[kate] [Bug 312430] Mapping of 'Highlighting Text Styles' to 'Default Text Styles': local config file overrides syntax file

Perhaps is the title of this report not correct.

Didn't do test or looked closer, but after reading here it sounds to me that
you only (has/want) to set some refercence as your wished default, but the
config is written with some complete data set. So, when the referenced default
was changed upstream, are still the old values used.

[yakuake] [Bug 401982] One Wayland login cripples Yakuake in X11 forever

2019-03-10 Thread Andrej Podzimek
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401982

I'm still running into this with Yakuake 3.0.5.

This time I'm seeing it on my desktop, which has dual 5K (5120x2880). I was
shifting from ugly scaling tricks needeed ~2 years ago to a more contemporary
setup where Qt + Plasma just get things right.

Scaling factor 1 -> no issue with Yakuake.
Scaling factor 2 -> Yakuake says it has a 100% height, but is at 50%; width is
unaffected.
Scaling factor 3 -> Yakuake says it has a 100% height, but looks like 1/3;
width is unaffected.

This^^^ is slightly different from the dual 4K setup, in which case also width
was weird, Yakuake was not even centered etc.

I have the following variables set (out of which only the last one is probably
relevant for this case, I guess):

export GDK_SCALE=3
export GDK_DPI_SCALE=.33
export ELM_SCALE=3
export PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1

File name is...
libcomposeplatforminputcontextplugin.so
libfcitxplatforminputcontextplugin.so
libibusplatforminputcontextplugin.so

You can download these files from this link.

If you merge these files to Appimage, Korean input problem will be solved.

emohr, Thank you for your kind reply.

If the 18.12.1b Appimage contains QT 5.11.2, it would be right. I downloaded
appimage file from this link.
https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/kdenlive-18.12.1b-x86_64.appimage

But.. Korean Language input problem is not likely to be caused by different
version of QT.

I think appimage of kdenlive doesn't contain fcitx-hangul components and
ibus-hangul components. Can you check these posts for solve this problem?
https://moordev.tistory.com/287
https://github.com/qTox/qTox/issues/5320

The modified appimage file can input korean language very well.

If you catch some hints, the problem can be solved naturally.

SUMMARY
Unexpected connections between fast, short, close brush strokes.
What's weird is that it's not the end point and the starting point that are
connected.

This is one of the very old bugs that I've been experiencing. It bothers when
I'm writing letters.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Draw many short(it must be short!), thin, fast strokes close to each others.

[plasmashell] [Bug 405332] New: KDE Neon Dev: Trash icon should be available by default on the desktop for easy access and discoverability

2019-03-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405332

Bug ID: 405332
Summary: KDE Neon Dev: Trash icon should be available by
default on the desktop for easy access and
discoverability
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Containment
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: guimarcalsi...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

If I delete a file and want to recover it (or delete it permanently) from the
trash bin it's hard to find where it is located, because the trash folder is
hidden in the widgets panel/Dolphin window. The trash icon should be on the
desktop (or on the panel) by default in order to make it easier for new users
to find it (In my case I accidentally deleted a file and it took me a while to
find the trash folder).

[valgrind] [Bug 402833] memcheck/tests/overlap testcase fails, memcpy seen as memmove

2019-03-10 Thread Philippe Waroquiers

(In reply to Julian Seward from comment #2)
> Is there any progress here? How important will it be to fix this for 3.15.0?

I believe this will be a non neglectible change in the REDIR mechanism,
as the REDIR will have to be done at at ifunc level.

As far as I can see; not fixing this means some false negative for memcpy,
not detecting overlap args.
So, not that critical IMO

I've just remembered another issue I've been having with svg - some svgs are
displaying a black line across the bottom of the screen in kdenlive, the first
thing I did which fixed the problem temporarily was turn off "show page shadow"
in inkscape, but it came back. It doesn't seem to happen with all svgs but I
can't figure out why some work and some don't.

