[kmymoney] [Bug 453922] New: Decimal and thousands separators in ordinate axis labels are missing

2022-05-16 Thread Thomas Baumgart
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453922

Bug ID: 453922
Summary: Decimal and thousands separators in ordinate axis
labels are missing
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: reports
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: tbaumg...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Source of this request: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=69=174795
(though it bugs me too every now and then)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open networth report (with networth > 1000)

OBSERVED RESULT
Labels on y-axis do not contain thousand separator and are hard to read (e.g.
100). The same is valid for labels on the graph and tooltips.

EXPECTED RESULT
All values are displayed with thousand separators for better readability (e.g.
1.000.000 or 1,000,000 depending on the actual character used in the locale).
Removing trailing decimal separator with only zeroes following is valid.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment in current implementation contains the following comment:

// convert label to double just to convert it back to string with desired
precision
// but without trailing zeros, separator, or decimal point

which was added with https://invent.kde.org/office/kmymoney/-/commit/5e4c8322
which fixes bug #420767

I can confirm the same exact issue, verified today on this two systems:

(my main laptop)
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94.0
Qt Version: 5.15.4
Kernel Version: 5.17.7-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 4000

(testing virtual machine)
Operating System: KDE neon 5.24
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.13.0-41-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 3.8 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: SVGA3D; build: RELEASE; LLVM;

I verified it either on external btrfs volume connected via usb or an image
file with btrfs on it. When I delete a file this is moved to
~/.local/share/Trash instead to .Trash-1000 on the original btrfs volume.

After testing, I found that repeatedly entering and exiting fullscreen mode by

Interestingly enough, repeatedly entering and exiting fullscreen mode on a PNG

SUMMARY

After installing the krunner extension "kwin" and running the "kwin debug
console", the console window appears off-screen when using some mutli-monitor
setups.

The logic seems to be that the debug console appears in the top-left corner of
the overall desktop space, but in my case I have two monitors side by side at a
lower level and one above them, centered between the lower monitors. This
causes the window to appear off the left edge of the top monitor.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open krunner, click the configure button, enter "kwin" in the search, enable
it, close the dialog
2. open krunner, run the kwin debug console
3. observe the location of the debug console window
4. in system settings adjust left/right position a screen that lies above a
lower screen

Git commit d59747b8ad97fa0f19743970687b4f174e1d58b5 by Mathias Wein.
Committed on 17/05/2022 at 02:17.
Pushed by mwein into branch 'master'.

Fix preset chooser's thumbnail size slider only reacting to dragging

There are other means to manipulate the slider, including mouse wheel
and cursor keys.
Connect the update to the valueChanged signal instead, and saving the
value to config file when the menu gets hidden.

Also fix slider getting out of sync between chooser instances.

[kup] [Bug 453919] New: Buckups won't run, no errors given.

2022-05-16 Thread Miguel Guthridge
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453919

Bug ID: 453919
Summary: Buckups won't run, no errors given.
   Product: kup
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: simon.pers...@mykolab.com
  Reporter: h...@outlook.com.au
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I recently set up my system to back up to an external drive, but nothing I do
appears to actually trigger the backup.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to System Settings -> Backup
2. Create a backup to an external drive.
3. When prompted with a notification, choose to back up now. Nothing happens.
4. Use the backup menu in the system tray to backup now. Nothing happens.
5. In the same menu, choose to browse the backup files. Nothing happens.
6. In the same menu, reload the backup plans, and observe that you are prompted
to create your first backup again. Choose yes again. Nothing happens.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens when I choose to create my first backup from the notification.
Nothing happens when I choose to back up now from the system tray menu.
Nothing happens when I choose to view the backup files - no windows open.
When I reload the backup plans, I am prompted to create a backup again.
Restarting my PC does nothing.
Reconnecting the backup drive does nothing.
Checking the expected location of the backup, I see nothing in the file
manager. The backup folder is never created.

