Yes, It seems like GNOME specific. Actually it was existing for 4 years in

and then opening Krita in XFCE, it seems I was wrong for 4 years now!

I understand why is that. You don't see the scan happening in the background
and you want your AP to appear as soon as possible. However, the way it is
implemented now, you will actually get it as soon as possible. You might just
think it was because you pressed the button.

[okular] [Bug 424224] New: Accidental zoom to 1600% is untolerably slow

2020-07-14 Thread raoknz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424224

Bug ID: 424224
Summary: Accidental zoom to 1600% is untolerably slow
   Product: okular
   Version: 1.3.3
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: rao...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Okular 1.3.3 viewing PDF files under Ubuntu 18.04

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Do something with keyboard or mouse BY ACCIDENT.  I have no idea what it is;
I am certainly not trying to Zoom and sometimes am trying to switch to another
program. This may perhaps involve the mouse wheel, but I am not sure. Do this
while viewing a book of say 100 pages or more.

2. Okular interprets this as a request to zoom to 1600%. There is no way to
configure the Zoom drop box to restrict the zoom range.

3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Suddenly, out of the blue, the Zoom box displays 1600% and the computer locks
up for several minutes. You cannot interrupt the process. I have a 2-core
laptop and a 4-core laptop and on both of them the whole machine seizes up:
music and videos stop playing or stutter to a stop, nothing else responds, the
mouse may not track.

EXPECTED RESULT

[kwin] [Bug 424223] New: Impossible to click on the taskbar to bring up Dota 2 after a recent update

2020-07-14 Thread Martin Roth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424223

Bug ID: 424223
Summary: Impossible to click on the taskbar to bring up Dota 2
after a recent update
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.19.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: captain_r...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Presumably after a recent system upgrade on Arch Linux (running using
predominantly standard and default settings of KDE and Plasma) it isn't
possible to click on Dota 2 in the taskbar / panel to bring the game back up.
The game launches as normal, however, and once started, the edge effect and
tile windows effect don't work (maybe starting Dota 2 disables that part of the
compositor).
Disabling the compositor (using alt-shift-F12) prior to launching the game
doesn't help; the bug persists. The only way to get back into the game is to
alt-tab to the Dota 2 window, or hover the Dota 2 taskbar icon and click on the
preview image (which always shows the icon of the game, and no live preview).
Also, when the finding and queuing a game, the game gets minimized (when a
match is found a desktop notification was normally shown on the desktop, but
when the game was active nothing special happened, but now when the game is
active it gets minimized, which is not supposed to happen).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Dota 2 (default settings, full screen)
2. Alt-tab or press the "show desktop" hotkey
3. Click on the Dota 2 icon on the taskbar / panel

OBSERVED RESULT
A momentary flash appears, but the view of the desktop remains. The game is not
brought up

EXPECTED RESULT
Bring up Dota 2 in full-screen when clicking on the taskbar / panel

[plasmashell] [Bug 375951] locally integrated menus

Do we really need a title at all? Most multi-document apps today are tabbed
anyways, so we have the document title in the tab bar. And it's pretty clear
which application is which by just looking at it's appearance. Why duplicate
the title in the decoration when we already have it in the task bar?

I already made my decoration "title" bar as small as possible because I'm
rarely interested in what the title is - and I can already drag most windows by
dragging from some blank space in the window.

I'm not even sure if classical menu items should be in a title bar at all: It's
not too easy to point at them unless the window is maximized (because then the
mouse pointer would stop at the top of the screen). So menu bars should be at
the top of the screen and change when I switch the window. I'm seeing the
"title" bar to be more useful for items like some often used functions of the
application (the core function if you want so). And by eliminating the menu
from it completely, there'd also be space for a document title.

But yes, if menu items right within the window should be the way to go, I'd
rather see the expanded list of items across the decoration instead of a title,
and instead of hiding away possibly important menu items in a hamburger menu. I
consider the application title or document title the least important thing to
have in the decoration, as usually that's duplicated to the task bar and tab
bars anyways. But that's probably not true for all applications.

The current miniature hamburger menu is just a pita to use - did you ever try
to click it without precise targeting the mouse pointer at it? A temporary
solution could be to make the hamburger icon just a real button that says
"Menu" or "Application Name".

PS: I almost stopped using menu bars. Either using keyboard shortcuts or avoid
using such applications. However, that's not always possible. And for some
reason most GTK apps ignore it anyways and show a menu bar - if at least that
would be colored like the decorations... May I still dream? ;-)

Git commit cc273e4985c42f940c60908be6d02ed47554652e by Agata Cacko.
Committed on 14/07/2020 at 19:36.
Pushed by tymond into branch 'master'.

Fix crash on curve adjustment filter in CMYK document

Before this commit, Krita will crash on accessing Saturation
or other "fake" channel in the curve adjustment filter dialog.
This commit fixes it.
The problem was in recent change in the PerChannelFilter,
it would access the actual channels of the color space
to set min and max of the dialog. Since Saturation isn't
a channel of the CMYK color space, it would crash.

I'm not 100% sure the code here doesn't have any more
issues but I don't know how it exactly should be written.
In any case, this commit improves the situation by setting min
and max manually in case of "fake" channels. This is consistent
with the old behaviour before dffa076018d6bf98ec0.

a) Mozilla Location services are used when using the automatic time night color
feature. KDE's data provider's geolocation module does the request

b) I opened a report a while ago which address this issue: 419677

I fully agree, that no unapparent third party requests should be made.

You can disable the third party request by manually specifiyng the location
you are at.

AkonadiConsole Query Debugger tab with failed and successful queries

I'm getting a similar error with the SQLite Akonadi backend ("UNIQUE constraint
failed"), but interestingly I was able to create a folder using AkonadiConsole.
The possible reason is that AkonadiConsole does INSERT-INSERT-SELECT-INSERT
into the CollectionMimeTypeRelation table, whereas KAddressBook tries to do
INSERT-INSERT-INSERT and fails.

2020-07-14 Thread Frans Slothouber
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424027

For the screenshit I added four parallel painting assistants.
Chose a red color from them. Then selected a blue color and
drew with the calligraphy tool (so that is the tool for step 3)

While drawing little red lines appear.
When releasing the left mouse button longer red lines appear.
They disapear when another tool is selected.

Might be a minor problem as it only only occurs when in the Display Settings
the Canvas Acceleration is turned off.
(Had turned it off by accident while working on a unit test).

I'm seeing the same behaviour, also with the Etar calendar. I get a
notification on my computer of a calendar event, close it on the computer but
let it remain on the phone, and it returns on the computer a few seconds later.
I'm not sure if it occurs with other notifications, since Etar is the only
application I run on the phone which shows persistent notifications.

[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 424216] New: Media Frame Widget Flickers on Refresh

2020-07-14 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424216

Bug ID: 424216
Summary: Media Frame Widget Flickers on Refresh
   Product: kdeplasma-addons
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Media Frame
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: genepakmyb...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The media frame widget, when loading in a folder of images, will flash white
before the image changes. I've encountered the issue with or without image
cropping done by the widget, but it will sometimes fade into a new picture just
fine (generally low res).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place Media Frame Widget onto desktop
2. Add path to folder with images (of course, this never occurs on a single
image)

OBSERVED RESULT
The image, while loading in fine, will flash white on seemingly the last frame
before the image fully fades into full opacity.

EXPECTED RESULT
I believe the expected behaviour is to just have the images fade from one to
the other without the flash.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE 20.0.3
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
