Indeed Nate!
I played a bit and the setting is caused by my VPN to another time zone. I
switched to manual time zone in Nightlight now and the issue seems resolved.
Although this makes me feel a little stupid I will continue trying to create
good bug reports :-)

Oh it works! Great! Thank you.

But still, I think it's a bug or a missing feature. Most often I open epub
files and then I just save it on the same filename, or change the prefix. But I
would never come up with the idea to call the suffix .okular. There is no
information I am supposed to do so.

Oops you’re right, that’s what is being said in the link to the w3 website in

Now that it has been triaged into the frameworks-kio, I can see the file is

Yes this is the same problem as BUG 415985 but with the GUTENPrint driver (.PPD

[krita] [Bug 420342] Transparency colour not saved

2020-04-21 Thread Rudolf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420342

Hello Boudewijn,

Thank you very much for your explanation. I use both in different Linux
versions but I mostly use the appimage 4.2.9. On macOS I even use 4.3.0.
. It doesn't make much difference to me. Well, the whole issue came up
since I had a strange problem with Krita I couldn't recreate. It
probably occurs when I use the soft eraser on a 8-bit grey-scale image
with transparent background. All my images on this project, over 300 and
increasing are meant to be on a transparent background for the later
page design. And in some occasions a soft grey or white shade appears on
the saved picture which is invisible in Krita. In some earlier cases
this shade was grey which was even more disturbing. Therefor I started
to change the background to 'white-transparent'. I found this out in
MacOS where the color quite childishly and typical Mac is chosen by way
of coloring pencils. So to avoid the grey shade which appeared in some
cases, became white... until I found out that this choice wasn't saved.
Nonetheless sometimes the shade was grey and sometimes it was white
(when I choose the white background transparency). This I could only see
in either other pixel programs or in de icon in the file manager. In
Linux I always use dark or even black themes and then those pictures
with the 'fussy' background stick out. When I load the picture again,
select the transparent background and delete it, then the background
shading is gone afterwards.

This figure should have a transparent background and had it through the
whole procedure of making but once saved, the background is white,
transparency gone. Reloading it in Krita, the background indeed appears
to be white and when I check the background color, Krita is telling me
that it is black and 100% transparent. I find this a bit frustrating.
What I doe in a case like this: I load the picture again, select the
background and delete it. After saving the thing it is OK.

I use Krita because of the brushes. No program has these nice 'brushly'
brushes. And I don't want to use Photoshop because everybody does and
Adobe is a shitty company, like Corel, another shitty company.

I will continue using Krita but now, when I save the picture, I have the
file manager open next to it to see how the picture is saved and when a
background is visible I delete it in the picture and save it again.

Well, thanks again. Keep healthy and distant.

Best regards,

Rudolf Kahl

1) Yes Kedit and Kwrite print text files correctly.

2) I tried to attachment requested /etc/cups/ppd/hpdeskjet1120c.ppd but got
a server error. Will try again.

3) The /var/log/cups/error_log will be attached once it works again.

Kirigami.Cards take significantly longer than before to construct than before.

For reference, creating 100 blank cards before
e770b0ddd2af7fc861be45044476b4fa062ccc1d takes about 0.5 seconds. With
e770b0ddd2af7fc861be45044476b4fa062ccc1d, construction takes 2 seconds.

In real world applications, both Kirigami Gallery and Ikona have significant
slowdown due to the performance regression of the cards. Ikona is hit
especially hard, as what was a previously 0.5 second operation involving cards
ends up freezing the application for 15+ seconds.

I would say the stack trace is the same as in bug 418730. It looks like a "The
Wayland connection broke. Did the Wayland compositor die?" issue.

There are other issues mentioning this: bug 378708 and bug 392376. But
unfortunately it looks like it's not getting a lot of attention.

In my experience:

- 4.2.9 works mostly fine, there are, very rarely, cases that it doesn't work
(I would blame it on my tablet, tbh, if I haven't read here that it happens
sometimes for you as well and that it just worsened with every new build)

- 4.3.0 prealpha 3f0ff1a (December 28th?) - it switches or not, seems random,
but it's working ~30-40% of times

- 4.3.0 prealpha 030e384 (April 22th) - it *never* works correctly. Right now
it never switches the eraser mode if the picked color is equal to the previous
one. Hence I'm setting it to regression, because 4.2.9 works just fine for me
(well, much *finer*). The difference in usage is huge.

Linux Mint 19.3 with Cinnamon, I used appimages.

I also have this problem. It is very annoying. One could workaround this by
executing the corresponding xsetwacom set … command, but this is not very
practicabel.

One way to solve this would be to add a checkbox "always use the
touchscreen/peninput as input for screen $SCREEN", which would be a viable
solution, especially for 2-in-1 devices. Also for regular wacom-pads this would
be a good solution, because their users simply don't activate that checkbox and
thus they get their wanted behaviour.

Yakuake not showing up on the upper display

I was looking for an open bug report and confirm that this issue still
persists.

Reproduce: Dual monitors stacked on top of each other as in the attachment. No
problems whatsoever when I use the panel on the bottom of my primary display
(below display), but problem appears when I move my panel to the top of my
primary display. Yakuake fails to open under this condition.

[digikam] [Bug 420403] New: Delete does not always move all files to trash

2020-04-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420403

Bug ID: 420403
Summary: Delete does not always move all files to trash
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-Trash
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: madal...@sharklasers.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

While removing a large number of temporary tif files from several album
directories I noticed that not all of the files were always deleted.

The process I was using to delete the files was to use a filter to display only
tif files, selecting them all, hitting the Del key, and then selecting Move to
Trash in the popup that was displayed. I did this in a number of folders and
each time the pattern was very similar. It was rare that all files were
deleted, often 2 or 3 remained and a "Could not move image xxx to collection
trash" error was reported in a popup for each file that was not deleted.

