[dolphin] [Bug 404955] Add an option to always show the file extension

2020-03-27 Thread Lurkningen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404955

Lurkningen changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||lurknin...@aol.com

Often the rightmost part of long file names (with the exception of the
extension) is the most useless part, with specific details such as unique IDs,
tags, or long version strings being tacked at the end. And sometimes you can
get some of that "noise" both at the start and at the end of the file name,
with the result that with the new behaviour the actual useful part of the file
name becomes completely hidden.

A smarter way to do this would be to try to always show the extension and put
the ellipsis just before it, though handling double extensions won't be
straightforward.

In any case I think it would be better to make this optional. Sometimes you
just want to be certain that the file name you are seeing is the actual file
name. I've seen one too many file names with ellipses in them and the first
time I saw the new behaviour I didn't even realise those weren't part of the
file name.

[krita] [Bug 419324] New: Edit bundle resets bundle resources (Krita 4.2.9)

2020-03-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419324

Bug ID: 419324
Summary: Edit bundle resets bundle resources (Krita 4.2.9)
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Resource Management
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: noctualis...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I just installed Krita version 4.2.9 and went to edit one of my brush bundles
that I created. When I try to edit a bundle, it seems to save it, but when I
hit edit bundle a second time the right panel is completely empty. This makes
me think that it corrupts or empties the bundle when you save an edit.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. select a bundle that was imported
2. press edit bundle
3. change bundle then save bundle
4. press edit bundle again
5. observe right panel is empty

OBSERVED RESULT

I created the bundle in a previous version of Krita and when I opened the
manage resource bundles window it showed in the active bundles section. I
selected my bundle and hit edit bundle. It showed up normally and I took out a
brush and added a new type of brush into the bundle and pressed save. Then I
realized I had another edit so I hit edit bundle again. This showed the normal
edit panel, with all the information on the left hand side filled out, but it
reset all the brushes and brush presets so that it appeared to be an empty
bundle. And my preview image turned red.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expected that it would keep the brushes already selected for this bundle (as
it did in previous versions of Krita)

I am also encountering this issue, and would like more of the <19.08 workflow

keyboard shortcut, or otherwise) an existing konsole shell to be part of a view
of another shell.

Also, the documentation on views:

https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/applications/konsole/commandreference.html#view-menu

is out of date, as "View -> Split View -> Close Others" no longer exists as an
option (on my system).

The search box on the Chinese version of docs.krita.org is not working. In
fact, it probably never worked. As long as the search term is Chinese, it is
always no match, while many pages have been in fact, fully translated.

For example, if we search the Chinese word for brush: 笔刷, It returns nothing.
But if we search in English for "brush", on the Chinese version, we can still
get the untranslated pages with the word "brush".

This issue greatly impacts the usefulness of Krita's documentation for Chinese
users. The effort of translating it does not reach many of our end users who
searched the website for help. Whether there is something me as a translator
can do, or it is in fact a configuration issue of Sphinx, help is greatly
appreciated.

That's really good.

I'm afraid it's possible to suffer from the same effect through other runners.
It doesn't seem to be possible to execute a file from the "Desktop search"

But the "Locations" runner does execute the .desktop file

[dolphin] [Bug 419318] New: Click and drag scroll doesn't work when mouse leaves scrollbar

2020-03-27 Thread george fb
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419318

Bug ID: 419318
Summary: Click and drag scroll doesn't work when mouse leaves
scrollbar
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: georgefb...@gmail.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127056
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127056=edit
dolphin click and drag scroll behavior

SUMMARY
When clicking the scroll bar **handle** I can drag it up and down
and it moves/scrolls with the mouse no matter where the cursor is.

But there is an area on the scroll bar that, when clicked,
it is only possible to scroll when the cursor is over the scroll bar.
If the cursor leaves the scroll bar the scrolling pauses,
but it resumes scrolling when the scroll bar is entered again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open dolphin maximized
2. Move cursor all the way to the right
3. Click and drag while over the scroll,
cursor must be inline with the scroll handle
4. While still clicking move cursor between the view and scroll bar

OBSERVED RESULT
Scrolling pauses when cursor leaves scroll bar.

EXPECTED RESULT
Scrolling keeps working no matter where the cursor is.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200325
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This happens in other applications too,
but I don't know where else to report it.

[plasmashell] [Bug 419310] Kickoff (also maybe for alternative menus too): Security concerns

2020-03-27 Thread Gabriel Fernandes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419310

In dolphin we have 3 options.
1. You have a popup that asks you what you want to do (open or execute)
2. Set open as default, so always when you click an executable the file is
opened with a default application (kate, let's say)
3. Execute without asking.

Let's say you have second option set in dolphin, so one time, you clicked the
file, it just got open in the text editor, fine, secure.
If that file pops up in krunner/kickoff, it will only get executed, there's no
the same safety mechanism dolphin has (the 2 first options).
This kinda deceives you, as you don't expect the different behavior (you are
certain you won't execute any untrusted executable from dolphin because of the
safest options, but you might be tricked by the launcher to execute something
you opened once to inspect what's in there)

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419310

Fix itself is pretty straightforward: https://phabricator.kde.org/P566

Generally there's not too much we can do against the .desktop situation
(without also breaking things), but in this case it maybe makes sense given we
know the context is recent documents.