I'll attach an svg that displays the strange black line and screenshot of it in
displaying the line kdenlive.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update the system (happened yesterday, march 9th)

In the file
/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.taskmanager/contents/ui/MouseHandler.qml

[kmymoney] [Bug 405329] New: CPU loop reconciling if all transactions are cleared

2019-03-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405329

Bug ID: 405329
Summary: CPU loop reconciling if all transactions are cleared
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.0.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: database
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: jdmo...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When reconciling a credit card account, if "Configure->Ledger->Data
entry->Automatic reconciliation" is checked, and all transactions to be
reconciled are already cleared (after downloading transactions for example, so
the Cleared balance == the Ending balance in the reconcile wizard), the
reconcile wizard goes into a CPU loop (100% of 1 cpu). kmymoney has to be
killed. This only happens if "Automatic reconciliation" is checked.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a credit card account and download transactions so that the cleared
balance in kmymoney equals the current statement balance.
2. Reconcile in kmymoney. At the end of the reconcile wizard, kmymoney locks up
(becomes unresponsive) and has to be killed
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Kmymoney locks up following reconciliation wizard, using 12% cpu on 8-thread
system

EXPECTED RESULT
Continue with account reconciliation.

[dolphin] [Bug 322922] Dolphin should not store .directory files inside the actual directory to avoid cluttering and polluting the filesystem; should instead store this data in extended attributes

@Nate: note that extended attributes are UNIX-specific. I think that storing
the view properties in $XDG_DATA_HOME (which dolphin already does for remote or
non-writable folders) is our best way forward.

Another problem is that KFileItem in KIO assumes that folders could store
.directory files, so that should be addressed as well.

Well, to check where opencv headers are installed on my computer.

Now I understand that Discover is not an experts application, thus this must be
out of its scope. May be better to add a button "Show in KPackageKit" (or in
whatever package manager is installed).

of the other games I ply, however I don't play all of them.
In order to solve "simple simon" after actually solving it, I have to press

[digikam] [Bug 405327] New: Position and size of faces display depends on configuration setting

2019-03-10 Thread Hanspeter Halle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405327

Bug ID: 405327
Summary: Position and size of faces display depends on
configuration setting
   Product: digikam
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Faces-Workflow
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: hpha...@t-online.de
  Target Milestone: ---

The place a face tag displayed depends on the setting of "Preview is zoomed to
the original image size". If this parameter is changed while face tags are
displayed the tags move around and even outside the image size.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open an image with face tags displayed
2. Change setting->preview->Preview is zoomed to the original image size

OBSERVED RESULT
Face tag display moves to another position of the image

EXPECTED RESULT
Face tag stays at the same position

[plasmashell] [Bug 405326] New: Plasma crashes when both monitors are turned off.

2019-03-10 Thread Benjamin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405326

Bug ID: 405326
Summary: Plasma crashes when both monitors are turned off.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.15.2
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: burd...@yahoo.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.15.2)

Qt Version: 5.12.1
Frameworks Version: 5.55.0
Operating System: Linux 5.0.0-arch1-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution: "ArcoLinuxB-plasma"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed: Plasma often crashes when I
turn off both of my monitors. I have checked the logs and the crashes are
consistent with the time that I turned off both my monitors. I have a 1080p
75Hz. Freesync monitor plugged in by HDMI and a 144Hz. 1080p Freesync monitor
plugged in by DisplayPort. I am currently using the KDE version of Arco Linux,
but I had similar issues when I was using the Plasma desktop on Archman Linux
as well.

- Unusual behavior I noticed: I don't always get a notification of Plasma
crashing when I turn off my monitors, but my icons always get reset to the
distribution defaults.

- Custom settings of the application:I have a 1080p 75Hz. Freesync monitor
plugged in by HDMI and a 144Hz. 1080p Freesync monitor plugged in by
DisplayPort.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

There are two modules where it is possible to set the meridian flip : in the

I find bizarre that when I set a value in one module it's not reflected in the

I wonder why the increment is 1 hour in one module and 0.1 hour in the other

I have run into the same problem.

Card motion is often stuttery and cards that could be automatically moved to
the solved pile are not.

This is definitely not a memory issue as I have 32G of RAM.

It is definitely a regression in kpat between 18.04.3 and 18.12.2.

On a fully up to date Fedora 29 system 18.04.3 works fine. 18.12.2 does not.

Ok.. even though I successfully installed (had to manually renter all my tasks
but it's a minor inconvenience), I was wondering if this is normal.

Look at the PIDs (processes) and was noticing that there is a lot of activity
with the akonadi processes EVEN when I X out and close the TSR in the task bar.

Then I did a pkill -f akonadi. Restarted the application and now, no more
chatter!!!
I don't get it.

I will be updating this ticket in the next few days. Thank you.

rights where ok, but only the first channels added to channle list where
inside.
After trying repait without success, I killed kaffeine plus killed database.
After re-install all seemed fine...till i closed kaffeine and restarted.
Then again scan could only find a few channels.

