[plasmashell] [Bug 427861] Sometimes desktop loses its settings (wallpaper, widgets, icons settings) after re-login
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427861 krzmb...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||krzmb...@gmail.com --- Comment #17 from krzmb...@gmail.com --- I also wanted to throw in that this is happening using X for me as well on KDE Neon. It has been an issue there for as long as I'm using it which I think is from 5.17 or something like that. I used to use a laptop with an external screen attached via HDMI. Now I am using a desktop PC with two monitors (one connected via VGA and one via HDMI). It seems that it is currently happening less frequently than it used to on my laptop though. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 431343] New: nvidia wayland looks, functions, and runs poorly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431343 Bug ID: 431343 Summary: nvidia wayland looks, functions, and runs poorly Product: kwin Version: 5.20.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dark...@nearce.com Target Milestone: --- BACKGROUND I decided to make another attempt to switch to wayland using the nvidia proprietary driver. A quick summary of my history with wayland under nvidia: - I originally filed Bug 408634 when first trying wayland via the nvidia driver. This issue has been fully resolved for me. - I then suffered from Bug 428195. This issue has also been fully resolved for me. CURRENT SITUATION The current state of Wayland under nvidia, I can now use a Wayland session without a frozen black screen or excessive CPU usage (yay). However, the experience is unbelievably bad for Fedora 34 to be suggesting switching to it as the default, to the point where I suspect there's still something fringe lingering. There are a number of bugs: - As much as 40% CPU usage on a Ryzen 3950X from kwin_wayland just moving the mouse around - Only the first kicker sub menu renders, moving the mouse to any other sub menu rerenders the previous menu - Searching with kicker results in a blank kicker regardless of time waited - Krunner is similarly unusable, with no results rendering - Artifacts from pop-overs, opening something like the calendar widget, as it disapears the center "1/8th" of the widget remains on the screen momentarily - No transparency anywhere on the desktop, everything appears as if the compositor is disabled in the X11 world - Yakuake renders uncentered, going to the left side of the current monitor - Dragging a panel around/attempting to move it to a second monitor crashes the desktop - Various things are inexplicably shaded very very dark (e.g. non-header half of notifications) - Logging out and back in only works sometimes; sometimes things just "crash", one time I was shown the fedora + motherboard manufacter plymouth screen after attempting to relogin Are these issues to be expected? (I expect not, so hopefully we can figure out why this plethora of problems is occurring :) ). [kmymoney] [Bug 430554] Account closure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430554 --- Comment #27 from jlboz --- Jack, thanks for input. As suggested I updated to KMM version 5.1-65ab93d98. It made no difference. It still behaves exactly as described in comment 22. Although you found you could close an equity in the Equity tab of the investment view, I cannot. After opening the Accounts view and the correct ledger I opened the Investment view. With the right account selected there were no equities displayed. The whole window was empty. The equities showed as subaccounts in the Accounts view but there was nothing in the investment view. Any attempt in the Accounts view to close either of them or to edit them, even opening and closing the wizard without making any changes, simply crashes the program. I have tested this multiple times. Incidentally, in this version of KMM the left hand column of icons and labels for the different views - Home, Institutions etc. - has no icon for Categories, just a label. Does not matter, but looks odd when the rest all have icons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431093 --- Comment #5 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- Created attachment 134669 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=134669=edit Mockup of 'Remove Tag' option in context menu > Let me try out the functionality in the information panel. Works for me in test systems with a small number of tags but it is pretty unwieldy when you have many hundred tags: You have to scroll through a large number of potential tags to find the one you want to remove. As this is an "edit" rather than a "remove", you are given the full list of tags so you can select as well as remove tags. It is also possible, although maybe an unusual case, that you have tags of the same name at different places in a hierarchical tag structure and have to be careful, as you scroll, to pick the correct one. Comparing 'Assign Tag' and the 'Edit' in the information panel: Can see that these work differently. 'Assign Tags' does a better job of showing 'just' the tags that have been selected but it also unwieldy unless you have organised your tags so that there are only a small number of "top level" tags. 'Assign Tags' only appears if you select a single file, so it doesn't help if you've assigned the 'wrong' tag to many files and want to remove it When I explore the Dolphin 'context menu' options, I see that there are 'services' that can be added or removed Maybe the solution is to have a 'Remove Tag' service that can be installed in parallel with 'Move to Trash' - something like the attached -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431337 Bug ID: 431337 Summary: konsole Profile Visibility Can No Longer Be Controlled, and More Of Them Appear in Menus Product: konsole Version: 20.12.0 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org Reporter: bill_way...