[krusader] [Bug 403081] Unknown error condition in stat: File exists

2019-01-12 Thread Kip Glunt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403081

The reported bug was in error! Seems the problem was not with Krusader but the
Windows 7 computer I was communicating with. A bad Windows update earlier the
same day caused the problem. Restoring the Windows computer, removing te
update, resolved the problem.

Sorry if this report caused any problems.

To clarify, e.g. my Asus Transformer boot into Neon just fine with just the
bootia32.efi file added. However, I do get an error about missing files from
/boot/grub/i386-efi folder during boot, so one might want to include those as
well.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403163

Bug ID: 403163
Summary: Neon live install image is lacking the 32-bit EFI boot
file bootia32.efi
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

1. Take a computer using 32-bit EFI boot (such as the Asus Transformer, or
Lenovo Ideacentre Stick)
2. Insert a current Neon live image USB
3. Attempt to boot

OBSERVED RESULT
The machine fails to boot from the USB & boots into Windows

EXPECTED RESULT
The machine should be able to boot from the USB

For what it's worth, both kmymoney-5.0 and kmymoney master builds fine on f28
for me (master required building libalkimia master from source as it's not
released or packaged yet).

I do not use qtchooser, so it's possible that may be to blame here somehow.

2019-01-12 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 403162

   Product: gwenview
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@caseyconnor.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When using left/right arrow keys to move through a large directory of images,
there is a disturbing flicker between each image being displayed (perhaps due
to disk access and/or some other aspect of rendering the image to the screen.)

It would be very nice if gwenview would wait to overwrite the screen until the
new image is ready to be rendered, so the switch from one image to the next was
instantaneous and flicker-free.

Also nice: if gwenview could pre-buffer the next image whenever possible
(whatever would be reached by the next right-arrow keystroke) so there was
minimal delay when/if the key was pressed. If the user was last using the
left-arrow to change images, gwenview could pre-buffer the previous image
instead, etc.

(I'm on 18.04.3, apologies if any of this has already been done.)

Thanks for considering it!

[kmymoney] [Bug 401927] Unable to add new investment

2019-01-12 Thread Mark Thomas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401927

It may not be the same problem but I was getting the same error message
when I first tried investments.

I found I had to reselect the investment account in the "Select Account"
dropdown in the investment window, ie: even though it was shown as the
default selected when the investment window opens I had to click on the
account again to select it for it to work.

Also the error dialog is confusing, if you click details it shows no new
information until you resize the window.

With the select problem I was getting:

Stock account cannot be parent account caugt in
/build/kmymoney-8Tb1zm/kmymoney-5.0.1/kmymoney/mymoney/mymoneyfile.cpp:1059

Hope this helps.

I was able to compile KMM5 on Fedora 28 before upgrading to F29. As I
recall I had to setup a repository with one or more packages that were
required to make it work. I will look to see if I can find the details but
if you search for messages to and from me on the developer list you may
find what you are looking for.

Look for a thread with the subject "Problems Compiling KMM KF5". There may
be others that are related in that time frame.

If you have any OFX accounts mapped in KMM the mappings will be broken. You
have to unmap and remap them. I have notes that suggest changing:

provider="KMyMoney OFX"
to
provider="ofximporter"

for every bank that is mapped may fix this problem. I know I tried it, i
just don't remember if it worked or if I had to remap all of the accounts.

[kmymoney] [Bug 403156] Cmake fails on Fedora 28 looking for LibAlkimia and Qt4 Core and DBus

2019-01-12 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403156

I vaguely recall having the same or similar problem during the switch from qt4
to qt5. My not so accurate memory tells me there is some "generic" command
being used which uses either config files or environment variables to choose
whether to use the actual qt4 or qt5 version of the tool. It's not "cmake"
itself, but something it calls - or maybe just which version of some .cmake
file it uses. I remember it being an unavoidable problem when having both qt4
and qt5 installed.

Try setting "QT_SELECT=qt5 cmake " and see if that forces the right
versions. Check the docs for qtchooser to see if it gives any useful hints.

Fedora 28 does have Qt5/KF5 and ships KMyMoney5. Qt5 is installed (5.11), but
when you run cmake it complains that it needs Qt4::Core and Qt4::DBus
Some example errors when running cmake are:
CMake Error at tools/CMakeLists.txt:1 (add_executable):
Target "xea2kmt" links to target "Qt4::QtCore" but the target was not

Hello, how is the Quick Coding plugin currently supposed to work?

1. I looked at

https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2013/03/goodbye-zen-coding-hello-emmet/ (Quick

2. I entered "class" (without "") into a cpp file

3. and invoked Expand Abbriviation. Nothing happens.

I just realized that icons associated with actions in context menu do not
appear in latte-dock 0.8.4. It would be great if this feature could be ported
to latte 0.9

This is an example of what I talk about (see the three first entries at the
top):

git master is Qt5/KF5 only. You won't be able to build it with Qt4. If Fedora

[kmymoney] [Bug 403156] New: Cmake fails on Fedora 28 looking for LibAlkimia and Qt4 Core and DBus

2019-01-12 Thread Ian Neal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403156

Bug ID: 403156
Summary: Cmake fails on Fedora 28 looking for LibAlkimia and
Qt4 Core and DBus
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: buildsystem
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: iann_bugzi...@blueyonder.co.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When trying to build kmymoney (from git master) on Fedora 28, you get an error
trying to find LibAlkimia and Qt4 Core / DBus

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have Fedora 28 system
2. Make sure LibAlkimia and Qt4 libraries are installed on Fedora 28
3. Run cmake against latest kmymoney git master

