I am coming here after, with Beniamino Galvani 's help in
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1765490#c13, it became clear that
KDE Plasma NetworkManager interprets the data from NetworkManager wrongly:

$ nmcli connection show $conn_uuid
802-3-ethernet.speed: 0
802-3-ethernet.duplex: --
802-3-ethernet.auto-negotiate: no

shows up as Auto Negotiate: No, Speed: 100Mbps, Duplex: Half in the KDE Plasma
NetworkManager connection configuration dialogue.

According to him, it *should* mean: Auto Negotiate: No, Speed: Link Default,
Duplex: Link Default.

[krita] [Bug 414021] New: Krita sometimes resets workspace to default after relaunch and corrupts project & autosave files

2019-11-10 Thread Anton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414021

Bug ID: 414021
Summary: Krita sometimes resets workspace to default after
relaunch and corrupts project & autosave files
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.7.1
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: jinnero...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123836
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123836=edit
Help>System information for Bug Reports

SUM:
I think from version 4.x.x I started having this bug that would reset krita to
default state after relaunch. Last two times this also corrupted project files
and once with autosave.

REPRODUCING:
It only happened after I closed the krita normally, by closing the programm
window after saving the project, and came back to work the next day after I
turned on the laptop and launched krita.

I'm almost sure it would only happen after I restart windows, and I very often
turn off the laptop by holding down the power button which can be the cause but
this bug never happened before I moved to version 4.x.x

I also checked the crashlog and it doesn't seem like the krita crashes when
this bug occurs.

OBSERVED RESULT:
After launching krita the next day I'd see the programm in pretty much it's
default state. Workspace is set to default, no history of recent projects, my
brush tags are lost, although I could solve it just by loading up my workspace
presets and re-tagging the brushes as pretty much everything else stayed the
same.

But the last two times it happened in addition to workspace reset the last save
project files got corrupted, and once with autosave not being able to load too.
Today same thing happened but thank god the autosave remained intact.

EXPECTED RESULT:
I just wanted to not lose my workspace and project files on krita launch.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 64-bit windows 10 home single language version 1903 build 18362.418
Krita: 4.2.7.1

Hardware info from Help>System information for Bug Reports:
  GPU Acceleration: auto
  Memory: 7068 Mb
  Number of Cores: 4
  Swap Location: C:/Users/Potts_/AppData/Local/Temp
one screen

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I'll attach the full text from Help>System information for Bug Reports as well
as all the corrupted files because of this bug.
I always work with default color model and channel depth (RGB/Alpha, depth:
8-bit integer/channel) and the last project had resolution of 1200x1500 with
100 ppi, and I think the previous corrupted file had very similiar resolution.

This thing when it happens completely ruins my day, I don't want to draw with
the fear of losing all of my progress. I love krita and I'll continiue using it
but probably will start making manual back-up files.

That's the problem with the locale we've already talked about. At the moment I
strongly advise against using the AppImage. Without a working locale that
affects many things like date and string comparisons, digiKam is not safe to
use. At the moment, compile digiKam from the sources themselves.

[systemsettings] [Bug 414020] New: Allow overriding a program's command by automatically creating a user-owned copy of the desktop file

2019-11-10 Thread Szczepan Hołyszewski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414020

Bug ID: 414020
Summary: Allow overriding a program's command by automatically
creating a user-owned copy of the desktop file
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.17.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_autostart
  Assignee: mon...@kde.org
  Reporter: rula...@wp.pl
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Please allow overriding an autostart program's command by creating a user-owned
copy of the desktop file if the original desktop file is not writable by the
user.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add slack as a program to autostart
2. Modify the command to add the -u switch to start slack minimized in systray
3. Try saving the program dialog

OBSERVED RESULT

Alert box saying "Cannot save properties. Insufficient permissions to save
/home//.config/autostart/slack.desktop." (backtranslated from Polish).

EXPECTED RESULT

It should just work.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux 5.3.8-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT x86_64 GNU/Linux
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0

Kernel Version: 5.3.8-arch1-1
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor
Memory: 15,6 GiB

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The error message refers to the location of the symlink. You cannot "save" a
symlink, and attempt to save its target obviously hits insufficient permissions
as the file is actually /usr/share/applications/slack.desktop and is owned by
root.

