Does Libre Writer run with native wayland support? You can verify that by
running xprop in terminal and clicking the libreoffice window.

2021-06-14 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438660

Bug ID: 438660
Summary: Krita 5.0 has no resource bundle if a fresh
installation was first started using a non-English
locale under Windows
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.4.3
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Resource Management
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tyson...@tysontan.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Krita 5.0 has no resource bundle if a fresh installation was first started
using a non-English locale under Windows.

Tested with krita-nightly-x64-5.0.0-prealpha-0a36a37004-setup.exe under Windows
10 21H1.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Uninstall Krita. Remove all Krita's settings and resources from the appdata
folders.

2) Make sure Windows is using a non-English locale (for example Simplified
Chinese) to make sure Krita will started using zh_CN locale.

3) Install the lastest Windows nightly

4) Start Krita for the first time, it will freeze a while at "Adding
Resources", and display a waning message: "You don't have any resource bundles
enabled. Only your local resources are available."

5) Krita's Manage Resource Libraries dialogue is now empty.

6) Switch Krita's language to English, the resource library will stay empty.

7) Delete Krita's resource folders from appdata folder (not the config files
otherwise the language settings will be reset)

8) Start Krita again, now it will have all the bundles in the library.

9) Switch Krita's language back to Simplified Chinese, it still works properly.

Since the latest Windows nighties haven't yet fixed the UTF8 path no
translation bug, I can install Krita fresh into a UTF8 directory (like "测试")
and thus force it to start using English locale. In this case, Krita will have
all the resources.

I remember something similar happened on Linux a while ago. Although my current
installation is working fine.

I should have caught this initially. I'm 99% sure that you've hit bug 429803
which was fixed in Tellico 3.3.5.

Once you're able to try a more recent version (3.3.5 or 3.4.1), please let me

duplicate but certainly re-open it if that turns out not to be the case.

[Craft] [Bug 438658] New: Plugins referencing Python Framework won't load on macOS

2021-06-14 Thread Dawid Wróbel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438658

Bug ID: 438658
Summary: Plugins referencing Python Framework won't load on
macOS
   Product: Craft
   Version: stable
  Platform: macOS (DMG)
OS: macOS
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Core
  Assignee: vonr...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@dawidwrobel.com
CC: kde-wind...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The KMyMoney on macOS fails to load one of its plugins, which in turn
references libpython. It fails specifically because it links to
"@executable_path/../Frameworks/Python3.framework/Versions/3.7/Python3", which
is not present in the bundle.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download macOS dmg image from BKO
2. Run the app from console, e.g. $
./Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/MacOS/kmymoney

OBSERVED RESULT

Loading "/Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/PlugIns/kmymoney/weboob.so"
Could not load plugin
'/Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/PlugIns/kmymoney/weboob.so', error: Cannot
load library /Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/PlugIns/kmymoney/weboob.so:
(dlopen(/Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/PlugIns/kmymoney/weboob.so, 133):
Library not loaded:
@executable_path/../Frameworks/Python3.framework/Versions/3.7/Python3
  Referenced from:
/Applications/kmymoney.app/Contents/PlugIns/kmymoney/weboob.so
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
file system relative paths not allowed in hardened programs)

EXPECTED RESULT

The plugin should load properly, by using the Framework correctly symlinked in
the bundle, or it should reference system's framework (not sure what is the
correct approach here).

[kde] [Bug 438657] New: Cannot resize columns in printer queue

2021-06-14 Thread David
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438657

Bug ID: 438657
Summary: Cannot resize columns in printer queue
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

unresizable_columns

SUMMARY
When I check the printing queue, the columns in there are not resizable, so
it's not possible to see the names of the files that are to be printed for
example.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Send many documents to a printer.
2. Open the printing queue from the system tray.
3. Try to resize some column such as the names.

OBSERVED RESULT
Columns are not resizable, thus under the default sizes, it's extremely
unlikely that the names would be readable, among other things.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should let me resize the columns with the mouse.

[systemsettings] [Bug 421333] New Global Shortcuts KCM: app is not removed from "Applications" section when we choose "Apply" in save/discard prompt

I recently reinstalled my Arch Linux system, with Plasma 5.21 (e.g. upgrading
from an up-to-date system with 5.21 to a fresh system also with 5.21), and,
since then, whenever I remove the shortcuts for an application in the
"Applications" section (such as Spectacle), it persists for the duration of the
session, but once I reboot, it comes back.

This still occurs on Plasma 5.22 - not that that should have made a difference,
I had misread the year on the previous replies in this thread ;) Thanks!

Git commit 3f6cfb02f751aa59d9e4bff06964103c37c28a08 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 14/06/2021 at 23:46.

Only show "Successful Offline Update" notification on mobile

In general, our HIG recommends against showing notifications for success,
because the user expects actions that they initiate to succeed. However
apparently things are different in mobile-land, where user expectations
are different.

Therefore, we should only show the "Successful Offline Update"
notification for mobile, where people expect it, and not on the desktop,
where people do not.

I don't have a sample but I use kdiff with Unity 3D files like *.cs or *.asset.
Version 1.9.x has this issue for "all" files that have merge conflict and
opened Kdiff via git client Fork (arguments: "$REMOTE" -b "$BASE" "$LOCAL" -o
"$MERGED"). I downgraded to latest 1.8 and it works fine.

This was an amazingly useful bug report.

With knowing it's cased by --replace, the bug is super obvious. I'd wasted ages
on the previous report and got nowhere.

ShellCorona ctor runs before the service is registered. For --replace that
means it's run before the old one quits. kglobalaccel understandably gets
confused.

Fortunately this means no regular user will ever hit this and as such isn't a
huge priority. For crashes the order is as-expected

In any case I'll move these methods into some sort of ShellCorona::init() and
call that after the KDbusService line.