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 134667 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=134667=edit Comparison of konsole's profile-related behavior between v20.12.0 and v20.04.2 SUMMARY After a TW update around the weekend of December 19, 2020, konsole (at version 20.12.0 as of January 8, 2021) lost the ability to set the visibility of its profiles in konsole's menus (e.g. File -> New Tab). At the same time, a larger number of profiles appears in its menus. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Ensure that konsole (and konsole-part) is at version 20.12.0 2. Run konsole and expose the menubar 3. Select Settings -> Manage Profiles... OBSERVED RESULT In the list of profiles, there is no "eye" column to control visibility in konsole menus (e.g. File -> New Tab). I have looked in vain for a replacement for this functionality. EXPECTED RESULT A column in the list of profiles (or some other way in the GUI) where I can elect to make a profile visible or not in konsole menus. I have attached a zip file showing some konsole profile-related differences between TW (konsole is at version 20.12.0 as of January 8, 2021) and Leap 15.2 (konsole is at version 20.04.2 as of January 8, 2021). The konsole_*-manage_profiles pictures show that the visibility "eye" column no longer appears and TW shows the correct number of profiles (three I created and the default Root Shell profile). Similarly, the konsole_*-new_tab and konsole_*-switch_profile pictures show the strange menu differences between the two OSes. (As an aside, the problem switching profiles using the shown menu in TW was fixed a week or so ago.) The "Favorite Profiles" section of ~/.config/konsolerc looks correct to me, and it is the same in both OSes. I'm happy to provide any additional information, files, etc., if requested. The list of profiles in the Konsole Profiles Plasma widget is correct in TW. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Please see the Handbook at https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/extragear-office/kmymoney/details.investments.securities.html#details.investments.reuse for how to do this. Given that this is discussed more than rarely, I am changing some of the fields of this bug to make it a wishlist: When the new equity wizard is run, KMM should check for whether it already exists in all cases, not only if all fields except for the Trading Symbol are blank. However, I'm not sure what the proper behavior would be if any of those other fields do not match the existing equity. I suppose the user could be prompted with a popup showing the differences, with actions of 1) use the existing values here, 2) create a new equity with these values, 3) use the existing equity with these new values, or 4) re-edit the values and check again (which would repeat this popup based on the new values, and 5) cancel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I guess that would explain why I had a hard time finding that data when making this bug report. I will send you an email with test data. If we can't automatically detect what timezone the photos are in, would it be possible to add a dropdown for selecting the timezone the photo was taken in (or at least an offset), so that I don't need to convert 6 hours into seconds manually? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431333 Tobias Leupold changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tobias.leup...@gmx.de --- Comment #1 from Tobias Leupold --- Hi, thanks for your bug report! Am I right that you geotagged the photos in another timezone compared to the timezone they have been taken in? This might cause this ... Actually, we had an extensive discussion about timezone-aware data handling in KPhotoAlbum recently. IIRC, the photo metadata doesn't normally provide a timezone (only the time itself, thus we can't know it), whereas the times of an GPX track are always stored in UTC. If so, there's no other chance than setting the offset manually. I may be wrong though. Would you be so kind to send me an example photo and an example GPX file so that I can try to reproduce this? And the correct corresponding GPX timestamp? (via email if you want) I didn't see this with my test dataset. If it's possible, the expected behavior for KGeoTag would be to calculate the right offset and preset it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kgeotag] [Bug 431333] New: Doesn't handle timezones well
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431333 Bug ID: 431333 Summary: Doesn't handle timezones well Product: kgeotag Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: tobias.leup...@gmx.de Reporter: kdeb...@iwismer.ca Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I took some photos on my camera while on a hike in Switzerland, and now when I try to tag them with a location from my GPS watch, I need to set the time offset by 6 hours to get the times to match up (I'm in a time zone 6 hours away now). I know I had my camera set to the correct time, as in dolphin it shows the time as being UTC+1, but in KGeoTag it shows the time as UTC-5. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Take photos + record GPX with timezone other than your current 2. Try to tag the photos OBSERVED RESULT you need to set an offset of the time difference between the timezones EXPECTED RESULT The timezone difference should be handled automatically SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.77.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION It seems that KGeoTag just assumes that the photo timestamps are in your local timezone, but does the conversion for the GPX track. I could be wrong though as I haven't looked into the code. Overall though, this is a really cool project and I'm now going through my photo library adding locations! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
