[Qt/KDE Flatpak Runtime] [Bug 408970] flatpak apps using Qt plug-ins get "FATAL: Cannot mix incompatible Qt library" error after KDE runtime update

2021-04-13 Thread skierpage
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408970

This happened again, I think because Flathub updating org.kde.Platform to
5.15.3. I created a Flathub issue and a KDE sysadmin phabricator ticket to
rebuild Skrooge.

If it happens to you, one workaround while waiting for the rebuild is to
downgrade the KDE+Qt runtime. From
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/552688/is-it-possible-to-roll-back-a-flatpak-update
:
  $ flatpak remote-info --log flathub org.kde.Platform//5.NNN
(e.g. ... org.kde.Platform//5.15)
and then rollback to a working Qt, e.g.
  $ sudo flatpak update
--commit=3522f785effad84e56b127dc800e2982ae4eeca621d7b12a1a26136039d452ae

I couldn't reproduce this issue.

Note that http/ftp links aren't supposed to go through FileFilterHotSpot at
all, since they're links, so UrlFilterHotspot.

Dann sollten wir "Move to Trash" also in "In den Papierkorb verschieben"
ändern.

After a great deal of snapshotting and upgrading packages in VM's I finally
found out the package, repo and the commits which introduce this behaviour.

As it turned out, it has nothing to do with KDE!

Introduced in this:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard-config/-/merge_requests/166
Will be solved in this:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard-config/-/merge_requests/190

Dude tried to improve things by breaking a very longstanding muscle memory :)

Meanwhile I'm having my own compiled package with couple of commits reverted.

Thanks for responding and trying to help.

[kdenlive] [Bug 435712] New: Audio plays too fast on long video file

2021-04-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435712

Bug ID: 435712
Summary: Audio plays too fast on long video file
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: midnightk...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a video over 20 minutes long, and while editing worked fine for the
first little bit, after that it will not play the audio correctly, it plays
sped-up audio. Only happens after 26:24 on the file I am working on. Before
then the audio plays fine. If audio is played from a point that is fine and
progresses to the sections that cannot be listened to normally, it continues
just fine, but cannot be stopped and started again without the issue. Scrubbing
also does not work on the problem sections.

This makes it impossible to edit the video after the problem point.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Audio plays too fast

EXPECTED RESULT
Audio plays at speed it is recorded at

I'm marking it as "release_blocker" because this is a somewhat important issue
- it can result in some kind of dataloss, not the loss of the project, but the
loss of recording. If you consider that people do make videos in for example
Procreate (another program that has built-in recording) for a living, then the
recording is nearly as important as the outcome (.kra project) in terms of
data.

2021-04-13 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Bug ID: 435711
Summary: Fuzzy text merged output (Hi-DPI display)
   Product: kdiff3
   Version: 1.8.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 137575
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=137575=edit
Screenshot showing just the merged output is blurry/fuzzy.

SUMMARY
In case this impacts anything, I have 2 4k Hi-DPI monitors connected to my
laptop through a TB3 dock (the laptop monitor itself is also 4k Hi-DPI). The
merge output window has blurry text whereas A/B/C windows are crisp. This
applies in 2-way & 3-way diffs.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. kdiff3 -m 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt

OBSERVED RESULT
Merged output is blurry. Additionally spaces are represented as dots (not sure
if the latter is intended - I had thought so but I also haven't found any
config option to turn it off).

EXPECTED RESULT
Text in merged output is as crisp as it is in the original content views.

Is there a way to grab the restart notification? I'd still like to suspend my

suspending if there's a pending restart so I can handle what I need to and just

usergroup.patch

I went through the code and I believe the main problem is that only the host +
port is passed to the NetworkManager-openconnect plugin that establishes the
"real" connection to the VPN. I have attached a patch (usergroup.patch) that
appends the urlpath (which is parsed as the usergroup) to the
NM_OPENCONNECT_KEY_GATEWAY secrets parameter when it's provided.

This allows the connection to be established with the pulse protocol (since it
was using the incorrect URL for the cookie). However, similar to my previous
results with the "Juniper Network Connect" protocol all network activity that's
routed through the VPN times out. My guess is there's some additional issues in
NetworkManager-openconnect that's preventing it from working properly.