>open the file to have it as a recent file when you search using kickoff or
>krunner,

But then it's been already run? Unless the user does "open with" the first
time.

I don't yet understand why it's different from the typical dolphin + executable
desktop file case? If anything it's more convoluted as the user has to open
the file twice.

Oh sorry. I just didn't want to duplicate myself, in this case triplicate (also
another report for krunner product).

It doesn't work if the file have a common extension, as png, if you name it
"file.png." for example, open the file to have it as a recent file when you
search using kickoff or krunner, when you enter the file it will get executed.

Hi Thomas. Sorry, missed this earlier.

Tested the linked version. Issues:

a) Typo in dialog text ("The current entry has been modified. Do you want do
discard your changes?") -- should be "to discard"

b) Behavior for Esc and Cancel differs after editing a text field: Esc closes
w/o dialog, losing changes; Cancel correctly raises the dialog.

c) Similarly, behavior for Esc and Cancel differs after adding/removing/editing
a text field (e.g. Author or External): Esc closes, losing changes; Cancel
raises dialog

d) Changes to a Plain Text/Reference/Source Code dropdown menu are saved
whether the user hit Ok, Cancel, or Esc -- they can't be discarded

e) Setting a checkbox (e.g. "et al"), Esc saves rather than discards; Cancel
correctly raises dialog

f) Clearing a checkbox, Esc discards and doesn't raise dialog; Cancel correctly
raises dialog

So, in general, Esc and Cancel are working differently -- presumably they
should have the same behavior. Then for that 1 type of pulldown field,
Esc/Cancel aren't discarding. And when turning on (but not turning off) a
checkbox, Esc acts like OK, but Cancel raises a dialog.

Summary: digiKam displays "Lens: unavailable" for all lenses
used on Canon EOS M6 Mark II camera
   Product: digikam
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
My cameras are a Canon EOS 80D and a Canon EOS M6 Mark II, both of which are
listed at digikam.org as a compatible cameras. I have .CR2 and.CR3 RAW files,
respectively, taken with those cameras using a "Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L
IS USM" lens. When the 80D and M6ii RAW files are viewed in Lightroom, BOTH
display the lens model correctly. Likewise, ExifTool displays the correct lens
model from each file. However, digiKam displays the lens model ONLY for the 80D
RAW file. For the M6ii RAW file, it displays "Lens: unavailable". In fact,
"Lens: unavailable" is always displayed for M6ii RAW files for every lens I
have used, even those contained in the Lensfun files.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Display the Album list in digiKam
2. Find an album that contains a .CR3 RAW file from a Canon EOS M6 Mark II
camera.
3. Select that RAW file.

OBSERVED RESULT
In Properties > Photographic Properties in the right panel, digiKam displays
"Lens: unavailable".

EXPECTED RESULT
Properties > Photographic Properties should display "Lens: ".

Edit: my reply was maybe a little curt.

I see now you are probably the original reporter, which helps.

In any case. Please do paste copy and paste inline. Partly for prosperity, and
partly because I don't want to have to copy text from an image..

Also I'm not sure I understand from the information given.

I created a file called test.png. It was really .desktop file with an Exec line

I open in dolphin, it tries to open gwenview despite "file.png" showing the
magic header as being ascii text.

[dolphin] [Bug 419315] New: on logout, each dolphin window with multiple tabs raises a confirmation dialog

2020-03-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419315

Bug ID: 419315
Summary: on logout, each dolphin window with multiple tabs
raises a confirmation dialog
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: glyphi...@gmail.com

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When attempting to log out from KDE, each Dolphin window w/ multiple tabs
raises a dialog requiring the user to confirm he wants to quit. Logout doesn't
complete until the dialogs are dismissed. This behavior makes sense when the
user attempts to close a Dolphin window, but not when logging out -- Plasma
preserves application windows/state across sessions.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a Dolphin window
2. Open a 2nd tab
3. Try to log out from KDE

OBSERVED RESULT

The Dolphin window raises a confirmation prompt ("You have multiple tabs open
in this window, are you sure you want to quit?").

EXPECTED RESULT

The Dolphin window doesn't raise a confirmation prompt.

2020-03-27 Thread Lars Grüter

Bug ID: 419311
Summary: Telegram's monochrome system tray icon should follow
Plasma Style instead of Color Scheme
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 5.18.3
  Platform: Manjaro

Status: REPORTED

Created attachment 127052

Telegram's system tray icon with Plasma Style "Breeze Dark" and Color Scheme
"Breeze Light"

The recent update https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417583 introduced
monochrome system tray icons for Telegram. Whether the dark or bright one is
chosen seems to depend on the current color scheme. However I use a bright
color scheme together with a dark Plasma style. This seems to result in the
wrong system tray icon being chosen which in this case is the dark one that is
barely visible on the dark panel (see attachment). When I temporarily set a
dark color scheme and restart Telegram the bright monochrome icon is chosen
which I is more easily visible.

