[dolphin] [Bug 430729] New: Add shortcut to open all subdirectory recursively
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430729 Bug ID: 430729 Summary: Add shortcut to open all subdirectory recursively Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: view-engine: details mode Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: werr...@mail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- In the Details view mode I know that when a folder is selected, I can use the left/right arrows to open or close the folder contents in the view. What I would like is to be able to to recursively open all folders under the selected folder with a single key press. It would also be useful to be able to collapse the subtree back to a single level with a keypress or alternatively close the folder and open again to a single level. Currently closing a subtree then opening restores the previous subtree. The MS-DOS XTree filemanager used the shortcuts: '+' open single level '*' recursively open all subdirs under current dir '-' close the subdirectory contents So that is one possible set of short cut keys to use. It has the advantage that all three are easily accessible on the numeric keypad. It would also be useful to be able to navigate to the next or previous directory when a subtree is open. eg A(A currently selected) | a1 | | aa1 | a2 | a3 B be able to press a key to go from A to B in one step without having to step over a1, aa1, a2, a3 or having to close the A subtree first. Also, as far as I can see, the current navigation shortcuts (arrow keys) are not documented in the Dolphin Handbook. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 426951] Digikam audio issue
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426951 --- Comment #6 from Maik Qualmann --- I cannot reproduce the behavior here under openSUSE. When I log in 2 users, the sound of the respective desktop starts after the switch and the other one stops. This is independent of digiKam, the same behavior with 2 Firfox or Chromium instances. If I start digiKam and play a video and switch to the other user / desktop, the sound stops, I can then easily play a different sound on the desktop that has been switched. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430727 Bug ID: 430727 Summary: Filter by selecting file types from list Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: bars: filter Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: werr...@mail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- I would like to be able to filter by multiple file types. There is already bug 208605 to allow entering multiple filters (I am assuming something like "*.pdf,*.epub,*.doc"). I would prefer a simpler method for selecting file types as opposed to general search terms that works as follows: 1. User clicks a button. 2. A dialog is opened showing a list of all file types in the current directory along with a check box next to each type. 3. The user selects the check boxes for each file types he wants to filter on. 4. User clicks ok and only the selected file types are displayed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasma-systemmonitor] [Bug 430726] New: Plasma-systemmonitor gives wrong information about the processes running under firejail
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430726 Bug ID: 430726 Summary: Plasma-systemmonitor gives wrong information about the processes running under firejail Product: plasma-systemmonitor Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org Reporter: sepa...@gmail.com CC: ahiems...@heimr.nl, plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- First of all, thank you for developing this application. It's been a while that I was looking for a nice graphical linux monitoring tool. I don't know whether it's a priority for you to consider firejail or not,but plasma-systemmonitor gives wrong information about programs running under firejail. It might be because of the pid-namespace in which the firejail programs reside(former KSysGuard have been doing it correctly, maybe because of the daemon "ksysguardd" running as root in the background) I think one of the main advantages of this new system-monitoring software is that it can add up the mem usage of all processes of an application, the area in which ksysguard was lacking. But it's almost useless for me as I mostly run my programs under firejail. So it would be a nice feature if it supports firejail and at the same time can show the total memory usage(I have a custom script that makes use of the "smem" tool and reports the total memory usage based on the process' PSS,and I'm sure it's the most accurate one in terms of memory usage analysis. If I manually add up the mem usage of all processes of an app shown by ksysguard, whether under firejail or not,it's almost accurate, but in plasma-systemmonitor neither "memory" nor "Private memory" works as intended for firejailed programs). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install firejail 2. Run a program like firefox under firejail by running this: "firejail firefox" 3. Compare the results shown by "plasma-systemmonitor" with this script: ``` sudo smem -t -a | grep -i firefox | awk 'NR!=1 {Total+=$(NF-1)} END {if(Total!="") {print Total/1024" MB"} }' ``` SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro 20.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.75.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430725 Bug ID: 430725 Summary: KStars Windows Cannot Install Additional Data Product: kstars Version: 3.5.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com Reporter: mountainai...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The KStars Add-on Installer, which runs when clicking the "Download extra data" button in the startup wizard, has a number of issues that prevents catalogs from being installed. This has happened on two different VMs, with slightly different results. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch a new KStars install, or launch the Startup Wizard 2. Click the Download Extra Data button 3. Attempt to install each data set. OBSERVED RESULT Some data sets cannot be installed because of a file-not-found error. Sometimes, exiting this window and clicking on the Download Extra Data button again sometimes seems to show that some of the failed catalogs installed (some, which were marked Install before, now are marked Uninstall). However, others are still marked Install, or marked Install Again. EXPECTED RESULT All catalogs should install without error, and behavior of the window should be consistent between executions. I believe this runs normally in UNIX and MacOS, so it may be a Windows-only issue. [kwin] [Bug 426585] [Wayland] Wacom tablet cursor/cross doesn't switch states properly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426585 --- Comment #2 from Thiago Sueto --- Hello, sorry for taking so long to respond. I have a bad tendency of overanalyzing/overwriting. Yes, XWayland apps don't change the cursor of the drawing tablet. Check for instance running Dolphin on X11 and running Dolphin on XWayland (with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb). Hovering the cursor over the path changes it to a text cursor on X11, on XWayland it doesn't change, that is, a plus + is shown. (That thing I wrote before: "it's always at a generic mouse state, no matter which one" is referring to a different issue that I'll record later. While a Wayland app always displays a + instead of a normal cursor, XWayland apps might mistakenly show the last cursor state instead — and not change to anything else, as mentioned above. So if it enters the XWayland app window as a text cursor, it consistently stays a text cursor. A way to test this "XWayland apps show anything other than a +" is to hover the mouse over Firefox webpage elements like hyperlinks or text fields) and then quickly hover to the XWayland app. It's not always reproducible, but it's how I found out about this bug.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I believe that you don't absolutely need admin privileges to change your own data. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/accountsservice/accountsservice/-/blob/master/data/org.freedesktop.Accounts.User.xml#L401 I just did a simple test (1): $ dbus-send --system --dest=org.freedesktop.Accounts --type=method_call --print-reply=literal /org/freedesktop/Accounts/User$UID org.freedesktop.Accounts.User.SetIconFile string:"${HOME}/avatar.png" It worked like a charm, no questions asked. By the way, the user has neither sudo privileges nor write permissions for /var/lib/AccountsService/icons. Then I did the same with a world-readable file (2): $ dbus-send --system --dest=org.freedesktop.Accounts --type=method_call --print-reply=literal /org/freedesktop/Accounts/User$UID org.freedesktop.Accounts.User.SetIconFile string:"/usr/share/sddm/faces/root.face.icon" The results are somewhat confusing: - /var/lib/AccountsService/icons/$USER (1) is still in place after (2) and is picked up by kickoff, kscreenlocker and sddm - /var/lib/AccountsService/users/$USER contains the new (2) icon path and is ignored by kickoff, kscreenlocker and sddm Plasma: 5.20.4 Frameworks: 5.77.0 AccountsService: 0.6.55 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
