Update: It seems that 800% CPU on y-axis is not an issue, the issue is that the

Try using ksysguard which show CPU usage properly.

I upload a new screenshot showing system monitor on the left and ksysguard on

SUMMARY

If i select Okular, openning documents set external monitor brightness to %100
everytime and this is very annoying in dark places. I use only external monitor
connected to my Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620 (WHL GT2) with HDMI, and use
Wayland Session, not use internal laptop monitor.

Gnome Wayland Session, Okular 1.11.1 or other Snap or Flatpaks with same issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect external monitor from HDMI interface.
2. Open a PDF with Okular.

OBSERVED RESULT
External monitor brightness increase to %100

EXPECTED RESULT
External monitor brightness remain same.

2020-11-07 Thread Paul Floyd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428716

It's simple to build:

gcc -g -o smchash smchash.c

Running it is a bit more complicated. You need to generate in input file to
test first, say something like this

../../vg-in-place --trace-notabove=1 --trace-flags=1000
--vex-guest-chase=no pwd 2>&1 | grep Guest > hash.in

Then the test tool can be run

./smchash < hash.in

I don't really understand the stats generated.

Finally, cppcheck is probably being a bit pessimistic. 'read_one' is called
from a while loop from apply_to_all that already checks !feof.

This makes sense, you're resetting the whole search bar, not just the content

If you think this should be different I'll happily change this to a wishlist

Summary: Titlebar menu is shown in separate window on Wayland
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.19.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

 Component: Global Menu
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de

CC: mvourla...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

I'm finally testion KWin Wayland as my daily driver but the titlebar menus I
use are not behaving as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add Application menus to Window Decorations > Titlebar Buttons
2. Click on an application menus for example in KWrite or Dolphin

OBSERVED RESULT
The menu is opened in a separate window, and the menu items are not clickable
(reset to the first item when navigated).

EXPECTED RESULT
The menu should open below the button.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I thought it was a bug from https://github.com/kwin-scripts/kwin-tiling but the
maintainer said this was probably due to the menus not marked as such.

I've just tested and selecting multiple articles will result in the last one
highlighted being displayed correctly.

As for keyboard navigation it can still be done with left/right arrow keys or
n/p for the left subscription list.

As for the mouse use I'm not able to select multiple articles with a rectangle
drawn over them so this may need to be investigated. If this is still important
to you please create a new bug report as it's a separate issue, thanks.

If you are happy I can set this to resolved if the E > B selection issue is
resolved for you as well.

Filtering out the free was enough to get the test to pass on the 3 OSes that I
tested on [Linux, Solaris and FreeBSD]. You are right that it is not necessary
for the test, and I'll add malloc to the filter.

I want to keep the prereq because in theory someone could be building with a
very old GCC that does not support -fsized-deallocation.

The test is currently amd64 specific. The signature includes size_t, which is a
synonym for unsigned int on x86 (_ZdlPvj) and unsigned long on amd64 (_ZdlPvm).
That's for the scalar form of delete, there's also the array form with the same
difference. I'll move it up to memcheck/tests and add an x86 expected.

[korganizer] [Bug 428818] New: gdbus calls don't update ui appropriately, event not created on selected date

2020-11-07 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428818

Bug ID: 428818
Summary: gdbus calls don't update ui appropriately, event not
created on selected date
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.15.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: d...@rhoatech.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I'm attempting to use some gdbus calls for initiating the new event dialog on a
specific date. The UI does not update when launched with some gdbus calls, and
openEventEditor does not create a new event on the selected date.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch korganizer with:

$ gdbus call --session --dest=org.kde.korganizer --object-path=/Calendar
--method=org.kde.Korganizer.Calendar.goDate "(2020,12,31)" && gdbus call
--session --dest=org.kde.korganizer --object-path=/Calendar
--method=org.kde.Korganizer.Calendar.openEventEditor

OBSERVED RESULT
Korganizer launches, New event dialog is shown. New event is created on current
date (not selected date), Month view is not showing the correct Month from the
date selected.

EXPECTED RESULT
Korganizer launches with the correct date selected, with the Month view updated
accordingly. New event dialog has the date set to the selected date.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0
Qt Version: 5.15.1
Kernel Version: 5.9.3-zen1-1-zen
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm working on adding a feature to a calendar widget that will allow the user
double-click a date in the widget, and launch korganizer to create an event on
that date.

If there is a better method for launching the new event dialog from gdbus or
something else, please let me know.

[kwin] [Bug 428817] New: org.kde.KWin is not unregistered properly on logout

2020-11-07 Thread ivz hh
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428817

Bug ID: 428817
Summary: org.kde.KWin is not unregistered properly on logout
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: platform-x11-standalone
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: shng...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use Xrdp to connect to Fedora 33, starting KDE
2. use `busctl --user monitor org.kde.KWin`
3. in plasma-workspace-5.19.5/startkde/startplasma.cpp, in function
startPlasmaSession(), add one line
`serviceWatcher.addWatchedService(QStringLiteral("org.kde.KWin"));` to make
startplasma won't quit till org.kde.KWin is unregistered.
4. click "log out" in KDE
5. busctl process ends, last message is org.freedesktop.DBus.Local.Disconnected

OBSERVED RESULT

startkde (actually startplasma_x11) doesn't exit at all, as org.kde.KWin is
*never* unregistered. `busctl --usr list` won't find any org.kde.KWin service.

EXPECTED RESULT

Unregistration of org.kde.KWin is properly called and startkde properly exits.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 33/plasma-workspace-5.19.5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: plasma-workspace-5.19.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0-1.fc33
Qt Version: 5.15.1-5.fc3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I am debugging it for the past week. I still cannot figure out
org.freedesktop.DBus.Local.Disconnected is signalled before unregistration. I
can keep digging into this issue, but I need some help to understand this part.

Thank you!

SUMMARY

The pen pressure will not work on krita BUT will work for other applications
making it seem as though it is a bug within the program itself. I have also
tried to turn on and off the pen pressure settings within krita with no
results. I'm not sure if its because krita is incompatible with what I'm using.
I'm using the "HP ENVY x360" laptop with a "Wacom Bamboo Ink 2nd Gen Smart

OBSERVED RESULT

pen will successfully apply pen pressure in other programs but fail to do so in

EXPECTED RESULT

pen and or laptop is incompatible with krita

unexpected value
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.4.1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Resize/Scale Image/Layer
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: fs...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In "Scale Layer to new Size", if I try to scale a layer in percentage, I have
to enter the ratio of the layer size to the entire image (I want to scale it as
a percentage of the original layer size).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a new document
2. add a paint layer and draw something on it (do not fill the entire image)
3. go to "Layer" -> "Transform" -> "Scale Layer to new Size"
4. change size unit to "%"

OBSERVED RESULT
The percentage value is the ratio of the layer size to the image size.

EXPECTED RESULT
The percentage value is the ratio of layer after scaling to the original layer
size (default value is 100%).