Can you see a visible line of pixels showing through on the right or top screen
edge? Or does the window look, for all intents and purposes, maximized? If you
see a line of pixels, it may be a variant of Bug 428895.

Also, are we talking about SSD apps windows? Because GTK CSD apps windows are
known to be affected by Bug 419089.

Another thing: can you go to System Settings > Appearance > Window Decorations
> Breeze > Click on the inline pencil button and make sure that "Allow resizing
maximized windows from window edged" is unchecked?

Finally, does this happen on Wayland as well? Or just X11?

I did some investigation and found the bug is actually in Konsole, somewhere in
FileFilterHotSpot::activate(). Determining which app to open the URL with is
done in Konsole itself; by the time we get to KIO, we already have an app to
launch, and in this circumstance, it's the text editor rather than the web

figure out which app to open, and it's going wrong somewhere in there.

It's an interesting idea.

And as you can see, that bug post is from 2014--quite a while ago. So it's not
new either. Over the years, some speculative attempts were made, but in the
end, it's the kind of thing that just doesn't really work out too well in
practice. You can see a real-world implementation of this feature in some
Windows apps, which put a limited number of buttons in the toolbar--usually
just 3 or 4, if that. It's a minor thing with very little impact on the overall
user experience. Overall the technical implementation challenges probably
outweigh what few advantages would come from it.

So I don't think we'll end up going in this direction, probably. Sorry. :)

My scale is 100%. Most of my settings are default, and even after resetting
some settings relating to window management, the issue still occurred.

Are you completely up to date? Because this issue started after doing some
system updates this morning. Also, in case you did it without offline updates,
you may want to try restarting to imitate the offline updates feature.

Bug ID: 435709
   Summary: Rendering crashing
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: katodel...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I'm trying to render a video which is 27m31s20mm long, it has 7 video rows and
3 audio rows. It hasn't many effects, but it does have many images that use the
appearing and disappearing effect and some images that are enlarged or
shrinked. I don't know exactly the cause of the problem or how to reproduce it,
but here is the error code I get:

Rendering of C:/Users/Pichau/Videos/POP christianity1.mp4 crashed

[mp4 @ 0a2c8280] Using AVStream.codec to pass codec parameters to
muxers is deprecated, use AVStream.codecpar instead. [mp4 @ 0a2c8280]

 What should I do?

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.Render to file in any format (mp4, webm, etc)
2.Wait until it's about 75% rendered.
3.The crash must appear there.

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When in a Google Meet's meeting, if someone shares their screen so other
participants see it, I cannot. The "X is showing their screen" message appears
but nothing else.

Which is weird, because when someone is using their camera, I can see them.
It's just when they share their screen.

This is happening to me since december, 2020 - I didn't upgraded qtwebengine
neither falkon (obviously, no updates since forever...) so I'm not sure about
the reason for this weird issue.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be in a Google Meet's meeting
2. Someone else shares their screen

OBSERVED RESULT
Cannot see their screen

EXPECTED RESULT
See their shared screen

With Qt 5.15 (QtWebengine 5.15.2) and Frameworks 5.81 I'm not having issues
with audio and it'll allow me to be in meetings, both listening to people and
talking.

Can't tell about camera because I don't have one. What I can't do is neither
share my screen or see other person's shared screen, though up to december 2020
I could see someone else's shared screen, which is the reason I stumbled upon
this - to file a bug about that.

Yes, that's sensible. Particularly as, as far as I can tell, once baloo hits
the "inotify limit", it doesn't get told of any changes.

> I don't understand why baloo refuses to index files in a symlinked folder -

Some digging is probably required..

I know there was an issue with hidden folders (Bug 431588, sorted in 5.79). It
would make sense to check whether the issue appears with "normal" symlinks to
"normal" folders - and try out the different variations.

I'm looking with

Neon Testing
Plasma: 5.21.4
Frameworks: 5.81.0
Qt: 5.15.2

and symlinks seem to work... or, to say things more carefully, I've not
stumbled on a way they break.