EXPECTED RESULT
Backup works seamlessly without me needing to do anything.

It should be fixed on 22.04.1. Related fix:
https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kdenlive/-/merge_requests/299

The official website still offers 22.04.0 currently but Arch Linux and KDE
Binary Factory already contain 22.04.1 package/binary, so I guess I should
close this bug now :)

2022-05-16 Thread Loren Burkholder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453918

Bug ID: 453918
Summary: When CapsLock is on, Alt+Tab window switching operates
backwards.
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.24.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-various
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: computersemiexp...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When CapsLock is on, pressing Alt+Tab will switch backwards instead of
forwards. I would argue that the user does not expect this behavior; CapsLock
generally only has an effect on typed letters. If the user wants to switch
backward, he should choose to do so by pressing Shift.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn on CapsLock
2. Press Alt+Tab

OBSERVED RESULT
The window switcher moves backwards.

EXPECTED RESULT
The window switcher moves forwards.

Everything I've tested is working as expected. This may be something in the
home brew network stack perhaps? I'm just guessing. The error about the SSL
negotiation makes it sound like something in the network or KIO library. Sorry
I can't help more. If any of the other data sources show similar errors, you'd
know for sure it's not Tellico since most of them also use https

Today's testing is pointing to libalkimia. So I got that from git, built it and

I've seen it mentioned quite a few times on reddit since 20 days ago and I
don't like it myself as well. I agree with this post:

https://old.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/ucbsfg/dolphin_new_icon_or_other_unrelated_change/

"I did a full update yesterday (Arch) and now I get these little icons besides
my internal only SSD drives.
https://imgur.com/lji7KFy
These drives cannot be removed from my laptop unless I disassemble it. I will
literally never unmount/eject them. Is there any way to remove these icons? Do
I need to make an fstab change? Is it a Dolphin bug? Thanks bros"

I too will literally NEVER unmount/eject drives that are inside my laptop. I
would have to take my laptop entirely apart to get them. There should be a
per-drive preference (checkbox in drive properties?) if we want this option to
be available to all.

Why though?

In my opinion, cluttering the interface with an option for every single tiny
thing is not ideal for a myriad of reasons. What's the reason for not wanting
the button to be there for internal partitions? Is it aesthetics? Misclicks? Is
it technically inaccurate? Does it lead to worse usability or other kinds of
problems?

   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.6
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. File > New > Create from Clipboard (Any image will do)
2. Use the transform tool to move the image.

OBSERVED RESULT
Any part of the layer with the image on it that should have been transparent
(like outside the borders) will be filled with white.

EXPECTED RESULT
Parts of the layer that were transparent should have remained transparent after
transforming it.

2022-05-16 Thread Maugre
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453916

Bug ID: 453916
Summary: Can't navigate next/previous image (by default)
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 22.04.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: maugrer...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Since the space/backspace shortcuts were removed, there's no default shortcut
for next/previous image. This is useful for e.g. comparing two different
versions of an image in place (same zoom/position).

I suggest , and . keys (also < and >) as they're also previous/next frame in
mpv and YouTube.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open image in a folder containing multiple images
2. Press space/backspace (previous shortcuts)

OBSERVED RESULT
No effect

EXPECTED RESULT
Change to next/previous image

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For a long time I didn't realise I can set custom shortcuts as the "Configure
Keyboard Shortcuts..." item was in a menu that wasn't displayed until I pressed
Ctrl+M, which wasn't obvious to me. Maybe this could be in dialog opened by the
"Configure Gwenview..." button on toolbar?

Fix regression preserving tcsh command prompt

Commit c3b3ef19 introduced a regression when invoking the
clear-history-and-reset action. While RIS (Reset to Initial State) is
specified in DEC STD-070 as homing the cursor, konsole has grown some
hacks in the name of usability to preserve the command prompt line.

