[kwin] [Bug 449681] New: Scaling on wayland results in glitches everywhere
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449681 Bug ID: 449681 Summary: Scaling on wayland results in glitches everywhere Product: kwin Version: 5.23.90 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ryu.ketsu...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 146332 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146332=edit Screenshot demonstrating the problem SUMMARY I use a laptop which max resolution is 1366x768. The elements look too big on screen for both X11 and Wayland sessions but the Wayland session allows for a scaling feature, which neatly reduces the size of everything on screen while still retaining pixel sharpness unlike some X11 workarounds. Thing is, prior to 5.23.90, this scaling was pretty much perfect. After this update, the scaling does not work on certain elements, such as window decorations. They keep the exact same size after reducing or increasing the scaling, resulting in visual glitches in the process as well. Other elements, such as plasmashell, show visual glitches on the icons. I don't know how far this scaling problem goes but it seems to be a regression from 5.23.5 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On Wayland session, turn the scaling to 75% or lower, or 125% or higher OBSERVED RESULT Screenshot attached to show result EXPECTED RESULT All elements on screen to be scaled properly instead of stay the same size as before and generate visual glitches. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449680 Bug ID: 449680 Summary: Installing Kdevelop on Ubuntu 20.04 misses package qtdeclarative5-dev Product: kdevelop Version: 5.5.0 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: noloa...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Hi Everyone, I'm working on Kubuntu 20.04.03, x86_64, fully patched. I'm trying to develop a C++ application using KDevelop and Qt. The build is failing with the message: Could not find a package configuration file provided by "Qt5Qml" ... I installed the following packages: $ history | grep 'apt-get install' 18 sudo apt-get install emacs-nox ... 101 sudo apt-get install kdevelop 102 sudo apt-get install --yes cmake 103 sudo apt-get install qtbase5-dev At (103), qtbase5-dev was already installed. I'm not sure what brought it in since it does not appear to be a direct dependency of kdevelop. According to https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=305=142524#p384573 , the missing package was qtdeclarative5-dev. Indeed, looking at the output of 'apt-cache show kdevelop', qtdeclarative5-dev is missing. After manually installing qtdeclarative5-dev the build problem was fixed. It appears the Apt KDevelop recipe should install qtdeclarative5-dev, too. Including qtdeclarative5-dev as a dependency for kdevlop will help things "just work" for folks. It will save folks from the surprise and hunting down the missing package. [Bluedevil] [Bug 449679] New: Bluetooth system tray "no devices found" while devices work and are displayed in system settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449679 Bug ID: 449679 Summary: Bluetooth system tray "no devices found" while devices work and are displayed in system settings Product: Bluedevil Version: 5.23.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: system tray Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: k...@squiddity.com CC: m...@ratijas.tk, now...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 146331 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=146331=edit screenshot with the bluetooth system settings and expanded bluetooth system tray applet, inconsistent. At time of screenshot connected devices were working normally. SUMMARY System is Manjaro running kernel 5.16.5 and KDE version 5.23.5, KDE frameworks version 5.90.00. Bluetooth starts normally and displays connected devices (mouse, headset) in both system tray and in System Settings > Bluetooth. Sometime later I believe after resuming from sleep, connected devices continue to work and are shown as Connected in System Settings > Bluetooth, where I can disconnect and reconnect as expected. However the system tray no longer shows the list of devices, instead showing "No devices found". Not sure what logs to look for, underlying bluetooth doesn't seem to be the issue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have bluetooth with connected devices, showing status in both system tray and settings 2. Resume device 3. All connected devices continue to operate but "No devices found" in the bluetooth system tray while items are listed in System Settings. OBSERVED RESULT Empty bluetooth System tray EXPECTED RESULT Bluetooth system tray populated by connected devices SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kmymoney] [Bug 449678] New: Reconciliation Allowed outside of the Reconciliation process
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449678 Bug ID: 449678 Summary: Reconciliation Allowed outside of the Reconciliation process Product: kmymoney Version: 5.1.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: jvap...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I noticed that it is possible to mark a transaction as reconciled outside of the reconciliation process. I believe it should not be allowed. Reconciliation is an important step. I would even think that if someone changes an old transaction that has been reconciled, that the transactions after the changed transaction, should be un-reconciled, to force a review. Another good catch would be to block anyone from adding a transaction in one account that would change the reconciliation status of another account. For now, I think it would be good if it would at least provide the option to require the reconciliation process to execute before a transaction could be reconciled. The process should, as it does today, ask for a specific date and amount that the account to add up to. I hope these make sense. If not, let me know and I can expand on any of them. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Just a wish list item... 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT We should not be allowed to change or add transaction into a ledge account during a timeframe for which the account has already be reconciled. All reconciliations should be done through the process and not allow the user to simply change the state of the reconciliation by clicking the field. I am new to KDE, but I like what I see so far. I have a carrier unlocked Pixel 4a in US market. I purchased the phone from Google. I am not indentured to a carrier. I do not use app stores, like Google Play or F-Droid. Instead, I download the app and use 'adb install' to sideload it/install it manually. For example, here are Firefox [1] and Duo Security [2] apps. (This cuts both ways. I don't give up my privacy, but I can't use Uber or Lyft because they don't run properly). My request is, please provide a direct download for KDEConnect. I would like to try it (without compromising on my privacy by engaging an app store). [plasmashell] [Bug 449648] Discussion/proposal: Disable accelerators () in the Global Menu applet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449648 --- Comment #6 from ratijas --- Yeah, thanks for the #sumup. So, as I stated in the chat, I don't really see how such broken and random thing could help anyone with accessibility, besides looking jerky, and why would a single global shortcut not solve all those problems. I acknowledge that there are some people who like and use accelerators feature a lot, and we should keep it for them (even if in a half-working state). Personally I am not a fan nor even a user, so I'd probably only care as much as to make Global Menu applet honor my "Always Hide" preference for keyboard accelerators. Sad to say it, but sounds like "patches are welcome". Otherwise, if no one steps up, it'd be more like #resolved #unmaintained. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I didn't notice this before but when I'm running xmodmap manually > Plasma hangs for 15-30 seconds too. Each xmodmap entry triggers an x11/xkb map change notification to all applications, so the question is which one processes them that slowly. kglobalaccel5 is the usual candidate, can you re-test whether this still happens if kglobalaccel5 is not running? If yes, the easiest option is probably to kill processes one by one and check whether that fixed it... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 449676] New: Icons will sometimes move back to the left if they are right aligned

It is just how I got used to having them. But sometimes, easily replicated in many circumstances, the icons will be back to be left aligned until I click on them again where they are supposed to be, on the right. There are many ways of seeing this happen but a few ways of doing it, involve creating new icons, copying, moving and the panel position also creates that behavior, either by changing the panel height or placement. This is something I noticed to continue happening for many plasma versions but considering the 15 minute bug initiative, I decided to submit it too.