OBSERVED RESULT
Error finding LibAlkimia5 cmake file
Errors reported finding target for Qt4::Core and Qt4::DBus

EXPECTED RESULT
LibAlkimia is found
Qt4 targets found

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If you update the CMakeLists.txt to look for LibAlkimia instead of LibAlkimia5
cmake file, then it finds the version 7 library
If you update the CMakeLists.txt to look for Qt package as well as Qt5 then it
complains about "CMake Error: The INTERFACE_QT_MAJOR_VERSION property of
"Qt4::QtCore" does not agree with the value of QT_MAJOR_VERSION already
determined"

Backtrace of kdevelop segfault upon Plasma logout

Every time I log out of my Plasma session while kdevelop is still running,
during the logout process a Dr. Konqui dialog appears informing me that
kdevelop crashed. Usually this is only up for a few seconds before the screen
resets and SDDM appears. I managed to save the backtrace on one occasion
(attached).

The crash seems to happen every time I log out, but it doesn't seem to occur
when I close the kdevelop window manually, though.

I've noticed this problem going several versions back, though I wouldn't be
able to say exactly when it started.

KDE Frameworks 5.53.0 is the latest version that comes with Fedora 28 (and

I can see from the KDE Frameworks code that if KMessageBox::Option is set to
Dangerous then the cancel button has focus but not sure what is causing that in
this case. It is happening in all ContinueCancel dialogs, not just the one for
deleting a split item.

Steam is doing some fishy things.

Apparently, it changes _NET_WM_STATE property after quitting a game. There are
two problems with that:
* The property is changed while the client is in the Iconic state. Clients can
change _NET_WM_STATE only in the withdrawn state;
* We, most likely, don't honor _NET_WM_STATE set by clients (MUST != SHOULD).

Steam should just send a _NET_WM_STATE client message to the root window.

[krita] [Bug 403149] Krita does not treat changes in merely layer names as valid modifications to a document

2019-01-12 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403149

My argument would be:
1) why would anybody change the layer names if they don't want to save them?
2) it has real world usage when someone open a document just to change the
layer names before they can present the source file to the next person who will
be working on it.
3) The current state is just so confusing. Took me a while to realize why
dropbox didn't update my uploaded file -- because Krita did not save the
changes in the first place.

[krita] [Bug 403149] New: Krita does not treat changes in merely layer names as valid modifications to a document

2019-01-12 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403149

Bug ID: 403149
Summary: Krita does not treat changes in merely layer names as
valid modifications to a document
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.7
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tysont...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
If all a user do after opening a document was to change some layer names, Krita
would not consider the document has been changed and thus cannot save the
modified layer names without at least painting something.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a existing multi-layer document
2. Change the names of the layers, do nothing else

OBSERVED RESULT
Since Krita does not consider the document to be modified, there is no * mark
in title bar, and thus it cannot save the modified layer names unless you paint
something first. I discovered this bug when I was trying to fix a dumb typo in
my document's layer names.

> I'm genuinely curious as to whether your machine is worse than mine or
> whether it's subjective opinions on the same thing. We should test at Akademy.

I guess we didn't get around to this :). But I guess I don't really see how it
couldn't be terrible. It's a 1x window being scaled naively to 2x with no
smoothing or so, i.e. straight up pixel-doubling, which makes everything look
like Minecraft. Do you remember the bug Gwenview had for a long time with hidpi
where its content view was heavily pixelated? Same thing ...

I'm fine with pursuing the path of "get Firefox/Wayland working, and forget
about XWayland" anyway, but I also can't begrudge anyone with a 4K screen not
wanting to use Plasma/Wayland at the moment due to this. I think this problem
will come up again with certain 2D games in the future however.

[okular] [Bug 403148] New: Cannot print in original size to paper printer

2019-01-12 Thread Henning
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=403148

Bug ID: 403148
Summary: Cannot print in original size to paper printer
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.4.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: printing
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: h.lo...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
- With Okular, I am not able to print a pdf (page size A4) in 100% on my paper
printer. My printer is a Brother MFC9142CDN, CUPS wrapper, network printer. It
always scales to the printable area.
- LibreOffice 6.1.2.1 is able to print in original size. Yet I had to install
the manufacturer's proprietary printer driver (with CUPS wrapper) to be able to
get an originally sized output.
- Other pdf viewers, e.g. evince, also fail.
- Printing to a pdf file in KDE always works fine.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install a network printer.
2. Produce a document with a graphical object in LibreOffice, export as Pdf.
3. Print from LibreOffice (set original size output) and from PDF viewer, print
to printer and to Pdf file, try modifying paper margins. Measure the graphical
object's size on paper with a ruler, in the printed Pdf with a Pdf viewer that
features a ruler (e.g. LibreOffice Draw).

OBSERVED RESULT
I could only succeed with printing from LibreOffice using a proprietary printer
driver for my network printer.

EXPECTED RESULT
- Scaling option in print dialog
- paper print in original size

Relevant code is in libtaskmanager/virtualdesktopinfo.cpp:329,
`VirtualDesktopInfo::WaylandPrivate::desktopNames()`.

`KWayland::Client::PlasmaVirtualDesktop` instances from the interface look
good, except `PlasmaVirtualDesktop::name()` returns nothing. So the applet gets
nothing in the end.

This was fixed in

Fix semantics for ghns_exclude

After much discussion on the topic, it came to light that the
specific grammar used for the default tag in KNSCore was
incorrect, as it was an action verb (rather than an adjective
the way the metadata tags are supposed to be). While this does
mean that previous versions of Frameworks will not have the
filtering functionality by default, it is otherwise
non-invasive and causes no side effects apart from the
server-suggested filtering working.
