[Touchpad-KCM] [Bug 404934] New: Keyboard modifiers cause touchpad disable to get stuck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404934 Bug ID: 404934 Summary: Keyboard modifiers cause touchpad disable to get stuck Product: Touchpad-KCM Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: daemon Assignee: rajeeshknamb...@gmail.com Reporter: spa...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Intermittently (a few times per day) my system enters a state where using modifier keys (shift, alt, control, super) results in the touchpad staying disabled when it should be disabled for just 250ms or not at all. The precise behavior is not always predictable, but at least one such mode comes up repeatedly. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. unknown requirements to enter the problematic mode 2. press and release Alt key 3. press and hold Alt key 4. release after a few seconds. OBSERVED RESULT Press and release causes the touchpad to disable for the configured delay, 250ms by default. Press and hold causes the touchpad to disable for the configured delay, then re-enable after the delay while the key is still held. Release causes the touchpad to disable indefinitely, until Alt is tapped again. EXPECTED RESULT As in normal usage, no part of modifier/shortcut usage should trigger the touchpad disabling behavior. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0 Qt Version: 5.11.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is probably a duplicate of #332654 from five years ago. I have run xev while the problem is extant and it registers all the keyboard events that I expect for pressing and holding and releasing the key, and no touchpad events when the touchpad is disabled. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-ktexteditor] [Bug 404907] ktexteditor: lineheight regression
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404907 --- Comment #8 from RJVB --- Created attachment 118450 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118450=edit both, with shared line background Good idea the check the shaded line background mode. I don't know if this more really paints the entre lineheight (or rather, the text height) but it does show a little bit better what's going on. In particular pasting one of the emojis on a line that didn't have one yet: - shows the line being pushed down (with the reverted commit) as if the emoji is higher - shows the shaded background doesn't change (much) in height. An additional test would be to use Segoe UI Symbol as the editor font, but that's not a monospaced font and I don't know to what extend Kate can handle variable-width fonts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404907 --- Comment #7 from Thomas Schöps --- Thanks for adding the image. Comparing the correct and the incorrect version in GIMP, it seems that the patch causes no difference in line height for the font used here. Committed on 28/02/2019 at 21:36. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. [Digital Clock] Replace 12/24hr tri-state checkbox in config UI with combobox Summary: The use of a tri-state checkbox for the three possible states (12hr, 24hr, use locale default) is not ideal because it violates the convention regarding what tri-state checkboxes are used for: nested lists where some sub-items can be unselected. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404907 --- Comment #5 from Thomas Schöps --- It seems that both uploaded images are the same and both show the incorrect state. I couldn't reproduce this here since the emojis fit into the line with the font that is used here. I am wondering whether the emojis already extended beyond the line height before, but that was hidden by the workaround with the second drawing pass that was applied there. To determine this, it might perhaps be helpful to have a screenshot of the correct state in which the cursor is in one of the lines with an emoji (since this line's background should be of a different color then, making the line height visible). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdevelop] [Bug 404925] New: code completion popup content can change after the user selected an item

Sometimes I even get the result of an entirely unexpected code completion when the popup appears just before my tap on the Enter key lands or the keypress gets registered. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Activate automatic appearance of the completion popup OBSERVED RESULT As described in the summary, happening more frequently with documents with lots of headers and code that leads to long lists with completion candidates. I can't affirm that it happens more often on my slower machine than on my faster machine but it does happen more often when I'm keeping the machine busy (and is elusive when you want to trigger it). EXPECTED RESULT Deterministic behaviour... SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0 Qt Version: 5.9.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A few possible solutions: - a user-configurable "select this entry" would prevent accidental code completion when all you want is just enter a newline - make it impossible to accept an entry from the list if the list isn't yet complete OR - activate the feature only when the list is complete. I'm attaching a tiny patch that appears to achieve the latter solution by using the waitForReset signal. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ring-kde] [Bug 404004] After quitting, app doesn't exit cleanly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404004 Emmanuel Lepage Vallée changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |FIXED Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED --- Comment #2 from Emmanuel Lepage Vallée --- It seems most issues have been dealt with. There might still be a few. They should be in their own bug report with the step to reproduce them. Note that closing the window doesn't quit. If it did you could not receive calls. There should be a status notifier icon in the systray. But there's a quit button in the global drawer and it doesn't make the app crash (which was why it wasn't there before). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 404920] New: Plasma 5.15.1 does not detect joystick or load joystick kcm module under FreeBSD
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404920 Bug ID: 404920 Summary: Plasma 5.15.1 does not detect joystick or load joystick kcm module under FreeBSD Product: systemsettings Version: 5.15.1 Platform: Other OS: FreeBSD Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_joystick Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: doctorwho...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have a Logitech Dual Action game pad plugged into a computer which dual boots Funtoo Linux 1.2 and FreeBSD 12.0-STABLE r344470. My Linux installation is running Plasma 5.12.3, and the gamepad is detected and works fine. The joystick kcm module shows up in system settings and works as expected. But on my FreeBSD installation, which runs Plasma 5.15.1, the kcm module for joystick doesn't even appear in the system settings input tab. I do have a /dev/input/js0 device node, and jstest-gtk correctly identifies the gamepad as a Logitech Dual Action. So the gamepad works on the OS level under FreeBSD, but Plasma does not detect it. I did ensure that xf86-input-joystick is installed. [kwin] [Bug 374971] On Wayland previeweing designs of tabbox doesn't clean them up afterwards
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374971 Patrick Silva changed: What|Removed |Added CC||bugsefor...@gmx.com --- Comment #4 from Patrick Silva --- Yesterday I noticed this problem... Why can the preview of the same tabbox be activated several times? Here, if I click on preview button twice while a window is maximized behind system settings, I can close the second preview by pressing ESC, but the first preview went to background and I need to minimize system settings to close it by presing ESC or clicking on the window that was behind system settings. If none window was behind system settings, click on desktop wallpaper does not close the first preview and sometimes it also is not closed when I press ESC because it's not focused. So I need click it before press ESC. I think that the preview of the same tabbox should not be activated more than one time.