[systemsettings] [Bug 348082] monitor is randomly powered back on

2021-06-14 Thread Patrick Silva
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348082

This problem happened 5 times on my Arch Linux
since my previous comment here, once on X11 and 4 times
on Wayland (3 today after logout from X11 session).
On X11, my monitor spontaneously enters in power saving mode again when the
timeout configured in Energy Saving KCM is reached.
However, on Wayland the monitor does not enter
in power saving mode again until some keyboard key is pressed
(I pressed CTRL today) or mouse is moved.
I do not know if the bug is related to usb mouse yet.

This bug will potentially damage many monitors if it is not fixed
before Wayland session of Plasma becoming popular.

There's changes in the pipeline for a bunch of repositories. I'm hoping you'll

FWIW, a lot of the changes are already merged and you should be getting them in

Hmm, it kind of seems to me like this is something that should be done at the

systemd service for something that's not ours. It would conflict with what
Fedora's doing, and would conflict with what the openSSH people would do should
it be doe at that level.

2021-06-14 Thread bugzilla_noreply

Hi

I find a case in which I'm able to reproduce the "infinite update loop".
But it's also related with animation (the way to produce bug is not the same,
need to use transform mask + animation curves)

Do I reopen this bug with additional information to reproduce problem (as it's
the same consequence), or do I create a new dedicated bug (as condition to
produce it is not exactly the same) ?

The ssh-agent systemd service is not present on my system (not on X11 and not
on wayland). I use KDE neon. I only added the redhat links as potential
solution for the problem.

The attached screenshot shows that ssh-agent is started by startplasma-x11 on
my system, the same is not true on wayland: startplasma-wayland does not start
ssh-agent.

I would indeed like to know who makes steering decisions at KDE, and how
they do it. Are users asked about anything, anytime?

It's slightly unfair to charge against the volunteering developers, who
would a priori deserve appreciation, but OTOH it is unacceptable to hijack
such a flagship project as KDE from it's users in this way. That's why it's
important to know how is the project driven.

Activities could have been a nice and OPTIONAL addition to Plasma, but
should have never been imposed this way because they suck in a very clear
and unavoidable way: they only make sense with Activities-aware programs.
My browser of choice is not part of KDE, not is my editor. They won't abide
by whatever rules Activities will want to impose on them.

VDs worked with anything that was inside s window. They worked even with
Emacs. They also worked with KNotes, which "lived" in non-standard windows
(but, OK, they were a KDE program). By the way, what happened to KNotes?

So, Activities is a client lock-up kind of move much like those we (should)
hate in Microsoft or Apple. In fact, I suspect that the people behind this
move might have grown up "inspired" by Jobs.

KDE 5 lacks not only the usability I enjoyed there, but also lacks AmaroK
and KNotes. At this point, it's all the same to me to stay out switch.
Either way, the good times will be in the past.

I'm chasing this downstream, where Ed reported a much smaller reproducer.

- 1.8 branch split off master in march 2019; tip of that branch (1.8.5) works
correctly.
- 1.9 branch split off master in february 2021; the base of that branch
b68a00406 hits a "severe internal error"; 1.9.2 has this problem as described
here.
- master has the same problem.

Also seen this. Not every time, but enough to confuse.

After you reboot and log back in, you get a "pop up" with the same number of
patches needing to be applied. If you run Discover again and update all, you
get the "restart" prompt straight away and then the patches are applied.

[krita] [Bug 438655] New: Half-precision floating point TIFF is loaded without checking availability of OpenEXR

2021-06-14 Thread amyspark
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438655

Bug ID: 438655
Summary: Half-precision floating point TIFF is loaded without
checking availability of OpenEXR
   Product: krita
Version: git master (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: File formats
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: a...@amyspark.me
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

16-bit floating point TIFF files should be prevented from loading if OpenEXR is
not available in the system. This is checked in the exporter for writing, but
not in the reader/converter plugin.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a 16-bit floating point TIFF file.
2. Attempt to load it with Krita having been built without OpenEXR support.

OBSERVED RESULT

The file is expected to load, and it should show garbage.

EXPECTED RESULT

The file should not be loaded.

[plasmashell] [Bug 438654] New: User saved presets do not work

2021-06-14 Thread Podagric
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438654

Bug ID: 438654
Summary: User saved presets do not work
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.0

 Component: System Monitor
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde.podag...@slmail.me
CC: ahiems...@heimr.nl, notm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a systemmonitor widget to your desktop and modify it by adding/removing
the sensors you want.
2. Save the preset
3. Delete the current widget and try to load the previous saved preset into a
new widget

[plasmashell] [Bug 438653] New: Option to display program name instead of window name

2021-06-14 Thread Podagric
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438653

Bug ID: 438653
Summary: Option to display program name instead of window name
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde.podag...@slmail.me
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
When the task manager is at the top of the screen, it is closer to the
program's title bar, and repeated information about the window name can pile up
close together. And as there is less space available in the task manager than
in the title bar, the window name ends up being truncated

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Move the panel to the top of the screen and select the alternate Task
Manager
2. Open and maximize a window

OBSERVED RESULT
Examples
Firefox: https://i.imgur.com/M46ulsH.png
Kate: https://i.imgur.com/0Ob49ql.png
Dolphin: https://i.imgur.com/v6A0uyf.png

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Graphics Platform: X11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Displaying only the window name will allow the task manager to use less
horizontal space, and this will allow more efficient use of that space, because
more apps can be displayed without having to group them or truncate their name.
As in this Qalculate! example (https://i.imgur.com/iuLM8yh.png), the window
only has its name, and there is a large amount of side space available to
resize if necessary.
