[kate] [Bug 440585] Tabs bar tends to scroll left and hides all tabs to the right of current tab
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440585 Eduardo changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ed...@inbox.lv --- Comment #5 from Eduardo --- I am actually quite surprised that this behaviour is deemed to be correct. Why would tab positions change based on which documents are edited and saved, is not clear to me. There is just one solution - do not scroll / move tab positions while editing and saving documents, squeezed tabs won't work, because at the end there might be too much of them anyway. Actually I tried konsole with too much tabs, it's not right IMO there too. If there is a scrollable tab bar and I scroll to the very right and click on 3rd tab to the left, it changes the tab under! the mouse right away - I mean I just selected the tab and it already moved away, which is even more confusing. Anyhow, this is about kate and I really hope the sane (IMO) behaviour will eventually come to at least kate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444297 Wolfgang Faust changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |CONFIRMED Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #14 from Wolfgang Faust --- Yes, I can confirm that KDE Neon seems to use the same version of Poppler, 0.86.1, and I can reproduce the issue with Gustavo's attachment. I've taken the liberty of filing https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446309 to see about getting this updated. (Gustavo, once that bug gets taken care of you'll probably be able to manually install the Neon-packaged libpoppler on your system, since Neon is also built on 20.04 LTS.) I'm glad to hear we have a probable cause for this particular case (thanks Gustavo for producing that test PDF!), but I still think the error message needs to be updated to make it clear what's going on when this sort of thing happens. Even if this particular problem is no longer an issue, it's inevitable that some PDFs will be unreadable and the current error message is not at all clear about the problem. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

SUMMARY On my secondary monitor, attempting to maximize any window is resulting in a "gap" between the bottom of the window, and the bottom of the desktop. My guess is that Kwin (or whatever component this should apply to) believes that a panel exists, even though it doesn't. This can be seen in the attached image. Note: this could be a plasma shell bug as well, wasn't sure the best place to put it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE UNKNOWN. OBSERVED RESULT This started occurring randomly. Does not occur on my primary monitor where a bottom panel does exist. Have attempted to restart plasmashell and kwin / restarting my whole PC, no change. It's a weird example, but a picture containing dozens of instances of the same person, when confirming all of them at the same time, only 10-12 of them are really saved. You can try it with the picture I have attached, the poster to the movie "Being John Malkovich". Moreover, if two or more of these suggestions are confirmed, the other detected faces disappear from the suggestions, and the picture must be scanned again for faces. I don't know if the same issue happens if two different persons are confirmed at the same time (I don't think it's technically possible in Digikam). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Scan for faces. Multiple faces are detected in a picture. 2. Confirm all suggestions at once. 3. Open the picture, and observe how many faces were actually saved. OBSERVED RESULT Only some of the pictures were actually saved. The rest of the suggestion disappeared. EXPECTED RESULT All confirmed suggestion must be saved into the image. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446303 Bug ID: 446303 Summary: [Touch input] Checkboxes in most widgets don't toggle when tapped Product: plasmashell Version: 5.23.3 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: personalizedrefrigera...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Checkboxes in most widgets do not respond to touch input. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the "battery" applet 2. Tap on "Inhibit Automatic Screen Sleeping and Locking" 3. Open the "audio" applet 4. Tap on the "raise maximum volume" checkbox 5. Open the "screen layout applet" 6. List of installed packages can only be show by size and order OBSERVED RESULT Working as intended. EXPECTED RESULT Not what I expect, what I wish. Nate told me to create this bug report. Discover works just fine to install and remove not programs, but does a poor job in managing those installed programs. Sometimes I want to remove something use Discover and have to browse thorough extensions and themes, and icon sets and other minor things, or the contrary. Would be better if there there options on Dolphin's interface to filter those results, more options. [gwenview] [Bug 418635] Display of GPS Area Information does not respect EXIF specification
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418635 --- Comment #14 from Philipp Reichmuth --- (In reply to linadmin from comment #13) > (In reply to Philipp Reichmuth from comment #12) > > I think bashing developers is counterproductive. I notice > > that the lengths of several fields are off. > > I do know that bashing may be counterproductive, but my many years of > waiting without success proved that positive feedback does not help either. A bug tracker is not a good place for venting and deliberately bashing developers is destructive, no matter how unhappy we are. I think this was probably an upstream issue that was fixed upstream unnoticed while you were waiting. If you still have access to your old system, and you want to be sure whether the bug was fixed in Gwenview or exiv2, you can verify this: go back to the old version where you see the Gwenview behaviour in the original bug report, check the exiv2 version installed there, and read out the broken 266-byte GPSAreaInformation tag on the command line. (In reply to linadmin from comment #11) > However, I do not see why it should display the additional information that > the GPSAreaInformation is in such and such character coding. It does not > show that on City and City2 which also can be Unicode and which have already > worked as expected in older versions. I conclude that the Gwenview project > management it too lousy to believe: They _somehow_ worked at the bug > without looking how it has been done on other fields. (In reply to linadmin from comment #13) > There is the EXIF standards documentation and Gwenview must first of all > adhere to this paper. [...] As fas as I can see Gwenview uses exiv2 for handling metadata. On my system the metadata is displayed exactly as exiv2 also shows it. So you might be holding the developers accountable for something with which they have nothing to do. According to the exiv2 manpage, the character specification applies to the tags Exif.Photo.UserComment, Exif.GPSInfo.GPSProcessingMethod and Exif.GPSInfo.GPSAreaInformation. It does not mention that this applies to tags from the manufacturer MakerNote such as Exif.Panasonic.City and I wouldn't expect it to, as they are not part of the standard. Either way I think we are talking about an upstream issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