[digikam] [Bug 435707] New: More compact thumbnail view

2021-04-13 Thread mulberryfortune
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435707

Bug ID: 435707
   Summary: More compact thumbnail view
   Product: digikam
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: macOS (DMG)
OS: macOS
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Thumbs-IconView
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: fredrik.svensson202...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 137572
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=137572=edit
More compact thumbnail view as inspiration

It would be useful with a more compact thumbnail view, with less space around
the thumbnails, especially a reduction of space above and below each image.
When the user just wants to browse and classify images with tags and stars, and
perhaps rotate and delete some images, it's helpful to use large thumbnails,
but at the same time see many thumbnails on-screen at once for an overview.

There is currently still a lot of space above and below each image, even if the
user turns OFF things like "show filename", "show creation date" or "show
rotation overlay buttons". It would be useful to be able to see at least 5
columns x 3 rows of images, and perhaps even 5 columns x 4 rows, at the same
time (in full screen view).

A photo app that has a better compact thumbnail view is Lyn (www.lynapp.com -
see attached screenshot), which might perhaps be used as inspiration (even
though this one too could be more compact).

A compact thumbnail view option could be a setting in DigiKam under Preferences
-> Views -> Icons, such as perhaps "Minimize space above and below thumbnails".

2021-04-13 Thread Mircea Kitsune

Bug ID: 435706
Summary: Allow applications to draw content in the KWin
titlebar
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: sonichedgehog_hyperblas...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

This suggestion kicked off after recently dealing with Client-Side-Decorations
in GTK3 applications and having to install a patch called GTK3-noCSD. It's
additionally relevant now that KDE just implemented what it calls the hamburger
menu, which seems like a step in the right direction.

I feel it's legitimate to ask whether the time has come to support applications
being allowed to draw menu / tab / toolbar items directly in the KWin titlebar.
This is one of the few features of modern desktops KDE doesn't yet offer, with
Gnome being a common example of it: It allows applications to draw special
items right in place of the window title, which can host tabs or search fields
or backward / forward buttons or anything else. I'd also reference the many
Chromium / Firefox KDE users who've been dreaming for years about having the
ability to make their browser tabs show up in the window titlebar for extra
space.

https://i.imgur.com/M2LlXiB.png

I'm not sure how such a system would work under the hood, though I do know some
of the basics have already been done; We have the Application Menu titlebar
button, which allows putting the menu bar of Qt and GTK applications in a
button or even a plasma widget... we could thus start by offering the option to
draw the titlebar on the KWin decoration. If we're talking more complex widgets
then it may be a different story: Applications need a way to tell KWin they
want it to draw things like a search field or custom button in the titlebar,
which may require changes to how Qt and GTK decorations communicate to window
managers to request drawing application content. Such a framework should
already exist: I'd once more point to the Firefox browser which knows to tell a
compatible window manager that it wants its tabs drawn in the title bar.

Git commit efff8affd6416e7c9bf47ac4e690742721b6f17c by Igor Kushnir.
Committed on 13/04/2021 at 18:10.
Pushed by igorkushnir into branch 'master'.

test_gdbprinters: don't crash after running for >= 60 seconds

All 27 gdbprinters test cases pass on my computer, but they run for
slightly longer than a minute. Thus a regular crash on exit, which ctest
reports as an overall test failure.

Such a crash during a slow KDevelop startup was worked around in the
same way in 43db1a72dbbe91e231ab7349f202df6a5fb4337c.

[frameworks-kglobalaccel] [Bug 435651] Hotkeys don't work

2021-04-13 Thread Daniil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435651

I have configured shortcuts in system preferences to launch applications. I set
up widgets in the widget settings. But those keyboard shortcuts that are
configured 'out of the box' do not work either.

Now I found that the keyboard shortcuts Win + number 0-9 also work. I set my
keyboard shortcuts to Ctrl + 0..9.
And they work too.
But they refuse to work with the letters on the keyboard.
I found several people with the same problems on the forums, but they either
did not find a solution how to use letters and use numbers, or their solution
did not help me.

In principle, it is already possible to somehow live with this, but it is still
inconvenient. After all, now hotkeys will not work in browsers.
For example, instead of opening the first tab (ctrl + 1 in Opera), my
application now starts.

I have noticed that the panel does not update the state. For example, after I
have read all mails in kmail, the icon shows that there are unread mails until
I close the application. Then it shows that there is no unread mails (the
icon).

But I did not fixed it in video.
