gcc march mips64r2 detection

Cross-compiling valgrind using Buildroot for mips64 fails with (see [1], [2]
for details):

error: '-mips64r2' conflicts with the other architecture options, which
specify a mips64 processor

Disabling the gcc march mips64r2 detection in configure.ac and simple
using the provided compile flags (e.g. set by buildroot) avoids double settings
like '-march=mips64 ... -march=mips64r2 -mabi=64' (see attached RFC patch).

'Fix' only compile tested (not run time tested)...

SUMMARY
src/customization/xsl/pt_br.xml is wrongly named. During compilation of many
applications, e.g. Kompare, it fails to load with following warnings:
[ 23%] Generating po/pt_BR/docs/kompare/index.cache.bz2
I/O warning : failed to load external entity
"/usr/share/kf5/kdoctools/customization/xsl/pt-BR.xml"
No "pt_br" localization of "footer-doc-comment" exists; using "en".
No "pt_br" localization of "footer-doc-feedback" exists; using "en".
…

When file renamed to pt-BR.xml, translated text it contains is used in
documentation.

[ksysguard] [Bug 400499] ksysguard crashed when closing

2018-11-12 Thread Matt Fagnani

Created attachment 116263
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=116263=edit
New crash information added by DrKonqi

ksysguard (5.14.3) using Qt 5.11.1

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I closed ksysguard and drkonqi started. This crash occurred with ksysguard and
Plasma 5.14.3, KF5 5.52.0, Qt 5.11.1 in Fedora 29.

The crashes might be due to a race condition where two parts of the program(s)
involved tried to free the same memory since this crash occurred <10% of times
I've shut down ksysguard recently and some of the previous ksysguard crashes
I've seen had similar traces with a segmentation fault in
QLabelPrivate::clearContents at widgets/qlabel.cpp:1302 which was delete
picture; as I reported at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350140#c16

This crash was due to a segmentation fault at QLabelPrivate::clearContents() at
widgets/qlabel.cpp:1309 which appears to be delete pixmap; at
https://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qtbase.git/tree/src/widgets/widgets/qlabel.cpp

[plasmashell] [Bug 400680] plasma shell randomly crashes while using openGL apps

right. and nvidia is going to say "its something in plasmashell that makes the
driver crash, nothing we can do."

and the obvious solution would be to COOPERATE, to find out what is crashing
the driver, and why, and fix it.

Oh, I see now. Our ebuild has the following:

> # We don't build kolab, so we can disable this
> punt_bogus_dep KF5 KDELibs4Support

That's why the the build issues are unmasked.

[plasmashell] [Bug 400971] New: Widget font sometimes disappears after suspend

2018-11-12 Thread Richard Knausenberger
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=400971

Bug ID: 400971
Summary: Widget font sometimes disappears after suspend
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: liem...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

After suspending, sometimes the fonts of the desktop widgets disappears. So
there is still the widget, but without any font. The clock in the panel has the
same problem, but much rarer.

I am using Kubuntu 18.04 with Plasma 5.12, but I had the same problem in
previous versions.

Hi Andrew,

WoW, it has been 4 years already;D

I haven't experienced this error for a long time. Currently I'm using kde5

cat /usr/lib/os-release
NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed"
# VERSION="20181012"
ID="opensuse-tumbleweed"
ID_LIKE="opensuse suse"
VERSION_ID="20181012"
PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Tumbleweed"
ANSI_COLOR="0;32"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:opensuse:tumbleweed:20181012"
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.opensuse.org;
HOME_URL="https://www.opensuse.org/;

plasmashell -v
plasmashell 5.14.0

kf5-config -v
Qt: 5.11.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.50.0
kf5-config: 1.0

Probably you expect from me to test it on kde4, right? Because of the age of
the bug maybe it would be better to close it? And if someone else will have
similar problem then create a new bug report?

Regards

it seems that knotes isn't anymore present on kde plasma 5.14.2
I found only the widget "notes" that is very primitive and hasn't any activity
setting