[kmymoney] [Bug 413986] Problem in Transaction Entry Area

2019-11-10 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413986

I do not understand exactly what you are asking. If you make a deposit or
withdrawal, then the first field in the transfer form is the Payee and the
second field is the category. If you select Transfer as the type of
transaction, the first field is still a Payee (which is often not filled in for
a transfer) and the second field is the account to transfer to or from. In
this case, the dropdown to the left of the payee lets you select whether you
are transferring TO or FROM the account specified in the second field.

I don't know if you are being confused by the terminology, but Deposit or
Withdrawal imply the direction the funds are moving, but a Transfer is always
between two accounts, and it is TO one and FROM the other.

Hi, in cases like that it's better to first contact Krita developers on other
users to get support instead of reporting a bug. If this version didn't
recognize tablet pressure at all, it wouldn't be released.

Please check out those tips:
https://docs.krita.org/en/contributors_manual/user_support.html#quick-solutions
- especially the one about Windows 8+ Pointer. Make sure you click OK button
after changing settings, if you don't see it, press alt+O.

Also try to first connect your tablet and then open Krita.

If you it still doesn't work or you have further issues, please ask a question
here (our new shiny forum): https://krita-artists.org/c/support/tablet-support
or on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/krita/ or on irc (real-time chat):

[frameworks-kiconthemes] [Bug 402172] Compiling against Qt 5.12 breaks QIcon::themeName with Plama platform plugin

In my application, I have a simple test for empty QIcon::themeName(), in which
case I set a fallback theme name. The reason is that on other platforms
(Windows etc.), using theme icons with fallback files in qrc *only* works when
a theme name is set.[1]

Now with current KDE, Qt this leads to my application to set the false theme
name and ignore desktop icons. This means, there is quite a few cross-platform
applications out there with this problem.

Extract of /var/log/syslog

SUMMARY

I have noticed that the Digikam 6.4.0 stable appimage (and also some of the
preceding betas) cause logfiles to grow very fast. I am talking about several
GB in a few minutes. I have encountedred this issue in two computers already,
filling 25GB of disk space in a couple of hours, mainly in /var/log/syslog, but
also in system journal at /var/log/journal/.

The content of the logs seems to be the same lines repeating over and over
again. I have attached a small sample.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Check the size of /var/log/syslog
2. Use digikam for half an hour (tag pictures and sort directories)

OBSERVED RESULT
Notice how the log file has increased substantially in size.

EXPECTED RESULT
Log files should not have grown so much in a single session.

That maybe the case. I did manage to compile libarchive from source and ran its
different tests, and the ones related to zstd/lz4 all Pass. Yet i have the same
issue after installing it even though i can use tar to package zstd/lz4 file
OK.

Out of curiosity, can you reproduce this only when you unplug the device while
it's off/asleep, or can you also reproduce it when you unplug the device while
it's displaying something?

Git commit 2cf2d4d02912dd6e285350b30f00f24eb092ad9c by Elvis Angelaccio, on
behalf of Maciej Dems.
Committed on 10/11/2019 at 21:16.
Pushed by elvisangelaccio into branch 'release/19.12'.

Fixed git status retrieval splitting entries

Summary:

Sometimes, for large repositories the status is messed up (which in unlucky
case causes `Commit..` command to disappear).

The reason for this is that `FileViewGitPlugin::beginRetrieval` method cannot
correctly parse the `git status` output. The reason for this is that
`FileViewGitPlugin::readUntilZeroChar` does not return complete entry, because
it is not provided fast enough.

The idea of this patch is to allow the `FileViewGitPlugin::readUntilZeroChar`
to wait for the remaining data.

Test Plan:
The bug depends on the race condition between the plugin code and executed
`git` code. Hence it is hard to test. To fake the issue make fake git process
that pauses mid entry. In such case the loop in
`FileViewGitPlugin::beginRetrieval` should parse eg:

!! ABCDEFGH\0x00

Instead it gets:

!! AB\0x00
CDEFGH\0x00

which results in two entries for non-existent files.

The patch solves this issue.

[kdenlive] [Bug 414006] Spacer tool is prohibitively slow with many timeline clips

2019-11-10 Thread Bill Robinson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414006

So it looks like just shuffling along these clips they are being removed and
then reinserted.

It appears that Mlt::Playlist::insert_at->mlt_playlist_insert_at is called 360
times and this causes 2,800,000+ calls to mlt_playlist_virtual_refresh and
28,000,000+ calls to mlt_properties_get_data which is where most of the freeze
happens.

This is making kdenlive unusable for me :(

Is it possible to get a version of that timeline-shuffling spacer tool that
just changes the start/end properties of the clips instead of
removing/re-adding them, because it seems to be very expensive in MLT.