On repeating the delete on the files that were not deleted, sometimes they
would then be deleted, but more often than not, one would be left that could
not be deleted even with many attempts.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
This problem does not always occur, but I have seen in on a number of occasions
now, and was always doing this:

1. Turn on filtering by file type
2. Select all filtered files
2. Hit Del key
3. Select Move to Trash in popup
4. Some files are not moved to trash and digiKam reports a "Could not move
image xxx to collection trash" error in a popup
5. Repeat Delete
6. Some more files may be deleted, the final file cannot often not be deleted.

OBSERVED RESULT

Sometimes not all of the files are deleted

EXPECTED RESULT

All files should always be deleted.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
digiKam Version: 7.0.0-beta2
Windows: Windows 10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.65
Qt Version: 5.14.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I spent some time looking into this, but there was noting that I could see that
differentiated that file that could not be deleted from any others, there were
not definitely not any permissions errors.

I also noticed that I could not move the file to another directory/album in
digiKam and I got the same error when I tried.

More interestingly during later investigation of a single incident, I also
noticed that I could not delete the file from Windows Explorer either, as it
said that "digiKam had the file open".

Even more interestingly, when I quit cleanly out of digiKam (view browse =>
quit) the file was still locked!!! Then I noticed that digiKam was still
running in the background and had not terminated cleanly (note that I only ever
had one copy of digiKam visibly running at a time).

This issue was not limited to this one occasion, it happened a number of times
on previous days as well.

Once I cleaned up the rogue process, the file could be deleted without any
issues, so potentially the digiKam process may have been been getting itself
into an unexpected state during the delete operations?

[okular] [Bug 420402] New: Window keeps opening up in annoying position off-screen

2020-04-21 Thread Ryan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420402

Bug ID: 420402
Summary: Window keeps opening up in annoying position
off-screen
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.9.2
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rj.amdphr...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Window keeps opening up in the exact same position no matter where I left the
window when I closed it before. It also opens up near the bottom right corner
of the screen, with almost half of the document off-screen. This is a very
basic thing to correct in code. It should remember its position or assume a
more logical hard-coded default.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open up Okular or launch a document with it.

OBSERVED RESULT
Window is in bottom right corner.

EXPECTED RESULT
Window is in a logical place.

Your test image tested with digiKam-7.0.0-Beta3, the face rectangle is
displayed correctly.

https://files.kde.org/digikam/

If you use the Beta3, you need to re-read the metadata from these images with
activated function to clean up the database. Future image imports will work
without problems.

SUMMARY
The displayed face region bounding boxes are incorrect for photos with
Orientation != Horizontal. The image is not rotated before the bounding box is
applied, thus the box is in the wrong location.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Import a photo that has existing face regions populated and has Orientation

2. Hover over the image and find the bounding box.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Notice that the bounding box is not in the correct location.

EXPECTED RESULT
The image shall be rotated according to the Orientation field prior to drawing
the bounding box so that the box will be in the proper location.

[digikam] [Bug 420400] New: Emptying Trash does not provide any feedback that it is active/running

2020-04-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply

   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Albums-Trash
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: madal...@sharklasers.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

With a few thousand 130Mb files in the digiKam trash folder, I selected Delete
=> All Items Permanently, and hit "yes" to start the process. Nothing seemed to
happen as there was no feedback (that I could see) of any kind.

At this point I assumed that it had not initiated the delete and tried again,
with no result.

About a minute later the original "empty trash operation" finished, but during
that time I had no idea if the delete was active, or if something had gone
wrong.

I am not sure quite why deleting around 2000 files from a local SSD drive
should have taken so long, but ultimately thats not the primary issue here,
although it is obviously related.

The real issue was that there was no feedback to indicate that the "empty
trash" operation was in progress. Shouldn't there be some kind of feedback when
an operation is active?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Delete a large number of large files
2. Got to digiKam Trash
3. Selected Delete => All Items Permanently => yes

OBSERVED RESULT

No indication that a delete was in progress

EXPECTED RESULT

An indication that a delete was in progress

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10
digiKam Version: 7.0.0-beta2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I don't believe that there were any other active digiKam processes active when
I ran into this issue.

[digikam] [Bug 420398] New: Install icon elongated

2020-04-21 Thread Vivek
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420398

Bug ID: 420398
   Summary: Install icon elongated
   Product: digikam
   Version: 6.4.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: vivek...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 127759
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=127759&action=edit
Screenshot showing digikam installed screen with large, elongated scaling of
digikam image

SUMMARY
On the Windows 64-bit installer, the large digikam icon image of a camera lens
appears elongated or lopsided because it is scaled to be "longer" vertically
than "wider" horizontally. See attached image.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download MS Windows 64-bit installer
2. Commence installation
3. Look at icon / take screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT
Digikam's large camera lens icon appears elongated, which can have a small,
nearly imperceptible negative effect on user opinion of software quality.

EXPECTED RESULT
Digikam's large camera lens icon should appear circular, just like the smaller
"program" icon in the top left of the attached screenshot.

[i18n] [Bug 420396] New: Sugerencia de traducción para el modulo de conexiones de red

2020-04-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420396

Bug ID: 420396

   Product: i18n

  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: kde-l10n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

insuficiente.

Oh, I see you reverted the patch and I just hadn't rebuilt the kconfigwidgets
framework yet. Now that I have, the problem in Spectacle disappears, so that
patch did in fact cause this issue, just like I said.

Thanks for reverting it pending further discussion regarding how we integrate
it. I'm sorry the feature's review process was frustrating, but there's no
reason to be spiteful about it.