For a long time, it has sent two SIGWINCH with changed sizes after clear
and reset actions to force the shell to redraw the prompt (see d346a2cc,
temporarily disabled on 5d61b69e and re-added on 82778e87), which works
for bash, zsh, ksh, ...

tcsh doesn't redraw its prompt on SIGWINCH, but commit b8e96bcd modified
Screen::refresh() so instead of clearing the entire screen and homing
the cursor, it scrolled up everything but the last (usually the prompt)
line.

So, keep that last hack when called from clear-history-and-reset, and
behave as specified on DEC STD-070 otherwise.

Note that other ways of clearing the screen don't need hacks, e.g.
Ctrl-L, if handled at all, is handled by the shell, which then redraws
its prompt. Calling "clear" or invoking "printf '\ec'" will result in
the shell redrawing its prompt in the usual way.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Okular
2. Open a PDF which takes fields and adds them for the result

OBSERVED RESULT
As soon as the PDF is updated for the first time, all input results combine.
(E.G. 8 and 2 make 82.)

EXPECTED RESULT
When the PDF updates all inputs should add (E.G. 8 and 2 should make 10.)

KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This issue is not because of a bad PDF file (afaik) as this behavior does not
occur in Windows.

   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.24.4
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Widget Explorer

  Reporter: andy...@mail.ru
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 148901
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=148901=edit
Screenshot illustrating the problem.

SUMMARY

In continuation of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453792.

If an error occurs while getting the list of widgets available for download,
the error is displayed in an incorrectly rendered window. The "close window"
button is rendered black and the whole styling does not follow system theme.
See the attached screenshot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Right-click on desktop and select Add Widgets.
2. Click Get New Widgets.
3. Make sure a connection error happens while accessing KDE store. In my case I
had genuine connectivity issues. It may reproduce if network connection is
down.

OBSERVED RESULT

An error is displayed. The error window is not rendered according to the system
theme (see the screenshot, the "close window" button is rendered black).

EXPECTED RESULT

The window should be rendered according to the system theme.

> This problem also still persists on Neon Unstable with 5.95.0

Is this a different issue? I tried this on both a local folder and a cifs
mounted folder and both are the same.

1. Create folder "test"
2. In chromium download an image into the folder
3. In Dolphin, navigate to parent folder containing test
4. Hit F5 to refresh - no thumbnail on the folder
5. Double click the folder to enter it
6. See the thumbnail generated
7. Return to parent folder
8. See the thumbnail on the folder

This was the case for both local and samba mounted folder for me. Seems like a
different bug. Does it behave the same for you?

For the last few days I've dodged the problem. What I did was delete/rename the
entire `~/.local/share/kactivitymanagerd/resources/` folder instead of just
specific files. Ever since none of them has grown like that.

Might wanna give it a try.

[dolphin] [Bug 453890] Umount icon shown on internal drives

2022-05-16 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453890

Can you describe why's that an issue? Describe your usecase, how and why
removing the icon would improve the situation. I'm not a KDE developer, but
generally that kind of information helps developers figure out the optimal path
for fixing an issue, or even figuring out if an issue is actually an issue or
not.

If the behavior I see on my computer is the same as on yours, I don't think
that showing the icon for internal drives would necessarily be a bad thing.
Usually the drives that show the icon (at least on my PC) are mounted
on-demand. For instance, I have an NTFS partition for sharing files with
Windows and I set those partitions to be auto-mounted on login from System
Settings. That partition can be unmounted using that icon even if it's in an
internal hard drive.

Personally, I haven't found a reason to unmount internal drive partitions, but
I'm sure there must be some kind of edge usecase out there for wanting to do
that from Dolphin.

Git commit 3a792c415941c51f34aa7950bfd65090a71879b2 by Mathias Wein.
Committed on 16/05/2022 at 19:28.
Pushed by mwein into branch 'master'.

