Did the version you already installed contain the fix? The installed version
should have been from 05/30 or 05/31.

I tested it yesterday with the current version and all exiftool instances are
now closed.

Bug ID: 437980
Summary: Assert and crash when change image color space with
Color Space plugin
   Product: krita
Version: git master (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Scripting
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dimul...@gmail.com

Created attachment 138937
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138937=edit
Screenshot of the assert

I checked Krita 4.4.3 and it worked fine, so that is a regression. I couldn't
check krita/4.3 branch though.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any RGB8 image (my image had vector shapes)
2. Tools->Scripts->Color Space
3. Select LabA/U16
4. Press Ok

OBSERVED RESULT
See the assert screenshot in the attachment

[plasmashell] [Bug 437979] New: Switching global themes and choosing to use desktop layout duplicates application launcher keyboard shortcut, unbinding meta key

2021-06-01 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437979

Bug ID: 437979
Summary: Switching global themes and choosing to use desktop
layout duplicates application launcher keyboard
shortcut, unbinding meta key
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.21.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: bionicbiso...@protonmail.com
CC: mikel5...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 138935
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=138935=edit
Two Application Launcher shortcut entries, both nonfunctional

SUMMARY
Choosing to switch the global theme and selecting the checkbox to apply the
associated desktop layout duplicates the "Activate Application Launcher"
shortcut under the "Plasma" category. One of the duplicates has the default Alt
F1 set for the meta key to function but the other is blank. This results in an
unusable meta regardless of which one is set to Alt F1.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select any theme in Global Themes in System Settings
2. Choose to apply the desktop layout with the checkbox
3. Attempt to activate application launcher with meta key

OBSERVED RESULT
Application Launcher does not respond to meta key as the keyboard shortcut is
now duplicated with no easy way to remove one

EXPECTED RESULT
Only one Application Launcher shortcut entry is present at any time under
keyboard shortcuts. It either stays bound to alt f1 or is unbound (if the
creator of the theme really intended to) with a way to rebind it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch - fully up to date as of 6/1/21, clean install for
testing
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.82.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This issue was also present on Fedora KDE. The default key bindings also have
no meta key functionality yet KDE comes with this out of the box. This should
probably be remedied as well.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435716

I'll continue to look into it.

I think the main difference is that each frame needs to be threaded separately,
if possible. That might be a rather large change with the way the flatten layer
pipeline works right now, but it should be possible without too much source
code changes (I think). :)

[systemsettings] [Bug 437883] the Terminal options for adding a startup application have no effect

2021-06-01 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437883

It's going to be a very difficult thing to do upstream as there isn't a
standard for finding the correct terminal.

We currently parse kdeglobals, with a hardcoded fallback
(KIO::DesktopExecParser::resultingArguments) , but that obviously won't work
upstream.

I can confirm that xdg-autostart-generator currently deliberately ignores
Terminal.

We can try and add it if it's really part of the spec and if there's a
real-world use-case.

What are you using it for? Presumably kwrite was used just as an example?

[kwin] [Bug 437973] New: Meta + P Switch Monitor Shortcut Reverts Monitor(s) to Default Refresh Rate

2021-06-01 Thread Tim
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437973

Bug ID: 437973
Summary: Meta + P Switch Monitor Shortcut Reverts Monitor(s) to
Default Refresh Rate
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.21.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: xrandr
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: dodgexan...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Using the Meta+P shortcut to change multiple monitor layouts sets monitor
frequency to default instead metamode defined in xorg.conf, or if not, it
should use the last used frequency.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set a monitor refresh rate that is non-default, in my case 144hz of my
external monitor.
2. Change screen layout using meta+p shortcut to extend too secondary screen.
3. View current refresh rate (reported by the display).

OBSERVED RESULT
The refresh rate always switches to the default as reported by xrandr, rather
than the preferred mode set in xorg.conf, or the last used mode in
nvidia-settings or display manager. For monitors that have correct refresh
rate's set as default, its fine. For high refresh rate monitors that often
report default 60hz when they can run at 144hz+ or higher, its not.

When using Meta+P you can view the xorg.log. Instead of following my defined
metamode in the xorg.conf, meta+p overules and sets the resolution as an auto
mode instead.

See xorg log when I enable my internal laptop monitor in addition to my primary
here (extend right, meta+p):
[ 17023.529] (II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "DP-1: nvidia-auto-select @2560x1440
+1920+0 {ViewPortIn=2560x1440, ViewPortOut=2560x1440+0+0}, DP-0:
nvidia-auto-select @1920x1080 +0+0 {ViewPortIn=1920x1080,
ViewPortOut=1920x1080+0+0}"

DP-1 which is my ext monitor is using nvidia-auto-select mode and not the
metamode reported in my xorg.conf.

EXPECTED RESULT
The shortcut should read the preferred mode set in xorg.conf, or the last used
mode rather than the default mode.

Correct Xorg.log would look like:
[ 17023.529] (II) NVIDIA(0): Setting mode "DP-1: 2560x1440_144 +1920+0
{ViewPortIn=2560x1440, ViewPortOut=2560x1440+0+0}, DP-0: 1920x1080_120
@1920x1080 +0+0 {ViewPortIn=1920x1080, ViewPortOut=1920x1080+0+0}"

Good for you for reading that note!

However a number of KDE projects have themselves decided to ignore this because
they prefer using GitLab issues for bug tracking over Bugzilla. :/

This isn't really an Okular issue but a poppler issue.

"Just" a bug that poppler doesn't know how to render some characters. It's not
that those characters are unsupported by the PDF specification or anything so
there's not much we can do in the Okular side.

Anyhow I have the feeling that the just released poppler 21.06.0 should fix
your problem.

Do you have any way to try?

- Enters into the rescue mode after only one wrong attempt of decrypting, which
is very frustrating because the user needs to press Control Alt Del when that

The strlen part is clearly a bug on my end. The remaining are a "feature" of
both GCC and glibc. If my tests are correct, should *not* be
available if the C++ standard is less than 17 (as in our case), see
https://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/header/charconv . This should also fail as
soon as it tries to build the structured bindings.

[kate] [Bug 437337] When the app crashes, last-used sets of tabs is lost

2021-06-01 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437337

That seems easily optimizable by only writing to the config file when a new
file is opened, not when the session itself is loaded, no? And in the case
where multiple files are opened by the same action, they could be batched up
and result in only one write not n writes.

But a 10 second delay timer would probably be okay.

:P Unfortunately I use NFS homes daily :P

e.g. if you open your session and it has 100 files open, you will now write 100
times the full session config back in worst case.

If we just delay that with say a 10 seconds timer, it will be one write in most
cases.

2021-06-01 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437337

Yeah, there are definitely trade-offs involved. However I don't know how common
the NFS home directory use case is, and perhaps we could optimize it. And I
think writing to the config file every time a document is opened is likely to
be less costly than writing based on a timer, unless the timer avoided writes
when nothing has changed and determined this in a way that didn't involve
reading the config file at all. But even then, you'd lose any tabs that were
open after the last sync.

I think that most commo n(generally speaking) settings should be at the top.
For example "Connections" is at the middle, but it's a very common setting.
This also should be applied to submenus: in Workspace Behavior, Desktop Effects
comes first than Virtual Desktops, which is a more common setting.

That would imply that on each file open you will write the session to the home,
I am not sure that is really a good idea, given e.g. on NFS homes that will
stall.

Perhaps one could just start some "sync me" timer there and batch that together
in xx second slices, I assume that would be good enough.

If the animation does not become disabled when setting the slider to "instant",
that is a bug we can and should fix. Can you please file a new bug report to
track that? It works for me, FWIW.
