[lattedock] [Bug 419659] New: Need help troubleshooting badge counter notifications in latte-dock.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419659 Bug ID: 419659 Summary: Need help troubleshooting badge counter notifications in latte-dock. Product: lattedock Version: git (master) Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com Reporter: unmonito...@jonathanchun.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Clarification/Help wanted on troubleshooting badge counter indicators in latte-dock. All of my research ends up pointing me towards the "Unity Launcher API", but whenever I try to search for that API with regards to KDE I'm drawing mostly blanks. Could we get an authoritative answer on whether latte-dock supports it, and if it doesn't, what API DOES it support for getting badge counter notifications to work? Screenshot of badge counter just so everyone is clear what I'm talking about: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/523210/58916011-bf527200-8722-11e9-95cf-201584345743.png Here are some threads I looked at: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/3387 https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/issues/4554 https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/6z015m/badge_notification_feature_of_unity_comes_to_the/ Here is a related bug I found, but restarting didn't fix it for me: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396963 I know that latte-dock supports badge counters, but I'm just having trouble figuring out how and what API controls it. Here's what I've found out so far. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have 3 distros ready. KDE Neon 18.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04 1. Install Telegram from snap store. 2. Install discord from .deb file (0.0.10) 2a. It is important that it is installed from .deb. I couldn't reproduce the same results installing from snap store. 3. Install mailspring from .deb file (1.7.4) 3a. For Ubuntu 20.04, needed to follow https://github.com/Foundry376/Mailspring/issues/1880 to install mailspring 3b. For Ubuntu 18.04/20.04, needed to follow https://github.com/Foundry376/Mailspring/issues/420 (sudo mv /usr/share/applications/mailspring.desktop /usr/share/applications/Mailspring.desktop). OBSERVED RESULT Please refer to below table of results of whether I was able to get badge counters displayed or not after applying any relevant fixes documented above^ https://gist.github.com/Jonchun/686db25d9a815f35ce52bcb3c8863cbf EXPECTED RESULT I was hoping it would work for all of them. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 20.04, KDE Neon 18.04, Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 (Only listed the highest version from KDE Neon. [kmymoney] [Bug 419656] New: KMyMoney embedded GPG version out of date, does not support non-embedded version
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419656 Bug ID: 419656 Summary: KMyMoney embedded GPG version out of date, does not support non-embedded version Product: kmymoney Version: 5.0.6 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: file Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: veperr-kde...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Two related issues (can split into separate bug reports if desired): 1) The version of GPG (2.0.22) included with KMyMoney (current release 5.0.6) was deemed End of Life on December 31, 2017, per: https://www.gnupg.org/download/index.html 2) KMyMoney will not work with current versions of Gpg4win (the official supported full version of GPG for Windows), instead it only works with the out of date embedded version of GPG. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KMyMoney (kmymoney5-mingw64-5.0.6-8.1-setup.exe) on Windows 10 2. Install Gpg4win (Gpg4win 3.1.11) on Windows 10 3. Try to use Kleopatra (a component of Gpg4win) to manage Key Pairs per the Gpg4win instructions. OBSERVED RESULT KMyMoney will not recognize keypairs generated via Kleopatra (and thus generated by the underlying gpg.exe version 2.2.19.7300 installed by Gpg4win). Using the embedded (but out of date) version of gpg that came with KMyMoney works, but this is really bad to have to use security software that is over two years beyond end of life. EXPECTED RESULT 1) Version of gpg embedded in KMyMoney should be a currently supported version 2) KMyMoney should also (and preferentially) support using a non-embedded version of GPG, namely the version recommended on the GPG website (https://www.gnupg.org/index.html), in those cases where people have installed the current version of GPG (Gpg4Win) separately. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: Windows 10, x64, 10.0.18362 Build 18362 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Both the homepage of the GPG website: https://www.gnupg.org/index.html and the download page: https://www.gnupg.org/download/index.html Reference Gpg4Win as the "Full featured Windows version of GnuPG". This is why I believe KMyMoney should preferentially work with that version when installed, and when it is not, then fall back to the version embedded with KMyMoney (but that version to should be a version that is officially supported). I ranked the severity as major as it's an out of date security component. Thank you, veperr -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ktorrent] [Bug 419643] New: KTorrent shows alert dialog when file is missing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419643 Bug ID: 419643 Summary: KTorrent shows alert dialog when file is missing Product: ktorrent Version: 5.1 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com Reporter: halftough...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When seeding file has been deleted KTorrent informs user by showing popup dialog. This it fine, but perhaps it would be better to show notification instead. This would be would be much less invasive, flexible and consistent with other errors. Advantage of keeping popup dialog is the fact that it allows user to instantly pick action (redownload, pick new location, ignore), so project manager should decide which solution is better. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Seed a torrent 2. Delete files while still seeding 3. Wait for dialog to show up -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kalarm] [Bug 419639] New: Random crash when triggering audio alarm
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419639 Bug ID: 419639 Summary: Random crash when triggering audio alarm Product: kalarm Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: sound Assignee: djar...@kde.org Reporter: yule2...@live.com Target Milestone: --- KAlarm would crash randomly but infrequently when it triggers an audio alarm. After I re-ran KAlarm from the terminal (e.g. Konsole), it turns out that the crash was caused by an assertion error with Pulseaudio. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a recurring audio alarm 2. Wait patiently until KAlarm refuses to play the alarm and crashes OBSERVED RESULT KAlarm crashed silently at the exact moment when it should be playing the alarm. This occurred around 10% of the time, probably at least once a week on my end. Otherwise, the alarm played as usual. Since I had Dr. Konqi installed, the crash would also cause its window to appear, but when running KAlarm from the terminal, it would just crash silently, i.e. the Dr. Konqi window doesn't appear. Either way, Dr. Konqi would fail to get a stack trace from the crash. EXPECTED RESULT Alarm plays as usual, and KAlarm does not crash. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KAlarm version: 2.13.3, Akonadi version Linux: Kernel version 5.5, Manjaro distro KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.14.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The alarm used for reproducing the crashes had its occurrence set to every hour. Because I run my computer 24/7 with occasional reboots at least weekly for updates, I set the alarm to run only during working hours, which was set in the app settings to 8am-11pm every day. When I reproduced the crash, my computer was already playing music from another app without any issues. In my case, I was playing music from Spotify through its official desktop app. I've also encountered this crash weekly since around two months ago, when I had Plasma 5.17 and an older version of Frameworks installed. journalctl logs: Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro audit[10147]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=2 subj==unconfined pid=10147 comm="threaded-ml" exe="/usr/bin/kalarm" sig=6 res=1 Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro kernel: audit: type=1701 audit(1586017440.072:152): auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=2 subj==unconfined pid=10147 comm="threaded-ml" exe="/usr/bin/kalarm" sig=6 res=1 Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro akonadiserver[1566]: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Subscriber "kalarm-48271 - 94270372983040" disconnected Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro audit[1]: SERVICE_START pid=1 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 subj==unconfined msg='unit=systemd-coredump@1-45471-0 comm="systemd" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro kded5[1135]: Service ":1.226" unregistered Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro kernel: audit: type=1130 audit(1586017440.082:153): pid=1 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 subj==unconfined msg='unit=systemd-coredump@1-45471-0 comm="systemd" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' Apr 04 10:24:00 manjaro systemd[1]: Started Process Core Dump (PID 45471/UID 0).