[kstars] [Bug 404929] Astrometry doesn't work at all in version 3.1

2019-03-10 Thread Rob
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404929

Yurly,

According to your log file, the astrometry solver is working correctly as far
as I can tell. Astrometry does require that you get a lot of things configured
correctly in order to actually solve your images. Your issue could be one of
several things that you should check.

1. Is the path in the astrometry config file correct for where you installed
your index files?
2. Do you have any index files installed at that location?
3. Do you have the correct values for your aperture and focal length of your
scope entered in the Mount module?
4. Check all the settings for the astrometry solver in KStars. There are many
options. You could try turning them on/off. Scale and Location are the big
two you should try turning off

Also please try with the simulators inside to optimize all these settings
instead of trying to do it outside under the real sky. Time under the stars is
very limited.

[kmymoney] [Bug 405293] CSV importer does not handle transfers

As I was the one who had the problem which Thomas describes in opening this bug
(and heled me fix- Thanks Thomas!), I want to clarify that here in the U.S. it
appears to be common for banks to go to CSV file formats as the ONLY
transaction download option.

In the case of my two banks ("Credit Union" Banks) both offer "Category" AND
"Tag" columns, and both include an "Account" column. Both banks allow a user of
their web site to custom categorize transactions, one bank putting these in a
"tags" column and the other in 2 cols of "Parent Category" and "Category".

Understanding how KMyMoney processes (Allocates Payee/Description vs. Category)
these columns was my dilemma, and I think the documentation should detail the
process, unless Thomas's suggested fix is considered a better option.

Log file from the solver

After I upgraded to kstars 3.1.0 both the offline and online solvers stopped
working. The first upgrade consisted of just dragging the kstars.app into the
Application folder. Then the solver was not able to solve neither real or
simulated images. I removed the application and id a clean install. Same
outcome. Today I installed 3.1.1 hoping that the astrometry solver will be
fixed, but I got the same result. I read this bug report and tried changing the
paths and various other settings. I attach the log file from the terminal
window if that can give any indication of what is wrong.

Status: REPORTED

Is there a way to easily back up the application?
I love the product but at times, my linuxbox will crash (every so many years)
and would love to recover quickly instead of having to reenter everything
manually...

Which directory am I supposed to back up?

Tried /home/pierre/.local/share/kalarm but it crashed kalarm last time!

Couldn't find anything in the kalarm pdf manual

Thanks my friend David.

2019-03-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405320

Bug ID: 405320
Summary: Cannot find ISO files in /home/user/Downloads/ISO
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.15.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filesearch

krunner does not find ISO files

SUMMARY
Cannot find ISO file in /home/user/Downloads/ISO even though other files in the
same directory are accessible (mostly text files).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. I have 17 files in /home/user/Downloads/ISO/
2. I can find some files via file search in krunner but I can not find most of
them (see attachment)

OBSERVED RESULT
It does not find the file I was looking for but suggests a document/text file,
which is right next to it in the same directory.

EXPECTED RESULT
Show the right file

Bug ID: 405319
Summary: Add setting to increate KsysGuard exit process grayed
out timeout?
   Product: ksysguard
   Version: 5.12.7
  Platform: Mint (Debian based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Reporter: evandroc...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/503685/how-increate-ksysguard-exit-process-grayed-out-timeout

When a process exits, `ksysguard` make it gray for just a second before
removing it from the process list. I would like for it to keep showing for the
next 10 minutes, so I can easily see old processes which recently exited.

I already can do that with Process Hacker on Windows, as it has this setting:

How can I changed the highlight duration with `KsysGuard` Monitor?

That sounds great!
I just found another reason, why this would be really good: If I want to file a
bug/request for an application I do not know that well, I sometimes just don't
know the correct name ...

[BalooWidgets] [Bug 399650] Video duration in Dolphin details mode not working (m2ts & mkv)

screenshot of dolphin 18.12.3

My problems with baloo are already known.

I can confirm the bug reported here at least with mkv files.
As you can see in my screenshot, there is no additional info about mkv files:
duration, height, width and bitrate columns are empty. OGV file is also
affected.
I have no m2ts file here to test.

home directory on the left with all the files just created; file not found via

Before I sometimes was able to find the file though, if I previously
deactivated file search in System Settings.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open home directory and create files called "test (1)", "test (2)", "test
(3)" and so on
2. try to search for "test (2)" via CTRL+F (baloo active)
3. deactivate file search in System Settings
4. again: try to search for "test (2)" via CTRL+F

OBSERVED RESULT
there is no entry shown (this time neither with 2. nor 4. unfortunately)