Make tree indentation of Layers docker configurable

100% of the thumbnail size just takes too much space for many people,
leaving little space (or even none at all) for a layer name.
It now has a range of 20% to 100%, adjustable with a slider below
the thumbnail size slider.
While at it, remove a hack to update the view layout and slightly
optimize the delegate.

Also a few small quirks were fixed:
- the settings button did now update on theme changes
- the slider styling did not update on theme changes due to style sheets
- the thumbnail slider did not update the setting unless dragged with
the mouse; mouse wheel and keyboard shortcuts failed to do so.

[frameworks-solid] [Bug 453894] Disk can be ejected while files on it are still being read from or written to

2022-05-16 Thread Julius R.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453894

Thanks for the clarification. I do believe, this bug report should be closed as
resolved now?
Reason: As you described KDE is aware of file operations and disallows
unmounting (as it should), when there are operations running (like copying). My
point is a different one: That it can lead to unwanted behaviour, if a mounted
drive gets unmounted accidently, if other software relies on it. For example, a
browser does not start anymore, when the config files have been stored on that
particular drive, which is mounted at boot. There is also no file-operation in
my case of data-loss, which was a critical bug in synologys software (I
circumvented this now with a little script, that kills the synology client,
whenever it detects, that the drive is no longer mounted).

So, summarized
a) There is no way for the system to anticipate the complications described
above. They just happen and are not related to file operations.
b) When the majority of users is fine with the eject icon luring dangerously
over every mounted drive, folder and device - then that is the way it is and it
should stay. :)

Thanks Nate!

[kwin] [Bug 449957] KWin crash in KWin::PlacementArea() when disabling, unplugging or turning off output with windows on it

2022-05-16 Thread phrxmd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449957

Further clarification: on 5.24.5 this crash happens only when...
(a) unplugging a primary display, whether it has windows on it or not
(b) unplugging a non-primary display if and only if it has windows on it

E.g. on my home setting, where I have an monitor connected to the docking
station that is marked primary, KWin crashes whenever I unplug the docking
station, unplug the monitor from the docking station or switch off the monitor.
In that situation I can avoid the crash by moving all windows off the external
monitor, marking the notebook screen as primary and then unplugging the
(now-secondary) monitor.

It seems that it is triggered by the recalculation of window coordinates that
happens either when a window is on a disabled output and needs to be placed
somewhere else, or when the primary display goes down.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately libfuse2 is no longer in Ubuntu 22.04 so

KDE.
It even leads to KDE webpages under "contact the publisher" - here:

[okular] [Bug 453910] New: Allow the immediate combination of highlighting with pop-up notes

2022-05-16 Thread goebbe
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453910

Bug ID: 453910
Summary: Allow the immediate combination of highlighting with
pop-up notes
   Product: okular
   Version: 22.04.1
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: PDF backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: christian.goe...@mailbox.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When proofreading pdf-files, a common pattern is the combination of
highlighting with a pop-up note.
In my use-case this applies to the majority of my own comments. (Obviously, use
cases may be very different) :-)
I believe it would be very useful to have an option (with an icon in the
toolbar) for the combination of highlighting with
a pop-up comment.

Dream behaviour (of the future):
1. Select the (new) option "highlighting with pop-up note" in the annotation
toolbar.
2. Select and highlight text (holding the left mouse key) - when releasing the
mouse key, immediately open the combined pup-up note-window
3. let me type the text into the note (via keyboard)
4. bonus: the pop-up note window closes at the first left-click on the document
(no close button involved) - Okular should stay in highlighting mode
afterwards.Alternative: Use a much bigger close button in the pop-up note
window.

Currently, there are additional steps involved for combined highlight with
pop-up notes:
at step 2: currently one hast to select the highlighting marker, right click,
choose pop-up note
at step 4: close the pop-up window by clicking on the (very small) close button
in the pop-up-window.

Anyway, this would make the use of annotation easier.
It's just a big point on my personal wishlist for Okular. :-D
Keep up the great work and let me know it there is something I should ad to the
description.
