The way I use Yakuake is just like any other regular window, I would expect to be able to alt-tab to it once it goes into the background. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440052 --- Comment #7 from Fred Wright --- On 210815 I applied outstanding openSUSE maintenance to my system (zypper log is atached) and rebooted. I loaded and played a DVD in the normal desktop manner (load DVD in the drive, wait for the device notifier, select the VLC player and play the DVD). Everything proceeded normally. No other changes were applied to my system. On 210816 I loaded another DVD in the drive expecting the device notifier NOT to appear. However, the device notifier did appear and provide all the choices I expected. I was able to play the DVD normally and unload it when complete. I then attempted to reload the DVD. The device notifier reappeared as it should and I was able to select the VLC played again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 440493] Add an option for whether to enable or disable Bluetooth adapters at session start

Committed on 12/08/2021 at 15:50. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. Let the user choose Bluetooth status on login Currently there is no way for the user to choose whether Bluetooth is on or off at login. Instead, it is decided automatically for them by the presence or absence of the `AutoEnable=true` key in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf. This is a root-owned file that does not permit user configuration if it is shipped by a distro, because it will be blown away on the next system update. This commit adds a GUI to allow the user to determine the Bluetooth status on login: always enabled, always disabled, or remember the previous status. The default is to remember the previous status, with the initial status on first boot being determined by the distro's default value in the /etc/bluetooth/main.conf config file if present; if not present, bluez's own default value is "disabled". Regardless, thereafter the enablement status on boot will be determined by Bluedevil. Implementation-wise, this is accomplished by adding support in the KDED module for reading a new config file key set by the KCM which controls what do do with Bluetooth when launched. It already has support for saving and restoring status when the system goes to sleep and wakes up; this was extended for shutdown/startup events too. I use the Wayland (default) session of gnome. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Log into the wayland session of Gnome 40.3. 2. Install flatpak, add the "flathub" remote (I'm using it with under the "--user" flag FWIW). Install krita: "flatpak install flathub org.kde.krita -y" 3. "flatpak run org.kde.krita" to run it. OBSERVED RESULT Cannot maximize Krita on Gnome 40. EXPECTED RESULT Be able to maximize it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Fedora Silverblue Krita 4.4.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I think that this isn't Gnome's fault since another qt apps work as expected here, including KDE apps like Kdenlive. [kdeconnect] [Bug 441062] New: Unnecessary daemon reload makes logout process longer when exiting Plasma session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441062 Bug ID: 441062 Summary: Unnecessary daemon reload makes logout process longer when exiting Plasma session Product: kdeconnect Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: common Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: yule2...@live.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 140784 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=140784=edit Journal log at logout SUMMARY In a Plasma session, kdeconnectd (the KDE Connect daemon) gets automatically (re)launched by DBus immediately after the user logs out or initiates a shutdown, causing the logout process to be delayed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure that KDE Connect is installed in the system and already set up 2. Log out or shut down from Plasma as usual OBSERVED RESULT Immediately after the user clicks on "Log Out" or "Shutdown" in Plasma, the KDE Connect daemon is relaunched by DBus, as shown in the included journal log. As a result, the logout process gets delayed, i.e. the session would be stuck at a blank screen with a movable cursor longer than the user would expect, sometimes around 30 seconds or more. EXPECTED RESULT KDE Connect and its tray icon would exit as soon as the user clicks one of the aformentioned session control buttons, and its daemon doesn't get relaunched as the user logs out. The session would exit sooner than observed and therefore it spends less time at a blank screen. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Connect Version: 21.08.0 Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.13.6-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The session exited immediately when I switched to a TTY and ran `pkill kdeconnectd`, confirming the culprit of the long delays with logging out. The attached journal log has QML and XCB error messages removed for your convenience. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Heaptrack] [Bug 439897] Heaptrack produces impossible/incorrect stack traces
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439897 --- Comment #6 from Matt Whitlock --- (In reply to Milian Wolff from comment #5) > can you please try the latest master and see if you are still seeing this > breakage? Yes, that fixed it. I no longer get nonsense traces in Heaptrack, and I actually managed to find and patch that leak in plasmashell! > Quite frankly, I'm super stumped by this breakage as I mentioned in the > commit message for the workaround I implemented now... I think it should be expected that the instruction pointer addresses that are on the stack should point at the instruction just after the call instruction, as that's how the hardware works. (The call instruction pushes the address of the *next* instruction before branching to the target of the call. That saves having to re-decode the call instruction upon later return from the subroutine to determine how large the call instruction's operand is and thus where the next instruction begins.) > I just wonder how it could ever have worked at this > stage. Considering how many people have used heaptrack in the past... Maybe Heaptrack's stack traces have been "good enough," or maybe libunwind used to adjust the IPs in the stack trace to point at the call instructions but stopped doing that at some point. Technically, I am not sure that subtracting a constant 1 from the addresses is quite valid, as then you'll end up pointing at part of the call instruction's operand rather than at the call instruction's opcode, but maybe that's good enough to determine an accurate source code location for the function call. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
