[plasmashell] [Bug 449292] Plasma does not correct start-up after upgrade to 5.23.5
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449292 --- Comment #3 from hasez...@gmail.com --- > Very likely hitting https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206387. i dont think that i am hitting *that* issue, because the display configuration is still there and mostly all windows start where they should (expected the mentioned ones like VSCode since 5.23.5) so the blackscreen and missing wallpaper is only that plasmashell (or whatever) does not correctly start-up also from what i can tell, my configuration of displays is correctly picked-up (kde is loading the display configuration correctly, but is missing the setting for "Primary Display", which should come with 5.24) here is my configuration: - Graphics card: AMD Vega 64, 2 HDMI ports, 2 Display Ports, 1 DVI (i think) - Display on the most left: HDMI connected Samsung 1080p monitor - Display in the middle: Displayport connected HP Omen 1440p monitor - Display on the most right: Displayport connected DELL 1080p monitor the only place where the displays are not correctly set-up is in SDDM, because i dont know where to change that (but that does not matter) > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 353975 *** i also dont quite think this issue is exactly my issue, because yes it happened in 5.23.x before, but since 5.23.5 it happens *consistently*, i can reproduce it at each reboot since 5.23.5 my reproduction steps on 5.23.5: - boot-up - login for the first time on boot - logout (like i mentioned, because of the issue of the taskbar being on the wrong display, 5.24 should fix this with "Primary Display" like on X11) - log back in and the issue is there now - logging back out and back in again also bring up the issue, also rebooting again and doing the same steps it always happens in 5.23.5 from what i can tell, in 5.23.5, it so always chooses the left-most screen for the task-bar on first login (unlike in 5.23.4 and 5.23.x, where it only ~30% of the time chose the left most screen instead off the middle screen) also, like i mentioned, the workaround of using "kstart5 plasmashell" to resolve the issue of plasmashell (again, i dont know if this is the right component) starting up, in 5.23.x it always worked and started-up back right away after executing the command, but in 5.23.5 it somehow does not and also requires a extra argument to be added PS: because of this issue, 5.23.5 is not really usable for me and have to stay reverted to 5.23.4 for now -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449305 Bug ID: 449305 Summary: iblocklist (default) blocks KIO user agent Product: ktorrent Version: unspecified Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com Reporter: luke-jr+kdeb...@utopios.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY iBlockList apparently considers KIO's default user agent to be "impersonat[ing] browsers when accessing our service so [they] have put a stop to that." In practice, "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) KIO/5.88 ktorrent/20.12.3" is being sent, so I guess they consider "Mozilla" to imply a web browser. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable IP filter plugin 2. Attempt to update it from the default URI OBSERVED RESULT Error EXPECTED RESULT Successful IP list download ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I was able to downgrade KIO to 5.80 to get the Browser Identification module for System Settings, then used that to spoof a Wget user agent for list.iblocklist.com. After upgrading KIO back to 5.88, KTorrent now works again. It seems like perhaps the Browser Identification module should be restored, and KTorrent's default user agent adapted to not imply a browser (if iblocklist is stubborn and keeps the block as-is). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448562 --- Comment #7 from indecisiveautoma...@gmail.com --- I ran some system updates earlier today, and along with another issue with system tray icons being fixed, the emoji selector now appears! However, I still cannot open the KWin debug console. This is likely a separate issue, but I cannot confirm the window geometry still or anything like that, apologies. I'm sure a KDE dev is probably more aware of what packages might have been updated to fix this, but I had a browse through the Pacman logs. Mostly it was an update to Mesa, but there were some Qt package updates: - `qt-base` was updated from `5.15.2+kde+r294` to `5.15.2+kde+r295` - `qt5-wayland` was updated from `5.15.2+kde+r44-1` to `5.15.2+kde+r46-1` On opening it in the first login, it doesn't appear centered on the screen but a bit away from the left hand side of the screen and a bit down from the top. Subsequent opens make it appear centered. But that is very minor, and just an observation. I am happy for this to be marked as resolved, but if further investigation into what may have fixed this issue is needed, it can be left open. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

In my case it happens when I have many widgets in the panel and I started to use the panel with auto hide. Because there is a limited space for non icon task manger widgets, suddenly they started to disappear. The correct behaviour should be to reduce the size of the widget according the existing space but not disappear. I'm using plasma 5.23.5 I'm going to mark this as confirmed to see what the developer says Regards -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442380 --- Comment #37 from Jesus --- (In reply to Brian Kaye from comment #36) > The issue with the dolphin restarts may have something with the > dolphin_dolphin_dolphin file in .config/session. Confirmed, it's a dolphin issue. I have done what you said to create a new user and open several applications on different desktops and the only windows that have the problem are the dolphin windows. I thought it also happened with konsole and kwrite but it was because when you disconnect a second monitor the windows are not in the same place they were before. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449233 ninj...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ninj...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from ninj...@gmail.com --- Info on other terminal emulators. There are several cases to consider: - No margins - Vertical margin that includes line 1, e.g. 1;$((LINES-2)) - Vertical margin that doesn't include line 1, e..g 2;$((LINES)) - Horizontal margins xterm, urxvt and wezterm move lines into the scrollback buffer for the 2 first cases, but not for the last 2 (urxvt actually doesn't support horizontal margins). vte doesn't move lines into the scrollback buffer for any case, and so behaves like konsole. mlterm moves lines into the scrollback buffer for the first 3 cases, but not for the last 1. contour moves lines into the scrollback buffer for the first case, but not for the last 3 (it actually crashes on the horizontal margins case). An argument can be made that SU (Scroll-Up/Pan-Down: CSI Ps S) is typically used by fullscreen applications like vim, and it doesn't make sense to move lines into the scrollback buffer in that case.