This is my first time interacting with this bug tracker and I apologize if I
missed some guide line, related issue or if this is entirely the wrong place. I
am happy to address any questions or feedback.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In System Settings > Plasma Style: set Plasma style to a dark theme, e.g.
"Breeze Dark"
2. In System Settings > Colors: set color scheme to a bright one, e.g. "Breeze
Light"
3. Close and restart Telegram

OBSERVED RESULT
The dark monochrome icon is displayed for Telegram's system tray which is
barely visible on the dark background.

EXPECTED RESULT
The bright monochrome icon should be chosen to achieve a higher contrast to the
background.

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This is realy strange and sad: Kate is porly integrated with KDE desktop:
settings keyboard from the desktop are entirely ignored. Even disable shortcuts
in Kate does not cause using system settigns! I am realy fan about KDE but such
pitfals are pure compromitation.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Try define in KDE Settigns: CTRL+TAB short cut for "Next tab" and
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB as "Previous tab" - this is standard in browsers and editors
word wide!!!
2. Then try to force Kate to respect this settings.
3. Then you can even try sets the same shortcuts in Kate.
4. Then: GOOD LUCK!

OBSERVED RESULT
Kate ignore system defined shortcuts. And report conflicts when try to define
the same shortcuts in Kate shortcut editor.

EXPECTED RESULT
Load system defined keyboard shortcuts at first start and use them as default.
Alow to customize these default settings without pure nonsense "there are
ambigous shortcut conflicts" - or: report exaclty what settings cause problem.

I think it does. There is an option in settings which says align partitions
along MB boundaries. I think it is enabled by default.

There are other similar apps with AUR support (pamac, octopi, kalu, ...).
I think that it is very important for Arch users

I had the same problem. Can you try to leave 1 mb empty before the new
partition? That seems to be the trick for partitionmanager to not give an error
when creating a new partition.

I don't know why partitionmanager doesn't do this automatically.

[kmymoney] [Bug 419186] photoTAN does not work with aquabanking

2020-03-27 Thread Thomas Baumgart
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419186

There's no need to try that. The versions on
https://binary-factory.kde.org/job/KMyMoney_Release_win64/ do not contain
AqBanking so they are of no help. And lately, they don't include OFX as well
since the windows build does not find it (even though it is there).

Why don't we have a newer version? We don't have a maintainer who takes care of
the windows versions consistently. So the current SLA for windows is 'best
effort'.

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||mal...@w4eg.de

This still happens on Debian Buster with kile 2.9.92.

It seems to be related to a DBUS setting the
/usr/share/applications/org.kde.kile.desktop file.

Workaround:

1. cp /usr/share/applications/org.kde.kile.desktop
~/.local/share/applications/org.kde.kile.desktop

2. In the file ~/.local/share/applications/org.kde.kile.desktop change
"X-DBUS-StartupType=Multi" to "X-DBUS-StartupType=none". Deleting this line
should also work.

3. Log out and back in.

(Editing /usr/share/applications/org.kde.kile.desktop directly is also possible
of course, but needs root and is probably not recommended.)

[krita] [Bug 419306] New: Advanced color selector not closing on keyboard inputs

2020-03-27 Thread Wojciech Trybus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419306

Bug ID: 419306
Summary: Advanced color selector not closing on keyboard inputs
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.2.9
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Color Selectors
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: wojt...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Pressing keyboard keys don't close the advanced color selector pop-up. Actions
assigned to them are being performed instead.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open color selector (shift+i)
2. try to close it with any key with action assigned to it

OBSERVED RESULT
The pop-up can be closed with unassigned keys, and those acting as modifiers
(ctrl, shift, v...), and by assigned keys, if actions cannot be done (undo with
nothing left in undo stack, or deselect if nothing is selected). Otherwise
those actions are performed without closing the pop-up.

EXPECTED RESULT
Pop-up closed with any keyboard input.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reproduced on Windows 10. Regression occurred in Krita 4.2.9. Beta release was
working well.

[plasmashell] [Bug 419245] plasmashell process crash

2020-03-27 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419245

 New crash happened <<<

I did not update anything since last crash (all packages are up-to-date in
stable branch in Manjaro Linux).

Core dump compressed and attached to this letter.

What I've done:
Removed notes widget from desktop. Select several items with mouse (rectangle
selection) and move their position on desktop (not location as path, just icon
position). After it select 2 item with mouse selection rectangle and pressed
Ctrl+X to cut 2 items and saw that all icons disappeared and panels gone. 2
seconds and they are re-appeared on the desktop. I saw that just desktop
background image was not re-loaded: it was always present on the screen.

May be working with desktop widgets: moving position/adding/removing cause to
crash plasmashell.

According to AMD developers:

> The kernel driver and mesa support the necessary OpenGL robustness extensions

So there is some disconnect here, or possibly bugs either in KWin usage of the
reset logic or in kernel/Mesa.

It can be very difficult to look through (see attachment).