Thanks

QLocale().toString(QDateTime::fromSecsSinceEpoch(time), QLocale::ShortFormat);
is used to format modificationtime so QLocal and the formatting comes from Qt's
CLDR database : http://cldr.unicode.org/
https://wiki.qt.io/Locale_Support_in_Qt_5

You can find CLDR data for es :
http://www.unicode.org/cldr/charts/28/summary/es.html

It specifies :
TimeGregorian Formats - Standard - Date Formats short M/d/yy
d/M/yy

So this is expected behavior.

[kdenlive] [Bug 414011] New: Double-click doesn't open the preview in fullscreen AND Video and Audio timeline are shrunk

2019-11-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414011

Bug ID: 414011
Summary: Double-click doesn't open the preview in fullscreen
AND Video and Audio timeline are shrunk
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.12.3
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: confidentwr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123827

KDEnlive GUI

SUMMARY

As I cannot go back to the "normal" version, I have no idea how to reproduce
the bug. Here are the descriptions of the bugs I am suddenly encountering.

VIDEO PREVIEW BUG: I can no longer double-click on the video preview (top
right) to open it to fullscreen: it only plays and pauses the "small" video
preview. I have to manually click on Options/Zoom and then on the fullscreen.

SHRUNK TIMELINE BUG: The timelines of Videos and Audios are shrunk (cf.
attachment) and I cannot resize them.

FYI: Before these two bugs, I suppose that KDEnlive crashed making all my
graphics crash (I could no longer do anything on the desktop, but the music I
was listening to on Rhythmbox still played). I cannot affirm that it was
KDEnlive that crashed as I had other apps open (Files, Rhythmbox, GIMP). But I
can say that before this crash, I used KDEnlive in the afternoon without these
bugs. What I also changed between the working KDEnlive and the weird one is
that I installed the breeze theme (with icons) and set it up to KDEnlive. I
also tried to put a picture with transparency in my project.
Since the bugs, I tried to purge KDEnlive and install it again with no luck. I
still have the same problems and don't know what to do.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

[KAccounts] [Bug 414010] New: Adding a google account results in an invalid (empty) and non-working entry

2019-11-10 Thread Hans-Peter Jansen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414010

Bug ID: 414010
Summary: Adding a google account results in an invalid (empty)
and non-working entry
   Product: KAccounts
   Version: 19.08.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

empty kaccount google item

SUMMARY

Add a google account succeeds, but the result is unusable.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an google account

OBSERVED RESULT
The created account doesn't show a name, and accerssing google drive fails

EXPECTED RESULT
The account should be displayed correctly, and accessing google drive succeeds.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20191107
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0
Qt Version: 5.13.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This used to work, but today, I've created my gmail account in KMail and failed
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404990), but meanwhile, I remvoed my
working google account in exchange for a now defective one.

Dophin shows a single "New Account" item in the Goggle Drive tree, and opening
it opens the kaccounts manager again, that asks for selecting an account.
Clicking on the otherwise empty "g" shows, that the two services, Drive and
YouTube are enabled, but dysfunctional.

Yep, created https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/issues/837 and
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/poppler/poppler/issues/839 to keep track.

@ghavamikia: If you can reproduce the steps that lead to "okular note" note
even shown in Okular, it would be nice to give more details and snapshots of
the PDF file on its way breaking bad. attachment 123763 is in an inconsistent
state wrt. generation numbers, whatever software caused it should get its own

[kate] [Bug 381532] Differentiate tabs with identical filenames

Can we resurrect the patch and try again?

My 2cents:
emacs does similar to sublime , except has main.yml instead of
main.yml - handlers. no big deal either way.

better than what we currently have: main.yaml and main.yaml(2)

[kactivitymanagerd] [Bug 413940] Crash in DBus handling after error in XML parsing

2019-11-10 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413940

Git commit 35e5dc950e8fe2dfba46040495e21b17ed580dc1 by David Edmundson.
Committed on 10/11/2019 at 17:29.
Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'master'.

Remove pointless QDBusServiceWatcher

Summary:
KActivitymanagerd's ksmserver has a QDBusServiceWatcher in order to
recreate a QDBusInterface when the service goes away. There is no need
to do this, a call to a given method to a given service will work
regardless, dispatching to the correct client is all internal to
dbus-daemon.

QDBusAbstractInterface has it's own internal QDBusServiceWatcher anyway
so we don't get any behavioural differences if we check isValid.

This is worth fixing as this class is moved threads and we end up with
newly created children in a mess.
